The hospital supervisor and hospital manageres manage to came to the party where the aircon were made active and request pest control to deal with the flies infestation. Further are there dustbins outside windows to be removed attracting flies. Hospital manager at first refused to take calls or return calls despite reporting flies in the ward and dustbins under the window attracting the flies being totally unhygienic for pations with covid-19. We require netcare directors intervention for hospital manager incompetence for non response Today ward manageres being very helpfull addressing issues of concern to have look into. Very vriendly, and communicate properly taking control to see what can be done to deal with insects prevention in rooms/wards through possible cause/net covers in front of windows while heated rooms that can be problem. Ward manageres attended to all patients wellbeing in a very professional manner The night and day lady staff improved tremendously cleaning the rooms, cleaning the beds, supplying medication, interact friendly, assist where they can since 2 days ago in general ward. General Icu were also exceptional in their services. The night staff were also helpfull and assisted in matters of health. Day sisiter Mulalo were also assisting in medical health matters. The claimed hospital manageres on duty did not even had the couridge or courtesy to see or address patients concern regarding flies and heat in wards refusing to operate aircons for patients comfort. Before Had exceptional service at general icu. Attended to all your needs and more. Rooms cooled to avoid spreading and breading of germs and bacteria. Then in general ward Orchardt transfer there were flies and blue bottle flies, mot fly, causing spreading of germs and bacteria. Male Staff try to assist but hospital manageres in the morning in general ward refuse to close windows and use aircons to prevent spreading of germs and bacteria while one is paying for services at exorbitant prices. Pathetic by general hospital manageres, on duty refused to address matter of highgene. Sister Mulalo was the only willing person to assist and address the matter of the flies. The gentleman on duty try to address the fly issue but is difficult as there is dustbins under the windows attracting flies.

Hi. My name is Katlego Mananyetsoa-Mokgele. I was admitted in Sunninghill hospital on Friday the 13th May 2022 because of complication with my pregnancy. I would like to give a big thank you to everyone below . To Dr Ndebele thank you so very much for making that decision to admit me and for all the script you always provided to me when needed, your warmth and understanding is beyond me, your human touch as your patient had been so astonishing. Words fails me to express how much it meant to me. All I can say is thank you! To Dr Majachani we come a long and I can never see myself having to go to any gynecologist . Your positive energy , your patience and the love and care you have for your patients is out of this world. Thank you so much for leaving your house on the 15th of May 2022 to come save my son's life. I will forever be indebted of you. To the Maternity nurses that worked the shifts from Friday 13th to Thursday 19th I do appreciate you all for the wonderful treatment during my stay at hospital, what a great group of wonderful ladies, your support has been great throughout my stay , thank you so much, you have all changed my narrative when it comes to nurses. I appreciate all of you :-) To Dr Pillay, your smile after you had my baby in your hands was out of this world, you gave me hope. Thank you for the positive energy and always crossing your fingers that my baby should win. From day one you have been amazing till now. Thank you for all the best decision you are making for my baby( today his turning a month) and you are still on and on making sure that all is going well. Thank you so very much ! The neonatal icu nurses, you are the best. Thank you for looking after my baby, you are really doing a great job. I sleep better at night knowing that his in good hands. Sunninghill Hospital is the best , am glad I choose to use this hospital. Keep up the good work. Thank you! Katlego & Stephen Mokgele

My experience at the hospital was exceptional, from administration the 2 gentleman assisting were kind, good spirited, and delightful. My time in the ward (Geranium) pre and post OP was excellent the nurses were very kind, helpful, considerate and understanding. They took really good care of me and had alot of patience with me through my nervousness of the OP. My Doctor and Anesthesiologist were awesome too. They were very kind, pleasant and they explained everything very well and made me feel extremely comfortable. They both came to check on me post OP and again provided encouraging words and great easy to understand advice on post OP care. I really enjoyed my stay even though it was just for a day they really cared for me exceptionally well. If you are a little extra like me to know: The bedding was clean, patient grown was clean, ward room was clean, bathroom facilities in the ward was clean, the ward had good room temperature, the ward had a fesh and clean smell, My room had a quite a pretty view of the residential area. The waiting area when getting wheeled into Theater was clean and neat, other doctors and nurses that were around were friendly and bubbly. Post OP food was served well and very much on time. When required assistance with anything. The staff acted quickly and swiftly. I would recommend Sunninghill Hospitality 100% and my experience with everyone and everything, I honestly can not fault 10/10

This hospital has no sense of urgency at all. If it wasn’t for the Drs who are good, we wouldn’t dare step foot there. We’ve experienced this slowness in casualty, geranium and daisy ward. You ring an emergency bell, it takes them average 10minutes to come to your bed, are they ambulances? That bell is there for a reason EMERGENCY . They treat and laugh at patients conditions in corridors my wife had to request for management to sort the issue and the nurses apologised. People in wards are there for a reason and need special attention, not sure why the hospital has unprofessional people and some of them can’t even use the drip machine. If you not happy being a nurse, ship out. Again, people of other colour are treated differently, don’t we pay the same? We’ve even noticed some nurses with no badges, I guess they know there’s something wrong they are doing. I’ve laid a complaint before to the hospital management, I guess it was one of those where they were forced to respond as i didn’t see any improvements. Almost forgot, also had one of the worst treatments when our almost two year old was admitted there. We ended up opting out because it wasn’t worth it. We’ve only experienced good service in the maternity ward, pharmacy and restaurant of course. 90% of the patients we’ve shared a room with had tones of complaints. Sunninghill hospital you really need to pull up your sleeves.

