I was admitted for AV Node and pacemaker by Dr Govender on 2 August 2023. Before the procedure I was given a beautiful private room with ensuite bathroom. After the procedure I was taken to CCU. The experience was not good. The staff are rude and extremely loud. Given that it is a CCU I would like to think that the staff will be quiet and respectful to their patients, This was not the case. On many occasions I asked for water, finally it was put down on the table next to the bed. My arm was in a sling and I could not reach. The ecg machine at times alarmed and it was just ignored. During the night I asked several times to be assisted to walk to the toilet or to bring me a bedpan. Eventually a bed pan was pushed under my bum. It was not put properly and as a result I wet the bed and my theatre gown. It took the nurse 45 minutes to respond to me asking for help. I asked the nurse to please get my toilet bad and bring me a bowl to wash myself. Her attitude was shocking. She was rude and ripped the sheets off, not wiping the pee that was all over the bed and myself. Alarms were going off the whole night and the staff did not attend to the patients as they should. They were chatting and screaming at each other from accross the unit. I have been in many hospitals in the past 5 years and Milpark was the worst. If it was not for the fact that Dr Govender operates here I would never have come here. Rest assure and God forbit I need another procedure.

My experience at milpark hospital. I was there for 2 months of which my 1st month and a 1/2 was in the Trauma ICU and then for while at the week afterwards, I was in the general ward, my experience was definitely nothing better than a one star which I've given the hospital and in the general ward been the same. I know that hospitals have got that general clause that's not responsible for theft etc. But with in my case, I don't think it's fair that nobody even gave a hoot to even try to find out who stole my headset valued at around R750, they employ certain staff that actually steal and. I lost a valuable headset. And they didn't do anything or worry about it at all, so that's being part of it and the nursing staff in the ICU that was a horrible experience where they were handling me etc, ignoring me when I needed assistance and were very loud as well, chatting and laughing at the edge of your bed while I am trying to get a good night's rest in. Yeah, milpark, you're not gonna see me again.

I have just had a horrible experience in the CCU/ICU getting shouted at by the nurse who is allegedly meant to be looking after my mother. Most of the time I can only make the 15h00 visiting hours and most of the time my mother is unattended. I'm a teacher of students with special needs and I know what it means to show caring! This nurse has one patient and she was disgusting. I know that it's a job and they don't care but there should be management reminding the team that this is very stressful for the patient and the family! I went to the Head Doctors rooms and reported it. The longer my mother is there the more I question what is it exactly that makes Milpark the alleged flagship hospital of Southern Africa.

The waiting time was extremely long. I arrived at 13:30 and only got help at just after 17:00 and I was in excruciating pain throughout this time. While I understand the stressors of hospitals and staff, the staff (nurses and the Dr who saw me) left me uninspired. They made no effort to connect, and to hear me. Rather, they were distracted and kept holding other conversations with their peers, instead of assisting me. I left unsure if any of the assistance I got would help me to heal in a very distressed time.

I would like to thank everyone at the Milpark Emergency department. I have been there multiple times and I have always received exceptional care from the medical staff. I would like to especially thank Dr. Monteith. This week was the second time he attended to me. The first time was when I had a head injury and had to received stitches. And thanks to his exceptional detail orientated work, my injury healed beautifully. And also this week when I fainted. It is nice to feel safe and taken care off. Thank you.

I waited 3 hours at the emergency unit for one rabies shot. 3 hours!!! Did not have to see a doctor, only to get a shot. I could have driven to Pretoria to a hospital, got the shot and driven back home (close to Millpark) and it would have been quicker. Most patients complained about the lack of communication and long waiting times. Definitely will not go there again voluntarily and will advise anyone against using the poor services there.

This review is somewhat later than I intended to post it. My husband was in Milpark numerous times. He was always in section 2 or 3. He received excellent care from the nurses. They tended to his specific dietary needs. Thank you ladies. Sorry for only posting now. He passed away a few months ago, and it has been a hard road. He would thank you if he could. He passed due to cancer that kept on coming, no fault of the hospital staff.

At the emergency rooms the triage nurse mixed up my symptoms!! At the next point of contact they read out my symptom incorrectly, I was literally scared! This was made worse by the cold cubicle they put me in and the bed didn’t have sheets. Also it didn’t help that they didn’t explain anything to me and made opposite jokes - I was not in a state for jokes. Are all Netcare emergency units like this?

I contemplated writing this review but after listening to other people’s experiences I thought I should share. One word DUMP The hospital is dirty, best not mention the food. The nurses are RUDE and unfriendly and best you not say something during your stay otherwise they make it worse. My dad was treated there 20 years plus ago. It was amazing sadly it’s now a dump. And it’s a private hospital!

