Mourners were YELLED at to stay quiet as the service was about to commence by a man whose booming voice belonged at the footy not a funeral! No respect shown by either him or his sidekick handing out the memorial booklets who had a ‘couldn’t care less attitude’ about him. It took this same man about five tries of opening and closing the hearse’s back hood which made a loud screeching sound. He too told people to get out of the way so he could move the hearse. Also a few people were asked to “volunteer” to leave the chapel as the magic number of “47” had been reached (for Covid restrictions), so that the immediate family could come in to the chapel. Really?! There were way less than 47 people in the chapel. Why weren’t they checking numbers upon entry to avoid this happening? Very awkward! Chapel doors then solidly closed shut as the rest of the mourners were forced to stand or sit outside to view the service on 2 smallish screens, the size of which are more like small televisions - not the large screens you would expect. Those who watched the livestream had it stop completely as the photo slideshow was being shown. Then we were yelled at some more, this time to tell us to move around to the corner as the service was ending. Not actually told where exactly or why. So we all move to the side footpath. Then we get told to move right around to the side of the chapel to greet the family as they exit the chapel. I highly recommend vetting your staff a little better than this Olsens. I only assume these 2 men are employees and are not part of the Olsen family that prides itself on being a multi generational family business. As a business owner myself these 2 characters would have been booted out of my business very swiftly! Booklet was full of errors which the family had already proofread for you at the Viewing!! Your office should have found a more opportune time to arrange this, not put the family in a more stressful position having to check the work you should have been doing! Would have been nicer for the bereaved family to spend what time they had left with their beloved rather than doing your admin. The service itself was saved by the female celebrant who was excellent. She was very professional and showed compassion.

Recently farewelled my Uncle after a short illness. Olsens were very helpful and patient as we worked through the arrangements. There was only ever gentle reminders to meet the various timelines, along with offers of assistance. A beautiful service in the end. I can highly recommend them, and particularly Jennie who was with us from start to finish.

As Olsens is such a well recognised name in the Sutherland Shire we decided to call them after an unfortunate passing of a relative. They were very friendly, compassionate and professional and did a very great job on the day of the funeral. Thank you so much again - I would recommend your services to anyone.