The doctors at this hospital are exceptional and world class. We've been coming here for over 4 years now and I often found my Doctors at work long before 8 and still doing rounds in the evening. Dr Kyriazis (gynae) and Dr Swanepoel (paed) are some of the most insightful, caring and hard working professionals I've had the pleasure of dealing with. It seems like there are two different sets of standards as the nursing and support staff leave much to be desired unfortunately. At night long past midnight they talk loudly and laugh in the passages while patients are trying to sleep, come into the rooms and leave the doors wide open for light and noise to stream in. They seem to do their job only to get the job done, no care of the patient. On our last stay the bathroom was also dirty (hair all over the walls) but the sheet on the back of the door saying it has been cleaned was diligently ticked off. It's a pity such excellent doctors are supported by such poor nursing and support staff in the wards. Lastly, the cafe downstairs' food is amazing, best carrot cake and everything else we've ordered from there has been delicious.

I had an insufferable week-long stay at Netcare Sunninghill Hospital. Staff take one's meal orders daily but never once bring what one orders. Even after complaining, they cannot seem to get it right. If you are admitted in the afternoon, do not expect a meal from the hospital on that day - especially if you have specific dietary requirements. I suspect that kitchen staff are incentivised to withhold food from the paying patients so as to be able to take "left overs" (that may have been ordered by patients but never leave the kitchen) home each day. The toilets were leaking and the whole bathroom floor was flooded for the duration of my stay (a whole week). Despite my numerous complaints, the bill charged (for inferior services offered) to my medical aid scheme was exorbitant. On weekends the hospital staff are lethargic and do not perform many of their duties, most notably administration of medicine to patients. If you have a choice, opt for home treatment instead with as short a stay as possible at hospital (preferably not this one).

I went into Sunninghill on Sunday pm with my face in a few pieces thanks to an MTB crash. I have to say I did look like a zombie which may have accelerated things a touch, but I was super impressed from the moment I stumbled in. The nurses/sisters were great even though I looked stomach turning, however particular praise must go to the great Dr Snyman, who patiently stitched me up and cleaned me up until I loosely resembled a human again. I am very grateful to have had that level of skill available to perform the task of trying to put humpty dumpty together again. I did not enjoy the local needle, and whined like a stuck pig, but that was really the only unpleasant experience in the whole visit. When I went off to the plastic surgeon the next day, he was very complimentary of Dr Snymans efforts, so I was glad to have been in such good hands. Great work all around to the whole team.

This is the 2nd time i have had to deal with this hospital and the staff in Trauma ICU. It seems that it takes too much time away of the staff personnal conversation to answer a call. My mom is currently in the unit. As i am also employeed in the Private Medical sector i am aware that staff get busy with patients. However there is always a person in the centre admin section to answer calls and queries. Is this person not capable of picking up a phone. Not only that upon visiting my mom and asking questions as to her well being - i picked up a comment made by a staff member to her colleagues who were all standing around that i was asking too many questions. As a concerned daughter i am entitled to make enquiries and to have my questions aswered. Again tonite I have tried to have the unit and after 10 attempts i still have not yet been able to get through to the ward.

Horrible experience and very poor service . My 1 year old son was only attended to after two hours of waiting ,when our doctor had instructed the nurses to administer a drip , nebulizer due to high fever and dehydration. My wife and I were meant to be there for a few hours and now she has to spend the night over because of poor service. Only around 5 hours did we actually get help and a solution after we lodged a complaint of the horrible say . Stay away from Geranium ward!! . Those nurses have zero pride in their jobs and deliver poor services. My son was so dehydrated , he wasn’t even moving because he’s body was too weak to do anything . Fortunately our Doctor came to the rescue and even stayed at the hospital late to make sure our son was finally getting the help he needed . Stop calling your organization a private hospital!!! It’s NOT

April 6 2004 - heart surgery was performed on my Son who was 4 at the time. I reside in Durban and my son needed heart surgery and my husband happen to find Dr Kingsley on the news on morning from Sunninghill Hospital. We managed to contact him with my sons problem and he said no problem he would perform the operation. My son was operated on, on the 6th of April 2004 From the time my son was admitted to his discharge we had nothing but excellent service. I was allowed to stay in hospital with my son and i had access to the kitchen at any give time. food was also provided for 1 week. From the staff to the surgeons all were just awsome! i would like to thank you all for my sons speedy recovery and successful operation. You all are a god sent. Thank you and God bless all concerned. NT

