Absolute pig runs it. I waited patiently for service while he chatted to his mates. Then when he finally came over within about 20 seconds his mb ph in his top pocket rang while I was in the middle of asking him what I was looking for. He then takes out his ph, rudely makes. "Stop" (talking) hand signal in my face to answer another customer & starts talking shop to them. So I walk away fuming at such disgusting behaviour & make a call of my own. When I finished I walked right past him again chatting to his mates & go to the counter again waiting to be served. Ten minutes pass. His mechanic is packing up, also ignored me even though 5 metres away. It's now 5 minutes til closing so I'm frustrated. So I ask "can you please serve me?" Him: "No." & keeps working. So I go outside stand near the boss & ask "are you going to serve me?" It says "I didn't see you waiting" Me: "You interrupted me to answer your phone!" Him: "I did not! And I resent you saying that!" By now was very aggressive in his manner & tone as he had clearly been caught out. But instead of apologising & serving me becomes nasty, lies and tried to blame ME!! (For what Requesting service??! ) I was so angered by his unecessary and aggressive manner that I stated "And I resent that you are a liar" (Which he was) Well, that flipped him out. Most of his comments after that I can't repeat here. One that stands out as it just proves to me he is sexist was: "We don't serve dogs in here" along with a barrage of other gutter talk & filth as I was leaving. All because he clearly can't handle facts: 1) The "service" was utterly appalling 2) He is clearly a woman hater 3) Is either blind, or was deliberately ignoring me waiting (either way under the circumstances was not okay) 4) Is a liar. (Denying he interrupted me to answer another customer when I was right there & walked away as a result is just dumb!) 5) Can give it, but can't take it & expects women to tolerate his nasty attitude but cannot tolerate a woman pointing out his faults & NOT tolerating his Neanderthal tactics. 6) To top it all, the prices of goods I did see (without any help) were just insanely overpriced compared to what you can get online (Ebay / grays online just google the goods : easy to find). So he's also a rip off. 7) This one I'm not 100% sure, but do believe it: a competitor of his I spoke to said he has altered or only brought & provided products that have been rigged to force consumers to have to bring their bikes back to him. (Eg: apparently you can't by their batteries anywhere else) yet they don't tell consumers. I'm guessing there is some illegal, & definitely immoral, aspect to doing this. So I highly suggest you don't go to this business (especially women). Or if you do, expect to be spoken down to like a second rate thing, & expect to be ripped off.

My initial dealings with this business were fine. Got an electric conversion fitted to my existing bike. No problem and I was happy with the results. However the charger for the battery they supplied me was the wrong one and started to smoke/smell one day when I plugged it in. I took both back for investigation and they told me it was the wrong charger and I was "lucky I hadn't burned my house down and didn't damage the battery". I went home and thoroughly investigated and this is the ONLY charger I had for this battery. I have absolutely no other devices that take that kind of charger! Neither, as he had insinuated, had anyone else been to my house where the chargers could have become swapped. When I went back and tried to explain that there had been no confusion my end and this was, indeed, the charger they had supplied they instantly became very aggressive and denied they had supplied that charger. Instead of offering to exchange the charger he came out with a thunderous expression and immediately called me a "stupid woman"... For all the people who have posted positive reviews just wait until you have an issue and you will then witness this man's rudeness! And, yeah, they ARE lucky it didn't cause a fire in my house as they would have been receiving a law suit and not just a bad review! Usually reputable businesses do not default to calling the customer a liar and instead try to resolve the issue for the sake of maintaining a good rating. In itself this is very telling. Not this business! BUYER BEWARE!!! The battery requires a unique plug that I haven't been able to find anywhere else. They wanted to charge me $100 to supply another charger but he was going to have to change the plug. Dodgy, dodgy, dodgy!!! No doubt he will write a scathing retort denying everything. I'm totally expecting that poor level of professionalism... If anyone gets a battery and charger from this business make sure the receipt shows the battery type and voltage and also shows the charger and voltage so you have something to take to Consumer Affairs as proof afterwards if needs be. My receipt didn't show this - of course!
