Okay, I am conflicted about this review, but have been meaning to write a review for a while so here we go. I do like this store. Most of the people are really good. They do a lot of good things too, teaming up with rescues for example. But one of the staff members was just awful to my partner while I was on the phone with him for reasons outside of his control. So yeah, 2/5. It was such an awful experience for him. Edit: the manager reached out to us and gave him a gift basket of kitten supplies. The staff were very accommodating and even let us know when the lady who was rude wouldn't be working. We were assured she would be talked to as well. I know the pandemic has made people paranoid, but awareness of disabilities and medical issues needs to be a thing.

I can not say how AMAZING Kaiden is. She's worked at a couple of locations, and I've followed her for a reason. She has always been nothing but kind, professional, knowledgeable, always has the store clean, and best suggestions on what to get. However the reason I'm writing this review, is she went well above and beyond on Aug 24/22, she helped me make my dog Jagers last week special, by helping me get him one last toy and some treats. We all sat together, laughed and cried, while he enjoyed everything. Kaiden by far has always shown the best customer service, out of anywhere I've ever shopped. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything Kaiden!

Staff is awesome, always helpful and willing to do that little bit extra to make my life easier, from product recommendations to putting my purchases in my car. I've got a 16 year old cat who is borderline diabetic and, of course, fussy. Supply chain issues made finding my Athena's food problematic. I bought many types and flavours of high end wet food that were deemed unacceptable by the Princess of Pandemonium. I'm seriously grateful regarding Pet Valu's return policy (my sister's 2 cats, who love all wet foods, not so much!) Only one whiny thing to say: I'm mobility impaired, the outside door is very heavy and the outside door opener doesn't work.

The employee with the blue hair was very friendly and accommodating! The store fairly big and has a lot of different selections. Prices for bones are cheaper compared to most places, however some of the beds, cat trees are way over priced. The shampoo is actually affordable as well. We gave our dog a bath, I was expecting it to be $20-$25. We get to the counter come to find out its free! Overall was a very pleasant experience, the lady even gave us a little treat bag for our dog and gave her some kangaroo jerky. The only reason for the missing star would be for the pricing of some items. Would highly recommend this pet store however! :)

I came by today to get some cat food and a cone for my sweet Jimmy, he's suffering from some ringworm and he keeps scratching and licking off the medicine and its time for the cone. I mentioned it to the lady at the counter and she gave me a thing of wet food to cheer him up. He just finished eating it and he really enjoyed it, he's definitely not a fan of the cone, the wet food helped though. Thank you for your kindness and I will be sharing that story with everyone I know and to shop at pet valu!!! You're a wonderful person and pet valu is lucky to have you!!

Every single time I come through their doors, I am openly welcomed as if I were family. Each employee makes the experience fun, even though I walk out with a lighter wallet. Lol. I take advantage of the monthly Senior’s Day event so stock up on bags of dog food as I prepare to haul 6 months supply each winter down to Mexico. Our doggies do well on Pet Valu’s brand, Ultra Performatrin. The manager and assistant manager always support giving me the best deal they can. They even haul it all out to my vehicle for me! Love this particular store!

We have shopped at this location since we got our dog. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. It is obvious that they all have a love for animals. When our dog sees that we are near the store he is just bouncing and crying in excitement. We need to get a good grip on the leash as he tries to get in the store as quickly as possible. The wash facilities are excellent and very good deal without considering they provide all shampoo, conditioner, towels and treats also. It is always a pleasure to shop there.

Allergies are not fun, and I didn’t have any clue what to put him on. He absolutely loves the food I picked up, and I really appreciate you both being so friendly and welcoming! (As well as incredibly knowledgeable about all the different brands of dog food!) I’m going to try come in next time I have to shop there when you’re both working.

I visited this store on the evening of Thursday, May 11, 2023 while picking up some stuff for a friend's cat that I was looking after while she was on vacation. The young lady working there this evening was excellent. I didn't catch her name unfortunately. Extremely helpful, personable, professional and she knew all about my friend's cat. She really does exemplify what a great customer experience is all about. I wish more people in the service industry were like her.