These 5 stars are well deserved. My 16 year old son was suddenly admitted to the hospital with a bleeding ulcer. He was in a bad way no bed could be found for him and finally they found ons at Sunninghill. The nursing staff was so caring and professional. Then Dr S Markovic was called in and he emediately helped my son who was severely fatigued and short of breath, Dr Groenveld from anesthesiology called me to explain the procedure to me as well as the risks I was very well informed it put this mother's heart at ease. Lucille Lewis from Dr Marcovic's office called me and kept me up to date on theatre times and procedures. What a lovely person Lucille Lewis, she treated us with such care and consideration I never met such kind people. Thank you guys you are truly my Heroes.

Sunninghill Hospital is known for their professional service. I have visited there numerous times before and always received excellent service. My recent experience was extremely disappointing. The doctor on duty at the emergency ward could not treat my 4 year old boy. After an exorbitant bill, xray, blood test and covid test I didn't receive a diagnosis at the end of the consultation. She Google mthe medication my son was on and used her phone torch to examine his throat. 2 days later after his symptoms persisted I visited an other Gp and he was treated with the right meds and diagnosis. It is alarming if a doctor in the emergency ward after several test could not diagnose a simple sinus infection Logged complaint received an acknowledgement and no further response

I've been to the day ward and also in High Care. The day ward isn't too bad but the food in High Care isn't the same quality as some other Netcare hospitals I've been to such as the Clinton Clinic. The care I received was great though and the staff are very professional and friendly. The anaesthetists are pretty good and the surgeons are also professional. It's just unfortunate that when a surgeon makes a mistake that you and your medical aid have to pay for their mistakes, and that they don't have to pay for it themselves. I ended up in High Care because of complications that arose from a colonoscopy and was hemorrhaging as a result, and don't think its fair that I should have had to pay the cost for it.

Had a IOD at work where I cut my palm open with glass, I was taken to Sunninghill hospital for treatment. Took them two hours to open a file. I then waited another hour to have my had stitched. I complained about the pain a doctor came in and said why am I dying just from a laseration. They completed my workman's form wrong. I could not get my script at the pharmacy cause the system said my case was closed. I went up and down between. The pharmacy and the emergency reception to get my script sorted. I am still waiting for the doctor to correct my workman's form to state I injured my left palm and not my right palm as stated on the forms. Not very professional at all at Sunninghill hospitaal.

I am very concerned about Muslims thinking that their ICSA approved food is Halaal or expired. My Mum received expired Halaal food. Then they tried to compensate by serving fish from the non Halaal kitchen. The pasta served my mum was from their freezer... left to thaw... but even the cheese topping hadn't melted. Clear indication that no heat was applied. The excuse of external caterers and frozen food was acceptable during covid. Covid is over... our Medical Aid is paying a premium, stop hiding behind excuses to bring your costs down. We were informed that food for the Kosher eaters is supplied fresh everyday. Becareful of weekends especially where there is zero accountability.

  • Kerry Craukamp

The nurses and staff at Sunning hill are amazing it’s just so disappointing that the visiting hours are bearly next to nothing.. 3 to 4 and that’s it how are working family members able to come round or a parent that is with a sick child able to get a little it of support. Specially for a child who is used to seeing both parents before bedtime or a parent that just needs 5 minutes to walk away and have someone take the reigns. My husband can’t drive from 30km away to stay for 5 mins when the hospital charges parking and petrol is so expensive. It’s ridiculous. Being in hospital for days on end is difficult as it is never mind lonely and scary

  • Gracechiedza Shonhiwa

I was very disappointed with service i received from the casualty in January this year especially from Dr Snyman. What a terrible experience. A Doctor, Nurse & Hospital can make and break your life in a matter on seconds. I was treated so unkindly and this really painted a bad name for the hospital for me. I'm so scared to even go there now because the experience i received left me so hurt to the core. I'm still recovering from that trauma. Its so sad how i was treated. Please don't explain things that don't make sense to me because you treated me so sad. I had so much faith in the hospital but my recommendations have gone to zero from 10.

  • Linda King

My daughter, 13 years of age, needed knee surgery. This was her first surgery and/or stay in hospital. The entire staff body from the GM, Pieter Louw, to nurses, doctors and administrators were compassionate, empathic, understanding and most of all knowledgeable and kind. The Doctors were extraordinary in their care and manner. This had the potential to be a negative event that could have been traumatic especially in the COVID environment we are in. Instead it became a very positive, caring, learning and healing journey. THANK YOU to all. Would highly recommend this hospital for full care and treatment. Much gratitude Linda King

  • T Parter

Nothing wrong with the medical care. And the waiting times are acceptable. However, the admin overhead , the number of papers to be signed, and then again the same thing on an electronic signature pad, is shocking for a private hospital. Even for a repeat visit, a new file has to be opened (according to the admission clerk), requiring 2 contracts, 6 signature, 4 times stating your ID number. The degree of inefficiency is beyond belief. One should think that at least the consent forms, and the POPI data protection release forms from the initial visit for a given ailment can still be used for the check-up at the same facility.

