I have bought two wonderful life changing bikes from Andy at BikePro. The first a Lynskey Road bike (sportive) titanium back in ~ 2014. On the Lynskey I have completed many around the bays in a day, two Alpine Raids and two times 3 Peaks challenge and countless wonderful weekend adventures and a tour down a river in Germany (all after not really having done a lot of road riding before I purchased this bike). When I first talked to him about ordering the Lynskey Andy asked me to bring my old bike and put it on a trainer and basically assesed my needs and recommended the size and components for me from what he saw and heard about my riding capabilities - and got it totally right, so from then on I have been hooked. Then more recently I asked Andy to build me my second dream bike - a cross between a gravel and a MTB - something that could take me on off road adventures but still be light and nimble like I had got used to with the Lynskey. Also - something I can use for off road touring. Again I was reliant on Andy to recommend what would be most suitable as I hadnt been able to find what I wanted anywhere else. I let him know what I wanted to use it for, and he got it totally right again with B'Spoke frame (titanium again) and a Lauf carbon suspension fork. Components again are SRAM. The resulting B'Spoke machine is absolutely wonderful - it and I can go almost anywhere now. Due to COVID restriction so far I've not really had too many opportunities to take full advantage of my newest addition - but I did manage to complete the full Mawson Outback Odyssey (15 days off road tour from Adelaide to Flinders Ranges) and the bike was definitely perfect for that magnificent ride. I highly recommend Andy to provide what you want, it may cost a fair bit but bikes of this quality do anywhere and especially custom built, but the end results of Andy's work are fabulous - like works of art. I felt totally privileged to have such a knowledgeable and creative person deliver what I was looking for. Thanks Andy
Purchased a groupset from their eBay store and was sent a SRAM Rival rear derailleur instead of the advertised Force. The owner said he couldn't send me a Force derailleur as he needed the only one he had in stock to sell in another groupset, but he would if I paid another $300 (difference in RRP is about $150)! He eventually folded and sent me the Force derailleur after I launched a PayPal dispute. Follow up: You did not load the wrong photo, your listing specifically said that the groupset included a Force RD. I explained that I did not want a refund as the shifters were very difficult to obtain at the time, but offered to send back the derailleurs for a partial refund and keep the shifters, which you ignored. As you are aware, under Australian consumer law, the buyer has the choice of whether they want a refund or replacement where the item is not as described, not the seller. I contacted eBay who confirmed the review was removed in error, however, it could not be reinstated at that point, hence this review. It was a lot of effort to simply get what I ordered for the price I paid for it.
Found this shop on google when i was looking for a bike fitter. In his website, it says 150$ per hour so I went ahead and booked a time. It started well, he seemed to be a nice guy. he gave me tips on how to ride a bike, which was alright- but this was part of the bike fit according to the website. An hour after he charged me $340 for the fit and brake pads. I couldnt believe myself since a professional physio bike fitter who will measure you and provide reports and follow ups costs $250/hour. I rang him when i got home just to confirm if he really meant to charge me 340 and not like 190 or 240 but he said yes and thats because he taught me a lot ogf things during the session- but again that was supposed to be part of the session. Long story short, i got ripped off. i still feel bad up to now, he seemed to be a nice guy but yeah.
Bespoke Wheel Build - bigger rider At 190cm & 90kg I’m towards the top end for off-the-rack wheels. It’s been on ongoing challenge to find wheels that are well performed and durable. BikePRO custom mated “Bespoke” 50mm carbon tubeless-ready rims to Chris King R45 ceramic hubs laced with Sapam CX spokes 20F/24R. After a couple of of months of hard riding they remain true and reliable. Ride quality is every bit as good as my ENVE 4.6 tubulars (rear re-spoked by BikePRO to improve cornering performance). BikePRO advocate more maintenance rather than less for wheels, hubs etc and I’ll definitely continue with this practise. Keep up the great work BikePRO.
Hands-down THE BEST bike shop in Melbourne. When it comes to cycling, Andy is a fountain of knowledge of all aspects of the sport; mechanical, equipment, bike-fit and training. He has saved my bacon far too many times, and very often whilst I was in the shop waiting for his help, we would go out of his way to help all the people who came into his shop too. He sells a high quality range of titanium bikes, each custom built to customer specs too. It's how shops used to be; run by the owner who also is an artisan of his trade. It's a proper bike-shop.
