Perusing the comments of the reviews below (and I expect also in the future), there's not a lot of room for further accolade of the bike mechanics extraordinaire Matt and Kieran at GEAR SHOP - but I'll have crack at it. If you appreciate honest and timely workpersonship, attention to detail, a selection of quality parts and absolutely genuine customer service experience - this is the place to go. This dynamic duo know bikes inside out, backwards, forwards, mirror-image, and I'm certain they overhaul in the dark and/or blindfolded. M & K - thank you for breathing new life into my beloved decrepit fixie - you have inspired her to last another ten. I know where I'll be going for the next. I've been thinking about buying a new bike for a while, unfortunately Gear Shop weren't able to order the model I was looking at but that didn't stop Matt and Kieran from offering me a beer and chatting about my options for about an hour (I was open to their ideas about other bikes they'd recommend). Instead of trying to sell me something else, they helped me find another dealer and get a really good price on the bike I wanted. I've been getting my old bike serviced here for a while and will definitely be coming back. I've also dropped in with minor issues and they've been able to do a quick fix for free. You know that these guys are real bike enthusiasts as they explain everything to you in detail, offer a quality service, and won't rip you off. Keep up the great work guys!

Stopped in late Thursday afternoon on the way home from work with just the intention of picking up a couple of parts to take home. Kieren was super helpful and patient in explaining the rear sprocket changes I wanted, and even fitted the gear for me on the spot. The store has a very friendly, community style vibe to it, and the other customers in the queue were happy to wait around and share their experiences and tips (I'm new to fixed gear riding). Would highly recommend coming here as opposed to your local chain store/mechanic - a really high care factor and attention to detail, and the guys are genuinely interested in making sure you have a great riding experience.

Broke a foot strap trying to do a skid on my fixed gear bike on Friday morning when riding down to the shops. Found this store online looking for some wild coloured pedal straps to replace my bland old ones. Spoke to someone on Friday midday over the phone and then proceeded to order them that afternoon to be shipped to Perth and they arrived via express shipping first thing Monday morning. Incredible service, very helpful over the phone, and very quick order processing times. Very highly recommend! Thanks so much. Will hopefully visit when I go to Brisbane in the future!

I checked my NJS bike in to Gear for an overhaul after many years of neglected maintenance (whoops). The lads provided excellent technical info on all the parts/procedures needed and made me feel truly valued as a customer. First time back on the saddle and I can confirm my bike is rolling better than ever and sporting a fresh new look. This shop is such an asset to the community and I highly recommend a visit.

Ordered a road bike from overseas for my daughter to use whilst at UQ. Very easy process – they had it all ready for her when she arrived and were super easy to deal with over email. They clearly also provide excellent after-sales service as recommended she bring it back for a comfort check after a couple of rides. Bought helmet and other accessories there as well. Fantastic service. Highly recommended.

I've spoken on the phone with Matt a couple times and he's provided me with great advice multiple times. I went instore for the first time today and he took the time to show and explain a few simple things that he's probably done thousands of times over. Appreciated the honesty, the time and the passion. I live over an hour away and this will now be my regular bike shop. Worth the drive.

Absolutely legends! The bottom bracket of my 70s Univega disintegrated on my ride to work one day and these guys were able to fix that up no troubles while also sorting a couple of other problems the bike had. They knocked the whole thing out in a few hours and were so lovely to deal with. I almost want something else to break so I’ve got an excuse to pop in again for a good chat.

Great to have GEAR back up and running after the recent renovations. I took my Colossi in for a service during their renovation period. The guys were happy to accomodate and did an unbelievable job on my bike. The advice they offered re parts and maintenance was a great help. I know I can trust their expertise. I love this shop and their new setup! Got my gravel grinder serviced here after they reopened and I couldn’t be happier with the process start to finish. Matt was even able to give me a few tips on how to get the most out of my ride and a few things to look out for. They do a bunch of different bikes from track to CX, but make Gear your new local bike store!

Exceptional service given. Some of the most accommodating people to deal with when encountering 'sticky, awkward' problems. It is easy to find difficult people, but these guys are exceptional and out of the box fantastic. A pleasure to do business. And worth the time to visit on all things cycle related. Great people who will do your best to help with any bicycle related questions and issues, whether they can help you themself or they need to refer you elsewhere. They service all kinds of bikes and did a great job in servicing my hybrid bike with an 11 speed hub gear. Moved a little farther away, but still come here for all my bike related chats.

This shop just got a fresh injection from new owners, the place looks great and their customer service is unparalleled. Always been a great place to find specialist road and fixed gear cycling stuff but got run into the ground by previous owners. The new team went out of their way to help me out and I really hope they succeed. SUPPORT LOCAL!

While in managed isolation and using my bike on indoor rollers to stay fit and sane, these guys quickly sorted me out with a replacement heart rate monitor, after mine broke. Matt went out of his way to hand deliver it to my hotel, something the local '99 bike' store was not prepared to do. Awesome service, thank you!

It's rare these days to find such a gem of a place that is so passionate about their craft. These lads live and breathe bikes, they are incredibly helpful, have great bants and build sick bikes. The team at Gearshop gave my bike one of the best (and most affordable) services I have ever had in Brisbane. Matt and Kieran at Gearshop were super helpful in choosing components for my bike. They are great mechanics with a positive attitude that always want to help out. They also have the best components and offer great advice. Highly recommended, best bike shop in Queensland (maybe even Australia).

Matt, Cappa and Kieran are always super helpful. They are extremely knowledgeable and can fix almost anything. The shop might be small but their range and stock are impressive. And if they don't have anything you need, they can get it quickly. Always a pleasure doing business with da boys.

The guys at Gear shop brisbane are straight up and a pleasure to work with. They are always happy to help me out with my wacky and wonderful bike maintenance issues. whether it be bike fit, fixed gear, gravel grinding or anything else, the guys know their stuff. 11/10 would reccomend.

Would avoid it at all costs. The bike arrived with a hole in the tube and then told me it was not their problem and to just buy a new one. Then after fighting tooth and nail they finally offered a $10 reimbursement if I provided a receipt. I recommend reid bikes never had a problem.

What a great shop! Built something brand new same day, and were super accommodating despite having many other customers and a dog in the shop. Great quality build and super happy to make multiple adjustments so it fits and rides perfectly. Definitely go here for all things bikes!

These guys are by far the most friendly, knowledgeable bike store I’ve ever dealt with. Took my mess of a custom build into them and they sorted everything out, stripped it down and rebuilt/finished it to what is now an amazing bike to ride. I cannot recommend these guys enough!

Absolutely useless, unable or unwilling to repair a flat tire. What bike repair shop can't or won't fix a flat tire. Rude, unhelpful, do not waste your time here. This is my second attempt to do business with them never again!

Super good service - I had problems with pumping my back tire as it would continue making bumps when I biked but the Gear Shop showed me an easy way to fix it and even helped with some other stuff on my bike without me asking.

The boys helped me with a pinch flat, I'm new to cycling and they didn't treat me like a dummy, infact they went out of their way to inform and educate me as well is fixing the issues 11/10 could not rate highly enough.

The guy was super nice and refilled the wheels on my wheelchair when I was running on flat after leaving the house without checking. If I could ride a bike, this is where I'd go for my bike stuff!