  • Tanya Kleynhans

My husband had a bad fall off a horse. Sunninghill Emergancy were super efficient. The doctor on duty controlled his bleeding and pain and called all the necessary specialists. He was admitted to Trauma ICU. The week her spent there he was incredibly well looked after. The only complaint being staff talking loudly when patients trying to sleep. His surgery was professionally and sympathetically handled along with all other tests. The hospital restaurant serves lovely meals for family and friends and made the long days a lot more pleasant. Cannot thank the staff enough for making a tough time as friendly as possible.

  • Chante Britz

Absolutely the worst service ever. We went there yesterday afternoon to book my Grandfather in, they didn't know about anything, we left and tried phoning eventually got through and a lady assisted and said everything is on order we can bring him, this was at 21:00, we said no we will bring him in the morning. Before we left we phoned to make sure that everything was in order so that we can take him to get booked in, but to the surprise once again no one could help, everyone keeps on transferring us to the next person, this is by far the worst service I ever experienced.

  • Y Lin

Terrible private hospital, the boy was just collywobbles. After the medication he went to the toilet, then he is ok, but they still want him to do the X-ray, blood test and the second day they want him to go back and did another scan for R 1200, and the kid was not uncomfortable at all. He was running and playing. We don’t want to be difficult, but they treat you as you stupid. And the people in reception are unfriendly, specially the One work during the day. I spend R 5000 for a extremely small problem with such a bad service......never ever again to this hospital.

  • Tanielle Flint

I went in for a procedure yesterday. The nurses in the Orchid ward were very good, they assisted me when necessary and showed compassion and empathy. The anaesthetist and the doctor were both very good and made me feel calm and relaxed during the procedure. The people at reception were also helpful and polite. I was pleasantly surprised by this hospital. The only thing I don’t like is that you have to pay for parking. I don’t think it’s right! It also makes driving out of the hospital chaos. Please think about removing your ticket system. It really is not right!

  • Linda Kasonga

I would like to thank the emergency staff and Dr. Bhoola at neurology for basically saving my mother's life he continues to consult every now and then with her progress post her brain aneurysm recovery. We received a call on a Friday afternoon in 2016 after she had fainted at work. Her colleagues rushed her to emergency and she was attended to quickly and efficiently. We need more Doctors and nurses like this. After reading through the comments I realised I never took the time to post the positive experience we had as a family. We are eternally grateful.

  • itsYaya 101

I had a c-section here 6 weeks ago and I honestly have nothing bad to say, the facilities are great, the nurses are all so friendly and helpful, my baby and I were well taken care of. Thank you to all the staff, you've made my birth experience as a first time mom memorable in the best way possible. I then returned a week after my birth as my baby was sick and needed to be admitted, the pediatric nurses were amazing and helped ease my stress, my baby could not have been in better hands. I will definitely be returning when I decide to have my 2nd baby.

  • D J

What a brilliant hospital experience. I walked into emergency pretty much 9/10 pain. Within a few hours I was sorted for a bed and treatment for a serious condition that had started out of nowhere. 24 hours later, complete turn around. The staff of geranium ward are extraordinarily talented. Caring. And you feel like they genuinely care. Hard to find nowadays. Dr Soma was great. I am so happy and grateful I decided to go to Sunninghill Hospital! Even more grateful we still have pockets of excellence like this in South Africa. World class.

  • Suzette Herbst

Such pathetic service. Reception makes you feel as if they doing you a favour. As do the doctors! They hardly never come to see the patient. If you ask the nurses when the dr will be visiting they just reply "He is on the way".Regrettably only then read the reviews and saw how consistently poor the level of service is. Only when threatening to complain were we fast tracked and helped immediately. Will NEVER EVER make use of this hospital again. I just hope and pray my granddaughter will be ok after this ordeal!!!! Not even 1 ⭐ worth!!!!!!

  • Eldette Davie

What a shabby admission. All done online, we waited. We sat down with Moses - not one word of hello. Got up, walked away, came back a few minutes later. Medical card and ID, first words out of his mouth. Staring at the screen, no other words, we wait. Confirm cell, next words he spoke. Clearly the online admission was WORTHLESS! Your staff need client engagement training. We coming for serious operation. Moses says isn't working properly, his excuse for his monosyllabic questioning. Maybe fix your system please!

  • Nokuthula Angel

I'm just out of words..I'm really greatful to the CTICU team and the efforts they made to make sure my 2months old baby gets better. Thank you doctor Senyangwe, Dr Lazarus and all the surgeons that made sure his recovery is smooth..mostly thank you to all the nurses that took care of him. If I was rich I was gonna buy each and everyone in that ward flowers and chocolates just to say thank you fr such commitment to ur work...thank you Unkulunkulu anibusise...Niqhubeke nomsebenzi wenu omuhle ningapheli amandla...

