"This is a great park for Docklands Residents to enjoy a bbq a relaxing picnic or just to sit and read a book and the only local area that people specially the older residents with pets that no longer drive to let they pets have a bit of a run and exercise as there all confined in apartments all day The only problem is that it is not an off leash park so people that have pets are not able to exercise and give there animals an opportunity to have a run as most vets insist and recommend for pets good health ! Majority of residents that define the rule for the well-being of there pet unfortunately get fined by the council rangers that are always lurking around to issue fines off $148 dollars on the spot very rudely and very confrontational It is unethical to say the least as those older most of the time residents can’t take they pet twice a day anywhere else as everything else available to them is at least 3 k away from the area So for the Helth and happiness of they beloved companions they risk getting fined almost weekly ( it had become a very good revenue making facility for MELBOURNE CITY COUNCIL) It is shameful and sad to be targeting these people purely for the council to make money I am confident that the council and residents can come to an agreement that can make everyone happy by giving the residents with pets a certain hour in the morning and afternoon to be able to give there pets a bit of a run with out the stress frustration and worry of being fined ! Most of these pets are very well behaved and are very friendly and most owners are very responsible in picking up after they pets and it will make everyone so much happier There is a children’s playground that hardly ever gets used as there are very few children in The area but over 30 pets ( primarily dogs) I suggest the council review they position on this matter as it is having a very negative effect to the local pet owners community as we seek to unite all residents in the area and enjoy there facilities It’s a very logical solution to a very frustrating situation that has been going on for over 8 years with no end in sight ! and something needs to change"

Whispering forests with magical boats Looking to ignite your child's imagination and outdoor play experience? Blowhole is a dynamic wind-powered sculpture at Docklands Park. The fifteen metre high structure and its cacophony of orange and blue wind-catching cups somehow managed to cost $700,000. There is meant to be some sort of symbolic meaning attached to the mesmerising aluminium and steel creation, although how it relates is a mystery to me. There's is a whispering forest in the heart of Docklands. From the outside it looks like a row of trees, but step inside underneath the canopy of blue, grey Sheoaks, and hear them sighing when the blows. Follow the narrow gravel paths through the forest and end up in the central open space and the heart of the dry creek bed. Situated along the creek are study boat structures that look like seed pods, and when tucked inside it's easy to imagine you are off to the land where the wild things are. What's different from a lot of open air playgrounds, is the trees are an important play element. Kids can use their fertile imagination to uncover hiding places and discover their own stories as they run around the multitude of tree trunks. I like that this is such a small simple playspace with a minimum of elements encouraging games with its own atmosphere and mystery. For families there's tables and a barbecue for use. So if the surrounding high rises are getting a bit much, take a break in the whispering Sheoak forest and see where your travels take you.
It was our EOFY party the night before on a Thursday. I know - who plans an EOFY party on Thursday. Anyways I made the most of it. Drinks flowed, I never had a free hand with a mini sausage roll in one hand and house sparkling in the other. Laughter in the air, happiness on our hearts and the one guy who drank way too much by 7PM in the background. I knew I had to be at work by 8.30 the next day, but it was 2 AM and Danza kuduro just came on at Ms Collins. The crows roared. So we had to stay for one.more.dance. The morning came... I was in at 8.35. The days before I'd made sure I'd had some vitamins and 2 Nurofens before I went to bed so the effects of the hangover were as muted as possible. I was okay, but tired from the 3 hours of sleep after almost 5 hours of dancing. Lunchtime came and work was really dragging. I walked out of Collins square and went for a wander. The day was lovely , light breeze welcoming winter, but a warm sun still clutching onto the powders of spring. I made my way to the almost artificially green but perfectly mowed grass of docklands park. I lay down, shut my eyes and had the most charming- and much needed- lunchtime nap. 10/10 recommend for a nap during lunch time.
Kind of an interesting long but narrow grassy park which is split in two by Collins Street. A range of features including a steep hill with a small grove of trees on top (nice for reclining in the sun and looking down on the world), other smaller hills, a mini pine forest (great for mysterious Instagram pics), public toilet, barbeque which is well sheltered under a very pleasant, thick grove of trees, children's playground, some interesting art installations including a wind driven sculpture which is spectacular when the wind is strong,. Unfortunately they probably couldn't have put it in a worse place wind wise...ironic considering Dockland's reputation.
