I needed an alternator replacement after not being able to drive my car for months after surgery. Before replacing any parts they eliminated any other possible routes, like fully charging my battery. Unfortunately -on my end- I still needed a new alternator and battery. The mechanics are VERY honest and up-front, they determine the root cause of the issues at hand rather than just fixing what was damaged. Their prices are unbeatable and morally driven. They care about their customers, and they are very knowledgeable and hard working. They even bought me a coffee while I waited, and offered to drop me off when my car needed to stay overnight as I’m in a walking cast on my foot. I chatted about past work I’ve had on my car (as my car is a problem-prone model) and how I’ve had transmission and safety switch issues that were extremely unsafe while driving. I’ve gone to many mechanic shops in many different cities for this issue, all of which basically said I was crazy, or that the issue did not happen to them with my car- just leave it. This Dupont shop was able to tell me the exact cause of this past problem without having me even explaining in detail!! Just casual talk about it! I never write google reviews, this may be my first. I mean it with my entire being: they are smart, honest, inexpensive, and caring workers! Go here!

I have owned a 2013 BMW X5 for three years (when I arrived to Canada). I was going to this garage since then. I have always been satisfied with the services performed because they were very simple and fast (oil check, mirror change, superficial filter change). Moazam, the manager, is a very nice and pleasant person. Unfortunately, at my first engine problem (so a little more technical because these cars involve some electronics), the management of my car was a disaster. After 3 months of coming and going (4 in total) and more than $2000 invested, I had to change garage when they asked me $1500 more while the car was still not working normally. I went to another garage more expert in BMW, I got $450 total and the guy explained to me that what had been done did not make any sense or was even dangerous... Now my car is working perfectly fine. I don't think it's dishonesty. Even if they should have told me from the beginning that they don't know how to handle this kind of problem in their garage. I think it's more an issue of competence for more technical problems. My advice is to avoid this garage if you have cars with complex engines. On the other hand, this garage is good for superficial problem or maintenance. Hope it would be helpful for the next ones.

I had an issue with my left front turn signal because, as it turned out, rats (or some animal with sharp teeth) chewed through my wires in 3 separate places. I didn’t feel safe driving without my left bulb working, so I went to 2 different places to try and squeeze in an appointment. I must have called at least 6-7 different auto shops. I was turned away from all of them. One place (Mr. Lube) even tried to rinse me by saying they could temporarily tape up my wires and rat-proof my engine. Long story short, Moazam at DuPont Auto Repair was a godsend. He said he’d be able to repair my car asap. I drove to their location (which I missed a couple of times because it’s hidden behind a car wash!) and was greeted with extreme professionalism. Being a female driver, my biggest fear is getting ripped off by mechanics. But Moazam and his brother quoted me a fair price (I asked my family and friends who are car enthusiasts, and they said I got a decent deal) and fixed my electrical wires the same day. I’m so happy they were kind enough to help me out on such short notice. I would highly recommend them!

We went to Toronto yesterday, Easter Saturday. Unfortunately, got flat tire. We can't find any help from the dealership, service department were closed. We were so desperate because we were from out of town , if the car doesn't get fixed, we would be homeless in Toronto. We googled and find this nearby auto shop. We got there around 3, just 1.5 hour before their closing. The owner is so helpful and kind. He helped to phone Canadian Tire and other places to find the tires. Finally, he found somewhere in Scarborough. He send his staff to pick up the tires for us. It took 1.5 hour for this trip. He was efficient to finish the job once the tires has arrived. We were only charged for the tires and labor, very reasonable. He didn't put down any charges for picking up the tires and overtime. We felt really lucky to find this autoshop. This is a business with a good heart. Thank you so much for all the help. We can enjoy a dinner in Toronto and arrive home safely. Wish there are more business like them, with a good heart.

I've need going to this garage for YEARS!! I recently purchased a 2014 Nissan altima, unfortunately my alitnator went out. So I brought it to dupont auto as I would normally. I left my car there on a Tuesday, I received a call Friday saying it was ready 1400 almost 1500 later. I explained to the owner who again I've been deal with for YEARS!!! "Hey I don't have all the money at the moment and will have it by Monday , as I wasn't expecting to pay 1500 for a alitnator replacement. I was told it would be 30 per day. Lmao. Loyalty mean nothing here clearly.. I was told the parts came up to 600 and change - so almost 700 in labour's at that price i could have went to Nissan . I thought these guys are honest I even argued with my family sent them there and was told by my to stop going they are ripping you off!!! Over charging labour..and part they won't let you bring your own part that say they won't make money. Ps I also paid 15oo ago for AC compressor. I would definitely go elsewhere next time. Thank you!