  • Deri corpa

Terrible attitude of doctors and nurses. My dad almost died in this hospital. They sent him away without finding anything wrong with him and refused to admit him again because they said nothing was wrong. He was then admitted to sandton where doctors couldn't believe his state and found various problems that needed to be solved right away. If it wasnt for sandton I'm sure he would of died so I'm just warning you all, if you have a sick loved one that is receiving the same treatment rather try another hospital.

  • Pertunia Nhleko

I was rushed into the emergency room in the early hours of the morning, my chest was in extreme pain and I was having difficulties breathing. The nurses couldn’t care less, I was lying on the floor struggling to breathe while they stood there and watched. I’m anemic so my blood pressure was also very low. Eventually we left and went to another hospital where they said if I hadn’t come in when I did my condition would have been worse. If you still want to live, NEVER GO TO NETCARE SUNNINGHILL!!

  • Saajida Ebrahim

Good day I just have to say that the all the staff that treated me from the doctors to the porters were friendly n polite. My nurses at Daisy ward n theatre displayed compassion n were efficient. Although being in a hospital can be daunting they all made my stay pleasant n put me at ease. Thank you Dr I Moola, Dr I Shaikh n to u all. I salute you. Being in a healthcare profession demands patience n compassion n many other nurses n doctors can learn that from u guys. God bless you all.

  • Julia Modise

I only come to this hospital because Dr Majachani operates from here and he is a very good doctor. I was admitted early morning needing an urgent MRI, it’s now 14:35 and I haven’t had the MRI! Nobody can tell me what’s happening. The hospital is old and needs a revamp, using communal toilets and showers as though in a school hostel is unacceptable. Quite frankly I hate being here and wish I could go somewhere else where an emergency means you will be attended to immediately!

  • Sifiso Nkosi

My niece had an accident week ago, fractured hand, facial deformation, broken teeth... They've already diney2 surgeries on her without consulting the family or even attempting to convene an uodate meeting. When asked about this, they're arrogant... Defensive, know it all bunch whi treat patients like they're fixing cars. I gave them 2 stars ✨ because they're better than Alberton Netcare which is a death trap. Sad, how netcare has become a profiteeering institution.

  • Lethabo Maake

Had an emergency and my baby was rushed to Netcare Sunninghill Hospital. I stopped the ambulance on the road and Sherry (sp) who is a paramedic was kind enough to stop and attend to my baby. She was with us every step of the way, from the minute we got into the ambulance to the ER, until baby was transferred to the paediatrics ward. Dr Keith Halles and Sister Ndlovu were kind enough to afford us exceptional services. Really grateful for such professionals.

  • Naledi Sekgobela

I would give a zero star, this is the most unprofessional private hospital ever! I called the pharmacy to find out if they have a certain medication as it’s always out of stock and the phone was never answered! I called the hospital with hope of getting transferred to the pharmacy still the phone was never answered! How come?? How can a whole hospital not answer the phone ? I just need medication for my epileptic daughter, is that too much to ask ???

  • Masanabo Bongz

Sunninghill pre admission has got to be the worst ever thing created. You are patients do pre admission and when we call for assistance you out the phone down! This is disgusting. Your information is not even straight foward. When we call for help there is no answer you also don’t call patients back! This consumes the morning and midday time just sitting and trying to do everything! This is pathetic and unecessa Stress! Unbelievable lack of empathy!

  • Tulisa Bunu

The worst service ever arrived at 15:30 only left the hospital at 22:00 the stuff was very slow and unfriendly will never recommend that hospital to anyone they treated me very bad ,dont know if because I was wearing pick n pay uniform but in my store we treat everyone the same whether you are a contractor, cleaner or CEO we do not descriminate according to where you work or how yoh look , felt very very bad no human being must ho through that

  • Tsholo Tsotetsi

Went in with to Sunninghill Hospital with severe pain on my shoulder. ER had a caring and excellent Dr Molokwane on duty. After an examination and X-ray. He fully explained the outcome including bloods tests taken earlier during the day. He prescribed treatment that worked wonders. Thank you Dr Molokwane. Sunninghill has a gem in ER. As a matter of concern, ER please address the high noise levels with the nursing staff on duty.

  • Bhekubukhosi Khumalo

Came into the hospital very ill yet I did not worry because of how professional and friendly the doctor's and nurses were once I was admitted. I've been here quite a few times for various accidents and I'm well aware of how much care they take for the patients well-being and privacy. The food was nice whilst I was admitted for a few days and the hospital beds were warm. You're given a lot of space to rest and finally heal.

  • Mazondi-Zanele Shongwe

My grandmother went into sunghill hospital last year and recieved bad treatment from the nurses to the point that she came back with bed sores. The nurses in ICU denied everything and nothing was done about it all the blame was put on us. Now again they are giving us trouble refilling my grandmothers prescription. I would not recommend going here as the standard of the nurses has gone down dismissaly.