Good park for kids but myself and other parents who come here noticed a group of Indian kids who regularly visit this place and they start bullying all other kids. They were bullying the other kids by pushing them, blocking the slides and swings and merry go round and mocking other kids and running around creating a scene, most parents ended up leaving, this happened a few times . We were really surprised by their careless Indian parents, I ask those parents to please discipline your kinds and stop raising bullies
Playground
Lots of Indian kids bullying other kids and parents who are minding their own business.
Docklands Park (aka Docklands Park South), in August 2023: yeah i enjoyed visiting the park/walking through the Docklands Park and enjoying the sights of the ANZ buildings and the waterway near the bridges and the scenic walk between parkland and tram stops and so on, last Sunday, in the height of Winter, last month of winter. Just a brief walk through and passing the spare time. I'm hopeful there's no snakes in the summer months or warmer months, anyways, a fine park ️
Amazing! Great place spend an hour or two enjoying nature within a ten minute walk from Melbourne CBD. There is a community vegetable/herb garden, a Pine tree plantation, a bridge enveloped by a water fountain which you can walk through (an interesting sensory—particularly aural— experience) and much, much more. Great area in general, with interesting residential and commercial architecture, too. Oh and theres the water, nearby too.
Little playground with slide, some swings, sandpit, staircases for kids. Big area for kids to run... Mountain-like place for kids to climb up and down... Immediate tram stop. Around 10-15 minutes walk from southern cross station. Public toilets available (not really clean though). No car park. Need to find roadside carpark. Bbq nearby. Gym equipments on the other side of road. Play-court across the road. Woolworths nearby.
The city offers a breathtaking view, especially when admiring the Dockyard. Additionally, there are several incredible restaurants and shopping centers nearby, providing a delightful experience for visitors. Not to forget, the Melbourne Star is also just a stone's throw away, adding to the charm of the place. I highly recommend visiting Melbourne to experience its vibrant atmosphere and explore all it has to offer.
A backdrop of corporate and residential high rise buildings make it a cool and beautiful spot of choice for photography. Not only that, the waterfront is where photographers experiment on and learn the long exposure photography with smooth water flows. The Bolte Bridge in the west makes the sunset more beautiful. During the Christmas holiday, it is the not-to-miss place for fireworks, music, and dance.
Nice place to stay especially for long period. Really recommended. Situated inside free tram zone. Can use tram for free to travel around and going for Queen Victoria Market. Enjoy great scenary of old ship dock that been modernized suits with developed town around. Bicycle also provided for evening tour. As overall, Docklands is a great place to stay with full accomodation. Thumbs up Aussie Gov.
I love this place. There are so many corporate offices around this place and is a really good place to take a break from work or sit and have some coffee or snacks. What I like the most is the barbeque facility here, which is available in multiple corners of this park along with some tables to sit and eat. There are enough parkings available around this place.
Great place to chill, relax and have fun with your family. It has got small ground for kids to play and has got barbecue facilities. 2 hour parking is free on weekends (double check online). It has great vibe and you can go for a walk around the docklands Harbour esplanade. There are few restaurants on the other side of Bridge as well. Thai Bangpop is good.
Great park to hang around in evening. Docklands harbour is near by and bridge looks beautiful. Currently new year eve is coming and lots of fireworks are planned to go in air as per news. As this area falls in Free tram zone nearby connectivity is good. Southern Cross is a big station from where one can go anywhere and even direct airport Buses in ₹20
Docklands Park is located in Docklands Harbour, VICTORIA at Tram stop D-4. Trams No. 70,and 75 will be running. The park is ideal for kids age 5 - 8years of age. Kids will enjoy the slides, swing, round about, and rotating wheel on the ground. It is provided with wash rooms and wash basin. It is also provided with BBQ and drinking water taps.
Good place to relax and enjoy with kids. Close to public transport. Family can spend time with kids. One of recommend place for people who are living in Docklands, Melbourne. It has a hill that has been dubbed like a Godzilla’s resting. Clean, quite, dog-friendly, community atmosphere, wheelchair accessible. Easy access from DFO and CBD.
In the middle of a concrete jungle this place is a paradise. Has good little environment for kids, Barbie, toilettes and tram stop is really close. Very happy with it otherwise you gotta travel bit far from CBD (unless you are over yonda to get to the old fav Flagstaff ;) no complaints! And yes close to Melbourne star!
