Been to this bike shop couple of times, and although I don't live in this suburb, I usually take my bike here. The staffs here have a fairly unique personality, Greg is more humorous and Andrew is more serious, and grumpy (just a bit). They are not the same staffs you will find from Rebel or Anaconda. You get professional advises from them as well as negative (but truthful) feedback. For small job where I don't have the tool to do myself (A 2 mins job but the tools would have cost me >$50), they actually offered to do it free for me, and I was deeply appreciated. The pricing on their item is actually not bad, I have read some negative comments and people were comparing their pricing from online store, for which I think it is totally unfair, and I cannot agree with. I think what can be improved is communication. Today I was called to the shop over the phone to address a gearing issue, when I arrived, I was told to book an appointment to look into it next week. Not knowing the reason why they have to do this, I was just curious why they were unable to book an appointment with me over the phone, and I could have saved a trip to the shop carrying my half broken bike. I will recommend this shop for the locals, and I hope more people can support local business.

We have had the worst experience at eltham cycles. Would not recommend. The two older guys were helpful but there is a youngish guy, the one with the black hair, moustache, has been so incredible rude to us. He lied 3 times to me about our wheel and when I went to pick it up gave it back to me complete taken apart, not fixed, and the other guy had to stop me on my way out to return some of the parts. No explanation as to why after 3 weeks it was not fixed. Took it to another shop in diamond creek, done in 5 mins with lovely, professional staff. After talking to other bike riders in Eltham, unfortunately they have all feed back they had similar experiences and avoid the place at all costs. It’s a shame as two of the people working there were quite helpful and nice, but this one guy, I have never meet anyone quite so arrogant and rude before. It makes me think that maybe he is the owner cause the other men looked so embarrassed about his behaviour and were trying to apologise. If he was a staff member there is no way he wouldn’t have been fired yet! Especially after talking to so many other eltham people and hearing they had the same experience! If I could give it no stars I would!

Unfortunately the two times I have dealt with this shop included the following: 1. My bike, brake service and remove air lock in brakes. I had to follow up constantly to find out the progress and had to bring the bike back several times after they said it was completed to find out as soon as they heated up the air lock was still there. So I was charged for this service but it was never done. 2. My daughter's bike. I bought a bike for my daughter from this shop the brake levers were scratched. They said they'd fix them up, I would've been happy with a paint touch up, they proceeded to have the brake levers changed to a lesser quality set and a completely different colour (this bike is entirely pink and black, levers were changed to silver) I asked for them to be changed back. After several follow ups, they informed me they lost the old levers. Still waiting on them to call with a fix (6 months ago). Do not bother going here, service is bad, mechanics don't really know what they're doing.

A fantastic addition to Eltham. You can only really review a business when things don't always go to perfect plan. I bought a new a bike, a cyclocross, which is fantastic. The guy selling the bike really described how a bike must be about enjoyment, and helped me into the right bike for me and my commute. Unfortunately I have had some problems with a little rear light. The guys have done everything and more is finding the right rear light for my bike. I mean the light isn't worth much, but they have jumped over backwards to assist me. A fantastic bike shop with excellent customer service. I am extremely happy with my commute bike. It is a fabulous addition to my bike family!

A Big Thumbs Up from me, Greg is a pleasure to deal with. About a week ago I dropped into the shop and Greg spent about half an hour setting my bike up for me e.g. adjusted handlebars, brake levers, seat height and position. He wouldn't take any money for his time. Today I picked up my bike after cogs, chain and brake cables were replaced, I'm rapped with how great it rides now. Greg told me drop back in a few weeks and he'll do some minor adjustments to the bike once the cables have settled in as they tend to stretch a bit. I'll definitely be a return customer and hope this post allows others to experience the positive vibe in the shop that I have. Thanks guys

Its all about service and boy have these guys excel in that. I brought my daughters bike there. We got a really great deal and getting things adjusted to suit her was no trouble. I ride to and from work and a couple of times I've had a glitch and dropped in with a "Please any chance of you fixing this now?" Both times the owner has dropped whatever he was dong to attend to fixing my bike to get me home. I cannot speak highly enough of this shop

A fantastic bike shop, couldn't recommend enough. Andrew is a friendly, passionate and knowledgeable guy and is fantastic to deal with and will go to great lengths to help you out. He didn't have the bike I was after but ordered it in in only a few days and beat an already good price we'd been offered elsewhere. Eltham Bicycle Centre is not at all local to me but I'll still be going back!

