Lovely nature walk along Damper creek with various birds and other other creatures thriving in their natural habitats. There’s a pond and swamp area half way down and walking tracks run either side. It seems to be dog friendly but some owners let their dogs off the leash all the way along which I’m not sure is allowed or secure for young children. A great spot to cross over the creek on rocks and it really feels like you are not in the suburbs but in a wilderness area.
One of my favourite walks. A creek running the entire way surrounded by a beautiful view with many different tracks to take this walk in really peaceful and well kept. Rubbish bins at each entrance and a drinking fountain also a playground at main entrance with a small Carpark. Completely off lead this is definitely a spot to take your dogs as they can also Play in the water which is not deep and lots of different smells for them to enjoy.
A brilliant reserve to walk alongside the creek and nature. Although the reserve is linear, there is a circular trail either side of the creek. Dogs are allowed off leash which is great and there's plenty of bridges across the creek depending on how far you wish to walk. There's a dog fountain, dog waste bin with bags at the entrance, and the car park is quite small across the road. Really great for taking your dog for a walk.
A walk along the creek always reminds me of simple times. It’s roughly a 2km circuit all around, with varying places to cross over the water. Lovely to stroll through nature and hear the sound of the creek — a beautiful place to get away from the urban bustle. Would caution against visiting on super wet days, if only because the path does get quite sludgy and muddy but if you like that sort of thing, here you go!
Really lovely area where you can feel away from the city. So nice to have a space for wildlife in the middle of the suburbs. I only wish it were bigger. Great place for a short walk with the kids. Saw some tawny frogmouths and a kookaburra. Also cute little play area for kids of all ages. Love the leash free. Highly recommended.
Very convenient to have a nearby reserve to walk alongside the creek and the nature. There are some bridges, paths shortcuts, and stairs to gain alternative access to different routes at the reserve or suburbs. Also, one of the great spots to take photos of the creek and the nature surroundings.
The Damper Creek walking track offers a serene and enjoyable experience, perfect for various activities like walking your furry companions, jogging, or simply taking a leisurely stroll. The track's ease and the tranquil ambiance make it an ideal spot for unwinding and connecting with nature.
Beautiful place and very dog friendly . Dogs are allowed to run free from leash and trail is quite good. Water is available for dogs at both ends of park. Parking can be bit tricky at times , however is available off the road. It has a playground for kids at one of the ends
A surprisingly quiet strip of nature hidden amongst Mt Waverley! The walk is short but the trees and stream make you feel like you’re in the Dandenong ranges. We came on a sunny Saturday morning when the track wasn’t too busy, managed to walk the track in about 15 minutes.
Absolutely loved this park! It has plenty of trails make it interesting for you and your family as well as some wildlife if you know where to look. It's also very clean and the playground at one of the ends is a nice bonus. A real oasis in the city.
NO LONGER OFF-LEASH( changed 1st July 2023) there is now a dedicated area for off leash activities along the walk(indicated on the map). Changed due to remnant vegetation protection while other areas in monash council opened up to off leash
A beautifully landscaped and heavily treed, linear park about a kilometre long with a few seats, lots of well kept paths and a modest amount of grassy area. Very well maintained by council and volunteers. Very good protection from hot sun
Gorgeous spot, really feels like stepping straight from the suburbs into the bush. Wattle season is incredible and vibrant, and the general feel of the community seems really friendly. The spaces are well maintained without feeling overly
Great walk. So green in this little sheltered valley. Parts of it need a bit more attention but it's steadily improving over the past 10 years. Popular with locals. Safe for single walkers because of its high use. Well worth a try.
Beautiful linear park along a creek in the middle of suburbia. Dogs are allowed to explore off leash and there's excellent parking at both ends. Paths lead along both sides of the creek, so there's ample walking to be done.
As someone who grew up here in the 70's and had such a wonderful childhood, I love bringing my own kids to enjoy what I had. Lots of wildlife to see and very serene.
Really pleased to discover this walk in woodlands today ! Provides a good long dog walk off leash around the creek for a good 40 minutes !
Great for young and all. Playground for lil ones. Trails and rock hopping for everyone. Absolutely beautiful spot.
Very peaceful nature walk. Don't need to go country for this tranquility.