As we commemorate the sinking of HMAS Yarra II on the 4th March 1942 in the South Java Sea, these photos taken a number of years ago bring back vivid memories of those 151 brave souls who gave their lives are still with us. The 13 survivors have also now passed into history but not out of our thoughts. Lest we forget.
Nice little garden on the intersection of Harbour Esplanade and Collins Street. Has kids-friendly play area, slide, swings, and lawn. Although some more kids' play equipment must be put in to make it more attractive for kids. Also has shaded area, which makes it a total bliss during hot days.
Pretend to be one of the actors in Lord Of The Rings by sitting in a leaf shaped canoe, hidden within a small forrest. Walk through the Pyramid waterwall sculpture. Feed the hungry hords on the free community BBQs (which are cleaned daily) this park has something for everyone.
Apt workout an recreation place. Right at the heart of Docklands and a few minutes walk from CBD. There are courts for basketball and futsal, and an open air gym. Ample flood lights for evenings. Parking spaces are a lot around. Check for online bookings before heading here.
Easily accessible by tram from Southern Cross station. Wide open space to walk by the pier. Small eateries nearby to fill your stomach or for just a cuppa. My wish is dog owners could be a little more responsible to pick up their pets' poo to make the park more pleasant.
Unfortunately Docklands is still a bit of a dead area nothing like the buzz of Darling Harbor in NSW but on a blue sky day it can be quite stunning to just walk around and enjoy the scenery. Just a shame most nights still seem a bit like a ghost town
Big piece of land, great slide-tunnel structure, but there's not much else for a toddler to do besides climb a flight of steps and swing. A little disappointing for a city park, especially in an area with loads of money thrown into infrastructure.
Docklands has changed in the last few years from buzzing to quiet. Probably due to all the covid lockdowns. I enjoyed walking in this area as it was practically deserted. Nice place to meander by the water & take in some fresh sea air
I've visited this area quite a few times over the last two years and have found it to be a rather quiet area close to the city with plenty to do, see, eat and drink. Many coffee bars and restaurants. A great place …
Nice park, breaks up the metal and concrete of the city and adds a bit of green. Would be better if there were some more seats, or picnic tables. A lot of people come here to eat their lunches.
Recently added barbecues and seats have made this grassy section a lot more usable now. It's a nice place to go and sit but it s not the quietest place because of the roads that border it.
Simple playground with a slide and swings. Love the grassy slopes too. Also a nice walk to the nearby river and bridge. For a better playground in town, visit the Artplay playground.
I was here in 2014 for the NYE Fireworks, and it was spectacular. The view was breathtaking! I loved every moment!! Only a short walk from Southern Cross Train Station.
The park is aesthetically designed to be a visual treat to the young and old, with the innovative colourful wheel of Unity to represent different cultures in Melbourne.
Good landscaping working well with the fresh modern architecture.. In addition to the great cafes , restaurants lining the streets. Docklands are a secret paradise....
I love this little Forrest in the City. It's clean, creative and close to everything. Has bbqs, a pond with goldfish, playground & really lively friendly atmosphere
Always love coming to Docklands. Lots of food places to eat at and one of the lesser busy areas in regards to hordes of people. It is a pleasant place to go to.
Lovely little park, it's funny how the council have put up signs saying "no organised ball games" isn't that the whole point of a park! To get out and have fun!
Bbq with shadow, a little green place hidden in the busy city. You can chill here, jogging, bbq or even the docklands harbor is nearby within walking distance.
loves the public spaces around docklands park. BBQ area with shaded picnic table and seats. toilets nearby. a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city.
This little park is home to one of my favourite public sculptures, 'Blowhole'. There's also a lovely playground. It's a poetic spot on the edge of the city.
Great location, however the river is getting polluted by garbage and littering. Sad to see this place loosing its standards. I’m sure this can be fixed.
Nice place to hang out and enjoy the harbour area with lots of shops and opportunities to enjoy a drink or food overlooking the water and docks area
Nice big open grounds for the kids to run around and a lovely park. The bells and chimes need some love though, 1 ripped out, others don't connect.
A nice park to do park like things in. Electric BBQs available, several picnic tables. The layout of the park provides a good escape from the city.
Very clean park. The north most BBQ is currently under renovations. Only gave 3 stars since you have to pay for parking on Saturday up to 6.30pm.
