The staff is kinda whack, new ownership messed up the smooth flow of laundry drop off. You have to pay extra to get your laundry done in a mannerly time, otherwise you have to wait almost a week to get your clothes back because people can just pay more to jump the line. Really screws things up when you’re low on cash and work too much to have time to sit at the laundromat. I gave a 5 star review years ago, but now it’s 1 because of all the poor changes and money grabbing. On top of that, over the past couple months I’ve had clothes returned shrunk, clothes have gone missing and my entire bag was given away to someone who lives across town. All of these complaint I’ve made in private are just met with “we don’t know what to about it”. I’ve been dropping off my laundry here for 6 years. Edit: found a new spot up by Washington and Broad called The WASHington Laundromat. They have many more machines, offer better services, have coffee and TV’s, plus a lounge area for children and adults. It’s cheaper and nicer and the staff is all family members that are really enthusiastic.

Recently came to New Orleans for a weeklong business trip and I way under packed. I needed someplace to do laundry so I could make it through the rest of the week with clean clothes. I saw this BGWF as a Google recommendation, I was not disappointed. They offer coin laundry (do it yourself) and a paid full laundry service. The staff here washed, dried, and folded my clothes for a great price! They even paired up all my socks! I was able to run errands and leave the laundromat without worry of my clothes being lost or stolen AND later received a call from them notifying me that my clothes were ready for pickup. THE BEST PART: they had found a $10 bill in my pocket of my jeans and told me they'd pay my bill with it and leave the change attached to the finished order of clothes. True integrity. Outstanding service!

Be very careful washing here…I washed her a week ago and is missing over 3 pairs of name brand pants..boxer briefs..and white socks..I always would wash here and sit in my car right in front of the door I guess you have to guard your belongings by standing in front of your machines now…another lady that works there if I’m not mistaken mentioned how someone stole her pajama bottoms…So if you wash here please be mindful of someone stealing your clothes a couple of ft away from you…I WILL NOT BE BACK!!

It's a small, rundown, hole-in-the-wall kind of place but it has everything you need. I went on a Friday evening after work and was in and out in under an hour because of the Quick Wash and fast dryers. The attendant was helpful and had no problem giving me cash back since I never have change on me. They also sell small detergent bottles at around $6 if you forget to bring your own. The machines are a bit pricey, but so are most laundromats nowadays. Overall great neighborhood laundromat!

I drop my laundry off almost weekly. Always comes back folded and clean! I’ve also sat and done my laundry and there’s enough space to get the job done & a coin machine AND ATM (cash only for drop offs & coin only for machines) — usually adore the staff helping behind the counter. I’ve had a couple things here and there come back less than stellar but nothing’s ever been ruined, just stiff or (once) sticky? But that’s once or twice over dozens of times!

I do wash and fold here and have for probably 7 years! New owner has made this place so much better! I’m here every week and so is my coworker. Laundry always smells good and meticulously folded. Also do the membership! I earned enough points to get 50% off. Everyone here is friendly and they remember me every time. That goes a long way for me! I appreciate them and their creative ways of taking the service up a notch! Thank you BAGWAF!

Love the wash and fold service here. Dude behind the counter was totally friendly and chill. All our 20 something pounds of clothes from my family of four clothes were clean and nicely folded. we dropped off a big luggage in the morning and picked it up in the evening for a fair price ($1.15 per pound)! Would definitely come back again whenever we are back in town!

Decent little place with quite a few machines. The attendants are pretty helpful and anytime I've ever had a problem they've always fixed it. Plus I belive they offer different services like washing and drying your clothes for you then you just pick them up or sometimes they'll have something going on where you can get a free wash or dry which is pretty cool.

I have been coming to Black and Gold Wash & Fold ever since I began living in the city. It’s not only a place for washing clothes, but it’s a neighborhood landmark. More importantly, the staff here do an excellent job of taking care of my clothes as well as provide great deals. I recommend this place to everyone I know that moves to the neighborhood.

Friendly & helpful staff. Too many dryers are broken or low heat only to accommodate all the washers at a very busy time of day & week. I did a search for laundromat near me and they came up as closest and open till 8 pm . I walked 20 minutes to the location and arrived at 6:40 pm was told last wash is at 6:30. I told the attendant I did not mind if my clothes were not completely dry at 8 I would remove them either way was told no way last wash is at 6:30

Attendants are always very friendly and accomodating. Folds are very orderly. I don't usually get a call letting me know when my laundry is done, but my office is around the corner so I just pop in at the end of the day to pickup. Prices are reasonable. Cash only, and there is an ATM (but it goes down sometimes).