  • Megan Denton

If you have an emergency, please look elsewhere (for your own health) Would give 0 stars to the ER. Waited 3.5 hours for my 93 year old grandmother to get x-rays, doctor was surprised when nurses hadn't yet brought pain killers (they never arrived). Shocking service, had to chase down people to help. Porters never arrived, admin took ages. Seems couldn't care less whether my gran lived or died.

  • Desiree Moodley

Night nurses were good, so were most of the day nurses however the nurse allocated to my baby had absolute nonsense advice and made my experience quite awful. Furthermore incorrect billing and unnecessary hoops to jump through for a refund. Since when do you send a stamped credit card statement for a refund. Facilities also need an upgrade considering the rate charged for a private room.

  • Marnus Matthysen

The service at this place is just pathetic! Everything that should take 5mins to complete, takes upwards of an hour. Not to even talk about the on prem pharmacy. The employees can see that its busy but only 2 people are working at a time. The only proper service in this whole place is the restaurant. Pathetic, I we weren’t forced to use this hospital I would have avoided it at all cost.

  • James Wilsnach

Such pathetic service. Reception makes you feel as if they doing you a favour. Enough personnel to process admissions in a more timely manner, but that's not the case. Regrettably only then read the reviews and saw how consistently poor the level of service is. Only when threatening to complain were we fast tracked and helped immediately. Will NEVER EVER make use of this hospital again.

  • Dane Govender

Checked in my 10month daughter for CT scan. People at check in were very helpful and polite got to the room and find blood on the bed rails. I ask myself how hygienic is this paediatric ward. Child will go in for check up and come out with all types of illnesses. I have exprianced this once before at another hospital. Thought this being sunning hill would be different. Guess was wrong.

  • tariro makiwa

When l arrived to check in for elective c section the reception area in maternity was packed, which l appreciated with time its a busy hospital. We eventually all got rooms after a while but overally my stay the food the staff they were all great. I also realised that as clients our expectations can be also extreme as we wait thank you for the good work personallt am grateful

  • Sibo Mchunu

I pray I never have to come to the general ward here ever again. The service is the worst and I’ve been here more than once. I have to ask for everything more than twice - water, help, information etc. The nurses just do the bare minimum. I honestly hated my time there nevermind that you are generally at a hospital because you are unwell, the service was also just the worst.

I came into this hospital with a broken ankle and was told I should get a surgery that would have cost over R150 000. after consulting with multiple other surgeons it came to the conclusion I never need this insanely expensive operation. After 6 months my ankle is perfectly fine. Always ask for a second opinion from another doctor, you are just a pay check to these people.

Dr Kukulela saved my life. the Neorologist and the cardiologist said nothing was wrong with me. Dr Kukulela reviewed my case and assisted me. he explained every thing, which the previous drs did not bother to. gave me hope when and assurance. 6 moths later, im back to good health and my problems are sorted. I pray that he will be a blessing to others as he was to me.

It's been the hospital of choice in the area before the Netcare Waterfall hospital opened up. Although it's a bit dated, it's still well run and have good compassionate staff. Lots of specialists have their rooms at the hospital as well and a host of medical related services and professionals based around the hospital in the same vicinity such as Chiropractors, etc.

  • Tracey Stockton

Shocking facility, rude staff in ER and Dr Kukulela is terrible, feel sorry for the nursing staff in ICU who work so hard, and are so caring. But this Dr and the rest of them should get out of practicing all together. Call this a private hospital? No, only interested in lining their pockets... Should only treat ANC members... They are on the same gravy train!

Thank you to the nurses, catering and cleaning staff in Aloe Ward.A hospital stay is never a pleasant experience, but you ladies made it so much easier with your friendly faces and sense of humour, and most of all your compassion to and for the patients. Keep up the fantastic and important work you all do. Claudia Thackeray (8D 11/4/23-16/4/23)

Doctor suites are generally very good but I suppose you get what you pay for. Maternity ward is poorly managed with very rude staff. My wife had 2 nights there without food and nobody coming through to assist when she pressed the buzzer. I had to drive to the hospital at 2am to take food through and to request someone gets pain meds to my wife

  • Ayanda Bekwa

Having my first baby and c section, the staff here has been super amazing, so patient and incredibly caring. The nurses at labor and maternity ward are very pleasant and absolutely wonderful. Dr Majachani has been extremely supportive and great as well. I really applaud everyone for their great service, including Nokthula from the kitchen.

  • Rahul Govender

I came here with my girlfriend because she had hurt her finger badly. We don't have medical aid and rushed her here to the emergency unit. They not only made me pay R3000 but I am still waiting for over 2 hours for her to be seen. Don't you think R3000 cash deserves better service? This is robbery and pathetic service for people in pain!

