I have stayed here twice and won’t be back. Make sure you bring your own coffee and teabags and don’t expect room servicing or fresh towels. I did however find someone’s feral sock underneath the foot of my bed the first time and this time it was a dog biscuit! I’m also amazed that in this day and age they do not offer Wi-fi. They have been understaffed during both stays and I had to chase someone down in the pokie area to check in. The first stay was unremarkable but this time has been very disappointing. I stayed for three nights for a local sporting event. I ordered a meal in the restaurant - they brought out the incorrect dish and instead of being apologetic the young waiter accused me of ordering the wrong thing - mate, I don’t eat the food you brought out why would I order it? (the girl behind the bar had obviously made an error). He was patronising and argumentative and I was made to feel like a fool. Customer service is not hard, just be respectful. Our group of 8 women (who were also staying in the hotel for the second time and had spent $$$ on food and drInks) played a board game in the bar as the rooms are tiny. We had to move to another area within the venue after that bar closed (not before they sold us bottles of wine 10 minutes before closing and then told us we couldn’t take them out of the bar ). We continued our game at a different bar in the venue and were laughing (that’s right, LAUGHING) and chatting when a barman named Ali rudely told us “you are being too noisy, people playing the pokies are paying customers and are here for peace and quiet” (he was quite aggressive and seemed to be on some sort of power trip). What the? Has he heard the noise that comes out of a poker machine? How dare we make noise in a public bar and interrupt your efforts to strip people of their money via gambling? It’s not a meditation retreat, it’s a bar! When my friend pointed out that we too are paying customers she was referred to as a ‘smart arse’ by one of the staff. This place would do well to remember they service a diverse group of patrons and if they want return business they need to cater to all not just the people funnelling their hard earned cash into the pokies. Needless to say we had to leave the bar and return to our rooms. Very obvious what this place values and my friends I won’t be back and won’t be recommending to any of the other players who also attend nearby events. Word of mouth can have significant influence in a sporting community. There are much better options nearby (Quality Inn was terrific for accommodation, lots of other great eateries) especially considering they hiked the price per night up by $45 within the 4 weeks between stays.

My husband and I visited Gladstone Park Hotel for dinner as we found an offer in the entertainment book. We were delightfully surprised, parking was easy and the venue is nice and clean. We were greeted and served by Nicole who was one of the nicest and friendliest waiters I have had in a while (I feel like she can work in an upmarket restaurant). She seated us, gave us menus, got us water and ordered our drinks. When Nicole took our order she offered other suggestions for sides we may enjoy. It was a wonderful experience. I also noticed her doing the same with other patrons who also seemed impressed and grateful for her wonderful service. The food was delicious, I had the garlic prawns. The serving was light (which garlic prawns tend to be) so if you are hungry I probably do not recommend this dish. My husband had the steak cooked rare which he enjoyed and found mouth-watering. Being pub style food we found the quality and food above your standard pub and we would be happy to visit this place again if in the area.

We have been going here for years. The meals used to be very nice. The Seniors meals are shrinking and shrinking. It is not only us that has noticed it. Our neighbour has also complained about the latest menu and the size of the meals. Last night we both had main courses - both were OK but we won’t be hurrying back. We went here for lunch yesterday. We were really impressed. Both Seniors meals were plentiful, the salad was nice and the chips were crisp- we will definitely be return We will NOT be returning. We went there for lunch last week. We both had the Seniors Parmigiana with chips and salad. What a disappointment - the chicken was barely warm - the salad consisted of 1 sliver of radish, 1/2 a cherry tomato and lots of leaves. The worst part was the chips. Soggy under cooked / almost raw potato and also lukewarm. No excuse. Only 2 other tables were occupied - we could see why !!!

I have not been to this restaurant for a while, I thought we would give it a go. When a customer complains that there calamari in their salad is not cooked staff should take this serious. I took a bite of the calamari and noticed it was so slimy and I knew straight away it was not cooked. I tried a second piece and the same. I advised staff of this which I was not overly fussed as things happen. What annoyed me the most is the manager telling me that my calamari was cooked when it was not his attitude was not very professional in my eyes . When he came back with my meal he had such a smuck attitude saying that the calamari was cooked in the first place but we cooked it more . I even gave the manager the napkin that I had spat the pieces out in it to prove that it was not cooked. if a customer says that the calamari is not cooked then it is not cooked.

Yesterday,Wed 26th, I attended a fairwell lunch with 20 others of our Tai Chi group in the lounge. Most ordered the seniors menu. I ordered the seafood basket. I can only describe it as "disgusting". Crumbed, overcooked calimari, rock hard prawn skewer, and the mussels, I was looking forward to, were only slightly opened and adhered to their shells so I had to scrape them out. Served luke-warm. A chef wouldn't have the lack of pride in him/herself, so saying as a long time cook myself, to send such a meal to the table. So who "cooked it I wonder? A kitchen hand??? I made no fuss so as not to embarrass my companions. But on our next lunches I will be lobbying them to go elsewhere.

