When I go to this post office, I go during the lunch hour in hope of avoiding the long lines. But I too have been caught up in lines of over an hour. Further, they seem to change their hours on the fly at whim. Worse, some behind the counter and those that work for the Saks Off 5th give me attitude at the idea that I would expect service at 4:30pm, when they're supposed to be open for hours longer. Currently, I'm dealing with the fact that I left a package with them and it has gone completely missing, didn't start tracking after it was dropped off. Also, their computer technology here is outdated and they cannot generate a receipt for your package drop-off.

I would have given 0 stars, but that's not an option. The people are fine, it's the location that sucks. They should close and reopen someplace in the byward market where they can have parking and easier accessibility. Don't order large boxes, you'll have to park far away, and then carry it up a flight of stairs, and through a department store. Who decided that having a post office in the basement of a department store was a good idea?? What sucks most is that this is the closest post office to my residence, so letters or parcels that can't be delivered while I'm not home automatically go here. FlexDelivery to anywhere else is my new go-to.

I went to pick up a parcel and the girl said it's not there yet, however, the slip indicates otherwise. An hour later, the girl calls me to say that it was there all along and that she couldn't see it at first (she didn't really look for it because when I handed her the slip, in her mind, she already thinks it's not there from her statement: "it's probably not here yet and you may have to come back to pick up")! Beyond ridiculous and caused unnecessary inconvenience!!!

There really shouldn’t be a line of 15+ people waiting. You need to hire more than one person because it’s always the same guy working alone. Update: they seem to have shortened their store hours. I arrived yesterday to pick up my package from a delivery slip and they somehow didn’t get their delivery that day and told me to come back tomorrow. I’m back right now, and waiting because despite being open, no one is working the counter. You need to hire more people.

The worst Canada Post store ever. Both the opening hours indicated on their notification card, google map and their official website are not correct. Or even, the store is just closed. My parcel had arrived to their store last week and I still cannot pick it up because they do not have an accurate opening hours indicated anywhere. The agent is not polite neither and impatient. AVOID IF YOU CAN DO SO

Solid 3 star service. I haven't had huge problems with the service, except for one time when they were going to charge me $11 for a parcel when it should've been around $2 lettermail. Thankfully I have experience with shipping and have done estimate shipping beforehand, or else I would've been ripped off by 9 dollars, wow! Wait is sometimes slow and long, especially on weekends.

A post office in a basement at the back of a huge store is not convenient. Today, I went in as it is my "neighbourhood" post office and it had a sign that it was closed from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. A woman was there, and she told me she hadn't had a break yet, and wouldn't be back till 3 pm. This is very poor service. A post office needs to be conveniently located with regular hours.

I arrived at around 5:20pm to drop off a package but the post office already closed, despite the Canada Post website stating they close at 7pm. A sign posted said they close at 5:30pm and you can go to the Canada Post at the Rexall on Rideau. So I walked up the road to the Rexall, but there was no Canada Post there.

It's an ok Canada Post office. Nothing extra special about this one. It's in a basement, so can be hard to find unless you actually know it's there, or ask around. It's very convenient though, being so close to many businesses. It allows for people to mail parcels and letters during a work break, or lunch. Cheers

I've only ever had great experiences with this post office- the staff does their best with what they have, are always friendly and professional, and make drop-offs simple and quick. I've been having to go elsewhere during the lockdown, and it's really driven home how much I miss this location's efficiency.

Shame there isn’t an option for 0 stars. This location is horribly understaffed, often having only one staff member for an endless line of customers. Sometimes it is even just randomly closed early. Staff are usually pleasant but management is really failing their employees and customers.

  • Simon

Lines can be very slow. I've seen staff leaning back on the counter and yawning with their mouth gaping open when there's a huge line, zero inclination to help the waiting customers. I found some, but definitely not all, of the staff to be completely apathetic. Hit and miss service.

  • Chantal Easy

Great service. The only issue. I Showed up at 10:15 was told post office doesn’t open until 11:00. Card I received from Canada Post and Google say they open at 10:00. Wasted 45 min of my work time sitting in my car plus paying for parking. Someone needs to update times

  • Aluphyn

I went in with a letter in an open enveloppe to be posted internationaly, there was 1 person in each of the 2 lines, they sold me an international stamp, closed the enveloppe, made me pay for the stamp and posting and that's all there was to it. In and out 3 minutes.