I went to Andy for a bike fit on my previous bike and I ended up buying a titanium Lynskey from him. The bike is a real beauty, rides well, looks good. Nick built it up using parts I brought in and it was built solidly. A good bike fit will revolutionize your ride and Andy is pretty good at it. Sells a premium product, these are American made titanium frames, but if you really want a titanium bike you might be surprised how much you can pick one up for during end of season sales.
Andy has just built my first complete dream bike and it is fantastic . His build options enabled me to get a build I simply could not get off the shelf. His attention to detail and extensive knowledge ensured a stress free process. I have a set of wheels that he built 6 years ago that are still going strong. I have also bought a Lynskey frame off him and a steel frame. All still going strong. Listen to him, be guided by him, spend the money you should and there will be no regrets.
Have been a regular customer of Bikepro since purchasing my Lynskey R230 in 2014. The service has always been first rate. Repairs are done to my complete satisfaction and in a timely manner. Very professional. However, today Andy even exceeded his normally high standards. I brought my bike in (unannounced) with a failed front Di2 deraiulleur. It was ready for collection fixed within an hour!! Andy had be back on the road with no "down time"! Thanks so much Andy!
I recently purchased a B'Spoke Model 1. During the presale and bike fitting stages I found Andy to be professional in approach and more than willing to share his deep knowledge of the bike world. There was no pressure on time to make a decision or to upgrade to higher spec's. The end result is a bike that I think is both stunning to look at and the most comfortable bike I have been on.
I've utilised Andy's service, skill and knowledge for a few years now and I can attest to his workmanship. With that trust and my own appreciation for quality, Andy pieced together a B'Spoke Titanium frame with the fantastic SRAM Rival AXS group set. Thank you BikePro for bringing life and adventure back into my cycling. True to his word, the B'Spoke One can do just about anything.
I have been going to the Bikepro (Andy) for over 4 years. Excellent service, brilliant knowledge sharing and provides valuable advice. Finally I decided to have a bike fit just about 3 weeks ago. What a difference it made. I managed to save nearly 2 minutes of my PB in 1:20. That was the very first ride after the bike fit. It made a huge difference. A big thank you to Andy.
I’ve purchased a B’spoke Unity Force at Bikepro and recently had my bike pre-fit. I would like to thanks Andy for recommend the best possible setup and ride advised. Andy provide guidance positions and pedaling stroke for an increased power output. I can’t wait to pick up my bike next week and have my final fit to have my first long ride.
Ohh bike pro this is where you're at. I remember saving up money for buying bike parts off this shop when it used to be on whitehorse road and when I was a kid. I would come back to this shop just for the nostalgia maybe spend all my cash since I have a full time job now. Nothing but good memories for me from bike pro!
Great service by Andy who replaced my bike chain and serviced my bicycle. So prompt, helpful and reasonably priced. This will be my go-to bicycle shop now. Got another bicycle needing a look so guess who will be back here soon. Parking right in front of the shop except from 6.30pm for a few hours.
Loved having my bike repaired. Owner is a very nice bloke and he checked a few other things other than what he had to for free. He also taught me a new thing on how to see cycle routes Highly recommend
Bike service was incomplete, and when I rode home the tyre pressure was so low I couldn't ride it. When I went for a proper ride the gears were slipping. Not what you expect for a $200 service.
Great service. I had a flat tire which they fixed within 10 min. Just a new tube and I could be on the road again. Very good prices i would say as well. I paid $20 for the tube and the service.
It's always a great experience shopping at BikePro - the home of Melbourne's most experienced and knowledgeable wheel builder, and some of the best custom titanium bikes. Highly recommended.
Andy is a real professional and gentleman - someone who really know what he is doing with bikes! He is generous with his time and service as he goes above and beyond - helping customers.
Very helpful staff. Fixed a small problem I came in for and addressed another problem for free I didn't even know my bike had. Also provided plenty of useful advice for a new cyclist.
Make sure you get a price for any work to be done.$10 for 1 spoke and $40 labor to fit and true the wheel that i removed from the bike. There are plenty of bike shops avoid this one.
Andy’s cycling knowledge is second to none! He is a live cycling dictionary! He doesn’t talk much, because all his efforts are put into your bike service.
Andy is a genius. I take all my bikes for service and parts at Bikepro. Real quality service at affordable prices. Would recommend this place to anyone.
Andy and the team are extremely knowledgeable and the best bike mechanics I have been to in a long time. The job gets done and done well.
