Edit 2: As you can see from their response, below, there is no transparency with these guys. They are trying to make the call out fee the issue when I was perfectly happy to pay the call out fee. They obfuscated the truth regarding the fixtures and that's the real issue. If they wanted to fix the issue, they could email me but they haven't. Follow up review: I'm sorry to have to change my review from 5 stars to 1 but after engaging this company for a 2nd job, I've been treated pretty poorly. I asked this company to attend my house to give a quote on installing a plumbed fridge and to also fix 2 loose taps - 1 in the bath, 1 in a shower. I asked how much it would be and was told that the call out fee was $165 including the first hour of work and that fixing the taps would be covered by that. I was then asked whether I would be supplying the materials. I said that I didn't have time to get out to Bunnings so the plumber offered to pick up the materials. The work was done and to my shock I was hit with an invoice for almost $400! When I asked for an explanation, I was told materials cost $190. I looked at Bunnings' website and saw that the average materials would have cost max $35 per set. It was only then that I was informed that they wouldn't use Bunnings supplies. The plumber admitted he should have informed me of the cost but failed to answer my further queries so I have held off on paying the invoice until I get an explanation. I'm now being threatened with debt collectors. Original review: L&W Plumbing did a great job installing an entirely new toilet in my ensuite plus a new cistern and seat for the toilet in the main bathroom. Unlike another local plumbing company which I won't name, Jake was able to give me an accurate estimate of the costs over the phone and didn't try to hard upsell me. I expect that for a straightforward task, a professional tradesperson should be able to give me a rough quote over the phone without forcing me to make a booking. Jake clearly knows his trade, was responsive when calling me back and made sure he understood the problem before giving advice. He was prompt to attend and did a clean, quality job on the installation. Not only did he stick to his quote, he did a little extra for no charge because he's the kind of person who believes in doing the job well. Due to that, I'm already planning on having Jake return to carry out other plumbing work and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to friends and family.

I recently had the pleasure of hiring Jake who installed new taps and toilets in my home. I engaged Jake to solve my storm water issue following the excavation of a pool area. His solutions were considered and fairly priced. He was professional, courteous, arrived exactly when he said he would and delivered the quote extremely quickly. Having seen his work now (2 stormwater pits pumping out to the street), I would say he is meticulous with his work. He clearly is a master at his trade. Furthermore, at the 11th hour before the pool concrete was supposed to be poured, the pool builder notice the sewer inspection pipe was cracked and needed urgent replacing (to avoid pool delays). After calling around, nobody was willing to do the work at such short notice, which put our summer pool delivery at significant risk. Jake, already being on site, offered to resolve for me, which we are grateful for. Thank you Jake. You're going to be the first I call moving forward.

A big thank you! We had an emergency situation and unfortunately went with another technician prior who quoted thousands to get a job done, charged a quote (booking fee) & turned up 2 hours late. L & W came to us promptly the next morning quoted way way way way under, were respectful & no quote fee… really professional, wonderful customer service and just a genuinely good person to deal with!! Can't thank L&W Plumbing enough! Due to all this rain my storm water was blocked up. The water had already flooded my yard and was almost coming into my house. I called Jarod at 6am this morning (on a Saturday) and both him and Jake were at my house by 7! Our old hot water heater failed. I was dreading having to find a plumber. The last occasion was not great. Coincidentally some friends had their water heater fail the previous week and had done their research and got quotes. They recommended Jake at L & W Plumbing. Jake from L & W Plumbing squeezed us in early one morning on his way to another job. We had hot water and water pressure issues. Jake located a number of practical issues to solve and improvements to make and he did them straight away after checking with us. We found his attitude and positivity terrific and highly recommend him.
