Firstly, I want to give a thanks to the lady who put me in touch with Lucera, (sorry, did not ask for spelling of her name) apparently dealing with the online orders, she was also very helpful and was kind enough to follow up on my order. The story is as follows and have posted a review on the Cape Gate store page.. They are taking online orders when they are in actual fact NOT DOING ONLINE ORDERS. The result thus you do NOT GET YOUR ORDER!! Orders come from Cape Gate, but forget about getting hold of them, they DO NOT REPLY TO EMAILS, or CALLS!!! I had to basically phone every store to be able to speak to SOMEONE at least, thanks to Lucera at the Roodepoort branch, who was kind enough in assisting me. Turns out that they do not have half my order, but she said she will send the dog food from her Roodepoort store and has requested a refund for the rest of the order from Melissa Tupper, Cape Gate. Lets see, because after reading the reviews on the Cape Gate store, they sound terrible and useless. Customer service is not up to standard, I can now agree. Unfortunately, until I have received my refund, which they promised they will do today, I am not relaxing until I see it back in my account, and if not, because I am close to Roodepoort, I will go there and make my claim and will also put a review up on Hellopeter..... IF, on the other hand, I do get my order and REFUND, I will post another review confirming that I did.

Hello, I had an aweful experience with your grooming department today. It was my first time at your groomers and the staff just tell you to go through...I go to a door that says "staff only"...I ask again for assistance and the lady said go through...when I get in ....the groomer says there is no water! I understand that is out of your control but no apology was given...then I asked the groomer to do the cut. She was very unenthusiastic about it then she goes off to get changed...at no point did she greet my dog...she didn't strike me as an animal lover....she didn't understand the cut...at which point I felt uncomfortable with her doing anything...she was happy for me to leave until I asked for a manager then she disappeared...no one till now called and apologized...and if I must be on time or pay a cancelation fee how come your groomer is not even dressed to groom....you are more expensive than D-tail but your groomer lacks the customer service and the ability that they have...I am extremely disappointed and will never use your grooming services again and will advise other animals lover's to use D-tail. They are friendly and most importantly connect better with the pets. Thank you

If I could give 0 stars I would. Great selection of products, but the treatment of the larger birds like the two young African Grey's and a Macaw I saw today was absolutely disgusting. All three birds (African Grey's were together and the Macaw was in a separate enclosure) had a diet of sunflower and another seed which is not appropriate for big birds, and I couldn't see to the bottom of either water bowls because the bowls/water was covered in green mould. The African Grey's seemed OK plumage wise, but the Macaw had plucked parts of his body until no feathers remained, not even down feathers. The toys in both cages were broken and on the floor, and from what I saw there was only one toy in each cage when they were working. The Macaw started making noises when I came close so I went to him/her and spoke to him/her for a little bit but I had to leave. If I had 50k (which is pathetic for that malnourished and mis-treated bird) I would have bought him/her on the spot. Lower the price for the birds so someone who knows about birds can buy them or give them to a sanctuary so they can live properly. Not going back there.

Terrible service, I waited half an hour before someone could help me. Then too the guy just walks past and ignores me. Then when you do get a sales person they only want to sell you everything that you don't need so that you can spend your money there. They will sell you dying plants for R5 cheaper than they normally sell for. The quality of of aquarium livestock did not look too healthy as there were dead fish in many tanks. Honestly if you are looking for a good aquarium store go a little more down the road to Steyn nursery who have a fish world, their staff will break china to get you what you need. Update: 10 Aug, about a month later I have not been contacted by the store manager to date. the response below is a lie

To Debbie and her team at Petworld Princess Crossing, thank you for your excellent service in the past few days I was looking for a submersible pond pump and their assistance was absolutely 5 star I had no idea what size pump I needed They let me test the pumps for flow rate and had all the patience in the world. Also, the night before (17/07/2018) I called them at 17:58,two minutes before closing time and to my surprise they answered!! Debbie took the time to explain the pumps to me and said I could come in the following day for further advice if needed I ended the call at 18:02,meaning this was already past their closing time. Amazing store. I always buy the best toys there for my dog. However, today I was very disappointed. One of the ladies working today was extremely rude to me. I asked her a question about dog food since this will be my first time buying a specific breed. I was was polite and excepted her rudeness. However, when I walked away I could hear her saying bad things about me behind my back. She was also talking very loudly in front of the customers how she wishes the store would just close so she could go home. All the other ladies were amazing. Unfortunately, one rude staff member spoils your whole experience.