If I were to recommend any place around Melbourne for someone to find trustworthy, honest, fast and loyal service with no pressure to shop for an electric bike, this would be the first name I would say. The workers here greeted us with enthusiastic attitudes and genuine smiles as we entered. They knew what they were selling as after being explained the details of the bikes, they left minimal questions left to be asked. When we could come up with a question it was answered in a language that was not to technical and made sense to those who are not to familiar with bikes. Unlike other salesmen, they had a no pressure approach to selling the bikes. After buying a couple, they showed us what tools they used to pull the bikes apart, where the parts went, step by step on how to reassemble them and then helped us lift the bikes to get them into the car! When we got them home (We are not a family that should work at IKEA) we had a few questions about how to put some parts back in. We called (even after opening ours of the store) and received support from a worker and he told us how to fix the issues we had. The service was flawless and I would have full confidence in recommending this to family and friends (I already have). 10/10
I purchased a Colt electric bike secondhand from someone and Laurie, the owner of Chituma - has been a pleasure to deal with. He was happy to answer questions on the phone when I initially bought it and has serviced my bike - even though I didn't purchase it directly from him. Every time my husband and I have been in his shop he has been friendly and helpful. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Chituma Colt bike! It is the best thing I have ever purchased and if it ever wears out I will buy a new one from Laurie. Whoever left the negative review of him is literally insane. Maybe a competitor??? Very highly recommended business. Thank you Laurie!
A very very rude an misleading owner, he got my money for 3 weeks for a back order e-bike. He said next week, the following week he said next week, the third week he became rude and unfriendly, he started yelling at me on the phone, he said he can't do anything for me, that is all he can do, he then ended the call! A professional business guy would at least say sorry for the delay and thanks for giving your money away for 3 weeks! Stay away from this story teller, a very very rude guy who shouldn't be allowed to run a business!
I posted on this site a negative review about the service received from this company. It was based on confusion and was incorrect. I formerly apologise to the owner and staff of this company for making such a statthat may of caused damage in any way to their reputation. They went out of there way to help me and I appreciate all what they have done. I shouldn't of allowed my mental illness and confusion to effect is business .
I live in far away Gippsland but followed a recommendation ( glad I did) to purchase my Venice Plus E-Bike. Fantastic machine and a good price. They arranged and prompt delivery to my small town and were a pleasure to deal with. When I made a mistake and needed some help they could not have been friendlier and helpful ... I am happily riding everywhere along the local coast... and fully recommend their business.
I highly recommend everyone to visit Chituma if you're interested in an ebike. The staff are very helpful, friendly and most importantly, highly knowledgeable. They are not only there to sell ebikes but advising and customising the bike to your own needs and will provide the best bike at the best price. Recently renovated with new models available. Quinny is the very friendly owner and will give a good deal.
I took my NCM bike to this shop to have some new tyres fitted along with a brake service. Brilliant results, what may have been a difficult tyre fitting ( because of clearance issues and very stiff tyres ) worked perfectly, the bike came back with perfectly tuned brakes and they were really helpful in doing the job . And the cost was way less than I thought it would be.
Extremely helpful and friendly service from the owners of CTMA, I took my scooter in to have its rear tyre fixed. Service was fast and very well priced. They have a great knowledge of all electric bikes and scooters.... I lIve 45km away from seaford, area but I'll be back when needed. Thanks for the great friendly service
My first purchase outside the UK and a smooth one at that. Due to covid it spent ages at the airport which I understood no reflect on the communication and service I received from Laurie first class and Australia post full tracking through out so once again thank you very much.

So friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond for their customers. Had an issue with a wheel, tested it for me, spoke to the manufacturer and swapped over a better one at no additional cost. Brilliant service.
Got an electric moped here nearly 3 years ago and is still going well. Had tire fixed here after copping a nail. Very reasonable prices to fix it and friendly service. Highly recommend their products.