  • Amika Lingenfelder

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and well ventilated hospital. Clear signage and easy to navigate. Secure and safe parking. There is even a little cart that takes you to your car if you have parked too far. As you drive in through the paid parking booms, you can drop off your patients or those in need right by the main door easily.

  • Palesa Kwamie Nyirongo

The service I’ve received from every department I went to is perfect. Everyone is so friendly. Netcafe has the best food I must say. A big shoutout to the Maternity ward. The most helpful and friendly team. Thank you Netcare Sunninghill. Also I had the best Obstetrician & Gynaecologist Dr M Milos. Would highly recommend him :)

  • Valery Motlana

I remember going into shock after giving birth then I pushed the button to call for help. When the nurse on duty came, she went to check the white lady I was sharing the room with and I left without checking me. I was loosing consciousness but luckily my midwife sister Raphunga walked in moments from then and saved my life.

  • Lauren Konstantinou

A recent surgery in the Geranium ward. Although the nurses were friendly, they were so very slow. My anesthetist shouted at them a couple times because they made us all incredibly late. They also ignored me when I pressed the emergency nurse button and didn’t come help at all. Such a pity because the surgeons are so great.

  • Hilda Matjila

The service at the pharmacy is horrifyingly SLOW!!. The counters are NEVER fully occupied! We had our sick baby screaming for over 30min while we waited in an excruciatingly slow moving queue. Worst part is when you get to the front they don’t have all the medication!! All that time wasted! …

  • Colleen Mclintock

Took my daughter to have her wisdoms out, Dr Daya and Dr Nilesh were great, the nursing staff in the Geranium ward were really kind, Staff Nurse Nancy and Janet were amazing! Norah from the pharmacy was also very helpful and kind. Working in these trying times can't be easy for the staff, well done and thank you !

  • Richard Seegers

Genuinely the worst care I have seen. Even the doctor said we should complain far and wide. Catheter done incorrectly 3 times. Medicine in drip went into muscles and not vein. Pushing the button for help was not an option as it did not work or they ignored. What happened to what was a well respected hospital?

  • Mandi

So have been trying to get hold of the hospital and so far I've been on the phone with it just ringing for 8:15. Keeps being picked up and then just put onto ringing. Most interesting service and my daughter is coming their for an operation. Am super scared if they cant even answer their phone after 9minutes.

  • Mel Watson

The reception/admin staff really need training. The admission was the most frustrating experience I have had in along time, despite doing it online. Secondly, what type of hospital has NO soap in the public bathrooms? Completely empty soap dispensers (both of them) I am absolutely mortified.

  • Cindy Kistoo

Both my kids had their wisdom teeth removed at Netcare Sunninghill Hospital and they were very well taken care of by the nurses and doctors.. Nurses are very helpful and friendly. The doctors made a point of checking on my kids before and after their procedure. Thank you to everyone …

  • Fifi Mosiane

My son was admitted for two weeks in CTICU..I would like to thank all the doctor's and nurses that works hard each and every day to care for our children. Your support, care and empathy is appreciated. GOD bless you and give you strength to continues saving lives. Thanks a million

  • Rokhsana Saldulker

My 85yr old mum was admitted, from emergency to the Aloe ward, a big shout out to the doctors and nursing staff that took such good care of her, even though she was a bit difficult, Hats off to you for your patience, love and care. Keep up the good work, Once again thank you.

  • Tshepo Makgato

Shocking experience ever! I think in my view worse than a Public Hospital. Waited 4 hours to see a doctor, supposedly under staffed. Casualty room cold as a fridge, the place needs management intervention... I don’t think they aware of how horrible the service.

  • Sipho Sbipjp

In trauma unit, you will wait forever to be attended to because nurses are socializing rather than attending to patients. Then even when you've paid your bill the third party debt collector, Felicity Swartz will spam your emails and harass you telephonically.

  • Karen Victor

I arrived with a very sick child and left after several days with a healthy child. The doctors are specialists in their fields and the nursing staff are professional and caring. There are things that could be better, but that would be a bonus. I was happy.

  • Basil Steyn

Worst experience ever, went to visit Dr Leroux for blood clots. Was sent out for 5 different tests whose results took Dr Leroux 6 days to get back to me and advise on, that was after calling the Drs office thrice. What kind of service is this really.

  • ledile lydia

Yoh a friend of mine was admitted and he is badly injured now he calls me crying that he is in pain and no one seems to care. The last time a nurse attended to him was more than 4 hours ago. I wish visitors were allowed so I can take of him myself.

  • sahil saggi

Never go to this hospital in emergency. If a person is dying, there staff will make sure he/she dies quickly. They have got the most illiterate and slow staff on this earth who have no idea what they are doing. Shame on the name of hospital.

  • Faizel Ally

My wife was in for a back opp, must say you ppl set such a high standard and must complement the staff in the CCU ward and Daisy ward. Thanks to every staff the wife (Narrima Baderoen)were in contact with, she was looked after very well. Also

  • Simone Peek

Worst hospital ever! If you have an emergency, please go to Fourways Life or Olivedale Hospital. I had a car accident this morning and after waiting 1hr, I was still not seen to. The staff at the emergency rooms are rude and very unhelpful.