Good day, i took my 2 Yorkies for wash, cut, ears, nails at Roodepoort Princess Crossing today. The groomer Lydia that assisted me was extremely rough with Beeno to the point that he vomited on the table. When i spoke to her about the way that she was pulling his hair and that he was afraid of her, she replied that this is how they do it. Mollie the female's nails wasn't cut although I paid for it. I asked to see the manager Sarah and she didn't make an effort to come and see me and send someone else to talk to me. I will never support them again and won't refer anyone to them. What a traumatic experience.

My dogs love it there it is so big and there's lot of stuff the only reason I don't go there a lot is because they always have the same thing and they never have dog clothes my favorite part of the store is the groom place for all animals they are so kind to the animals you are aloud to take your dogs there and every time you go there you get a 5% or 10% discount if you want to buy animals there they are heathy and the get lots of food the pet store has the best treats and the best toys just the toys for the dogs is a little to expensive but I like be the place and I recommend you to go there

Absolutely magic...... Service brilliant. Would come back anytime... Still need travel cage for Bella she is an overjoyed little kitten real cutie pie. Petworld is THE BRAND!!!!!!! Kitten no longer named Bella.... My neighbour's baby is named Belle but they call her Bella.... So out of respect I renamed her Dashy.... because she is always dashing around in pure happiness. Thnk for replying and I would use Petworld to deliver cat sand to me please... You are really really the best because absolutely all all you need under one roof. Love you all. Afternoon, who can I contact to explain the shocking site at princess crossing, went there to spend approximately 1500 on fish for my new fish tank, I walked out only buying to fish due to the fact of so many dead fish in some of the tanks. Assistant wanted to give me fish eating on dead fish. He said it's ok there are only 1 dead fish but after looking there were 2 dead in 1 tank and other tank 3 dead ones. I am sure if I looked at other ones there would be be more dead ones. I thought it was a nice place but, no thank you won't be back as I do not want to poison my tank.

After having a terrible experience 4 months ago, I wasn't planning on going back...BUT...Ronald has convinced me otherwise, he goes above and beyond, even after hours he is contactable for advice, he updates regularly on new fish, pricing is excellent, and Ronald has a wealth of knowledge, from plants to fimters, to fish to substrate, this man has true passion for the job. If you need anything, just ask for Ronald, he will climb mountains to assist clients! He is an absolute asset to this business!

Extremely dissapointed. When I was there today they had atleast a dead fish in every tank and some even had 2 dead fish in them. Prices are ridiculous, and any person who knows anything about fish would know not to put 2 siamese fighter males in the same tank yet here they did it. They handle the fish very rough and I bought a couple because I felt bad for them just to get home 10 minutes later and 3 out of the 6 are dead. Very disgusted and very dissapointed. I would not recommend them at all.

Love this petworld and the fact that you can see them grooming your pet, service was excellent. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is just to make the personnel aware that they need to communicate better. This was my first time bringing my puppy in for grooming, I've never been there, and no one explained to me what they needed, or what I needed to do. Maybe just ask the customer if it's their first time and walk them through what will happen and what they need to do :)

Very poor online services. Placed an order on the 14th of September, and to date 22nd of September i still have not received my order, when trying to enquire about my online order, they just don't get back to me, and there is no contact number, as the the store them selves cannot help me, so what am i supposed to go buy other food from another store and spend double the money as i don't know how late my order is going to be??? I will never shop there again.

The worst service I’ve ever experienced in a store. The lady behind the counter was talking to another man about how much of a “hoax” COVID-19 is. She did not greet me, nor tell me how much my purchase is. She did not speak one word to me while I was buying pet food (at an exorbitant rate). Rude and ignorant to be spreading falsehoods about a pandemic in front of your customers. This pet store is also extremely expensive. Thieves.

I find their prices to be very high. I was also given a recommendation of a product to keep pets off furniture (which cost a R100 more than the product I had in my hand) but the product was ineffective. The fact that the pet off didn't work is not the fault of Petworld (obviously). I am just annoyed that they recommended the more pricey one when the cheaper one would've also have done the same task, which evidently is nothing.

Horrible and unhelpful service. I live 50km away but it’s the only store that had the product I was looking for and needed for my kitten, and I had called head to check, so I drove there and arrived 3:02 (not joking, 2 mins past their supposed closing time even through the internet said 5pm) but cause it’s a public holiday they refused to help me and said they closed. So drive 100km today for no reason. Thank you for nothing.

