I'm going to be fully honest. Mansfield is the worst school I've ever been to in my life. I've been to 7 schools, and Mansfield is by far the worst. The uniform policy is too strict, there are no free dress days and I don't understand why we have to wear our hat everywhere, even undercover. I've been threatened by teachers when I don't wear my hat. It's ugly honestly, and when people take the foam out to make it look better, we get forced to buy a new hat, which just starts the whole cycle again. When it's windy or I'm walking fast to get to my next class, I hold my hat because I don't want it to fly off, and I get yelled at. It's ridiculous. Let's start on the uniform. I'm a girl and I obviously have to wear the uniform for girl's. The blouse is see through, for starters, and if you sit down and arch over, you can see in between the buttons. I've also had instances where my buttons just randomly come undone. The skirt is fine if you roll it up to your knees but, it's so hot in Summer. The ribbon isn't that bad but, the way we have to wear our hair is so dumb. I don't understand why we can't have it in a high ponytail, or two braids or anything like that. The socks are fine, but the shoes are just ugly. I think we should be able to wear any black, leather shoes. And the jumper is ridiculous. People are freezing in winter, and they give us this thin jumper that does nothing. I refuse to buy one or wear one, because I don't want to waste that money on something that isn't even useful. Okay, now onto the bullying. They say Mansfield is a 'bullying free school' but no school is. They don't even try and stop the bullying and it's stupid. I'm a 13 year old girl, so I'm in year 8 and I've been getting bullied by year 10 boys that are twice my size and it's just scary to be honest. Everyone judges everyone. Well, most people anyway. A lot of my friends judge me and say that I'm 'growing up too fast' just because I don't act 4 years old. This obviously isn't the school's fault but it's a form of bullying. Mansfield is too strict. There is one really dumb rule where you can't be in within 30cm of the opposite gender. This rule is just plain stupid. I can understand if people are kissing or anything like that, but you can't hug them, hold their hand or even sit next to them, which is so stupid. I was sitting next to a friend of mine, who's a boy, and a teacher came over and said that if she sees us sitting together again, we'd go to the office. I don't understand why it's such a big deal. And this rule only applies to opposite genders. If I were to be sitting next to a girl, and holding her hand or leaning on her shoulder, than it's not a problem. But if it was a boy, detention. I'm straight but, if I were to be lesbian or if a boy was gay, than it's totally fine. Overall, this school is just bad. Save yourself and don't come here

Mansfield in general isn't the best school, but it's pretty alright for a public school. Your social standing as a student though, oh boy. I'm a recent graduate so I know what I'm talking about. Come to this school if you want to be treated like property. That is, of course unless you're the child of a P&C member, teacher or principal. In that case, do whatever you want because you'll find all the subject awards and leadership positions all magically float into your hands. If you're looking to move up the reputation ladder or have a say in what you'd like to see in school (how scandalous, right? Free speech?), literally just forget about it because you're either going to be mysteriously erased from the captaincy candidate list, or get called into an office to be yelled at until you cry. Don't fall for the traps around the school that make you think you have a say. Leadership positions are elected based on how much their belief aligns with the principal rather than the student body (and don't get me wrong, every year there are wonderfully ambitious and kind leaders elected, but otherwise they're not interesting and don't change much for the students). The student council is an endless yearly cycle of fixing broken toilet locks and exciting ideas that never come to life. The only saving grace is the newly created student column, but that is closely monitored by principals so writers are walking on thin ice. There's a minimal amount of fun events because all the principals get aneurysms from seeing students wearing clothes other than the uniform and because they care too much about their image. Yet, all the other equally-successful schools near Mansfield are doing just fine with their fun and crazy events. Utter a single word of change and you're dead. Even past student leaders have been condemned themselves for suggesting more religious diversity (remember, Mansfield is a PUBLIC school). All the principals gang up together and lie about never having seen a single senior prank when one is done every year (unlawfully of course, fun is not allowed on Mansfield school grounds). In a school where the principal prides themselves in saying "if you don't like this school, just leave", the best thing to do is to leave. And that's why I'm glad I left.

