The park is an open space, besides a walking/riding track, river and large oval (which is currently being upgraded-March 2019). The park has bbq and large playground and children can be easily supervised, however worth noting as there are no fences, parents need to be diligent in ensuring their children don't stray to the track and river, there are some very speedy cyclists using this track and strong currents in the river. Overall, great place for casual visits, picnic, small birthday parties. Bins are provided but I would recommend that you take the bulk of your rubbish home if you are throwing a party to avoid the bins overflowing and waste entering our waterways.

Its a good place for community sports. With well maintained grounds and shade area we had a very good time
Restrooms
We had around 300 people attendingvthe event. The grounds and location of the rest rooms were the biggest inconvenience, especially for kids and women to walk from the ground to the corner of the ground where the rest rooms are located. Probably, the facility requires more rest rooms near the pavilion or closer to ground 7 and 8

This place is a true gem situated along the waterfront. It offers remarkable sporting facilities, making it ideal for various sports like cricket, soccer, and footy local leagues. The abundance of parking makes accessibility hassle-free. Moreover, the park's pet-friendly policy adds an extra layer of appeal, making it a versatile and enjoyable destination for both sports enthusiasts and pet owners alike.

A nice big open park right on the banks of the Maribyrnong river, which contains several ovals and playgrounds plus cricket practice nets. You can also launch a kayakSUP from the Essendon Canoe Club ramp, and explore the peaceful area from the water. There are also public toilets and other facilities in the Park as well, plus you can cross the river downstream and follow the river down to the docks.

This is a large off lead park that is great for letting your pooch run free. There are usually lots of dogs to play with. There are a bunch of ovals so when they are in use there is not so much room. I suggest you have your dog under control as there is also a bicycle path along the river. The Riverside golf club cafe restaurant nearby is good.

Beautiful park to walk the dog or go for a stroll on your own.. The river is stunning (and clean) any time of year as it's kept that way by the council. Close by is also a tennis club with many courts which double up as netball courts and a golf club to boot. In emergencies I have found the public restroom helpful as they are also well kept.

A big open area adjacent to the Maribyrnon river. About 6-8 cricket grounds with 3 cricket clubs. The new pavillion Ascot Vale CC and Aberfeldie St Johns CC share is amazing! Balmoral CC still have an old bluestone pavillion at the far end near golf course.
Playground
Outdated, needs upgrading.
Restrooms
Not bad

Beautiful place. Has a couple of soccer goals and cricket pitches. Is a humongous space and you can do absolutely anything you want there. Downside is if you are there late, no restrooms as clubhouse is closed. There are also soccer and cricket team so if you want to get into a team, i would suggest here

A lovely place to walk your dog off lead, picnic or play a game in the park with family, friends or children. Two playgrounds, bbq facilities and restroom amenities all available and close to other activites like the pipemakers, living museum and frog's hollow wetlands... something for everyone.

It is a huge park - next to Maribyrnong river, close to Moone Ponds and Highpoint Shopping Centre. Plenty of grounds for cricket, soccer matches, netball and tennis courts, and golf course. There is also a paved walking cycling track for runners and early morning/late evening walkers

Incredible space. Amazing by the council for their constant improvements to it. Best of all, it’s a dog friendly park. What a dream location with the beautiful maribyrnong river along its perimeter. Come here for a short walk with your dog, you won’t regret it!

Great spot to take your dog, walk by the river, watch the local sporting clubs get together, and enjoy the fresh air. Always people around, a good vibe, and plenty of parking. Just be mindful when the majority of sporting teams coincide it can be hard to park.

  • Rohan Khanna

Wonderful place, fantastic sporting facilities along with plenty parking. Cricket, soccer, footy local leagues and plenty of space for multiple games to happen in parallel. Also a great place for our furry friends to run around and have fun :)

  • John Locke

A big, dog friendly and relaxing park. Smoothly fit for jogging, picnicking, sunbathing. Quiet and not crowded during weekdays. Good for family, lovers and pet owner land.
Dog-friendliness
Good for dogs.
Picnic area
Very nice!

This park is amazing. A fantastic place for dogs (it’s mostly off-leash) and the wildlife is great here, considering it’s inner Melbourne. We have had the most amazing times here, bbq’s and a kids play area, perfect for the whole family

  • Shammy Aravind

It is one of the biggest community sports centre which supports cricket, soccer, tennis and many more. It is walkable distance from tram stop41 for people living in city Also has a spacious car parking available near the ground

  • Shash Patel

The playground is getting an upgrade but the size of the park as well as the river walk make this a great location to relax, picnic or exercise and play sports. The dogs loved it so we’ll be back to explore more soon!

  • Jonathan Morpeth

A fantastic local secret. Ideal for off leash dog walks, away from busy roads, near the river. Lots of parking. Public toilets. Playgrounds for kids. Picnic tables. Sporting fields, cricket, tennis, netball and golf.

  • samadhi senior

Great off lead dog park on the river, nice path and lots of bushland areas. Weekend sports can make the dog walking a little less easy but great for the sports lovers!

  • Belinda Pross

Large open spaces, lots of car parking and a dog water fountain. Dogs can be off leash but the area is not fenced. Dog owners mostly clean up after their dog too.

  • Bindi J

Best place to bring your dog to socialise with other dogs off leash! Can be busy due to sports though so need to keep an eye on when there is no training

  • Hayley Stevens

Beautiful and peaceful. Can get busy in the mornings and evenings. Lots of different walking tracks both sides of the river. Offleash dog area.

  • Antoine Cini

Heaps of grounds and parking space, good for kids practices, taking your dog out for a stroll.

  • Madame Bee

Great turf. The new clubrooms are wonderful. Mainly soccer fields. No AFL footy posts.

  • Ariel Marvida

A good and new play area in the heart of New Haven estates, more choices of play types

  • Frederick Thompson

Great spot for walks and exercise close to city along the Maribyrnong river

  • Simo