  • Vaibhav Kulkarni

This place is located in the basement of Hudson's Bay, easy to find as they have directions to get there. The post office has two counters and the staff is polite and helpful. Dropped my packages, in and out, 5 minutes. However, they do not have printing services.

  • Jeff Blackman

Very helpful staff who keep the line moving and give good advice (best size envelopes or boxes). The place is spacious enough for folks to line up six feet apart and there are counters where you can assemble your package. Can't say enough good things about 'em!

  • Serena B

I’ve only had adequate experiences here. Nothing bad, nothing incredible. Standard, completely normal experiences. It’s my go-to for shipping parcels because it’s straight to the point and simple and I never experience lines or inappropriate behaviour.

  • Mazur

The notice I got for missed delivery could be a little more descriptive than "the bay"... It's hidden underground in the back of the huge store. By the time I found it it was already closed even though I was there 15mins before supposed closing time.

Canada post The future of mail is work and credibility with customers and cleanliness of the place, as well as speed in an organized manner, not in a fast way so that there is no error. This is the future of mail. We must pay attention to

  • Jack Hickey

I’m not sure what’s going on with this place. There were signs around for Canada Post, but I couldn’t actually find it? Reading the other reviews now it seems like maybe you have to go down a floor. I asked employees in the mall and one

  • Evelyn Sun

ZERO POINT! Worst Post office EVER. What do you mean “unforseen circumstances? “? You mean U WANNA GO HOME EARLY??? If you guys are closing at 5PM permanently, update it on your google map!! People have to come to the post office after

  • Rob Hastings

Everytime I’ve gone here there has been long lines and service is very slow. Waiting 30-45 minutes in line to pick up a parcel is ridiculous. Canada Post needs to staff this location appropriately, this is unacceptable

  • EJ

This place is literally never open during its advertised hours. Always the same sign saying they had to close due to unforeseen circumstances. It’s foreseen if it’s every day. Don’t come. They’re probably closed.

  • Garfield Seaton

Was in and out in about 15mins. The CSR (with the Indian accent) was very patient in listening to what I wanted to get done and quite helpful. Thank you. Keep being an example for others to follow. Blessings

  • GLD

Maybe you guys don’t care about the reviews! Make an update for the hours it’s very simple for others companies We’re not supposed to write all the time the same thing You’re POST CANADA So just do it.

  • Alex O'Grady

The people are sweet and fast but there's never enough staff. I have waited in line for over an hour just to pick up a package because there's only been 1 employee dealing with a 10 person line up.

  • no thx

1 person serving 9 people in line can't print return labels already paid for make you walk outside and pay a printing service one lady who works here is super nice and friendly, and apologetic

  • Jamie Walker

Easily the worst post office in the city. Debit/credit machines that don’t ever seem to work and closing hours that change on the fly without updates to this business page. Garbage service.

  • L.L KH

this post office won't print out any mail tracking label for you, no scanning, no photocopy, no faxing, nothing, just do your payment for no service. Is the service of post canada a joke?

  • Amanda Lane

Extremely understaffed. I am consistently there for 45 mins when trying to pick up a package. Extremely frustrating. Staff are nice but move very slowly.

  • Jarrett Hather

I was next, and still I waited 15 minutes in line. The person behind me just gave up and left. It could have took a half hour to serve him after me.

  • Somesh Sivakumar

Was skeptical about the center since I read the bad reviews but, they did a exceptionally good service. Totally recommend it!!

  • Philippe L

They close at 5 on Wednesdays not 8. I'm at least thankful 3 employees were there to tell me they couldn't do anything for me

  • Michelle Lalonde

Service was great, but it was hard to find. In the basement of The Bay tucked away in the far West Corner.

  • Gregory Sloan

Waited over an hour with sign saying "will be right back" no employee. Totally below standard.

  • Tanner Irwin-Roberston

Took a 20 minute bus to rideau to see it's closed and hour earlier than Google hours say.

  • Carl Schaler

Hours are INCORRECT They close @ 5Pm on weekdays. Otherwise no complaint.

  • Madina Kanayeva

Always a wonderful experience, helpful and understanding staff!

  • McQueen Zhao

Kinda hard to access but otherwise regularly post office.

  • Barely Visible

Service itself is good but waiting line is too long.