It's big and they have a lot, staff tried to be as helpful as possible which I appreciate. My lowering of stats sits on the fact that some items are over priced compared to other stores, I didn't get what I was looking for and the animals/pet selection is limited. If you are looking for something for your pet and no one has it they might have it due to the size of the store. I'll be back but it's not my first choice.

Received good advice from staff, the person explained various tropical fish and their habits very well. Im a new fish tank owner and was help really well. Compared to other pet shops I would recommend petworld. Pricing and health on fish are good, no experience on other products but the place looks clean well maintained friendly staff and looks like they have everything right to provide anyone a great experience

I love this store very much i always buy here how ever please try to uplift your customer service dont just cross customers, stop ask them if they ok. The reason why the pet store at westgate closed down was that they didnt have customer service at all they were telling you where to get off now,that incident took place about 4 to 5 years but it lasts for ever to someones mind i dont feel pitty for any of them.

If you love your pet, do NOT go here. I do not recommend them and will never return. The staff helping you on the floor is useless! They have minimal knowledge for the care of animals, unwilling to listen to you as a customer that tries to correct them on giving out false information, very persistent and plainly rude. A total unpleasant experience. They are expensive and have massive chips on their shoulders.

Customer service at petworld is out of this world. They went out if their way to help find the perfect bed for our doggie when the one we ordered was out of stock. They kindly and patiently helped us to choose from many different beds and gave the perfect one to us at the same price. We are forever thankful and our juno can now sleep like a queen. Ronald and simon has been helping us get our fish tank fish friendly, guiding us and giving us advice. I have to be honest they both have great knowledge and care for the animals. We will never buy another fish from this shop again!!! We bought a complete 100lt tank from my daughter's friend 5 weeks ago , we combined those fish and ours from our small tank (in total 14 fish), 2 weeks ago we bought 11 new fish from this store - since then all the fish have died apart from 2 pleco's. We tested the tank water at the store and were told everything was ok.

Took my pomenerian for grooming here and honestly they did such a pathetic job. I held my tongue as I was very upset I will never be going back. They literally were lazy to give her a scissors trim that they just took the machine and went over the dog to below her undercoat. Disgusting service. Stay away.They have actually caused my dog harm. There is not many places on the Westrand where you can find a decent selection of reasonably priced aquarium plants. Except for the tissue culture plants, thy are unfortunately unlabeled. The Fourways branch have an even wider plant selection from time to time. To top it off, every purchase automatically generate a 5% discount voucher for your next visit.

A wonderful store if you are looking for a great variety of pet accessories etc. I particularly am a tropical fish lover. The down side is that nobody in this store seems to be well trained on fish and the aquatic plants. So in my opinion this is not a place to goo look for advice but they most definitely have a big selection of fish and other goods.

I got to this place a little bit late. Not knowing their closing time. The staff told me the will be closing in 5 minutes so I hurried as I know what I wanted. When you phone them, they aren't really helpful. I phoned to see if they have stock and to find out the prices, response I got is. Oh I don't know, I am on the other side.... So I had to ask, is it possible that someone can check for me. Then they didn't seem really happy as if they didn't want to. Same in the shop. Not very helpful.

Online Purchase from Roodepoort. Order placed, system showed stock. 6 Days later i had to follow up on my order. 1 day later they placing an order with supplier. 1 day later no stock and a refund given. so all in all 8 days later no pet food and extremely poor communication. i wont be ordering from them in the future unfortunately.

Petworld XXL Roodepoort offers a good selection of pet products for your pets. Unfortunately, I have struggled the last few times to find certain items, but I think it might have to do with the suppliers' stock, or with the lockdown regulations. For a beautiful animal of this size it is being severely neglected. Last time I was there he was fully featherd and playful, now he is depressed, plucking and hardly doing anything. I went to Petworld Roodepoort today to get my hamster. I was extremely happy to see that their hamsters are kept in separate cages as they should be. The woman was not very clued up when it came to answering questions for a first time guinea pig owner, the cages and accessories are extremely over priced, we ended up getting the exact same cage and items at West pack pet zone saving over R600 and then only buying the actual animal at your store.

I went into Petworld Princess Crossing the other day, was honestly shocked to see what their fish tanks looked like. Algae was out of control. Dead fish in just about every tank and the Tetras were in a shocking state. Not fit for sale. Used to love going in there, not sure what is going on now.
