I went to the post office at approximately 3:15 and we we knew it was due to close at 4 !! Ok... FOUR, I’m not gonna lie, I got in the que pretty early, I had a big bag of parcels and I was proud when I walked all the way there, because I don’t leave the house much.. but anyways, I got there and there was already a hugeeeee que, so I waited, and I got closer n closer n closer, my hands felt numb as I got closer to the main door as I couldn’t wait to post my parcels! Anyways, I got to the door and a man came out saying the people behind us weren’t aloud in the que, so I thought HA ‘F in the chat’ as they all walked away so sadly, and as the people went in front of us inside the post office I was so excited to get my turn! And then when it was my turn I got told to sashayyyy awayyy?! The man said he ‘misjudged’ the situation! Well then I thought he deffo did because honestly I’ve never been so distraught! It was awfull! I do not recommend! I thought about staying behind to mug him but I thought nah! Rona! I can’t get too close! So I will never go again! He also greasy lips
The most inconsistent opening times. Both in and out of lockdowns, I’ve been down multiple times during the advertised opening hours and it’s closed. The odd occasion that I’ve been down and it’s open, the staff who work at the post office are so rude. I asked if the opening hours had changed as it had been closed the day before and she lied and said they had been open yesterday. It’s inside the library, at the back. They have a very small selection of envelopes and stationary, with wilko being so close, I use them as the range is better and cheaper. They adhere very strictly to covid guidelines, and you have to give your details if you don’t use the track and trace app. If you drive, use the meanwood postoffice, there is parking around the back and they have much better opening hours. Unfortunately I don’t drive so I have to make do with this one or walk over a mile to use another one.
My problem with this place is no one seems to see your viewpoint and are rude. Maybe they're understaffed(yes looking at the long queue) but im a teacher if you want to know about working in stressful situations.... I went to post letter and the woman just kept telling me to go back where I'd just been somewhere on the Otley rd where there is a postbox but it had already gone so I wanted to give ot to her but she kept trying to tell me to go back and find the red box, but I said I need it to get there tomorrow please take it but she was so reluctant like I was asking her to carry a load down the road! Eventually she succumbed before we got into an argument. Why this attitude?? So appallingly unhelpful it ruined my day. And then they try to sell you stuff....!
The irish man that works there is so rude. Didn't very try to take my parcels looked at them and said we can't accept them. I beg to wonder as he is from further north and he heard my southern accent and seen the Celtic surnames if he was sectarian knowing I was from the other side. It upsets me to hear other irish folks being rude and passive aggressive. Are we not worldwide renowned for being the friendly folk. Honestly folks as a fellow Irish women this guy literally crawled out of the backend of a cave... what an oger! This sort of attitude wouldn't be allowed back home as he would be taken down of that high peddle stool he has placed himself on!. I hope I am wrong but why else would he be so rude and unhelpful.
Only two memebers of staff taking a while to do these duties creating a large queue of roughly ten people slowly increasing. My self in the queue for over 15 when coming to be served no apology which is very poor customer service. The asking politely for a letter and 1st clas stamp, to be told the letter are “round there” with no clear signs to the products to then be told I could only pay for the stamp on card but not the letter that had to be cash only, this experience was very annoying and wasted valuable time out of my day!! Something that should take two seconds made to be a complete task in its self
Few things can be more frustrating than having a 9-5 job and needing to post something (I know, first world problems...). This COULD be helped by post offices who stay open so that when you rush back to post something on time it's still open. Unfortunately this place closes before 5.30 - I arrived at 5.25 and it's lights off doors locked - so plan ahead and don't rely on them being open when there's an opportunity to head home early. Given 2* instead of 1 because the staff are nice once you get in and there's rarely a queue that doesn't move swiftly.
