Came here on a Saturday night for a friend’s birthday dinner. I wanted to really like this but the food here was way below then what I expected. Ordered the Old Fashioned and it was super sweet and the ice cubes were small which quickly diluted the alcohol. Really disappointed. We then ordered the 1.4kg tomahawk steak medium rare, and it came out more like rare and very undercooked. After one bite we kindly asked for it to be cooked longer, which they obliged. It was a little bit better but some parts were still undercooked. Also this is the first time I’ve had a tomahawk steak that was already cut into pieces, kinda strange in my opinion as it loses its presentation on arrival. The accompanying sauces were just ok. On the positive, the staff here worked hard and was very accommodating to us even on a busy Saturday night which I appreciate. The atmosphere here was very jovial, at times loud as the crowd would sometimes sing along but all in good fun.

We took the kids basketball team for a end of Season celebration dinner and drinks. Both of the kids meals were shocking and some of the worst I’ve seen at a pub. The mini burgers had mustard and pickles on them… are u serious!!?? What kid do you know likes those?? Then my 3 year old had fish and chips and when we cut into it we discovered half frozen and half jelly chewy flesh and had to send it back. It was also so thick and steak like , im not sure how any kid could ever eat it. Surely fish bites or something more easily to eat for a kid would be better suited for a kids meal? Then my meal came and the $30 burger was dry and tasteless and with a half full bowl of chips. Maccas do way better burgers for half the price and 16 year olds cook them. Needless to say I won’t be rushing back anytime soon for anything to eat from the middle park hotel.

The room itself was alright. The location is good as it's directly across a tram station, in between downtown and St. Kilda and the Middle Park Beach or Albert Park. But... Other than promised in the description, there is no parking at the hotel itself. You have to walk two blocks and park at the street parking (or risk a ticket directly in front of the hotel). Additionally the service regarding both, hotel and restaurant was quite poor: at checkout I haven't been asked whether everything was alright or not. Pretty much the same when I had dinner at the hotels restaurant one evening. I wasn't even handed cutlery, napkin and water (I had a burger but still).

Went there for lunch & had the beer battered rockling. Think it was just not the right choice for me on the day. Don't let this put you off. It was disappointing for me, in terms of; - If you like batter, this is a plus, there was soooo much - The salad with the peas, was a couple of leaves with a few peas, but the dressing was delicious - The chips were chips, and lots of them :-) I think I picked the wrong thing for me. The service was great, the staff super helpful & I'm definitely going back to try some of the other delicious sounding dishes. Check out their menu and try it before you decide.

The review is only focused on the restaurant. Great spot to grab a beer after an outdoor/indoor exertion or a relaxing walk at Albert park, which is what we did. In a warm highlighted by the decor, cheerful staff and the frequent jolly families and middle-aged crowd, we enjoyed our conversation (not at all muddled by loud music) with frequently stolen glances at the Footy match on the television. There's ample space to move about and another dining section apart from the bar. The food was delicious, especially chicken parmigiana (cheese-loaded) and cocktails. Dropped a star which I felt necessary for the just-above-average priced beer and food.

Needed somewhere for an overnight stay as we had a wedding to attend nearby. For what we needed, it was perfect. Good place to get ready, then come back to have a good night's sleep. We were at the back, so there was no view, but it was super quiet. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and we both slept like we were at home. Bathroom was well appointed, shower was hot, plenty of mirrors. The whole room was lovely and clean, heaps of power points - there was a pod coffee machine but no coffee or other items like sugar etc. Great having the bar downstairs for a few drinks prior to heading out.

Nice atmosphere and location. Whilst I understand it was father's day and busy, the food took 2hrs and came out luke warm to cold. The potatoes were stone cold solid rocks and the roast was probably nice when it was hot but it was barely warm. Congealed fat isn't appealing. We got ice cream for the kids from the local IGA because we got told it would be an hour if we ordered. It took longer to explain this to us than it would have taken to scoop 3 small bowls of ice cream for 3 kids under 7yrs. For 6 adults and 3 little kids with no desserts and only 3 entrèes + a long wait, over $500 was exorbitant.

Great looking Hotel across from Albert Park. Only visited for afternoon refreshments. There was an amazing range of beer on tap. My friend had a cocktail. The outdoor area spilled out onto the road. I was disappointed with service and condition of venue - guess it was the after affects of the Formula 1 Race. The beer garden was a mess and not fit for use - and I wasn't overly keen on tables and chairs on road. My beer was delicious but my friend wasn't happy with the cocktail. It was a shame because my friend brought me to this Hotel - maybe I turned up on the wrong day.

