A lovely park with playground, views, picnic-friendly lawns and walking options. The large children’s playground was (unsurprisingly) very busy when we visited around lunchtime on a long weekend Sunday afternoon. Car parking was busy as the local cricket & footy club was also using the car park space. If I return I would try to go earlier in the day, or later for some sunset views, and perhaps not on a weekend immediately adjacent to a public holiday. I was particularly impressed with the spectacular views across to the Yarra Ranges, including Silvan Reservoir, seen through the autumnal colours of the established trees. The walk was on a hillside but easy enough in parts. I saw people on mobility scooters able to access parts of the walk. Further down, it becomes quite steep. It is mostly lawns which are, I assume, a legacy of the golf course that used to be there. There are some covered areas with picnic tables, and when we visited plenty of people brought picnics. Lots of people walking their dogs, too. There are some toilets but admittedly they aren’t the nicest on the planet and they don’t appear to have seat covers nor hand wash - which is fine if you can stand up to use them (and perhaps bring your own hand sanitiser). Part of the park is next to the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden (Rhododendron Gardens). If you are after intentional floral displays, diverse views and well maintained toilets, I’d personally suggest going to the Botanic Garden instead. But if you want a big playground with room for the kids and/or dog to play, run around and make noise, with some expansive views towards the Victorian High Country, then the Olinda Precinct is an excellent option.
Play area There has been quite a lot of money spent on this area a great adventure areas and huge sand pit are, definitely plenty to keep the kids occupied.there are covered picnic area, a roofed open fire picnic area, on sit coffee van, toilets and plenty of areas to walk the dogs overall this is a great local asset and worth a visit

This has become a very popular place for young families as the playground is large and family friendly with toilet facilities and under cover area. It looks like it it's wheel chair and pan friendly with concrete paths. On the weekend there is a coffee can there too give you a boost If you like hiking this is also a good place to start with wonderful access to paths and tracks that will let lead you to hours of walking, jogging or just simply admiring nature.
Pretty interesting place to hang out and we specifically came to the nearby Woolrich Lookout for hiking and sightseeing....then we got lost in the tracks....ended up at this place which is really nice ....the views are spectacular and we can see this is a nice place to hang out for families.....we love the hikes around this area....and the scenary is just spectacular ...highly recommended ....
Once the old Olinda Golf Course has now been reimagined into a new community precinct with something for everyone. Large playground close to the carpark for the kids, further inside the park you will find a dogs off lead area for the dog lovers and coming soon will be new playing courts and sport ovals.
The dog walking oval above the playground is turning into Melbourne's largest dog toilet. Will be keeping my kids well away from that part of the precinct, which is also showing signs of overuse. Parks are about to do some work, I hope it involves cleaning away the mud.
A beautiful new park with many different areas for all ages. Set amongst the tall trees with bird singing it was a stunning view. Be sure to rug up if you're going in the winter, gumboots advised as the carpark was muddy.
Great time and friendly place.
