I went in store this morning to have a look around (I hadn’t been in this store for 5 years so I thought I’d have a look - I previously didn’t find anything too bad about the animal care). I was met with a rabbit who had very little water (and what was there had wood shavings in). I very kindly asked if the rabbit could be given water and was met with a cheeky tone of “yeah it’ll be done this morning.” As if the care of the animals isn’t the most important thing. Isn’t this a job that should be done before the shop opens? Why get a job in a pet shop if you don’t care for them. in addition to this, the rabbit really needed cleaning out and didn’t have a lot of hay. There was no enrichment. Just wood shavings, a small amount of hay, 3 or 4 empty food bowls and 1 with the smallest amount of water with wood shavings in with one wooden bridge. That poor bunny. Overall, poor and unsuitable conditions for rabbits as well as hamster cages and accessories which are also too small and unsafe. EDIT: as the owner has replied, I can confidently say when I was there there were NO water bottles present. Although, there probably would be now after my feedback - still Water bottles aren’t the best choice for bunnies. There was still not a lot of hay or enrichment, if anything I would say the enclosure was just under the absolute bare minimum.

Going to be completely honest, the staff here at right up their own backsides, we went in to get my dog some food which wasn't in stock at our usual place - have you got this food? "No"... OK so do you know when it will be in? "not sure".. Right ok.. Asked about a load of other valid things while genuinely bearing an interest in their shop which I would say has a pretty decent layout, was met with one word answers and a lass who refused to put the vaccum down.. So I thought to myself you are by no means the only pet store in Leeds and by far not the cheapest so please do not act like I should be privileged to come in your shop because I can and will go elsewhere. Looking at reviews and sarcastic answers from the owner I still get that distinct impression that they think they are the "only place to go" for pet supplies in West Yorkshire. Sort it out or you will go under, market is too tight nowadays not to throw in some free common courtesy, just saying

i,m leaving an disgusting review of this shop and the unexperienced ppl who work there they shouldnt have that job as they clearly dont know what they are doing but they are happy to take your money and scam you with there false products and give you useless information on how to look after your animals properly as you clearly can find out from experts over the internet of the truth and description on health care for animals they clearly should fire the women with the glasses on who works at headrow Leeds paw pet store as she clearly said to me i will be killing my own animal and tried convincing me to buy tanks and etc products that would cost me alot as i found out from animal experts it costs me alot lower and i already knew i was doing the right care for the animal theses people in there should be named and shamed and be on watchdog shame on you i advise anyone not to shop there and waste ur time and money on there rubbish

Hi guys don't even want to give one star but I couldn't find another way to comment. I bought 2 flexi leads from here got told my the so called manage that these r best ones ever last for years I'm like great bought 2 for my one each for my jack Russell's I got the right ones so I got home got my boys ready n guess what one snapped on me n these leads were 16.99 each so went to take the broken one bk just for the so called snotty manager to phone her boss for her to say I can't have a exchange case it wasn't known with these leads so it went on few mins then am like ok this is going further. My lead is now in post after getting in touch wi flexi. I'll NEVER shop there again.

I call into this store regularly as I work close by and I like to browse, they have a good selection for a shop of it's size and the staff are always friendly and helpful. I bought a dog harness and it is hard to guess what size is needed so I needed to exchange it the next day and this was done without any fuss and the two assistants was very helpful and searched through freshly delivered stock that had just arrived to try find my chosen colour and size and all this messing about from me was met with a smile and they was always polite and pleasant while I unfortunately had them scrambling through boxes. Sorry girls and thank you.

Quite a reasonable range of products, but a dark, dismal store with an even more dismal atmosphere. The staff are almost legendary for their sullen and uncooperative attitudes to anyone and everyone, and there's no explanation why. From the glare you feel on the back of your head as soon as you head down the aisle to the monosyllabic scowling grunts you hear in response to your enquiry about which shelf your dog's kibble has gone to, to the sour expression at the till when they fling your change at you, these people do their absolute best to make bad service an art form. Don't encourage it - go to Pets at Home instead.

Don’t understand the negative reviews of this place- especially those regarding the staff. In my experience the staff are all incredibly friendly, polite, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Bought a harness for my dog a few months ago without knowing if it would fit him, staff member told me that if it didn’t fit, I could come back and swap it! Above and beyond customer service considering I’d have to take the packaging off etc. such a wide range of treats, toys, and bones. All very fairly priced too compared to places like pets at home.

I come here once nearly every week for my pup and honestly just disappointed at the opening hours of this place nearly everytime I come they never open up on time. I'm standing here at 11:35 am when they should have been open at 10?? If the hours need updating please do so or at least please tell your employees to come in at least near to on time for work. I've needed supplies desperately for my dog and I'm now having to travel to pets at home.