Unfortunately did not have the best experience here. Brought my car in for a brake light switch lamp replacement, which has been causing me issues (car engine not starting unless brake switch wiggled). They made the swap but clearly not well, as the car became very unsafe on the road as I was driving home. I ended up being unable to drive the car, pulled over, and then the car wouldn’t drive after. I called them for help; they claimed that the brake light switch was not the issue. I switched the part back to the old one, and was able to drive properly again. When I went back to get a refund on the part and service, he wouldn’t refund me on the service, despite the service making the car unsafe to drive. Would not recommend this auto shop.

The guys at Dupont Auto Repair are amazing! They have saved me a lot of money and time over the last 6 months. Always honest, and they never charge you more than necessary. They took my 12 year car in when had a Service Engine light go off shortly after driving from Vancouver to Toronto, and then they took a look at it again for free just so I can bring it all the way to the East Coast this summer. Taught me how to check some things on the car myself and were always readily available when I wanted to stop by and ask questions. Really lucky to have found them!

I brought it in my car due to a leaking coolant at 9:30 am I had to contact them every couple of hours to see the status of my car. I mentioned I needed the car the next day for work. It took over 8 hours for them to diagnose the "potential" issue with no solution or time frame of when my car could be repaired. Very unhappy with their time management and they still charged me a diagnostic fee. Completely wasted my time. If you have all the time in the world I'm sure they provide decent service but they go at their own pace.

Been to Dupont many times in the past for servicing and they were doing a good job for the price they charged. However, recently, I feel that they started charging every little things and the fees in comparison to the past is quite high. For example, I went there for a tire issue, Mozam checked my car for about 10 minutes and was not able to find the cause and still went on charging me even though he was unable to find the issue?! Was a loyal customers for years but now I’m really disappointed.

Great service!! My Jeep would not start after filling with gas in downtown Toronto. I was towed to DuPont Auto by my CAA driver. These gentlemen were so great!! They diagnosed the problem (faulty starter) found the part, drove across the city to pick up the part, and installed it so that I could safely return home. If I could give 10 stars I would because not only did they do an excellent job, they were kind about it and I appreciate it so much!! Many thanks

The owner is really amazing! Knowledgeable and honest never try to overcharge or recommend fixes that are not required... prices are reasonable. An excellent and courteous Repair shop. The quote that they give you is really low when compared to the market. I brought my car there for different type of repairs and parts replacement. Staff is excellent with client service. Very professional Car repair shop. Their service is 100% reliable. Highly recommend!

Called in randomly as not many shops open on the long weekend with a question and they walked me through what to do, could have easily told me to just come in and “they would take a look” and charge me unnecessarily but they didn’t - they were super helpful and honest on the phone and I find that’s very rare. I take it as a strong sign of their honest business practices and I will for sure be bringing my car in here next time I have a legitimate issue.

Incredible service. I was in a pinch with a dead battery, and needed to be on the road ASAP. Luckily I live in the area, and ran over to Dupont Auto Repair, where Moazam quickly drove his truck over to do an assessment. The car needed a new battery. He quickly got a battery delivered to his shop and swapped it out in minutes. Highly recommend this place for the personal service while being charged a fair price!

The guys running this shop are incredible. I've taken my car to them several times for random things (flat tire, battery shot, etc) and they've always been able to fix the problem for me on the spot at a reasonable price. Very happy with my experience here. I was in the area and ended up with a nail in my tire. I went by a few places that were closest but they all would not plug it for me asking me to wait up to 6+ hours. We then called here and they had no issue quickly getting us in and repaired. Back on the road within 20 minutes! A life saver and very much appreciated!

The staff at Dupont Auto Repair was eager to assist me to flip the ball on my tow hitch, cause the nut was too tied and I did not have the proper tools for it! Moazam did it in 5 mins, and FREE of charge. Very nice an friendly, and he even explained to me the towing instructions lol!

I'm relatively new to owning a vehicle and stopped by to get a quote on repairing some light damage to my bumper. They were able to fix it in minutes and didn't charge me. Moazam and his team were extremely pleasant and I'll definitely be going to them for all my future maintenance!

Couldn't diagnose as I spent $1,000 and still wasn't fixed but when I took it to another mechanic on Shutter, the other mechanic did it for $300 and problem was fixed so the competency is not there, they can do general work from my understanding, oil change and brake jobs.
