What has happened to this Kmart? It used to be the Australian flagship store but now it is low on stock, short staffed and the service is particularly bad. Today I went to the checkouts to purchase a few things and there were about 20 customers waiting. Not a single checkout operator to be seen. Everyone was forced to use self service. I was buying about 30 items so I was really hoping there would be someone to assist me. I asked a staff member walking past whether an assisted checkout would open, she just mumbled something and kept walking. Wow. That's friendly service for ya. I waited in line and put my items through. The register kept stuffing up so I had to wait for someone to come and assist me. The whole checkout process took 20-30 minutes. Finally I got my purchases and headed out. Now came the ICING ON THE CAKE. The person at the door checked my receipt and it turned out I had not put one item through - yeah it's confusing that's why I wanted some help. Suddenly the manager and his bodyguard turned up and treated me like I was trying to steal something. I tried to explain what happened and he did not care one iota. Did not take responsibility for the lack of staff and was not interested in what I had to say. Overall a very stressful experience when all you want is to do your shopping, pay for your items and be on your way. This was a failure on so many levels but basic courtesy and manners towards your customers would be a good start.

I wish I could like this kmart but it's the staff which concern me. I returned a faulty suitcase, I guess the staff didn't see me come in with it but when I went to customer service they accused me of nicking it off the shelf trying to get a refund. I explained that I had JUST come in and to check the cameras if they didn't believe me. Once they confirmed the guy was super rude and quite huffy about the whole thing? Like y tho? When I went to buy a new one I had FOUR staff come up to me and ask me to either open or shake the bag checking if I had nicked anything inside. It was very embarrassing and honestly made me feel like I had done something wrong just to get my refund. Then recently I purchased an item with a security tag. Once I noticed what it was I asked the gentleman to remove it for me but he loudly exclaimed that he could only remove it once it was purchased, so I showed him my receipt and again he accused me of grabbing it off the shelf. I get that it's a 24hr kmart but at the same time I don't know why it's always me with white staff? It's not a vibe, be cautious if you're not white.

***Update 2023*** Not so happy today. We have been doing the Kmart wishing tree now for many years, previously at Kmart Brandon Park, before they closed that one, where the staff were really enthusiastic about the wishing tree. Today, we walked in the store and didn't see the tree or the boxes to drop off the Christmas presents. We asked the staff member at the door and she pointed to the shopping baskets and said there they are (as though that should have been obvious) See pictures, they are hidden. The staff member was rude like we should have known that they would be hidden behind the shopping baskets, citing recent thefts as the excuse. There was also no signage and no tags. That staff member had no knowledge on how or where to get the tags either. It was a thoroughly disappointing experience and we left, deciding to take our wishing tree presents to a different and apparently safer Kmart. 2018 Open 24 hours a day great for when you need something or just have get out of the house at night

Great stuff, is that why the staffs have been indifferent and ignorant towards their customers? When I walked in the door and said hello to them, they ignored me completely. If that was not enough, I had to yell (yeah yell) at the staff at pay station who was just 2 metres away from me for assistance. What’s more, when I walked out and alert went off to the magnetic security tag on my clothes. They looked at me and said: you can go. Little do I know when I go home, these little things are impossible to take off! When I call their phone number, no one picked up until 5 or 6 mins later, one staff picked up, in a robotic tone they said: how can I help? I explained the situation and no compassion was shown, all they said were oh yeah, you must come down to the store again, you cannot take that off. I’m sorry(no you are not) to hear that. Bye. I might be unreasonable here, but that was really upsetting. I do not want to enter this shop ever again.

Today I lost my $50 notes in the store. I am totally take responsibility loosing my money, and don’t blame the store and anyone else for it. I just realized that when I was at the pay machine and couldn’t find my note. $50 Is not a big deal, and I was upset snd disappointed of me. But When I asked the staff members for the store lost and found, I was advised that they don’t have policy and and rules over cash money and whom ever found money can have it! I was asked what if I found some money now, who should I give it to, and was told that “it will be yours”! I didn’t really appreciate the store policy, it does not encourage community responsive to return what’s not belong to them! So after returning home decided to return whatever I purchases today, to punish myself snd the stupid the company’s policy.

Customer service from the Store Manager, St@ph@n was unhelpful, impatient, angry and terse, and after he walked away, he rudely gave a big ‘tsk’ that 7 others in the Customer Service queue could hear him. He immediately rejected / said no to anything I was going to say, including my preference to get a replacement/exchange for a not acceptable quality dog bed. The fabric was thin and easily damaged. After listening to him speak belligerently towards me, I left the store feeling overwhelmingly upset and cried walking to Coles with concerned customers seeing me too. I tried reading the Australian Consumer Guarantees and even Kmart’s Returns Policy to him, but he immediately didn’t care and did not want to care. Would expect more professional tone, attitude and personality from a Store Manager.

