This station is a key transportation station, and it’s one of the busiest redline stations I’ve seen. The station is full of homeless people. I don’t have anything against homeless people, but a lot of them leave trash and throw it on the tracks as you can see. The station platforms get cleaned frequently throughout the day, but the tracks rarely get cleaned, and there is always trash there of all types. Bottles, cigarettes, bags, jackets, and of course RATS!! There are always people who keep yelling at everyone and harassing people. Overall, the station doesn’t seem safe nor clean. Moreover, it smells like sewers and weed 24/7.
I have one word for CTA—DISENFECTANT! This station (Jackson Blvd Red Line) had to be the strongest odor of human urine I have ever smelled since changing my kid’s diaper when he was a baby. So disgusting. It’s obvious there is a serious lack of cleaning of the common areas around the subway platforms. Functionally, CTA is good for getting people around town but gawd, please try to clean it up once in awhile!
This is station is similar to most of the other subways in Chicago. Unlike the Jackson blue line, the red signs give it a slightly brighter ambiance. Like the blue line, this is now the only station to transfer for free (via a tunnel). What makes this station great is the wonderful band(s) that perform usually during the afternoon rush hours!
Filthy, falling apart and sketchy as hell at most times. The CTA clearly isn't interested in addressing safety/security, so I avoid this station (and the CTA in general) after midnight. Had some really bad experiences in the past.
Usually a cool place to wait for the train, you know, sometimes some weird stuff like a man in a gorilla suit playing guitar. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy this. Also, on Sundays there's a lady singing gospel music so that's nice.
A very clean station. I like the fact that we have some entertainment such as musicians while we wait for our train comes and the there is a free accessible tunnel to transfer to the blue line without paying.
Clean and well maintained under ground station. Grant Park is at walkable distance from this station. There are multiple educational groups, hotels and eateries near to this station.
Ran into a funny performance here last night - a man (or woman?) In a gorilla suit lip-syncing to pop tunes. Fun but weird....
Great clean subway station, in the heart of the Financial District in Chicago.
Here is warm in the winter. The musicians can come here playing music.
There’s getting crowed with people smelling like …
Quaint station that connects Red and Blue lines directly.
Easy access, well located, frequent trains, clean enough.
Siempre tienen retraso la línea azul pero esta a la mano
Crime day or night need more C.P.D.