We were looking for a place to catch up midweek and grab a steak. we went in without a reservation and was seated in the dining room which has great ambiance for such a big place. I’d imagine it gets very busy on weekends it was busy but quiet so perfect to catch up and converse comfortably. We ended up getting the Waygu beef pie, peas and a Margarita. We sat afterwards in the front bar they have tellys to watch the sports. Plenty of Indoor and outdoor seating options, wide range menu catering for all budgets. 10/10 I would eat here again.

Man, I just paid $67 for a Scotch Filled that looked, tasted and had the texture of a rump steak. I asked for medium rare and, I have been ordering Scotch fillets at pubs for over 40 years, it was dry and tough. If I had ordered a rump steak I would have given these guys a 5 star rating. For this meal, I only give them one. Why? (because I can’t go lower) and because when I was asked what I had been served I was told it was a Scotch fillet!! Making it the worst piece of meat that I have ever had! Lazy, pretentious and a complete RIP OFF! F this place!!

We visited a couple of months ago and enjoyed Sunday lunch but today was a different story. There was no longer a choice of meats. The pork was fine, the crackling was tasty (but cold) . The ‘crispy roast potatoes’ were boiled potatoes which had been sitting in oil (not roasted at all) and the Yorkshire pudding was very oily. There was some gravy. Service was fine in parts but inattentive for large parts. I did give my feedback but I don’t really think anyone cared. Overall the experience was disappointing.

Cosy pub for locals offers a large public bar area with fireplace, several large screen TVs and expansive dining area (although meals can also be served in the bar area). Drinks are priced at the upper end with a pint of local pint costing $14. Meals are also priced at the upper end, e.g. 300 gram porterhouse steak @ $45 and chicken parmigiana @ $29. The chef on duty when I visited likes to cook steak on the rare side so best to order one up from what you normally like, i.e. order 'well done' if you like 'medium well'. Rare is a bloodbath

Tried some ( extremely small ) oysters that arrived on a smattering of rock salt and no ice, I tried one which obviously wasn’t chilled and sent them back. They were replaced with an identical looking serve and again sent them back as they weren’t cold! We also had some crumbed calamari which was actually good. We had some beef sliders which tasted ok but were tepid. Next came the Caesar salad complete with limp lettuce, bland dressing, processed chicken cut into slices and bizarrely whole rashes of bacon. The beer was good. Never again.

Unfortunately not returning again. Great hotel, beautiful interior however over the last few months there’s been a noticeable decline. My last 2 visits the food has taken over an hour to arrive (Cesar salad) , it’s been prepared with tasteless ingredients (not to the same standard as 2022) and the server was completely absent in the process. Another couple next to us waited over 1.5hrs on their food in which the process was not managed well enough given their experience. Do better. Huge potential to be the amazing hotel it once was.

Our room was small, but comfortable and had everything we needed. Nice new bathroom, very comfortable bed with lots of pillows, a coffee machine and Tea Drop teas provided. Street parking was no trouble and the hotel is right across the road from the train station! Check-in, check-out process very streamlined and no fuss. A great base for a couple of nights in wintry Melbourne.

Courtenay made our stay the best! She really took care of us and has a lovely energy. The rooms are clean and modern, soft sheets and giant fluffy towels make it feel luxurious. Right next to the tram, so it’s easy to get to CBD. There’s also several good cafes for coffee in the morning — everything you need for a nice stay in Melbourne.

I recently booked a number of rooms at the Middle Park Hotel for some family and friends to stay in while visiting for our wedding. The rooms, location and bar / restaurant were absolutely perfect. All of the guests really enjoyed their stay. The accommodation manager Lian was incredibly helpful and friendly to deal with throughout the booking process despite my endless questions / changing plans! Would highly recommend a stay at the Middle Park Hotel.

Booked Xmas lunch with the family without expecting too much given the price per head was very reasonable compared to other venues. Staff were super attentive and from the time we arrived it showed that there is great management and staff training. Excellent day, great vibe in the room, food abundant to the point of excess but overall one of the best experiences eating out. Thank you.

