Not too impressed. I was at a different Pet Planet location also on the north side right before looking for a specific cat litter brand. I told the lady that and she said she could look up my account because I didn't remember the name of the litter. So she goes to look it up and finds it and confirms the brand with me. I can see they didn't have it and I was just gonna call Jasper Gates pet planet to see if they had it before I drove the 22 minutes. The lady offered to call for me which was really nice. She confirmed the location with me before calling. She was on the phone with "them" in front of me and asked them to put it on hold for me. She told me they did. I left. I drove all the way there asking for my hold and they knew nothing about the call. They said they were the only one working there all day and they hadn't received a call from there. Not to mention they did not have stock of that litter. So I'm super confused, was she even on the phone with anyone? Did she just pretend to be talking to a worker at a different pet planet? Because the worker at Jasper Gates called all the other locations and they said nothing was placed on hold for my name or for that brand of litter. Very strange...

I always like to come here, but last week I used their new service, so I'm going to talk about their new Cat Grooming services. While they offer more than just those 2, I have the claws trimmed (for the safety of the technician, anyway) and was here to be taught how and have my cat brushed professionally. As it turns out, she has 4 undercoats and shed all year long like crazy so she showed me a better tool I can use to get rid of all that undercoat and instructed me on how often they have a major shedding episode so I can get on top of things. She was very patient, and my kitty, who can bite and be skittish, was actually calm and did really well. Very good experience.

Saw the post on Facebook that this location had a new groomer looking for clients. I have a LARGE breed dog that was a hot mess and booked an appointment. Alot of places wont even do large breeds. I was thrilled with the service. Staff was friendly, very knowledgeable and really cared about my dog and my challenges with her. My furbaby was done in 2.5 hours which was great considering I've been places that have taken 4+ hours. The groom was perfect and I could tell my dog was not stressed by the process. Will definitely go back and highly recommend this location.

We come here often to get our dog's food and treats! Our one dog is a little picky with who he likes and he absolutely adores Meagan! I also feel like it is a judge free zone where I'm able to shop with my dog and train him to be better in social situations while shopping for great products! Lucy, Meagan and Sam know me and my dogs by name. It Feels Like Home shopping here! if you live in the area this is the place to shop....it is warm, welcoming and caring unlike the Pet Valu across the street.

I wish I could give these ladies 10 stars! They’re so incredibly friendly and the prices for their products trumps other pet stores. Love them for bones, pigs ears and bully sticks! Also have all the supplies you might need, picked up a collapsible dog water dish that I needed for hiking for example. I bring my foster dogs for baths as they have a separate enclosed room so it’s calmer for them. I recommended this store a million times over! Support local!

I have been coming here for a few years. Meagan and Lucy are so friendly and are very knowledgable about their products and pet care. Shay-Lynn recently groomed our doodle and was amazing. We had a good discussion about our doodles skin care and allergies and how would be best to groom her. Our doodle is a senior and she completely understood her needs.

My puppy and I had an amazing experience with her first grooming session with Shay!! Shay was super friendly and informative! She let me know all the details of the appointment and did a wonderful job grooming my furbaby! We will definitely be going back! This pet planet has super friendly and caring staff, I have a great time every visit!

So excited for today. My boys turn 1 today and I am going to pick up some treats for them. This location has helped my brother and I with everything for the boys. Even gave me tips on food and other stuff for them. The dogs love going there when we bring them. Thank you for the great service and friendly smile everytime we go there.

I like this place because they do daily deals, especially dog bone Tuesday. Also one of the cheapest places to get water buffalo horns, which my dog loves. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. There is also a dog wash too, but I've never tried it as my dog (St. Bernard) is probably a little too big.

Pet Planet Newcastle is my favourite locally owned and operated pet store. The online ordering system is efficient and streamlined and they have excellent selection with reasonable pricing! Also, Lucy is very knowledgeable and always willing to offer suggestions of products to suit my dog's needs. Thank you!

Very bad experience with new groomer. I specifically asked to keep his face long trim around eyes , and shorten his legs. I wanted to cry when I picked him up. His entire head shaved and legs were left longer. Pictures were specifically shown of what we wanted. Avoid this groomer. Botched grooming job.

Came here for nail trim on my dog I usually go-to my pet store that charges $7.99 but they had no booking until Jan 7th and my Vet charges $11.99. This place charged me $15.00!!! and it took two girls to work on my 11Ib dog in front of entrance? Unprofessional never again highway robbery

BEST DOG GROOMER EVER. We take our 2 little guys to Shaylynn she is hands down a VERY good Groomer, she listens and treats the dogs very gentle with love, my one guy doesn't like going to people and he loves her, my Son's take there dogs to her now . honestly try her out you will enjoy

I really want to love this store! Their treat selection is good, the store itself is always bright and clean. I do find the older lady that works here has a tendency to come off a little rude and condescending at times however the younger girls are pretty friendly.

Pet Planet NewCastle is Fantastic, the owners and staff know my dog by name and always have what we go for in stock. Nail trimming by Meagan is much easier than doing it myself too....she even did our 10 pups. Great one stop shop, bath, and nail trim for pets!

I went there a few days ago to pick up a few things for some good friends who just got a new puppy. The store was clean and well organized. Lucy helped me out and she was very friendly, super knowledgeable and gave me some great recommendations!

All the ladies I have dealt with at this store are wonderful. Took my elderly dog in recently to give him a bath (love the dog wash there) and he even got birthday cookies as it was his birthday.
