It's a place for mostly Goldfish and some discus and cichlids to be honest There isn't many other tropical varieties nor impressive quality of other fish They do have some marine stock too but what disappointed me the most is most of the tanks are dirty and some fish were sick too Makes it harder for me to decide either I wanna buy fish from there or not I did buy some comets and fantails and they are doing ok so far but 1 of em is acting a bit funny and i need to keep an eye on him The conditions of the shop isn't that great either and I'm not sure if it's because of the currant Pandemic or it's just the careless owner ! I would probably go there in future but not sure just yet If you do wanna have browse around go ahead and u might buy some nice Goldfish at a very cheap price

Not even 1 star but can’t select Bought products from them on eBay - after the date for Deilivery contacted them asking where product was , in message stated they had not even sent it even though they gave tracking number and updated status . Now my customers have to wait longer then Later I get email stating it was deilivered however I have not received goods and photo aust post gave them was not of my house or my street . Was told it would be coming so took the day off , to be home all day and nothing . This buissness does not care once they have your money .im now out of pocket by much more than what the products cost all because of the incompetence of someone not actually sending something in the post originally.

The owners are dedicated professional fish keepers who work around the clock to maintain a massive amount of stock that is constantly moving and changing. They have everything you could need for fishkeeping at every scale, large or small. I go here often to shop and have seen wildlife workers come through to say hello to the owner for a friendly chat. There's nothing inhumane about this store, fishkeeping is a difficult trade that combines water, electrical and organic processes. I've been to storefront aquarium shops around the world and this is about as professional an operation as you will ever find. I like that it's family-owned too, it's a great feature of Abbotsford.

Literally a huge open warehouse with a lot of variety of products and livestock in both fresh & salt water. They seem to also stock some of the rarer products that most aquariums don't seem to stock, however, as for prices I reckon it's average as I can get some identical products cheaper at other aquariums. As they're an open warehouse, some products on display do seem a bit dusty and a little unorganized but that isn't really a problem. For customers who use prefers to use EFTPOS, do note that they have a minimum spend of $15 for such transactions.

New Life Aquarium & Pets Abbortsford service is excellent and way beyond my expectation. The owner is knowledgeable and a trust worthy man. I normally don't have the good habit writing review online but I would feel bad if not doing so for the service this aquarium has on offer. If you're after Discus or Goldfish, this aquarium is probably one of the biggest in stock, a must to see for yourself the range, quality and value. Check out other shop too of course to see in perspective and for comparison.

Absolutely amazing variety, quality and customer service. They go above and beyond to help; shout out to Geoffrey and team. The age old adage ‘you get what you pay for’ most definitely comes into play here. Healthy, well cared for fish are their top priority - don’t bother with going to cheaper places, New Life Aquarium & Pet is your one stop shop. Also, highly recommend the AZOO range, best I’ve used! 100% recommend, the only place I now buy my fish from - no disease and beautiful colours.

I have been going to this store for many years. I have found they have great service after been going for a while. The owner has always given good advice and helped me repair a number of components, UV, filters and disease..... Just today, I needed to replace a impeller for the canister filter. He did not have one for my filter, then opened up new filter boxes to find one that would work from a different brand. You don't normally get this type of help. Very happy with this local supplier.

I bought a pair of red caps this Friday and they lean on the bottom on my tank all the time. Yesterday I went to buy two Orandas and I asked the shop owner what would be the reason for that. After asking some questions he said that my water could contain acid. But I add water conditioners before adding the fish. So he gave me some neutralizer for free. Now my fishes are happy and swim all around. So please check the water before adding fish. Thank you New life aquarium.

Lovely new shop - some good freshwater, tropical and marine fish... sadly most aquariums need to sell dog food and cat products to stay afloat, but still a good little shop. The owner is always very friendly, the occasional floating fish but mostly good imported stock. A more commercial approach than the other local aquariums, worth checking out Subscape down the road for more specialised/rare stock & advice.

Billy and Geoff are the most genuine and helpful people in the industry! The team at New Life are very skilled & knowledgeable, we have always purchased our tanks, equipment and various fish from these champions because it gives us a piece of mind knowing we are looked after by these awesome fellas! As a returning customer of over 5 years, the owners have always been friendly and helpful with a lot of knowledge and experience in the trade to share and advice. Always have a wide range of live stock and products and if there were specifics that I was after, they were always happy to assist in either finding an alternative or make an order for me.