Everything other than the customer service is fine! The gentleman that served me yesterday was incredibly condescending and unhelpful, he needs to learnt that not everyone else in Leeds has been to a post office everyday of their life, which i’m sure he has as he’s one of 2 people working there. The lack of staff is remarkable when the demand from customers is so high? Looking at other reviews it seems as though you don’t listen to anyone’s problems and don’t care anyway which is stemming down to your staff, sort it out!!!
Don't bother using drop and go here, they say you need to fill out a massive form no other post office makes you, and when I looked it up, they're incorrect. The point of drop and go is to save time. Have to stand while they do 100 parcels in front of me because they won't process them the normal way. Rude as well. Crying in a post office, not my finest moment but looking at these reviews I'm not the only one they've made cry.
Rude staff- I was waiting with my mum in the COLD and when we asked the guy can we go in he said the limit of ppl is full. We looked and stared at a sign saying 9 allowed and when I briefly scanned inside there was only up to 5 incl staff but he was just so racist to deny us and make us wait in the cold. Also he has really bad customer service, one time he didn’t allow me to come in when there was just a few minutes to 4.
Had to go in this morning to purchase a signed-for service for a letter. No queue so out again quickly, but not at all impressed with the service provided. The female who served me was not at all interested in what she was doing, the conversation was monosyllabic and I had to ask three times for a cash receipt in addition to the certificate of posting. Will try a different PO next time..............
Some staff members are not helpful was there on the 1st March 2019 around about 4 to 5pm. There were two ladies who treated me so badly wanted to apply for my daughter British passport only to be questioned like a criminal asking me so many questions giving wrong information and suggestions . I wonder why they are there in the first place .I wouldn't recommend anyone to use them.
Irish fella knocked on my door today today to tell me that I packaged my parcel wrong. Dunno how he got my address, will remain a mystery, but he seemed pretty adamant that the way I packaged it up was not appropriate. Invited himself for a cup of tea to then tell me that the milk I bought was wrong and I needed to let it brew for another 27 seconds. Bit of a jobsworth tbh
Without a doubt the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. The Irish gentleman (interestingly lots of other comments about him in the reviews) is the most miserable, condescending and rude man I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I can only imagine he is extremely unhappy, but it seems unfair to project that onto everyone around him.
disgusting service. irish man was rude, unhelpful and condescending. tried to send off a parcel, rolled his eyes at me when i asked if he had any tape. after leaving to buy said tape, and then returning, another customer had the same issue and he was the exact same. he was also rude to every other customer in the queue, and was turning people away before closing.
I have been going to this post office for the last 5 years, I go here even if it's a little bit more far away than my home post office because of the good service and they never try to overcharge you! All the staff have been very nice with me. I wanted to thanks the Irish guy who helped me today, I'm pregnant and wasn't feeling really well. Thank you very much.
Dear Irish Man who works here: if you hate it so much why don’t you find another job? I hate going to this Post Office not only because I have to interact with you, but also because I have to stand in the queue beforehand and watch you be annoyed and rude with customers for the slightest reason. Please find a job that will make you happy
Wasn't sure when entering... As it is situated inside the community hub, but no problems once in the PO area. No queue and man behind the counter was helpful, if a little too knowledgeable. Great experience and found out why all my registered delivery eBay purchases never has proper tracking on it. You'll have to ask the man yourself.
After queuing outside for over 20 minutes and being told I would be served in 10 part way through the queue, when I reached the door I was told they weren’t letting any more people in to the building and it was closed. Even though it was an hour before advertised closing on the Royal Mail website. Absolutely atrocious service.
You've only got to stand in the queue in this Post Office to see how much the staff have to put up with. The staff here are awesome and the knowledge they have is second to none. I've had the pleasure of being helped by Emma on a few occasions and she has made each enquirey very easy for me. Top marks!
Quite rude staff members but not the worst I've had the displeasure of dealing, with hence the average star review. It's inside a library which makes you feel quite uncomfortable with the silence when there is an issue that needs addressing in the post office as everyone can hear you.