My little cousin has just started high school this year. They have been through a lot the past few years. It seems that they are surrounded by cruel & disrespectful boys whom demonstrate appalling behaviour, that do not make the high school experience enjoyable. Something needs to be done about bullying, as well as casual bullying. They have been told casually to “kill them selves” on multiple occasions, along with high volumes of body shaming, physical abuse, the list goes on. One particular boy, Mustafa in grade 7. He is one of the reasons they aren’t necessarily loving high school. THIS BOY NEEDS TO BE EXPELLED!!!! The amount of times my cousin has reported this behaviour, nothing has been done. He is constantly invading their space and deliberately trying to bring them down. I hope the school have made his parents aware of the behaviour he is demonstrating. My cousin has also experienced a male student from a higher grade, physically abusing them & a friend in their group. This boy was suspended, and returned back to school, to continue putting other students in danger. This isn’t making a safe environment for students, this is creating a dangerous one. Students shouldn’t have to go to school, worrying about their safety, simply because the school has taken no action to remove these kinds of students from this vicinity. I personally, would never send my children to this school, nor let anyone else send their children to this school. Clean up your act Mansfield, discontinue this behaviour, and make this a safe place for students to enjoy their high school experience.

Some of the staff members in this school are terrible, they are discriminating and plain racist. I have been at this school for 2 years and I have met over 10 different teachers who were all racist. Examples of them being racist include them saying, "what is your English name." Most teachers here also treat people differently according to their gender. Most teachers often side with the girls not matter what. This school is unfair and discriminative. It also isn't just the staff members as well. The behavior of the students here at this school is also racist. Calling black people "monkeys." They even make fun of Asians by putting a stereotype on you and saying that "you have no eyes." This school is also no different to the other schools near it. Most people in this school vapes. For example, one person used to be suspended for 6 weeks for selling vapes. The school however, reversed their actions and let him come back to sell even more vapes. I do not recommend anyone coming to this school unless they want to experience, name calling, severe bullying and extreme racism.

My children are going to this school and I think it's an excellent school. The whole system runs very smoothly and when I e-mail the admin staff or teachers with a question I always get a fast response. The IT staff is also great, helping the students with any laptop issues they might have. The uniform policy is very strict (maybe too strict?). I like that they have a strict "no mobile phone" policy. The only downside is that the school is so large (and still growing) which is daunting at first. Making friends who live locally is also not easy, as lots of kids seem to live in Sunnybank or even further away. But that's the price you pay for going to an excellent school with a fantastic reputation! The new buildings are great (new science centre and new sports centre in 2018/2019). The music program is brilliant, I love their concerts. Also the French teaching (French immersion) is pretty unique in Brisbane. I am very happy that my kids are going to this school!

Never had been a school like Mansfield Gonna tell you a story older than Mrs. Tanks Give me your ears or get the spanks You should listen it closely or get expelled Up there, high up in the air, once was a place called C block Never had been the place more treacherous Gonna have to risk your life to get through Let there be courage and strength to guide you You must be steadfast to go to place so dangerous Down you go, if you made a single squawk Never should you stop once Gonna jump with ecstasy when you reach the classroom Run, run like your life depends on it, run with a zoom Around the stairs, past the teachers and math puns And at last you shall reach the end, slow down your walk Desert the block, as I now know why the place was so free You heard true story abt how I thought I had math at period 3.