Long before I started picking up shifts here, this is where we did our laundry every week. Cleaner than any other laundromat in town, as cool as the A/C & ceiling fans can keep it with all the dryers running, & a comfortable “waiting area” with snack & coke machine. I pass 3 other laundromats to come to this one!

my wife and I were on vacation on our scooter and got caught in a thunder burst. instead of sitting in a coin laundry, wasting an hour of vacation, we dropped off our wet clothes. we recieved a text when they were done and picked them up at our leasure. everything was cleaned and nicely folded. very efficient.

Margaret I hope u read this and I hope the rest of those in need of her advice when peace of mind clashed when a guest at a B&B left wet towels on down comforters. Wet, Mildew, smells rotten. This lovely angel with the beautiful smile n a Blondie t-shirt took crazed cleaners and solved n comforted them.

Wash and fold service only: they do a fantastic job with the wash and fold. Everything smells clean and comes out nicely folded. But they need to maintain their building and parking lot. My car sustained damage when pulling out of their spaces due to poor upkeep of the parking lot and road.

Loved that there was parking, for an uptown laundromat. Very interesting place, kinda artsy with all the bits in place: friendly clerk who made us change for the machined, all the various detergents, softeners, and a covered area outside to take advantage of the breeze while you wait.

I haven’t use a laundromat in a while. This one was great. It was clean and all of the machines worked and worked well. The attendant was very helpful and pleasant and kept the place up. I had visited like 2-3 other laundromats which were all well below the standard of this place.

This place is great! The washers are big enough that I usually just use for all my laundry! Everyone there is really friendly and doesn't mind my 11 month old running around being nosey. The dryers are giant and fast too so it doesn't take too long to get your clothes done!

Love the staff! Though my white did not seemed to be dealt with well, they came back dull and hardly looked clean. Also folding needs to improve everything is kind of folded in haft and tossed in the bag and socks are even attempted to be matched. Will try them again

Definitely will wash my clothes here all the time the girl who was working tonight was playing great music and interacted with everyone she was making us laugh and it was the best experience I’ve had in a laundromat in a long time shout out to her she’s DOPE

It was clean & the staff was super helpful. My only complaint is the dryers all had labels warning you to open at 1min so you could check for dryness, but the timer didn't actually stop. So you were on the hook for another $1 and 20-30min regardless.

Got to hotel after traveling for two weeks. We looked online for a laundromat. Black and Gold was close and easy to find.. We had two large loads. Washers were clean. They have an on-site change machine. Employee was kind and very helpful.

Loved it! Was visiting from out of town and they did all of our laundry in a matter of hours and re-packed it into our bags for us. They did seem to sort of over do things with the dryer heat which slightly damaged one of my wool shirts.

Always helpful ! Never had a bad experience here . There's an ollder man that hangs out shure has a few good story's while you do a load. The young lady that works there is a peach! The gentleman who works there is polite and attentive!

The laundry mat had a variety of different washing machines from small to large, as well as dryers and all the necessities to clean your clothes like washing detergent, etc. the guy working there was also really friendly and helpful

I paid for the laundry service to have some comforters cleaned and after I got them back and pulled them out they were all lumpy which indicates it was not dried properly. Fast service but at the cost of quality. Won't be back.

i really like doing my laundry here but its pretty grody. Hasn't been cleaned in a looong time. The same crud been on the table the last 3 weeks. My hands always have a grubby film on them when i leave here …

Reasonable price. Free wifi. Very quick and efficient washer and dryers. Really everything one would expect from a laundromat. They did have a mini library so plenty to read while waiting. No complaints.

Been coming for a while now and been a pretty decent place to wash clothes. Lots of different machines plus they pretty much always have someone in the front in case you need help with something.

Very clean with extremely pleasant and helpful staff. Only three parking places and relatively small, but it was not crowded. The staff is much friendlier than at Magazine Laundromat at Valence.

The building is old and the inside needs a paint job. It has quite a few washers & dryers. The attendant is nice. Thankful that I found this one because the others in the area were a bit scary.