  • Riri Moo

The most horrible hospital I have ever encountered. took my sick baby there and we waited forever to get help and till today they never got back to us on the lab test results. We just went elsewhere. One time I was there to try get the lab

  • Lezanne Oberholzer

Most incompetent nurses I have ever come across. They write patient blood pressure measurements on tissues, you ask them for something and they just dissappear and never come back to help. The nurses yell at each other in the middle of the

  • Rozanne Pelser

Kind staff, clean and organized. Dr Lewis Levien is one of the most highly skilled surgeons in the country and just incredible. Parking is a bit difficult but there are often golf carts to assist. Great hospital they took great care of me.

  • Diana Ewert

I was taken to Sunninghill Hospital A&E on Thursday 17 September 2015 with severe headaches and nausea. I was the only patient in the A&E and while the medical staff that helped me were very kind the noise in that area was horrific! When

Would rate as zero if i could. Service is terrible from admissions to ward to radiology. Left with no feedback or whats happening. Had to be admitted as emergency but had to wait until the admissions could see me...this took 1 hour. Is

My gran recently spent some time there and the service was SHOCKING! Firstly her drip stand had dried blood on it. The first day she didn’t receive her food. The next day we found an open/used needle around her bed (that i disposed of

  • Chantelle Pieterse

The peadiatrics ward is horrendous. And when you want to speak to the night manager Belinda Damonse she tries to be as rude as possible. You can most definitely not feel comfortable leaving your child there. Excellent doctors though.

  • Roxanne Byrne

While the staff are amazing, they have to be to make up for the lack of processes and lengthy waiting periods in every department. From reception to admission to the pharmacy...no consideration for the time you force people to wait.

  • GERALD PETER

Hats off to the person responsible for staff training. Pre booked my wife in on Thursday. Gloria was amazing. Charming , polite and efficient. Handled everything with our medical aid Discovery. What a credit she is to your hospital.

  • Prema Shakti dd

I was there for a day procedure yesterday and must commend every single member of the Daisy ward. They took such excellent care of the patients and were happy to assist in any way needed. Their selfless service is much appreciated.

  • Michelle

State of the art hospital private hospital. You will need to be on a a medical aid. Or have allot of cash. Arrogant rude emergency section staff. Waited 3 hours for doctor to arrive. I suppose nurses are to tired to be helpful.

  • sonja kleinhans

Sunninghill hospital is a reputable hospital in the Northern suburbs. You can find great doctors, specialists and medical care. The hospital is clean and the staff, nurses and helpers are friendly helpful and reliable.

  • Radhika Singh

Sunninghill hospital is suppose to be "A"rate medical care centre. Unfortunately, the condition of that hospital is really disgusting. Staff really don't care about the patients. Management only walks around with a

  • Shazia Osman

You think this is a private hospital.... yet just to do a CT scan n get results takes them a whole day.... you better off going to Jhb Gen then trying to get this hospital to help you. The staff just don't care!

  • Samantha Jenkins

The staff were very friendly and helpful, they saw me in a timely manner and made sure I was very comfortable. My partner got nauseous while watching the treatment and they attended to him instantly and kindly.

  • bokang dunn

Extremely good Doctors, as much as I do know nurses who are good and caring, there were nurses who where extremely bad, bitter, devilish..., the kind that make jokes about patients and laugh at such.

  • Berna Hattingh

I was in Sunninghill for 20 days. The staff and Management were absolutely fantastic. Thank you to the Doctors who ensured im comfortable and who explained everything to me in detail..I salute you

  • Smart Curtis

Don't bring your loved ones to this Trauma/ER unit. They won't be seen until hours later. They demand cash upfront which even when paid does not guarantee that the patient will be helped.

  • Shawn Kegel

Chaos at the parking areas at the hospital at the moment, Covid seems to be taking its toll-directed here, there and everywhere with loads of random parking available, just badly managed

  • Venessa

Terrible service from the nurses, no one attends to between the time you are called in and the time you see the doctor. I would not recommend this hospital if you need urgent assistance

  • Mirko Amade Issufo

This hospital and their staff (All nurses, doctors - I.Moola and Monzon) literally saved my wife's live . I'll be eternally grateful for the service provided . Much love and care MAI

  • Bronwyn Paxman

We spent 3 nights in peads with my daughter. The night nurses were awesome! The day nurses can learn a thing or two from them. The new renovations in the peads ward is stunning!

  • Munye Mazolo

Do not dare go there unless you have a death wish. These people treat you like you're nothing. I was made to sit for and hour and I had chest pains. Go At your own risk!!

  • Mutanda

Swift help. Wonderful staff. Beautiful experience. Unlike Waterfall Hospital where we left because we couldn't get help for 3hrs! Well done Team Sunninghill Hospital ✨️