lets start with if i could rate this store 0 out of 5 after my 1 hour 20 minute visit tonight trying to get a few things refunded which the staff where happy to help me with as i had all my receipts until there manager Bernadette come along and there system was playing up not doing refunds so i said thats fine just refund me in vouchers which i was told could not be done even after showing i had all my receipts and wasting my time at the service desk for 1 hour and 20 minutes going to be a great morning when i wake up and contact consumer affairs and others with this story worst manager of any store i have ever dealt with good luck shopping at this store i will never step foot in the store again even if it is the last one standing store rating 0 out 5 stars manager -5 out of 5 stars

Kmart Burwood Visited on 9/2/2023 Kmart is great for ma y electrical items. Their home brand products are fairly reasonable and good quality. Visited on 6/8/2022 I have not been to this Kmart store for years, because there was a smaller one near my house. Furthermore, my home is well established, and nothing is ready for landfill. The Kmart store is no longer a retail outlet; instead it is for online pick-up. Kmart Burwood is a very huge store, very bright and well stocked. Besides clothing, bedding, it also sells electrical appliances, electronic accessories, home office needs, and even a garden centre. The staff are helpful and friendly; my wife and I enjoy our shopping experience. The proof is in our bill of purchase.

Rudest service by staff member Irene. This is the 2nd time i have come in 2weeks. Hoping it was a different person. I had a few items of clothing & office items. Wanted assistance using the 'self-checkout'. Her manner was pretty poor for a service person. I left my items on the table and left. She didn't even try to assist or stop me leaving. Tomorrow Target will get my business. They cater to both self-serve & staff assisted customer counters. Irene is definitely not suited to this job. Her manner, and tone are very poor. If i could rate ZERO stars just for service i would.

Kmart Burwood is the most popular retail store in all Melbourne metropolitan suburbs. Bernadette and her team are doing a fantastic job in catering for all the customer’s needs and taking into consideration the high volume of customers entering the store continuously especially in the evenings. Staff member Sienna performed outstandingly under pressure in dealing with customers. Her interpersonal skills managed to calm some of the grumpy customers resulting in a win for all. Well done! An asset to the company.

Price displayed $2 in the shelf but individual items marked as $4 .I checked with a sales person what is the correct price and He said shelf display $2 is right please let the counter knows so they will charge ONLY $2 .Went to the counter they scanned as $4.The sales girl tried to tell it's a incorrect display.Not sure how many items they sell with true price that is displayed against charge when you scan .Beware! Note:This is not the amount of money it the confidence of the PRICE TAG/Price displayed.

Bought a Spalding basket ball for $32 which was mostly deflated (as were all of the same variety). Advised the lady at the checkout who simply responded “I don’t buy basketballs from here”. After returning the product advised customer service again who dismissed our concerns again. Sadly we were desperate so purchased a similar product but a very disappointing experience overall

Store is massive and great part about it is it is open 24hours. But sadly I travelled all the way there to purchase a kids bookshelf to find that I am missing parts when I assemble it at home (and now have to drive up and return it). The box was sealed so I assumed everything was fine. I know these things happen but it is still pretty disappointing with the quality of the item.

It's very convenient having this Kmart store open 24 hours sometimes. I had to pick up a cable for work at 4:30am to get things fixed for tomorrow. Due to the time I was shopping, there were only minimal staff but I've been here many times before and the staff have always been friendly. Sometimes they don't have the exact item you need in stock but they're usually pretty good.

Stopped by to pick up some pet supplies. Found what I needed. Staff was helpful in giving directions. Checkout was quick but there was a small issue with the weight thing when I tried to use my own bag. It was too sensitive and it kept stopping and requesting to get staff assistance.

Last time we were there we saw some shortages on the shelves and not a great deal of staff but that is everywhere. This time there was plenty of stock. I saw alot of smiles and hellos. Hopefully with masks gone people will get back to work. We had no problems at the registers. I would shop there again. The overall shopping centre is a great walk around.

i had a Kmart click and collect order while it was very busy and customers were getting reckless and i had a polite young man by the name of Liam come out and reassure everyone they were trying and that all our orders would be sent out as soon as possible. Love that this Kmart is 24/7. Can get quite busy but you can find most things that you need here. I like that it’s bigger than most Kmarts which means it tends to have more stock. Staff are friendly too and lots of parking right in front which means it’s easy for access.

This Kmart has the largest range of options I’ve ever seen! All of the online only items were in store, and there were other things that had sold out in most stores that were still on the shelves here. Also, they have a nursery outside!! How awesome is that?! …

It's great. 24 hours open, not much busy. But some items are not presented. Like car rubber mats, windscreen washer, phone mount, bicycle light. It's happening quite alot recently. You have to go to service desk for them which is a bit annoying. Otherwise it's perfect.

Very large and original Kmart, open 24 hours. Prices are very competitive. Lots of parking. Offers a wide variety of homewares, clothing, gardening accessories et all. Kmart has an excellent toys section with very cost effective pricing and a wide variety of options.

This Kmart is open 24 hours, which is great for late night shopping trips. Cheap and fairly cheerful. Staff are always helpful and happy to assist when needed. Kitchenware is particularly good for simple things like chopping boards, storage, glasses etc.

Open 24 hours so good for midnight runs or if you need something quick, stock is always consistent to online but they have been a bit low on stock so check online before venturing for a particular thing. HOWEVER, perfect for midnight shopping :))
