i'm an ex-student so this might be a little out-dated review.. BUT good school, i enjoyed the classes (at the time some of the IT topics were out dated like how to google search), i was some of the only guys to do home economics ( i love cooking) and that class back then had a lesson on how to boil vegetables, and the teachers wouldn't let me make a black Forrest cake even though i begged them to let me and i even wanted to sacrifice my lunch break for it ! the wood work, and metal work classes i really enjoyed and i still remember and use some of the techniques they taught me back then.. now for the not so good stuff.. there was some dodgy stuff between one of the science/maths teachers Mr Edwards and some students, there were some rumours of student relationships...and i was present when he looked down a female students shirt during class.. but for some reason he was transferred to another school... this was back in 2004.. for now, I recently did a tour of the school, outstanding, they're teaching welding (which i'm very impressed) I cannot really comment on the rest of their classes but it seems KGSC has really made big leaps for education. if I had a kid I would strongly consider sending them here.

My daughter is learning at the primary school since perp. The school has great facilities, has 3 campuses, primary , middle and senior. The school has excellent student welfare programs and an abundance of highly trained extra -curricular teachers, coaches and coordinators at the Golf, Tennis, Soccer and Ballet School of Excellence etc. The new school buildings have an open plan, no constricting walls, it helps students to learn the art of focusing and concentration. The teachers are friendly, but you may need time to adjust to the curriculum, since it is enhanced and innovative (piggybacked by the Education Faculty at QUT). Brisbane State High and Kelvin Grove State College are perhaps the most multicultural and well rounded State Schools in Brisbane.

A very populated school with corresponding expansion of land size. Kelvin Grove State College is a great school with various opportunities, vaping and facility misuse does go around in older grades but if you don't acquaint with the wrong crowd you should be fine. The school is not unreasonably forceful and rather calm, it has an reasonably independent structure of uniform in comparison to other schools, so don't hesitate to enroll! Although I'd personally recommend the school to contrive and build new facilities where the 'temporary' blocks exist. Thanks for reading ~~

Not me, but a friend who tells me everything. The uniform is uncomfortable (especially in the summer), and isn't safe for girls as it is a thin white cotton blouse that becomes translucent when wet. It is a big and busy school with one counsellor and a lot of mean people. The sports programs are pretty good and fairly successful, but the academic program isn't as good as some make it out to be. TL;DR: Uniform uncomfortable and see-through, big, busy and sometimes mean, fairly good at sport, but not that good at academia.

i got expelled from this school in 2015 for having anxiety attacks, before I got excepted to gp tp uni at 16 and the school knocked me down, even though i went. I got the education department to investigate, and i was "un-expelled". I'm now studying law and education, and I give kelvin grove the blame or the responsibility in my development. As this school is a multing pot of cultures and believes. Not a fan in general, but if you are against belting your kids this experience will sort them out just as well

My son in year 8 were enrolling in the school but because my son isn't that good in English speaking and also because we ain't Australians so Mrs Jessica doesn't want to let my son to get enrolled and after long argument he got enrolled and Mrs Jessica wasn't satisfied with that so she didn't put my son in EALD class to improve his English she wanted make him FAIL And that school isn't fair for multi culture students else if you got P.R VISA

I am in 11th grade and currently attending this school. I am not from Australia, but everyone has been telling me how lucky I am to attend this school. If you are in the fence about this school or another one I would highly recommend this school. It does depend on the person going to the school but I am sure that if they attend the school they will find someone to hangout with due to the huge diversity in the school.

I lived my best days there. Every day I would meet my friends at school. The teachers were very nice to me. It had many activities and its location was very nice. There was no bullying and the students were very nice. I studied in this school from 2014 to 2017, it was really my best days in this life. I wish I could go back one day. Kelvin grove state college discriminates against poor students by not allowing them to attend extracurricular events such as school formals until school fees are paid. It’s not my children’s fault that I am poor so why punish them? They also will not allow my child to collect their senior jersey which has already been paid for?? Seems very shrewd for a school that is government funded…

I definitely will say that this isn't the best school around, but still at a high standard. Some of the facilities are old, but where I situate, it's pretty new around here. The toilets are ok, with some senior students doing some awkward stuff like vaping. I'll give my overall rating below. Teachers: 4.6/5 Facilities: 3.4/5 Students/behaviour: 2.8/5 Overall: 3.6/10

I've been particularly delighted with the teachers and facilities of this school for my daughter. Good after school care and paid groups. Nice integration with Uni. Very smooth integration from primary thru middle thru senior. Only reservation is that it's not close knit - eg there's no playing together after school as there is in some.

Good school with a good reputation, but very poor at dealing with bullying at school. They would rather the victim is "managed" away from view or from the school completely, with the bully nothing happens, and the cycle repeats. Very disappointed after being at this school for 9 years with 2 kids.

Students are great, quality of teachers have improved drastically and are quite helpful. Administration needs help or retraining- many mix-ups and sometimes very difficult to get a hold of specifics surrounding school events.

One of the best K-12 schools in Brisbane. Built next to a teacher's college (now QUT) the school has benefited from innovation, collaboration with tertiary and higher education, and a multicultural student population.