A word of advice, never patronize a customer or criticize his bike because he chose an alternative purchase from another store. Even if I had taken Andrew's advice on which bike to buy, I could have bought it from another store for $180 less. This is unfortunate, Bicycle Centre Eltham would have made more money from me off service and repairs than from the sale of one bike.

First and last time at this shop. The person that served me treated me as if I was dumb. It’s a shame, because I was willing to spend as much as it take to fix my bike. He didn’t even try to sell parts or services and couldn’t get rid of me soon enough! It’s a shame that with so many business struggling to survive, some are trying really hard to kill theirs!

Get the job done but that's all, I go there if it's only because they are the closest bike shop or the local shop, would not willingly go here for anything other than to get a new tire or a small adjustment and their attitude towards customers is appalling I have never left that shop without feeling like I have been judged or been just blatantly made fun of.

Twice now the guys have gone out of their way to fit a new part to my bike after my failed attempts almost immediately whereas other shops have at least a two week waitlist for a workshop booking - brilliant service and I can't compliment the young mechanic highly enough - no fuss and does a brilliant job, he's a ripper. Thx guys will return very soon!

Dropped in today and had a great chat with Greg about the type of bike that would best suit my needs and riding style. Greg even suggested a bike brand which Eltham Cycles don’t stock. Something that he said which resonated with me was ‘the bike which makes you smile is the right one for you.’ I went back the next day and bought a bike.

After sales service is everything, particularly with bicycles and accessories. I had a performance issue with a product purchased late last year. Andrew was only too happy to oblige with a replacement ( warranty ) piece. Terrific attitude. Genuine operator. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Thanks mate. Big Al ( Wombat Man )

One of the rudest staff members have encountered. Asked for help with a stuck wheel nut and was treated with disdain for having slightly ruined the tread on the nut, in front of a large group of customers to boot. Lots of other great bike shops in the area, so I'd stay away from this one at all costs!

I've been going here for my servicing needs since I got my first road by 4 years ago. Andrew always goes out of his way to help me out when I break something! When it came time to upgrade my ride, Andrew gave me a great deal on a new BMC. Couldn't be happier with the service provided.

Excellent customer service and price, so happy with my "2017 Merida BIG Nine XT" bike. Ordered few days ago and still got it before Christmas. Greg and the boys are very helpful and always happy to give advice or help. Definitely will buy again from there. Highly recommend this shop.

The crew there have always been fantastic, nothing has been too much trouble. They've even managed to source a specific brand of track bike for my monster 6'3' kid (they don't even stock that brand). I cannot recommend Bicycle Centre Eltham highly enough.

My experience with Eltham Bike shop having my Bike Service was very poor. My brakes failed after having the bike serviced at the shop. And when I made an inquiry to discuss the service and the failed brakes with Greg the response was less than favorable.

I bought two bikes for my kids from Bicycle Centre Eltham and also took my kids bikes there twice for service. I’ve been treated like a VIP customer and I was extremely happy with their service for both sales & repairs. I would highly recommend them

Sorted out the mess I made of peddle shaft, with some tender care and clever fixes late on a Saturday, and bailed me out of my self made hole. Much appreciated going the extra mile for me to sort out my bike.

Great service! The bike I brought in had a punctured tyre. The guys were flat out with people in the store and asked me to leave the bike and come back in 10 mins. I came back to find them fixing the problem!

Phenomenal service from the boys and Bicycle Centre Eltham. I went in for a couple of new tires and they changed them on the spot, gave the bike a clean over and gave me a discount to boot! I'll be back!

The team were super friendly, and even when they are overworked (due to supply issues, and increased demand) they still managed to get my bike back in a reasonable time and in great working order.

Helpful bike store with a bit of a range. Be aware that they are authorised to sell Norco and Merida so they are biased in that regard. Apart from that, really friendly and helpful staff.

Took my gravel bike in for a service and Andrew treated it like his own bike. He's a great mechanic with meticulous attention to detail. My bike is now riding like a dream again!