This school has gone from strength to strength. When I started at this school in 2008, everything was great about the school - the teachers, the students, the community, the music excellence program, the french immersion program - except for the infrastructure, the buildings themselves. Over the past seven to eight years the school has massively improved the quality of their facilities, air-conditioning, smartboards, new buildings, etc. They're now at a point where the school is in really great shape. Beautifully painted, refurbished, and a great place of learning and teaching. They have the right approach to education and deliver it holistically, rather than just focusing in on grades. Mansfield was, for me, a rounded, fun high school experience.

this school gave my younger cousin with Asperger's even further brain damage because he was held upside down while his clothes removed as the 10 or so boys he told me assaulted him wanted to know if he was 'packing'. After they saw his member, they put his head in an unflushed toilet with a number 2. He fell unconscious and the boys finally left him alone. I am warning any parents with a neurodiverse child don't send them to this school. As we are indigenous, my auntie and uncle do not feel comfortable with approaching the police and the school are sure as hell not. So I really don't know what to do.

First term of my high school life, been called multiple racial and other offensive slurs, the teachers were not supportive of my queer identity nor were the students. When i sat down at e block and started barking at my friends as a welcome and hello they spat on me. i cried and was super duper sad! Thanks to this school, i have fell into the endless abyss of depression and possessed by suicidal thoughts everyday of my miserable life, no one ever loved or care for me, life itself is a manifestation of pure agony itself. This school has such mean and aggresive people i do not recommend it.

Mansfield School, oh how you disappoint Your students yearn for knowledge, yet none is imparted Teachers drag their feet through each dull lesson plan While students slump in chairs, eyes glazed and blank The halls echo with whispers of neglect A crumbling infrastructure that no one respects Leaky roofs and broken windows leave much to be desired And the budget barely covers basic needs But fear not, dear student, there's hope ahead For better schools where learning flourishes instead Where teachers inspire and facilities uplift And every student feels valued, nurtured, and gifted

Ms soterio Is aggressive and doesn’t deserve to be an authority figure, she fails to address and resolve basic issues to an adequate level and results in yelling to get her point across. How are you going to be a teacher and act like a child when resolving an issue? Yelling and saying students are “looking for attention” when out of uniform is far from mature, maybe there are some other issues regarding her personal life to trigger these inappropriate responses to children but regardless this is far from professional and shows great levels of immaturity.

This is one of best schools I have come across. The Dedication of the teaching staff and overall conduct of admin staff is excellent. My son is a changed kid, loves going to school, with so many opportunities, like music, sports and great multicultural environment. I had recently attended a music ensemble by all the students, the talents displayed by the students was excellent and would really pay to watch them play. I have no regrets moving my son from a famous Private School to Mansfield High. Keep up the good work Principal and Staff.

Ugly uniforms, angry, burnt out teachers, and racist students define this place. As a former teacher, DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE. I have included a Chinese and Hindi translation for the parents reading this. This place is not what it is made out to be.

  • Tomoose

This staff at this school is very (Help)ful when it comes to (me) understanding. (They) always are willing to listen and (have) a chat with the struggling students. It always nice when people are willing to help students have (a) go. Also Mansfield has a strict no (gun) policy, which is already better than American schools (to). (My) only quarrel with this school is the amount of pressure they put on students gives me a (head)ache.

  • Adzzy 69

I went here expecting chicken rolls, they tasted great but I noticed a bit of a cotton taste in them, turns out they actually cook the kids who go to "school" here for your food. I'm now a vegetarian.

  • PUI SUM NG

Most of the teacher there were fine. And the education was fine too. But the most concern things is that we need to seat on the floor at lunch. And not allow to eat in the classroom.

  • Bradley Henn

This school... With out the support I have been getting from staff I would have never made or even started my game (Dark hours 2). Thanks teaching teachers for teaching.

  • Darren Anderton

I would imagine enrollments will plummet after what this schools staff did to a twelve year old boy, the boys father should begin civil action for what was an assault.

  • Zeeshaan Khan

Make sure your kids shave even 1mm stubble or they will be booted from the class missing vital formula equations and general learning. Discrimination at its finest.

  • Artologia

No, Teachers aren't very good. Only 1 of all the teachers I have had is decent. Racism, Bullying and just unfairness is common. Many don't like the school anyway.
