Food was discusting and I now have really bad indigestion/ and very strong pains in my stomach as the rice in garlic prawns had Indian spices and the prawns were hard, dry, even hard to cut. It's not an Indian dish. I am not racist, I am now sick I cannot eat spices. My husbands roast Turkey was thin slices like you buy from the deli, processed meat, as you can see in the photo, my daughters fish and chips tasted like the oil was weeks old, filtering your fryers is different to changing the oil. Deserts, well, wat can I say they didn't disappoint, that was just as bad.. Apple turnovers was from woollies or coles along with the custard in a carton, Tried again now failed, will never go back... . Food was Terrible. TERRIBLE Terrible......and cause we complained, the staff became rude. We didn't want our money back, the head of staff and the cook should be careful with what they say, but you definately will not get anymore. Would definately NOT Recommend

We booked for a group of 30 friends and while the food was acceptable 'pub' quality, the prices were commented by most as higher than expected. The $30 Brisket Burger looked like a kid's portion and my grilled barramundi was cancelled and swapped for unknown fried fish and chips - advised at the table as 'unavailable'. Barramundi was ordered later by others and arrived without issue. This is not table service or particularly different to any pub. At the entrance, our elderly ladies were asked not to walk through the gambling area to the dining that we could see straight ahead. "You can't go that way darl" was called out to stop our group. We were directed to a smaller walkway past the toilets. Gambling clearly the priority. Our guests were shocked at $21 for 250ml glass of average wine ($16 for 125ml). The ordering was very slow and repeated instructions misunderstood. Our first visit - and our last.

A very popular venue in the area. The menu should appeal to most people. Typical Bistro set up. The only negative is there is no bar in the bistro, it's a short walk on the other side of the Foyer. They also have a great kids playroom behind glass walls, so it is more quiet but parents can keep an eye on their children.

Make sure to have your ID on you for a lemon lime bitters!! I originally asked for a vodka lemon lime and bitters as a clearly of age person after my partner was poured a beer. Instantly asked for ID, didn’t have it. No problem. Asked for just a plain lemon lime bitters instead. The lady who often is behind the bar on a Wednesday night pulled out the power trip card and smugly came out with “the bitters contains alcohol you will need to show ID”. What a joke? 0.2% content… grow up. Decided not to waste my money paying her wage. Was followed with a scream across the pub “HAVE A LOVELY EVENING” - how embarrassing…. Time for Castellos to reassess their front of house staff.

Very pleased to see the changes with the renovations. I haven't been here for a long time. Different areas to suit the needs for all. Small sports/public bar, another sport's bar style area, a restaurant style bistro dining area with a large children's playground area and a Pokies Gaming area. Friendly and courteous staff with quick and friendly service. Ample parking areas with easy access from all parking areas. The meal was delicious and service was prompt with a friendly smile. I like the concept that you can either walk up and place your meal orders or utilise the bar code payment ordering service.

What a disaster for my 60th Birthday meal. Booked for 10 people. 2 senior grilled fish sent back as cold, then came back like rubber and tasteless. The 4 steaks were cold and the porterhouse looked like Scotch fillet. The schnitzel and ribs were look warm but gravy stone cold. The only decent meal was the 2 scallopine . What a disappointment as we paid for all the meals. I know it wasn’t the first complaint of the night as 3 ladies next to us asked for manager before us. Sue the manager for the night was very apologetic and did not charge for the seniors meals. Will not be back nor our friends.

I wrote this 7 month ago "Enjoyable food, friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere". I cannot repeat this review, the food wasn't great. An order of "fish and chips, no salad" was served as overdone battered fish with boiled potatoes. The rocket and fennel salad served with my meal was tiny and without any dressing. The atmosphere has totally changed, loud music and couldn't care staff. No query about why one meal was returned virtually uneaten. I won't be dining here again in a hurry.

Was there for a work function about 30 of us we all had to order together mine came first chicken tenders in sauce and vegetables I was given a spoon to eat it with and somehow cut the chicken. Someone from our group got me a knife and fork hoping it was a once off all the rest of the meals came but no cuterly at all again we had to find some it took time but we fixed it..after eating the food it didn't have that feeling of I can't wait to have that again the food was cooked rushed and that flowedfown to the customers

  • Monique Gibson

Recently visited with family and we honestly all enjoyed the meals. Not one complaint and everyone commented how good the food was. Perhaps more vegetarian meals would be good too. We had no issues with the cost as it's standard pub prices really. Ordering meals at your table was super easy however we had to go to the bar due to limited drinks available on the online ordering system. The staff were great but one lady seemed like she needed a dose of happy pills to work in customer service. Would definitely go back.