Service was slow and staff were not friendly. My calamari was over cooked dry and tastless. Salad was lettuce leaves, one cherry tomato and a couple of slivers of onion. No dressing. We finished our meal well before 8.00 and through the lack of service were not offered the dessert menu. We asked for it at 8.40 and were told the kitchen closed at 8.30. No dessert. As I went to get out of my chair it completely collapsed and I fell to the floor. The chair's welding had failed. It was difficult to get staff attention to the problem. One lady staff member did get my name and mobile number for the next day Manager(as the night manager had already left for the night) to call and check I was OK. The call never came. I and my friends have no reason to return here for a meal and will tell others of my experience.

We attended a private function over the weekend, and it was honestly so good, I couldn't fault it. The staff were fantastic! They were super friendly, especially with the children, and knew what they were serving when it came to the food. The food was also really good, we got served a wide variety of finger food which can sometimes be cheap and nasty but not in this case. There was also a good amount, I don't think anyone went home hungry as there was food left over around the room. The venue itself, I only saw the function room we were in. It was nice, clean and pretty modern. It has a roof that opened up so when the sun got too much they closed the roof. It was great. The toilets were also clean. I'm keen to go back and have dinner with the family.

Hubby and I both had seniors meals. Roast lamb and parma chips and salad. Hubby had two light beers and i had a lemon squash. Total bill was $51. Good value. The meals were very nice and the size of the meals were perfect. Not too small like a lot of seniors meals are. We were there for Sat. lunch and it was lovely and quiet inside. It was full waiter service and Stacey our waitress did very well. She was professional and friendly. The beer garden apparently gets very busy.. The only down side was the ladies toilet block that could do with a spruce up with toilet paper on the floor and two toilets i entered were not flushed. Maybe with a check up occasionally this could be avoided. Overall it was well worth the visit.

Appalling experience. When you pay $41 for an eye fillet in a pub, you expect it to be reasonable. Waited an inordinate time to order whilst they mucked around with tablets and worked out what to do about a customer that skipped their bill. Order drinks - wine came with ice in it - not asked for. Sent it back, got a replacement by collecting it ourselves after being sick of waiting for it. Meat should have been medium - still bleeding in the middle. First serving potatoes were cold until redelivered after microwave. Granted we didn't pay for the steak or the wine but that's not the point, but then tried to charge us for the unpaid bill.

Reading through your reviews and I can see that myself and my family are not the only ones to have experienced the lack of customer service at your venue. We have lived locally and have called your venue our favourite place to go when we don’t want to eat at home, but the way your staff especially your manager treated us was absolutely appalling and completely disrespectful. I have never been so embarrassed to have my family in a public place. I really think you should go through some customer service training again because clearly during lockdown your staff have forgotten how to treat people with respect.

No hot water in x2 rooms room had a horrible smell in x2 rooms, mattress should have been thrown out 5 years ago , pubic hair all over the toilet seat lid ( folded down) and toilet unit. Left my details for payment to be deducted while we were out for the day but still got x3 phone calls from x3 diffrent staff memebers wanting to know when we will be back to pay and to top it off staff arguing infront of myself and other public for approximately 10min management couldn't care less on the day .

I went there for my 70th Birthday lunch. I couldn't fault the food or the atmosphere other than my leek and bacon soup was very salty my Grandson and I couldn't eat it. It was mentioned by me to the staff and simply waved off - she just didn't want to know. But everything else was great especially my vegetarian daughters' eggplant parma and I wish I'd had the fish, although my roast pork was good even though there was no crackle, because the fish looked amazing. I certainly recommend this Pub despite a couple of hiccups.

I had lunch here with a work mate. We both ordered steak, mine blau and his med rare. They both came out cooked exactly the same, well overdone. Unfortunately we came back a couple of nights later for dinner with more work colleagues since it was close to our accommodation and we were all tied, I ordered a burger thinking this would be safe but the patty was so over cooked I didn't finish it, the 2 others had pork which didn't look any better. They did do good chips though.

Went to the Gladdy last evening (27/7/23) and had a terrific dinner. The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful. The meals used to be very good, but last night hit a new level - we had the Gluten Free Parma and the Chicken Mushroom risotto. The chef made both dishes even tastier than ever. The Gladdy is one of those few places locally that truly cater for people who are celiac and gluten intolerant with scrumptious food!