Just been told that the five pounds that the Scottish man in this post office gave me in change was a snide one, so check your change, I stupidly thought it been a post office I wouldn't need to, maybe it's not from the office itself maybe it's that cashier.
Told me to go to Sheepscar (an hour and £5) when presented with a royal mail paid postage because it's click and drop and offered literally zero other advice. Hopeless. Refunded and used MyHermes dropoff which was a bit more expensive but far easier.
I have been served many times by Bakula at this Post Office and she is a joy ….nothing is too much trouble for her and she is always chatty and efficient .. I would always go to this Post Office over others in the area because of this!!
Very unhelpful staff. Claimed not to understand the "online stuff" when apparently not enough postage had been paid on an international parcel. Was simply told to go and pay the correct postage online and return the next day.
Patronizing staff (irish man) on the counter. Would rather travel into the city centre for better customer service. No wonder they're all closing down. If you don't like serving/ helping people get another job.
When I have something to post i see this place as a necessary evil to go to. Staff almost always mean, blunt and just make the experience not nice. They only get 2 stars because at least they get the job done.
Would be 4*+ if it wasn’t for that rude Irish man. Perplexes me that someone so miserable, rude and disrespectful can be in customer service. Once he leaves I will be using the store more. …
Very awful service from this post office and very rude to customer the guy with glasses in the middle he wasted 10 minutes of our customers time he was side talks about football
Terrible service Irish guy told me that I can't post my parcel because there's a minimum weight limit??? Went to another postie and was able to send it no problem. Bit rubbish.
Very rude man behind the counter. Very poor customer service. On the contrary there was an asian young lady who was lovely. He should learn from her or find another job.
Good place. It's my impression that the gent criticized by other users has to put up with a lot, caused by the chaotic bureaucracy inflicted by Post Office/Royal Mail.
Busiest time of the day and only one cashier open. Only after a passport form. Why can't the forms just be in pigeon holes ready to be taken , would save a lot of time
Always massive queues and never know where your parcel is, no surprise when it’s just scrawled on a scratty bit of paper rather than having proper systems in place.
They're nice but they need a special lane for passport business. I had to stand for 35 minutes to return my parcel, which basically is pretty much *Beep* and Bye.
Maybe train the staff they seem abit out of this planet and bored to death . Dont even waste your time go to a different one . Unhelpful and rdy to get rid of you
Just sorted a passport application with a very helpful lady named Joanne. She was extremely helpful and sorted everything quickly and efficiently. Thanks Joanne!
Irish guy at counter has told me twice now that I didn't say the correct amount I wanted to withdraw. I see why there's lots of negative reviews about him.
The sign says "post office closed due to roof leak"....but it hasnt rained for days. At the very least update your profile on google maps please
Arrived before 4. The rude old lady at the door refused entry to three of us because it was closing time (despite it not even being five to 4).
Lost my parcel that was delivered there. Managed to lose it within 2 hours so I applaud them for being so quick at losing it.
Went to drop a parcel off and was at the wrong pace. What a pair of miserable, unhelpful, useless men you have working there.
Won't take a royal mail returns package despite royal mail site stating they do. Disgusting service and bad attitude
this post office is due to be relocated soon which is another sad day for the high st profits first customers last
The Irish man is the rudest person I’ve ever been served by. I really hope he enjoys being such a horrible human.
Never open at their published times. Will just close and say “sorry for the inconvenience”. You’re not sorry :,)
I had a very good experience in here.. Helpfull & nice Officer, quiet place, and my parcel are safe there.
There's a guy who works here and let's just say I won't be surprised if the postal guy goes postal
This post office closes too early, especially for someone who works nights …
Some staff members here are absolutely horrible. So rude and arrogant every time.
Lovely staff, very busy office and they are helpful when you ask for help!
Helpful staff. There may be queues but that is not the fault of the staff!
Small Store, Very busy at peak times with max 2 members of staff on hand.
The staffs at this Post Office is so helpful, great customer service!
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Would go again . …