Sitting outside the surgery room waiting for a relative. All I can breath in are fumes & fumes of secondary smoke wafting through the halls of this hospital emanating from a drafty foot always left open for smokers to feed in those poisonous fumes directly opposite surgical ICU & not to far from neuro ICU. Totally nonsensical. Common Milpark Hospital. You can do better

Felt very disrespected by Dr Rowji, was very rude telephonically and after saying how he feels he just hanged up the call, never gave me a chance to say something after I complain about never being told my Mother was discharged, went there for dietician training and I was told you need to leave with your mother, maybe miscommunication but why the disrespect??

The service at the Radiology department was excellent. The customer service at the general reception is also good. My only complaint are the ladies at front desk in the Emergency unit very rude! Which is shocking to have a attitude like that at a job you're paid to do, it's quite disguting behavior. But other than that I've no other criticism.

I am so disappointed. My mother is in high care. Sisters do not repond to patients. In the evenings they sleep through calls and attend in the pajamas. They do net clean beds after patients through up. They are unprofessional and have no great compassion for patients. This is not waht I expect from a professional private medical service.

I appreciate the hospital and its team who gave me a second chance of life and supported me in the do far most difficult months of my life. If not this hospital team and the technology available there but another I might have not survived. Thank you for everything! I wish to get the chance to visit the hospital and its team soon.

Had the worst experience in Section 3, Milpark hospital. Night staff was really not caring, inconsiderate and extremely loud. I arrived in the ward around 19:00 and only got attended to at 21:30. I did not even had a pillow for my bed and only received after numerous requests. I just as well could have gone to a state hospital!!

My mother has been in the IC for a month. Ursela (the nurse) takes such good care of her! Big compliments to her. We live in the Netherlands so we can't visit my mother, but every day Ursela tries to Facetime with us so we can see her. We are so grateful to her! She is a really good nurse and treats the patients very well!

Admissions are a complete circus. Despite completing 100% pre-admission procedure and arriving early they are clueless upon arrival and make you wait in a long queue before then going through the entire admission process all over again. There is no apparent system or management in place. It's comlkete disorganised chaos.

From the surgeons and specialists to the nursing staff, this is the best hospital, likely in the country. This is where you want to be when dealing with a serious problem. I had the best care during my stay. A special shout out to section 11, Doctors Pahad, Bhayat and Mayet. Best.

  • Mariska Swarts

I would like to thank everyone at the Milpark Emergency department. My grandfather received exceptional care from the medical staff. They were professional, friendly and caring to his needs. I would like to especially thank Charmaine, Dr. Nay and Dr. Jacks Thank you.

  • Manuela Nogueira

Why are the staff in m ducal ICU so loud there is zero respect for the patients who are critical and trying to heal in peace an quiet. This whole hospital is like a rowdy shebeen everyone speaking louder than the next. Zero respect for the sick.

  • Dean Kelly

Absolutely the worst experience. If you are sick or injured I would recommend you save your own life and go to another hospital. Supervisor Botha needs to be sent back for urgent training as his behaviour and proffesionalism is non existent.

  • RIAAN KOEKEMOER

Service at this establishment is exceptional. Treated friendly a d professionally. The hospital is clean and tidy. The doctors are some of the best we have in the country. I would definitely recommend this hospital for a big operation.

  • Amanda Ntloko

I was at the emergency area. I was attended to immediately when I walked in. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made my visit there very easy, especially because it was my 1st time being to a hospital. Overall great experience.

  • Swazi Rebel

The service in this hospital is unbelievablely slow. We waited in the emergency ward for over 30min before getting help. Unacceptable! This is a violation of our basic human right to health! There were even needle caps on the floor.

  • kefilwe mulaudzi

Excellent service my husband got from this hospital. Dr MOOLA (the Neurologist), amazing. Thank you and your team and all the nurses in section 3,4 and the ones working in the CCU. May God continue to bless you all.

  • Marietjie van den berg

Had an amazing experience. Everyone so friendly and helpful. I have been here before and had a terrible experience with noise and unhelpful nurses. This time it was completely different. Thank you so much .

  • Jabulani Nyundu

Visiting Cardiologist Varchiat was awesome, The ICU staff is noisy no respect for patient, the gossip other patients in front of patients, the open phone speakers in front of petients

  • Livhuwani Singo

I had the worst experience, they only care about money. And the concerns of patients are never given attention. Being a black patient raising issues they protect each other. …

  • Sal Lebogo

The sisters are so friendly and helpful. I have never experienced the kindness and generosity received here. Big up to the staff in the Trauma ICU.

  • Ruby Red

From the medical ICU nurses to the specialists Dr Pahad, Dr Kana, speech therapist, all first class! Thank you for taking over!