I gave 1 star only coz while the wagyu burger was not bad, to ask patrons to leave, by a security guard no less, once 6pm hit, coz they were wearing hi-vis is just ridiculous? We were 4 non threatening females, 2 of which had our hi-vis on coz we went there from work for a meal and drinks to celebrate a birthday. Food was great and service when we arrived. Husband had Parma with real chicken not processed. Recommend beef sliders for entree. Had chef special for main Barra very nice. Down side service didn't come after meals served and after clearing table. We would have had extra drinks. Waited for 15 minutes for someone to take dessert order but didn't happen. So we left, otherwise worth a visit, for a great meal.

We had the Pumpkin Risotto and Roast Pork Stir Fry from the beer garden. We arrived tired and hungry in the early afternoon looking for something more than a sandwich, the staff were very friendly and directed us to a part of the pub where we could get a meal service. The people working were really nice and down to earth. The food was absolutely delicious, seasoned beautifully, great size portions.

Well let me be straight up here and say that if it was a review of just the food I would have given it 5 stars. However the service let it down. Anyway, let me get back to the food. I ordered the parma with chips and salad and wow. The napoli sauce was unique in its taste, it just had the right balance. The salad was delicious with the right dressing and the chips were crisp. Review about the accomodation This motel has a policy not to offer rooms to locals which is not mentioned anywhere in their website or booking link. They will simply sent you back for this reason if you pay online and book the room. Ok to have any policy under the Sun but mention it in the website and in the booking page. Wasted time, taxi fare and a day’s good mood. NOT RECOMMENDED

Pleasantly surprised...needing a night to sleep close to the Airport before a very early flight, we weren't sure what to expect!!! Staff brilliant, garden gin bar amazing, brilliant selection, and dinner in the restaurant lovely. Staff were all pleasant and accommodating including security! Great little overnighter and extremely inexpensive for its airport location.

Went to spend a delightful night with friends thinking a meal and a drink. Arrived at 6.30pm, the meal finally arrived at 8pm, hmm really fast service NOT. Now waiting for our coffee, 15 minutes later with only 3 tables of people, so over worked the poor girls. I honestly felt like saying forget it but it finally arrived. Wouldn't recommend coming back.

Use to be a really good pub to get a vegetarian eggplant parma from but now unfortunately they have removed that option for another chicken one and leaves 1 main option for a vegetarian meal the risotto. it's such a shame because it used to be so good and different from others but now it's very limited choice unless you get starters

We flew in from Brisbane and saw this place near our car rental so we had lunch here. The German sausage special was amazingly delicious, burger was tasty and juicy. The kids schnitzel was great portion, 2 scoops of ice cream were included. We loved it so much and came back 6 days later to have lunch before flying back.

We were fortunate enough to call in for lunch yesterday in the garden bar and the young brunette girl behind the bar was fantastic. Her professional and pleasant demeanour were beyond reproach and complimented our nice lunch. To have such a delightful and dedicated employee as young as her is a huge bonus for the hotel

The Gladstone Park Hotel is my local. The food is great both in the dinning room and the beer garden. Have had many dinners and lunches as well as booking a large part of the beer garden for a birthday celebration. Friendly staff and great food. The bottle shop has also been a good drive through. Had a booking for lunch here today as i was in the area to meet up with some people. I was pleasantly surprised, it was clean ,service at the table was a positive and the meals were nice. Some had seniors meals and they were of a good size and well priced. Would recommend to book ahead as it was reasonably busy.

I'm fairly regularly here on a Friday night with friends. Staff are always friendly and the food is always good. Entertainment can be hit or miss though, girl who usually wears a hat is a hit but recently she's only on every other week and the others are just not as good. Only thing that spoils the pub for me.

Shocking management. Watched them empty machines when people left the machine on a break. Class themselves better than the crown. Took my money then asked me to leave as my shoes were not suitable. Took them 3 hours to decide this info. Drinks so expensive. Save your money for a worthwhile experience.

It was a busy Friday evening; the staff took a while to serve us, but the waitress was apologetic. The food was lovely and had great prices. Overall a little loud, but expected as it was pretty busy. Not a great variety of gluten-free. Menu was pretty much a pub set menu.

Stayed in room 2, the beds are very uncomfortable we could feel the springs through the mattress. We are not heavy people. Shower was not very clean and room needed a complete makeover. Such a disappointment as I have stayed before and it was good. Very close to airport.

Very happy with the service, everyone was lovely and very accommodating when we had to shift tables due to having someone in a wheelchair. The amount of Parmas is AWESOME! We all want to come back for our next birthday dinner/lunch. Thank you to all the staff.

Last time we got take away they messed up the order and gave me an Angus beef burger instead of the pulled pork burger I ordered and tonight I've ended up with a flavourless chicken risotto on my birthday no less. Usually really good food. Super disappointed.

A nice place to spend a little time iñ when I am shopping in the center nearby. I have a few plays on the machines and maybe a drink before I leave for home. The staff are always pleasant and helpful and friendly creating an enjoyable experience.