An outdoor playground opposite to the DFO South Wharf but not so suitable for the little ones and few equipments. Nice place for bbq and picnic.
Good park, it has all of the usual features you'd expect; swings, sides, some grass and shade. No guest WiFi which was a bit of a bummer though.
Docklands Park is a beautiful urban oasis in the heart of the city. The vibrant green spaces and modern design create a refreshing atmosphere.
Docklands park is a nice place to spend evening in natures lap. Listening to your favourite music, enjoying the winds and sound of Melbourne.
Pretty empty on a Saturday afternoon during lockdown :) nice place to sit and get some sun. Cool bridge with water flowing down the sides.
The park was pretty good considering the limited amount of playgrounds in the area. Not that busy. Toilets available was a huge plus .
Very relaxing atmosphere and a great place to escape from the bustling main streets. Also a local hotspot for Pokémon GO players.
Toilets under the stadium style stairs. Great swings and grassy areas. Downside is no real fencing near busy road and tram stop.
Nice park near ANZ building, there's a good kids playground at the Yarra River end which is quite fun for kids upto maybe 10yo.
Nice spacious park with some unique fountains and walkways with a lot of shade, lots of peaceful places just to sit and relax.
So much fun and usually quite clean. Hard to find local coffee shops unfortunately so a coffee van would make a fortune here!!
A great spot to relax on a bench, or play on the expansive lawns with friends. Free BBQs available that are well maintained.
Went here for the Firelight Festival... Very well organised. Great place and venue to have such social events in Melbourne.
Wonderful place for BBQ picnic. Visited with friends on sunny Sunday 11:30AM, all the stoves and water tap worked well.
Nice place. Family can spend time with kids. One of recommend place for people who are living in Docklands, Melbourne.
View is nice for taking pictures. Not many swings for kids. You can spend half an hour here which would be sufficient
Really nice park to take kids to. My daughter enjoyed it heaps and we got some great pics too. Highly recommended.
Beautiful place,. Really enjoyed the cool benches to hide from the scalding heat. Awesome place to rest and relax.
Very nice calisthenics Gym in a good location. Also has basketball courts, water and other facilities in the area
Multiple parks food different requirements. Shade, bbqs, play grounds, open fields..love this place,so do my dogs
This is where it's at. Absolutely peaceful. Bustling when it needs to bustle. Quiet when it needs to be quiet.
Great basketball court. Feels like if a little more investment can go into this place it would be brilliant.
Very nice space next to office to get take away food and get some sun. Ample space across the road too.
Not many people hang out here during the weekend, but it's still a necessary green space for Docklands.
Nice and quiet place to take visitors. Children playground and bicycle lanes. Great view on a sunny day
nice place for kids.. there is a BBQ desk too. Recently refreshed the area for better access for kids.
Clean and easy to get to, trams runs straight there and it's only a 5 minute walk from southern cross
So lucky to have this at my doorstep. Great community space that is very popular amongst the locals.
Any green area is worth treasuring. Verdant oasis in the city. Best visited during warmer months.
Great park for the kids. Beautiful setting with lots of green spaces and the city as a backdrop.
Was really nice down here today. Lots of people using the gym gear and on the basketball court
What I love about this place: a lot of good spots to take picture, has a great view at night.
Nice place to go for a walk in the evening. It's a new area and there isn't much to do there.
Perfect place to have a picnic session with the families with remote pit available for BBQ.
Nice place, really quiet on Saturdays and Sundays. It has an electric BBQ and a few tables.
A most go if you wanna hit street in Melbourne ! So much to skate and no one kicks you out
Nice park with rides to keep kids busy but requires little cleaning of the water fountain.
Nice place to see sun set. Good eating options near about but mostly are for office hours.
Short walk from train station, great views and good place to walk and get some fresh air!
Good park for Docklands residents. Can be enhanced to include more activities for kids.
Beautiful park. Noisy, but beautiful. A nice place to make an outing or meet a friend.
Best place to hangout on new years eve - parks, food, music, car park & fireworks...
I really liked it here. It is so peaceful on a Sunday. Bbq grills. Nice play areas.
Amazingly set up for fireworks with stunning food stalls, fire pits and music.
Nice playing area for children accessible via 70/75/35 and 11/48
A pleasant walk, lunch spot if weather allows, picnic too