Completely horrible and heartbreaking! I saw multiple tanks with fishes that are in cramped environments and some of them were dead. The betta fish were in little jars where they couldn’t swim around or even breathe. Majority of the tanks were dirty and didn’t have proper filtration and heating. This store has no regards for the welfare of animals.

Ebay prices from a bricks and mortar shop. Great price and service on all your pet needs. These guys supply to most pets stores so you're getting real value for money. If they don't have it chances are nobody in melbourne has it. Only thing stopping them for a 5 star rating is not enough scaped tanks. By they are a wholeseller so they get a pass.

Best Aquarium I've been to in this country for fancy goldfish! William is always super friendly has great passion & knowledge. Prices are very competitive & staff are always more than happy to help & special order. For fancy goldfish, equipment & food can't be beaten. I've never lost a fish from there, healthy stock and great variety.

If you can get past the “warehouse” feel of the shop, you soon realise how good it actually is. Great marines and goldfish. Top end equipment, prices seem more than fair. They even have a stack of specialised plumbing bits in stock that I normally have to order from US. Never realised this was here. Will be going back again.

This is one of the Best aquariums in Australia, the quality of stock for salt and freshwater fish is terrific, let alone for amount of products they have for your aquariums needs. They go the extra mile for a customers to find that fish you need or if you have issue with your tank to assist you, the only place to shop.

Whilst the store has great selection of products its filthy and fish are crammed into dirty tanks. A lot of the fish look sick or are floating at the top of the tank. They were selling tiny, inhumane tanks to customers and allowing them to put too many fish in them. Do not recommend buying fish from this place.

For the life of me I cannot understand the 4 star + reviews. Filthy shop with filthy tanks and many fish do not look good. I went with the intention of buying quite a few fish and ended up walking out disgusted. Lack of choice in this city and customer complacency keeps this kind of business operating.

Some of the best fish imports youll find in melbourne. The discus are all stunning at incredible prices. Great variety of some of the rarer fish, with constant shipments you never know what will come in with the huge order of discus. huge range of equipment and foods, all great prices! Staff are great!

The quality of the fish aren't as good as you might think. Most of the tanks you'll see have atleast a dead fish. The fish are in poor health and the majority are riddled with disease. Not worth the investment to buy fish and medication. But customer service is excellent and plants are of good quality.

cool place :) loads of fish, shrimp, plants, good prices and the owner is very knowledgeable. i set up a planted tank with fish for $80 substrate is $ per scoop which is great love the marine and tropical rooms too i went pre-restock and he had good price male bettas. after restock, most are ~$50

They change their prices out on a whim. Their price last week isn't the same when you come back after a week. They also don't write the price on their tanks which I think enables them to just change price depending on what they want or feel. I'm sorry but this is my actual experience with them.

We needed to transport some shrimp overnight. The owner went above and beyond on a low profit sale with good humour and professionalism. Highly recommended for service and price. My 13 y/o daughter is a keen aquascaper and this shop is a great example of the community. Thanks!

Top rating customer service. Went in today with a broken 90cm led light, less than a minute later the owner came back with a replacement, as they didn't have the part to repair it. That's what I call top notch customer service!!! A store I'll definitely be buying from again.

Disgusting and heartbreaking. This place has no regard for the welfare of animals. Multiple tanks with dead fish, bettas in jars where they cannot turn around or breathe. may as well blow up a balloon to keep a pet mouse in it. Don’t spend a single dollar at this place

Great selection of discus and bought a new canister filter while I was there today. It doesn't look like much of a pet store when you walk in but it had a massive range of products and fish and the owner was saying that they export them interstate.

I’ve been coming here for a couple of years. It’s a really understated fish shop. High quality fish, always healthy, and the owner is very knowledgeable. The Price of the more exotic fish is better than other places. But the quality is high.

Something wrong with my water filter and the boss tried to fix it. Unfortunately we just couldn't find the problem. So the boss decided to give me a new filter saving me $135. Best service and very helpful ever. *happy face*

The apistogramma I bought for 65$ died 2 days after I got it. I guess all the dead fish in there tanks should have been a warming, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Never again.

Dirty tanks that are massively overcrowded with fish. Having a look around the store, basically every tank had a dead fish in it, and when brought up to staff they said it was "fine"

They are dishonest, to sell more expensive fish. Specifically they lied about the type of Betta fish they were selling, claiming it was a rare type and it was not.
