Whilst my review is based on my experience with this business, people should note that my opinions are just that… My opinions. I encourage people to do their own research. I have been using Ventolin to treat my acute asthma since I was a child. I have never had a problem getting this medication. Over the years I have had a number of specialists try to push me on to other treatments which have either not worked or given me unwanted side effects. Ventolin has always been my go to and after nearly 50 years of use, I have confidence that it is the best way to treat my problem. I know it is the best way because I am in my body and I know how I feel. These self professed “experts” are making their judgement not on how you feel or respond but how their book tells them to think. Thus far, the only information available on side effects of using Ventolin states that overuse can make you shake or increase your heart rate. Whilst I don’t suffer the shakes I am happy to live with these possible side effects as they are completely incidental and innocuous. The other treatments these “experts” want to push me on to have far worse implications such as diabetes etc. I live in a very remote part of Australia and we have only one small chemist. This particular chemist is run by a bunch of crooks, in my opinion. A couple of years ago, my Ventolin purchase hit $23!!! For those who don’t know, that is extortionate. The chemist here, seems to take full advantage of being the only one. Now, Ventolin is the only pharmaceutical I personally use. I steer clear of everything if I can. I would be lucky to have a Panadol once a year. I decided to seek another supplier of my Ventolin because I was tired of being ripped off. In steps David Jones Pharmacy online. These guys were selling Ventolin for around $11 which is less than half the price of our local criminals. I began ordering from them. Being as I live remote, postage is expensive. Couple that with the fact that things like flooding has cut us off from the rest of the world I thought it best to order in bulk to ensure I had sufficient supply on hand. I was ordering 5 at a time from David Jones Pharmacy and this went fine right up until a few months back. On this particular order they limited me to 2 Ventolin. When I asked why, they stated that there were laws and they had to abide by them. I note that other people have commented on the condescending and patronising responses they get to their complaints and can concur. It’s nearly as if their response people think they are above people and their degree gives them the right to talk down to people and treat them like idiots. The response I got to my query as to what had changed was abrupt and when I replied, my retort was met with a very condescending email. All of that aside, it seemed that ordering 5 at a time was ok for a while but they suddenly decided that they were operating outside the law and they needed to reign me in. I then ordered by the two which they filled. I am about to head overseas and thought I best make sure I have enough Ventolin for my trip. I went online and ordered two Ventolin. I got a response stating my order had been cancelled due to what they consider to be “excessive use”. So over a few years we have gone from 5 being ok to 5 being excessive use to 2 being ok to 2 being excessive use…. I’m not going to blame this arm of the cartel because they are adhering to the rules set by their overlords but I have let them know I will never use them again. I am earnestly trying to source natural alternatives, as of today, and encourage anyone who has a condition that makes them dependent on this industry to do the same. I’d like to say “avoid this business” but, unfortunately, it would seem that all businesses who are part of the international legal drug trade cartel have become a law unto themselves. When I say “themselves” I mean “the pharmaceutical industry”. It's your Canberra lobbyists who pen the rules for government.

I ordered the products and asked for the newest with long shelf-life products. I got all three 500ml bottles with only 4 months shelf-life left. We won't be able to use them in time. These bottles are very old and dusty. One bottle is leak. Apparently there is only 1 small page of newspaper in the box as a cushion. Added on 21/10/2020: got a phone call from a female staff. If the lady is representing the company then this company is irresponsible for any products they sent. I was told they only guarantee products to be at least 3 months life left. She claimed these 4 months to expiring products I received are the newest product they just received from manufacturer. I asked if that is true, how come they did not query their manufacturers about this and just pass old products to customers. In regard to there is only one page of a small newspaper put inside as a cushion for 3 bottles of liquid products causing one bottle to leak, the lady could not give straight answer why staff did not care to pack to stop three loose bottles from moving. Their excuse were the cap maybe loose (in that case, shouldn't they query back to manufacturer?, apparently this is just another excuse). In conclusion: they refused to take any responsibility regarding old products and leaking. PS. I just noticed a few previous customers in the reviews had the very same issues. The pharmacy often provided sarcastic responses, being irresponsible, or even replied as the customers have left fake reviews. Please read all other reviews. Added: they offered one bottle to be returned for credit. Very fast delivery. Recommend for people who don't mind 3-4 months short shelf-life products. Best if ordering dry/light products. I increased stars from 1 to now 3 and leave the other 2 for now as a room for improvement (expiry date, packing, customer service) to make you become the best and I believe you can definitely do that.