Very poor customer service from the owner. Seems as though the other staff was willing to help, but owner very terrible. Sold a product that we said we were concerned with size when we purchased. Went to return as size was wrong and told we could not. No store credit, nothing. Not even an apology for not telling us at sale it was not returnable. Disappointing as it’s nice supporting smaller stores. We’ll be finding another location.

I so enjoy every experience/trip to Pet Valu - staff are always friendly and knowledgeable/helpful - lots of neat products and lines you can’t get anywhere else - we recently switched our Rescue dog Jake to the Orijens Dog food and treats! Our pup hasn’t been happier and healthier - his coat is so rich - the quality of the Orijens from Champion Pet Foods and it’s few ingredients has our boy very happy and healthy

Great place to shop for your pets. The staff were very friendly, warm and welcoming. Walked into the store for the first time, and was greeted like family. They have great variety of products at fair prices, the place is really clean and looks aesthetically pleasing. This store is basically a one-stop shop for your fur-baby needs. What a Great crew. So helpful and understanding. We're new to the city and the employees were full of great info. Sweetly helped me size my pups for winter coats with out the slightest complaint and it was a trying process of numerous coats and she even called another location so we got the product we needed . So thankful for her. We will be back for sure and the indoor pet wash is fabulous.

This is my favorite location in Edmonton by far. Bridgette (I feel like I spelt that incorrectly:/) is amazing, she has been so kind to me and my dog Gus. I wish I knew the other employees names because they have all been great as well. My dogs use the bath tubs there, and they are so easy and convenient. They have sales often, and I love that they support SafeTeam Rescue.❤️

If you are looking for a personal experience and want to buy local this is the place to come to. They have a large variety of pet food and accessories and their prices are competitive. They are conveniently located and obviously your pets are welcome to join you. I've never had a problem with parking but I could definitely walk here if I wanted.

Great staff, great dog wash, always help load my vehicle with a heavy bag of dog food. Even helped me out when our family had Covid, they kindly accepted payment over the phone and loaded my van up with the food and a few extra treats and coupons and a sweet note from the girls! Overall great customer service! Would highly recommend this place!

I visited this store first time today with my pitty- he needed a bath and the self serve was PERFECT. He’s super stubborn and the staff member with colourful hair (Jocelyn ?) was so helpful getting him in the tub.SHE WAS AWESOME! I have found the dream place to take this meathead for his baths . Everyone here is so lovely! They are so knowledgeable about animals and the products they sell are good quality and affordable! Best!!!!! A small store but carries items i need for my cats. They have cat and dog food. Canned and dry, Treats for your pets, and if you need help they will stop what they're going to help you. Nice store and prices are within the price range of other pet stores.

I can not say enough good things!!! The lady that I talked to was the nicest person ever, walked me through the process of the dog wash, and made sure I had everything I needed to make my puppy comfortable at her first official dog wash.

The staff at this location is first class. I have a super nervous husky and they all go out of their way to make him comfortable. This is the only pet shop I will ever go to. Here is Avalon loving a treat they sent him home with

The team at this location is absolutely incredible! I have a big boy who is reactive to other dogs, and the team here has also been kind, helpful & understanding. It’s the only location I trust for bathtime with all of my dogs.

Very poor service..staff is very unfriendly and unprofessional…9/10 time they reschedule the appointments and then don’t treat our pet nicely..very disappointed with their service. Will not be visiting this place again

The pet wash seems to have gotten progressively worse. The shampoo is so watered down we actually had to purchase shampoo from the store because there was absolutely no lather from the shampoo provided.

I didn’t get to ask her name but she gave me free performatrin dog food samples! I’m looking to get my dog dog food cause she’s a picky eater. She gave me like 8 bags! This store is the best!

Love the dog bathing area at these stores. First time we visited this location: the staff were wonderful and the bathing area was clean and stocked with the appropriate supplies needed.

Came here today to wash my dogs. Very pleasant female worker who loved my dogs. Very good service and she let me know about free washes for August which I appreciated.

I have been twice since Covid19 became an issue. Their handling of the situation is impeccable. Truly it is the only store I feel totally comfortable in.