3 of us popped on the 96 down to Middle Park for drinks and a bite to wind down on a Friday night. First time I'd revisited since going to a Meatopia event there 10 years ago. Happy to say the standards have been maintained! Service was super attentive, and the tomahawk steak was mind-blowingly great. The steak I ordered was luke warm at best and dead cold by the time I finished eating, as was the wood fried greens which had no hint of wood flavour. So was the other 3 mains at our table. I reckon the meals sat there in the kitchen for probably 30 minutes before service to the tables. Obviously no heat lamps or pre-warmed plates. Extremely dissatisfied. $375 for for four people inclusive of a bottle of Shiraz and 2 beers for a bad experience.

Loved dining at the Middle Park Hotel. The service was amazing from start to finish. A great way to spend a Friday afternoon. The food was incredible, the starters were fresh and delicious and the steak was cooked to perfection! The sides and sauces were also divine! We stayed in the double room and it was extremely small - two people can’t stand without getting into each other’s way. Reception was unattended and did not answer the phone each of the three times we reached out including for checking out. Our room had not been cleaned properly - there was a beer can under the bed. No lift so we had to carry our luggage up and down two flights of stairs. Edgy and modern finishes but wouldn’t come back.

Our go to when in Melbourne - great rooms, good menu & quality of meals, excellent selection of drinks - highly recommend.

Travelled from Geelong for a family Mothers Day Lunch - well worth the trip! Large menu with something to suit all tastes. The food was delicious and meals a generous sized serving. Although the pub was very busy, staff were friendly, attentive, but not intrusive. We were greeted by a staff member as we entered to pub, and the atmosphere was great. This hotel is in a great location with parking around the vicinity . Good choice!

Renovated rooms are great but a little small. Well appointed and a bonus having the pub downstairs. Good meals, great drinks at reasonable prices. A number of secluded places to sit for a quiet conversation. This was our third time here and it doesn't disappoint.

Came to celebrate my Mum's Birthday and had a really lovely lunch. Really enjoyed the Tomahawk. Margarita and Aperol were really good too. Whilst not on the cheap side for a pub meal, we did order the most expensive steak on the menu and the portion size was plenty without sides, starters or deserts. Staff were super friendly and Sophie, our waitress, was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient.

Great lively ambiance with upbeat music playing in the background, Middle Park Hotel offered spacious venue that was perfect for group gatherings. The food and drinks were those of typical pub offerings, but the hanging lamb kebab I ordered looked pretty impressive and was decent. Service was a bit slow, although it was Friday night when we visited and they were very busy.

Always love visiting here in winter. It has a great interior and really snug and warm. The food is always good. Really enjoyed my steak tartare and beetroot salad. The bone marrow is one of my go to sides. The burger and salmon was good. Steaks are excellent. The sides are all good. We highly recommend and always return.

Stayed 2 nights with 2 friends, fantastic location, rooms were very clean & comfortable. Can hear some noise at night while the bar is open but not bad & is turned off at suitable time. Staff were brilliant & highly recommended for a few days away. Please note the staircase up to the room is quiet steep, that being said we managed to get our bikes up & down OK.

Middle Park hotel has gone throught its up and down over the last few years, but just dropping in tonight we had an excellent experience. The food was great and the service was fantastic. A stand out was Chali/Charley behind the bar. She was lovely with great attention to detail and excellent customer service. Thanks for a great night MPH.

Great pub meal and outside seating in the ‘car pars’ was supported with heaters dotted sensibly around. Staff knowledgeable and friendly. The food was amazing .. huge parma and delicious chips. Let's be real, only got good things to say. The dining room was so comfortable and welcoming. Staff were fantastic and the food was absolutely unreal not to mention beer selection was on point. Definitely recommend getting down there, even if it's just for a few drinks in the beer garden or bar. I'll for sure be coming back.

Very disappointed that the Sunday roast was already sold out at 6pm and the restaurant wasnt very busy. How can this happen? Had organised a family birthday dinner just because of the roast so then had to order the more expensive steak which was hit and miss on quality. Sorry, but won't be back again.

Waited 40m for a steak which was burnt. Asked for a new one and they forgot my order, thankfully they apologized and gave a free meal but not a pleasant experience. Might be better in non busy times, some steaks looked decent.

Worst service - meals came out 20 minutes apart. (We both ordered the same steaks). Pull your heads in, disappointing.

Really nice looking pub, great location, and good service but... unfortunately the food was absolutely horrible!

Sunday lunch at the Hotel - sitting in the sun. Chicken Parma was good and fries are delicious. Good service.

Always a good meal when I come here. Never had a bad experience. Staff are all really great as well.