I used to buy dog treats from here, then I noticed they sell REALLY tiny hamster cages, much smaller for their enrichment needs. There are birds in box cages so I have now stopped going. If they loved animals they wouldn't sell such items. Their reply doesn't make sense because they are encouraging customers to cage animals by just scraping the legal minimum required, again proving they have no clue on animal welfare.

Me and my partner are rehoming a large dog. We came into to store to change him from a choker collar to a harness as this would be better for him. He was very stressed, and didnt want to be in the choker. However the staff and everyone else in the store at the time were so understanding and so helpful with the situation!! Will be coming back again for more. Lovely staff and environment. Great store!! Fair prices too!

You’ve just lost a regular customer. This is the third time I’ve had to wait half an hour outside of your store when it should be open. If your opening times have changed, then you need to update it on Google/somewhere visible on your store-front. If your opening times haven’t changed, then you need to have a word with your employees. Im off to shop at Pets At Home as I know there doors will actually be open!

Everytime we come to Leeds City centre, we go here to pick up some treats for our pets, this time when we visited, we saw this absolutely friendly little girl Syrian she was sold so very happy but she came right out of bed, to the glass and just stared at us, stood on her back legs, being very noisey, if she wasn't bought we would have taken her XD staff friendly and shop very tidy :)

Animal cruelty. Poor kitten locked up in a display tank all alone, the poor thing was sat alone with no company and no one caring for it. The staff were unpleasant and snickering with one another and giving dirty looks to the customers. Horrible experience and will be reporting to RSPCA. Help stop animal cruelty and avoid this place and hopefully it will close down.

A visit to the Leeds store is always a treat for me ... oh and for Ziggy my daschund ! Always spoilt for choice. Can't believe it is same shop as that referred to in other reviews .... have never experienced anything other than friendly helpful staff. And as for the dog patisserie... as good as any I've seen in my home France for humans ! Keep it up ! Thanks !

Wouldnt recommend this shop at all. As I went in with my friend and was looking at hamsters and we fell in love with one but when we went to get it they asked for ID to prove we was 18 and I'm 18 and my friend is 19 so we gave them it and the manager came over and tried saying my friends ID wasn't her eventhough she had other proof of ID. Disgusting

I have a whippet and needed a harness for him. I'd bought online and as he grew I was finding it hard to get the correct fit. Pawprints stock the style I was looking for: Trixie. They showed me how varied the sizes are. They sold me two mediums and allowed me to bring one back once I'd tried them on my dog. Really helpful. Thanks

Bought 5 small Naturaldiet dog foods for 50p. No wonder they was 50p. They were 2 years out of date and I want my money back!! No other words can describe but ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!! They deserve no stars, if I'd of fed that to my dog, let's just say her health wouldn't be good at all. Disgusted by this.

Nice prices but dangerous toys. Purchased a gingerbread man chew toy on a rope and the plastic comes off very easily and my puppy eats it. Not even close to durable enough to be a chew toy. I’ve had to remove the gingerbread man from the rope. ( wish I knew how to add a picture)

Worst client service ever! I bought a squeaky toy for my dog, by the time I got home it didn't make any sound while squeezing it so I took it back to the shop. They didn't want to change it for a new one neither gave me the money back. They've lost a client.

Such helpful and commited staff to the animals making sure that they get their forever homes. They make sure that the animals are given as much attention and are held regularly to make them tame. My little hamster has been no problem with

Staff are always rude or moody towards younger shoppers, very unneeded and as much as I and many of my friends adore the pet shop, we do not like staying for long due to the quiet and moody tension from the staff.

Went in to grab hamster food and treats. Prices seem average for what I bought. The shop was clean, well stocked and the lady on the till was friendly. Seemed to cater for all pets, even live bugs for reptiles.

How come can you put a kitten behind a Window like a simple coat ? The kitten was crying a lot and no one care. .. i left it really sad and angry . Don't go there if you are against this kind of business .

The most unfriendly, unhelpful pet shop I've ever been in. The "so called" manager was completely unwilling to help or give advice. Won't ever shop there again. Even Pets at Home is better. Do NOT go there.

Didnt have a problem with staff. Bought a antler bone 4 my staffy. Bought them before lasted 3 months.bought a large one lasted one week .£13.pound wasted.and I had to take it off her she nearly choked.

Baught a yellow budgie from here .. and it looks a bout 1 ish year old not hand tame . But its now got a nice home and plenty of company with my other 2 birds and snake and iv named her savige xx

Only decent thing in this shop is the bakery, staff are rude and make a point of telling you the closing time as soon as you walk in not welcoming, its like they can't wait to leave.

I’m always a fan of paw prints, the staff are nice and the stock decent, my only wish would be that they reduced the amount of rawhide products they sold. But that’s just my view.
