"Well Located at the corner of Belmore Rd, Elgar Rd and the Eastern Freeway"
"I park here to visit my hearing specialist occasionally, is alot easier to walk a small distance than drive up and down around the immediate hospital area or worse, pay a stupid amount of money for parking close by because your to lazy to walk several hundred meters"
"I have been using this park since I was a kid and went to Koonung high over the road"
"Good park, small play area for kids but the trains are the main drawcard for many!! The nearby walking track alongside the freeway is a great little nature escape - lots of fun to ride bikes through the tall grasses and look for different birds in the waterways!"
"I've been walking dogs here since 2000"
Well Located at the corner of Belmore Rd, Elgar Rd and the Eastern Freeway. The Belmore Miniature Railway is co located here on the Belmore Street end. There is parking, toilet and children’s playground here. I just love it as a launching point for my cycling around the area. This links to the Koornung Creek Trail and other lovely bicycle trails!! Healthy parks, healthy dedicated cycling and walking paths linking Melbourne, ... no wonder we are the most liveable city in the world in its 7th straight year!! You just have to walk, cycle Melbourne to love it more and more!!
I park here to visit my hearing specialist occasionally, is alot easier to walk a small distance than drive up and down around the immediate hospital area or worse, pay a stupid amount of money for parking close by because your to lazy to walk several hundred meters. There's always been plenty of free spots and shaded spots to choose from and it feels very safe to. Looks like a top sports venue to I must say!
I have been using this park since I was a kid and went to Koonung high over the road. There has been a lot of change in that time, including the addition of the miniture railway, which is why my kids call it 'the train park'. This is our number one bike ride location, and a place that my boys always like a play.
Good park, small play area for kids but the trains are the main drawcard for many!! The nearby walking track alongside the freeway is a great little nature escape - lots of fun to ride bikes through the tall grasses and look for different birds in the waterways!
I've been walking dogs here since 2000. I've met so many wonderful fellow dog walkers and taken part in a campaign to get a leash free area made available. Lovely surroundings, great bush tracks, ample parking and just a great vibe for dogs and their humans.
The mini train riding was great! $4 a ride for around 10mins, very suitable for kids. There is also a playground nearby and more space for picnic at the back. However, it is not easy to find a parking space during the mini train operation day.
It's a beautiful area, and a wonderful place to take small kids, but such a shame that it's so poorly maintained... When I last visited there was rubbish everywhere, graffiti, and food containers. It makes the whole neighbourhood look unkempt.
Elgar Park's big oval ground is the home of many local sports clubs. Adjoined is the well loved Box Hill Miniature Train. Next to the Train is a very popular but small playground and picnic area. Not much shelter there on hot days. But the
Awesome space with 2 massive ovals. It's a great place to let your dogs run around off leash, but also take the time to go for a wander down the bike track as it is a pristine environment with lots of beautiful plants and trees.
Kbh hockey club has a great hockey ground and good change rooms and stuff. But a play ground for siblings would be awesome to play while waiting. I know there's one over near miniature railway but honestly that's way to far away
Beautiful spot to explore and a bonus off-lead area for the dog. Plenty of parking. A mix of crushed gravel and bitmen paths all level and easy to walk on. No boggy areas even after heavy rain. Plenty of seating.
Delightfully surprised by this park! The playground is train themed with clean toilets right next to it and a drinking fountain. Carpark isn't very big but it wasn't busy at all when we visited on a Sunday arvo.
It's a good park to take your dog for a walk and poo It has a football oval a newly renovated hockey field bike track / walking track and a miniature railway and is located next to the freeway which has an
The Box Hill Miniature Steam Railway looked like a lot of fun for the kids. It is closed at present, but I am sure it is popular with locals! I will go back when the service re-opens and take some photos!
Massive improvement over the pre Covid years with grounds in great shape but now enhanced by a magnificent new pavilion catering for men and women. Long time coming but great facilities now.
Great place to take your dogs with heaps of room to play away from others - but people need to keep their dogs on a lead no matter what kind they are or how friendly the think they are
The Miniature Railway was very popular (even in July with cold weather) and lots of fun for a toddler. The playground was too crowded during the train park open times but fun anyway!
Popular local park with bush tracks, sports ovals and plenty of space for people, dogs .The bike track can get a bit busy and not cyclists indicate they are approaching you.
Grass is well maintained. 2 full sized fields with lights available to hire and hockey fields, change rooms etc. Ultimate Frisbee every Thursday night around 7:30pm.
Nice little train park next to the mini railways, there is a train platform, and train shaped play equipment. Not a big park but enough for a good run around
The mini train ride is so well run and the volunteer staff ate patient, friendly and hepful.

Nice bariety of equipment for various ages.
The grass on the oval here is great. Nice and short, well kept with no cuttings left around and the ground was nice and flat. Felt nice to run on.
Nice facility for cricket nets and two decent size fields with reasonable pitches. Convenient location with decent parking lots available.
Great little spot to play...there is a nice stream nearby along the walking trek. Bring bug spray though. Lots of mozzies next to stream
Awesome park, great location and atmosphere. Good day out for hiking, picnicking, walking, riding and whatever your heart desires!
Small but good playground to get the kids out and about. Clean, accessible without much fuss. Standard play equipment available.
I walk our dogs here every day. I have made some great friends here doing the same thing. In fact met my wife there …
Lots to do. Walking tracks. Oval, sports grounds, public amenities playground.mini train rides for children picnic areas.
The miniature railway there is great. The kids and adults will enjoy it plus they have picnic areas with BBQs.
A nice park with two ovals and a hockey field, also is right next to Koonung trail. Highly recommend
