Someone suggested to come to this bakery instead of emerald and it's definitely worth the drive. Heaps of options and they bake their own sour dough bread, absolutely divine on weekends unfortunately they're very long queues, so might be worth while going during the week if time permits.... Oh and you can buy cheese there too....

Proserpina Bakehouse in Mt Dandenong is a wonderful spot to take a break from the busy world. Even though it's close by, it feels like stepping into the countryside. They have amazing coffee and a wide range of baked goods. The smell of fresh baking mixes with the clean mountain air, creating a lovely atmosphere. You'll want to bring a big appetite to enjoy all the delicious food they offer. The place is so inviting that you'll definitely want to visit again. It's like a little peaceful getaway where you can enjoy great food, refreshing air, and a break from the hustle and bustle.
Chaotic & the worst pie ever! Certainly was not worth the 20 minute line up to order. They take orders for things then come and find you and tell you they're sold out. In the end we both got beef pies. The presentation was terrible...but you think despite that it will probably taste great? No! Bland, bland, bland. The patisserie items and tarts etc. looked much better than the pies.

Love the decadent chocolate cake (not the flourless chocolate cake) and chunky beef pie. I have to say the sausage roll is not the best I’ve had. The sausage looks bland and this is probably controversial but sometimes too much butter in a pastry doesn’t make the pastry yummy. Anyway I’d go back again to try other Brekky options.
Hands down the best Bakehouse I’ve been to in Australia. An impressive business all around. They must be very creative owners who nailed the interior design, the menu and the price point. 10/10

Great atmosphere at this quaint spot, love the freshly baked cakes and snacks. You can expect a queue at peak times which is a drawback and parking can be difficult to access. Prices are on the high side…but altogether well worthwhile the experience!!

I loved this bakehouse. It is a great mix between a cosy restaurant and a small, local store. You can get wine and cheese here, but also enjoy a full breakfast, great coffee and amazing sandwiches. It also has table service, but you order ahead at the counter. Toilet rating 8/10.
If you’re on a drive to Mount Dandenong/Dandenong Ranges, this is a nice cafe bakehouse to clal into. Good selection of sweet and savoury options. The almond croissant is very good as is the pork apple sausage roll. The homemade lemonade is also zesty & refreshing.
Really enjoyed this place for a good breakfast. It's a bakehouse, so most of the offerings are based on some form of baked goods: breads, pies, pastries etc. They have a large selection of cheeses and you can ask for a charcuterie board to
I am a regular being a local. Beautiful selection of cakes & pasties and breads, on this visit I brought the plumb slice very tasty perfect, 5 stars. This establishment is always a busy place over weekends and some weekdays, you can expect
Two of us visited Proserpina Bakehouse for lunch on a Friday. The cafe is beautifully decorated with lanterns and colours. They offer a wide assortment of tarts, pastries, pies and more. I found the homemade sausage roll to be very buttery
Absolutely love this place but it’s always such a long queue & super busy!! Hoping they can expand to make the atmosphere more pleasant/relaxing. Otherwise, sweets are amazing, staff are lovely & highly recommend! More
Always busy on weekends late mornings but if you’re in the area and in the mood for deliciousness, it’s worth the wait. Sourdough bread here is tasty + lots of other scrumptious treats on offer …
Lovely Bakery, nice and cozy and the food smelt Amazing! It was a super busy Sunday, with a lineup that moved quick enough. Hard to find a table to eat in, but it was rainy outside.
Nice bakery with its little charms. Not a fan of Ikea furniture thou. Not quite there yet with the setup. Might come back in afew months see if it improves. More
Staff were lovely, so accommodating with our young family. They gave us information on the local stores just a short walk from the cafe.