I emailed their online team asking for an instore price so that I could pick up from store rather than pay postage. They told me to contact store. I rang store, who told me to call online as store can't give prices over phone. Then when I tried to explain things, they still wouldn't give price unless I came in. Then they changed their mind and said that if I came into store they would probably honour online price if I showed them a screenshot from my phone of the product!!!! I wanted to buy a few of the same product. They only have 2 in store. I asked if they could order a few more in store. They said yes, but I would have to pay for click and collect - $4.95 fee!!!!! What happened to good old fashioned service, as claimed by their store write up, where we are advised that David Jones Pharmacy has been around since 1916. When I go to Bunnings or Coles or Myer etc etc, there is no click and collect fee. OMG! I looked up two discount codes on google and tried these. Neither worked. They said that there are no discount codes for David Jones. Wonder why they have a discount code field on their online form! I tried click and collect. Wouldn't work on online form. I rang back and they said that I should make billing address same as their Murrumbeena store, since they have not updated online form to take into account that we no longer have 25 km travel limits! ******The owner's response is disappointing and shows the commercialism that is being gripped during COVID, whereas most businesses show empathy to customers and don't slug them with hidden click and collect costs. It is also important to note that the David Jones told me that if I wanted to come into the store to buy an advertised product, then I would still have to pay the click and collect fee. Any other store you go to just orders in the product that they sell for their customers. Not, however, David Jones.

The service is the worst I've ever experienced. I paid just over 50 dollars for earplugs which never arrived. After many phone calls and emails I was told the order was lost and would be investigated by Toll and I would get a callback which as per usual did not happen. After making further calls and emails I was told the order must have been stolen from my door despite there being somebody at my home and having a locked mail box!!!! I was also told my good money which I paid in good faith for products that never arrived would not be refunded!!!! Outrageous.i called the owner to advise that state Consumer law prohibits companies from taking money from customers and not supplying the goods but he never bothered to call back I'm now filing with Consumer Affairs and the ACCC to get my money refunded. Do not buy online from this company they are atrocious and incompetent and unprofessional. Still seeking my refund 2 months later......RESPONSE to Owner's REPLY Please note unless specific permission is given by the customer to leave goods on the doorstep - which was not given in this instance - the courier company must return the goods to the depot and arrange redelivery. You have also missed the point somebody was home during the expected delivery time no delivery was made, no goods were found on the property, and as yet, you have still not provided a copy of the alleged letter from Toll confirming delivery to my address as requested a month ago. You have still stolen my money. For these reasons I am taking this matter to Consumer Affairs and the ACCC.

Do not use this pharmacy !!! For the past few years they’ve been great ! Although in the last 12 months three of my orders have either been delayed or lost. One order only came half fulfilled and I was not advised that the remaining products were on back order. After contacting them they said they do not stock that product or do not know when they would be able to complete the order. I believe that if a product is not available it should not be on a website clearly displaying that is available to purchase and also charge someone’s credit card It did take quite some time to receive a refund My most recent order did not arrive !!! I did not contact them for quite some time as their website stated that due to COVID-19 orders would be delayed between 4 to 6 weeks. Upon contacting them they said that the courier dropped off the parcel one day after my order was placed. Difficult to believe as all parcels during COVID-19 has quite a wait period. I have specifically stated for the parcel not to be left at my front door and therefore the invoice stated that signature was required upon delivery. David Jones pharmacy insists that the parcel was left at my front door My security and surveillance cameras clearly shows that no parcel was delivered David Jones pharmacy refuses to come to an agreement They refused to provide me with a refund They also refuse to resend the order that was paid for in full. Not only have they lost me as a professional client they are also losing the reputation quite rapidly Will not be using them again

BUYERS BEWARE!!! Do not expect your items to arrive in a reasonable amount of time. The items seem to be drop shipped from all over the country and it was 3 days before they were even shipped, after 9 days, I complained that this is too long and after emails, they refunded my money and re-directed all the goods (which were coming from 5 or 6 different places) back to the original suppliers. Most goods were already in Aust Post distribution center's in Brisbane, having come from WA and Victoria. These guys are pathetic and obviously the customer is not important enough to be fair and reasonable and not cancel orders on a whim! I requested a refund of part of the $200 order, so I could get what I needed urgently from a local Chemist, but without consultation, they simply cancelled the orders. No communication at all. Rather than looking at the facts and realising the delivery would likely be in 1-2 days time, they should have apologised profusely and maybe offered a store credit or something of the like. Anyway, I hope this review saves some of you from making the mistake I made and buy local instead, unless you are happy to wait a very long time. On another note, we ordered items from Italy last month and they arrived in 1 week exactly. How is it that a National business in Australia can't do the same?

I placed an order with David Jones Pharmacy on 25/3/20. Now on 14/6/20 (3 months later) my order still has NOT arrived. I keep getting told by Darren of David Jones Pharmacy that they are escalating with TOLL (their courier company) and that I have to wait 3 days here, 5 days there, 3 days here, 5 days there, for TOLL to reply. I have been told this for the last 3 months, and I am always initiating the contact for an update. I have advised David Jones Pharmacy that it's clear TOLL has lost the package (which is understandable during Covid) and that I didn't want any dramas; just either re-send me a new package or refund me. I asked for this on 1/6/20. No reply from David Jones Pharmacy. I chased on 11/6/20. Still no reply from David Jones Pharmacy. All I want is for a new package to be sent or a refund asap. My issue is not that TOLL has lost the package. My issue is that David Jones Pharmacy has still not sent me a new package or refunded me 3 months later, and that I am still waiting and chasing. Absolutely terrible customer service. I will never purchase from David Jones Pharmacy again.