  • Margaret Cooper

Ordered roast pork it was like pork you get from the deli, the taste was disgusting, the crackling smelt greasy I didn't even try that, for fear of getting sick. The worst meal I have ever had, I ate some of the vegetables, but even they weren't the best...will never go there again, get a real chef with real food or you won't be in business long. And to top it off I hadn't been out for a meal for a long time, my son took me out for my birthday and it was a great disappointment

  • Laura Hickey

The play area is nice and clean, and has activities for all ages. The staff are helpful and friendly. The food isn't fantastic, but hey, it's pub food; you can't expect much more than that! Pro tip though: don't get the brownie - it's more like a pudding/chocolate cake, and the menu will say it's accompanied by "strawberries" but mine was served with a single half haha. The serving sizes are pretty generous though, so I probably didn't need to order dessert in the first place

  • Linda Dee

I'd like to congratulate the chef on tonight, they're the first to completely f up cous cous, the most basic of foods to cook! Ordered the Moroccan chicken, got bland chicken with barely any spice on a slop bed of cous cous. Worst meal I've had, and barely managed to get some of it down without bringing it right back up. Both meals ordered, other a pulled beef burger with minimal chips were way over priced. Never again!

Extremely disappointed with the meals at Castello’s. Eight of us dined there for lunch with every meal a disappointment. The ‘open’ souvlaki (photo provided) was far from what it should have been. Other meals may have looked so so, but tasted terrible. They have a booking app so you order the meals and drinks on your device, but sadly everyone who did this never received their drinks, then had to show proof of purchase when asking why we had not received them.

  • Donna S

Staff were great. I ordered the Brushetta entree to start with and asked if they would mind substituting goat’s cheese for feta. The chef was accomodating. It was delicious. I then had the seniors barramundi chips and salad. Chips a little over done but the perfect size plate when ordering entree! Lady bartenders were great!!

Bistro is a nice place to dine, and menu had a decent selection. Prices were decent too but we had to wait quite a while for many meals we ordered, including kids meals. Most of the dishes we were served were quite oily, and 2 dishes had to be sent back - one chicken dish was served not properly cooked, and another rice dish was soaked in garlic and was inedible. The rest of the meals ordered were satisfactory but overall experience wasn’t great.

  • Alex Anagnostopoulos

Mum and I ended up at Castello's due to some disgusting treatment from the staff at The Drake. Have to say, we were pleasantly surprised. Efficient & friendly service, loved the ordering process with your phone and although it was maybe a little pricey, we thought the food was delicious. We'd almost certainly return, but maybe on a weeknight rather than a weekend when there's less kids. They were a bit noisey for us oldies, but otherwise, great!

Worst meal I’ve ever had, paid $33 for the lamb souva and received boiled lamb sitting in water with fat deposits and undercooked chips. The flat bread was stiff and tasted like cardboard. My partner got the calamari and it was rubbery. The only edible meal was my son’s bolognaise penne. My whole family came for a lunch and every single one of them was disappointed with their meals. Would never go back. Do not recommend.

  • Ben LONGDEN

Passing through Pakenham on one of our random trips, and decided to call in for a meal. It was great. The prices were fair, but the servings HUGE... and they were great. So. Anyone passing through, definitely put this place on your list. Parking: On site, plenty of spaces. Wheelchair access; Not a problem in the car parks,a disabled access bay near the front door. Access into the venue front and back is easy.

  • Ange Smith

Turned up at 630 no booking 25 people they did amazing to fit us In the staff were great and very helpful all night. Amazing job by 2 chefs to get all our meals out around the same time and all tasting yummy. Definitely will be back for sure and letting others know what a great place you are running.

Firstly they need to distinguish between the three different venues a bit better. The waitresses did just not want to be there they made the experience uncomfortable with the sighs, looks and service. However the older staff were much more friendly and approachable. Their attitude towards work and everyone was exactly how you'd want it to be when your entire family is there trying to have a nice dinner.

  • Kim Domjahn

Friendly, Efficient Staff who do an excellent job, but please note management, if you understaff your venue then not only do your Customers suffer, so do your Staff and your reputation, which I know I should not have to state to a Costello's venue, but it was clearly understaffed when I visited. The 5 stars are for the Staff on the day. 4 for the Venue, 3.5 for Management as I know they do better

My garlic prawns came without garlic. The waitress removed my dad's senior meal from the order. Cos she didn't understand I wanted to pay for that meal separately. Had to order it again. And it came with raw veggies and extremely over cooked meat. My partner ordered a steak and one end of it was raw. clearly there has been a change of chefs. Cos the last time I was here. Everything was amazing.

Absolutely shocking tonight. We got 3 kids meals out of about 8 first they had well and truly finished before they bought out just 1 main meal out of 11 adults then got a couple extra adults meals. Most adult meals where cold when they got to the table, finally the last couple of kids meals came out. Was absolutely shocking!!!!!! All up took about 40 minutes to get all the meals to the table

  • Erin Fono

Can not fault this Restaurant. Absolutely beautiful atmosphere, fantastic food and the Play area was awesome for the kids. We had a table for 7 which was spacious. I had the Risotto, which was perfectly cooked and very tasty, my husband had the steak , cooked to perfection, the kids had a Parma and nugget.. Highly recommend for lovely food, friendly staff and fun for the kids.

Most meals were very good, some could have used a little more on the plate but it all was very tasty. The burger I had could have been seared with the bourbon sauce instead of putting it on top of the patty as the heat made the sauce runny and made it so I had to keep dining my burger in the sauce on the plate. But still very tasty