Wish I could give them 0 star if there is such an option. I mistakenly purchased the wrong type of syringes so as soon as I received the package, I immediately contacted customer service for exchange or return. I took photos to show them the syringe box which is still unopened and the syringes are all in perfectly sealed condition. Customer service told me that return is not accepted due to change of mind. Such a ridiculous reason considering online purchase! Moreover, this is not change of mind but MISTAKEN ORDER. I believe this policy is against Australian consumer law. I will NEVER order anything from them again and strongly advise others not to. chemist warehouse is much better. Return is always acceptable for whatever reasons are as long as the items meet required conditions.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. I ordered 6 packets of glass droppers and was only sent 3. I sent an email and got no reply. Opened a dispute via the website and was told they couldn't source the rest of my order. Was offered a refund which I agreed to, but never received it. I've had to file a dispute through my bank. EXTREMELY poor customer service. I should have been told before my order shipped that they could not 100% complete it, and I should have been sent a refund as soon as I agreed to one. It's been 2 weeks now since this whole debacle started.

Firstly I've enjoyed reading the sarcastic and patronising responses to previous complaints, this person really knows how to run a business. I ordered 3 items that were all in stock, 1 arrived and 2 did not. They sent the remaining items 7 weeks later and the reason was because their delivery drivers were busy. I was sent by Toll an independent courier.... Now they want me to send back to them at my expense with literally no written advice of address, or that the items will actually be returned and credited. AVOID THIS WEBSITE / COMPANY

Online purchase experience was below par. Not happy with the transaction. I was asked to create an account before I can place the order. Paid for the item but was still asked to confirm purchase or have my purchase cancelled and account blocked. I confirmed that it was a legitimate purchase but I was annoyed by their approach. I asked for a refund but they still blocked my account. They have no intention of retaining customers. Now I cant buy from them. Their loss, not mine. Save your time. Create an account somewhere else.

WARNING ⚠️ Never purchase Any Gambling products from this store!!! Do not have any thing to do with them as the relable expired patiented medications to the elderly. I got stung asking for Omega-3 fish oil tables by BlackMores and they were trying to tell me they are “anti-infinitely” So here I am a pensioner that could have eaten for 1 week of nice fish meals but these rorters have taken me for a ride I will never for get! I ordered a product for allergy and didn't work for another brand. I requested a refund and I'm quite surprised that and the service by the online team is prompt and very friendly. Be careful when buying from this place. They do bait advertising online and then charge a different price in store. Conveniently they claim that online price and in store prices are different and it is customers responsibility to know the difference. In today’s digital world every retailer whether small or big has same pricing otherwise it is termed as bait advertising and any retailer found doing this can be fined by ACCC.

Ordered online only because it was available online only. Do not like ordering vitamins online except for one place due to packaging. These weren't packaged well at all, they were 2 bottles in one large box without any bubble wrap or tissue paper to stop them from rolling and shaking around while in the back of a van. If you put some more attention into your packaging and you wouldn't had a better review.

I was dubious about ordering from David Jones Pharmacy due to the very negative reviews, so I contacted them and decided from their very prompt response that I would place an order. I placed the order on Wednesday night and the goods were delivered at 10am Friday morning. To say that I was impressed with the service is an understatement. Consequently, I'll be placing another order very soon.

Found them online when searching for Chinese medicine. Used their website to place an order. No phone support. Never got a call back. No email support. Never got a reply. Chose a pharmacy pickup for $4.95, because local shipping is $8.95. Big mistake. Their staff is not customer friendly (as you can tell from their reply to my review). Not recommended.

I am extremely happy with the service and communication from David Jones pharmacy. I have found the price's are cheaper than my local shops on the Sunshine Coast Qld, even with postage included so it makes sense to order from a company that offers cheaper prices, offers exceptional service and quick dispatch. Excellent experience. Prices lower than other places. Interstate postage within a week. Expiry date was all in 2021 (ordered 11 eye drop bottles so happy with the expiry date). It worked out cheaper to buy in large quantities even with the postage price than if I'd bought from chemist warehouse in Sydney with free postage. Thank you.

Sold me alcohol wipes packaged as adhesive remover wipes. Customer service has no knowledge of Australian Consumer Law. I will be reporting then to the ACCC. Customer service was awful. They do not appear to be affiliated with the retailer of the same name - just a stand alone pharmacy with the same name. DO NOT SHOP HERE

Ordered two large bottles of vitamins and they came with a 3 month expiry. Called and they had a very poor attitude telling me to refer to their terms and conditions in which they only guarantee products within a 2 month period of expiry. Not even an apology was offered, won't be back again.

AVOID at all costs!!! One star is too good for this business. In no way affiliated with the actual David Jones, they have no concept of what actual customer service means. If you want your money back, including postage, go straight to your credit card company and get a charge back!
