This is my go to pet shop for getting all the essentials for our bunnies as a local. We go there every couple of weeks. This pet shop sells a range of products for small to large sized pets such as enclosures, accessories, toys and good quality food. Owners of the shop are very helpful and friendly. They are usually quite busy on weekends but they open 7 days a week and you can avoid the peak hours if you need some advice from them. You will find good quality oaten hay and a range of oxbow supplements as well as Timothy hay for bunnies/guinea pig. They also sell beautiful budgies, pet rabbits and a range of chewing or boredom killing toys and essential equipment for small animals. You will also find food, clothes, toys and harnesses for bigger pets such as dog and cat like the usual retail pet shop. If you need something for your beloved pet, as a local guide, I would definitely recommend you to check this out, especially if you are looking for something specific. You may surprise yourself and find things that you don’t normally find in the retail pet shops.
This store sold us apparently a mini lop rabbit, which we puchased for our daughters 8th birthday. After our $140 purchase including small cage, and food. We returned home, where our daughter fell inlove with him. To our major disappointment the rabbit is not a mini lop, or is it healthy. It has deformed teeth, that constantly need grinding down at the vets every 6-8 weeks. It has also grown to big for her to handle. After confronting the store regarding this they claimed they grind the teeth down themselves. I was gobbed smacked that they breed these knowing the rabbit have a miserable life. There was no refund, no offer of another rabbit or even a bag of food. All we recieved was oh sorry. Do not buy any animals from this store. Im actually thinking of reporting them to the Rspca.
I went to buy a Budgie from this place. Turns out they’re $60 which I personally think is way too overpriced. I asked for what they’re cheapest Budgie is and it’s $55 for the yellow ones that look unwell. This is insane pricing as you can get Budgies for $15 - $30 at a PetBarn or Breeder which have healthier and well taken care of Budgies. Also to add, the Bunnies are cute but they have such a small space they can barely move around. This place just seems full of animal cruelty and is too small to even be selling animals, especially over pricing them when they’re clearly not taken care of. The market place should be for products only, not live animals. Honestly happy I did not fund this place.
I've had some memories of buying birds like canary's, finches and even fish from this pet store in lately timed F - lane way shed. But that was 33 years ago back then, it's about as good as you were going to get nowadays (although that's not saying much as I used to remember the farm animals that used to resided just outside the meat & dairy area later regulated near the misinformed L shed in the mid 2000's as well) until various groups like PETA and our melbourne councils destroyed the animal element to the now dying market as of the 21st century. So I'll give it 3 stars for the memories decades ago but you're still not ever ever going to get me to ever go back to Vic Market ever again...
I DO NOT recommend this shop! I bought a parrot from that shop and the assistant told me this one is really young it’s around 5-6 months. So I bought it and then I took it to the vet for vaccines and the veterinarian said it’s an old parrot around more than a year. He also showed me a picture compare of the 5 months parrot feet that can show the age of bird so difference from mine. So I call to the shop and tell them about this for do the refund and I want to change to the new one but I didnt finish my word he suddenly blame me and said I know that you dont want to pet it anymore and said to me a lot of things. No any offer no apologize! I will report this to rspca
extremely unethical bird care. i do not know about the rabbits or otherwise but it looked bad. i know fair bit about birds as a longtime owner of a few myself and the care is just disgusting. there was a bird that was practically naked with how many feathers it had plucked. if you're reading this and considering getting a pet like a bird or a rodent (or any pet for that matter), i highly recommend doing some very thorough research on husbandry as well as looking into ethical breeders or rescues. places like this are so awful, i have no idea why they still exist.
This is one of the best pet stores in Melbourne. We have been coming here for last 4 years. They have most of the stuff that someone needs for their pets. We bought 2 budgies almost 4 years ago from here and they are still with us. We buy toys for them (every second month) from this shop and the quality of their products is great and prices are reasonable too. Great place to buy your birds or even toys for them (if you have already got birds)!
Lovely location for pet toys, accessories and food. They have one of the bigger bird sections for pet stores in the area, so it's a treat for my tiels. There are even live pet birds like budgies and cockatiels for sale. I must commend the two "staff members", one accompanied me around the shop while the other watched over the store very enthusiastically with his head plopped on a box. Lovely babies who are friendly for headpats.
Not good for cat owners. The staff there don’t even know what’s ringworm. Their practical knowledge is questionable as well And they tried selling me a carrier that’s basically for a medium dog, they say ‘oh you know your cat will grow’, well definitely, but it doesn’t grow into an adult cat overnight.....also it was expensive considering the quality.....
excellent fighting fish selection. if you are a fish lover like me, stay away!! i almost went home with 30 new goldfish myself only disappointment was that they did not have the fantail variety fighting fish. i have been searching high and low and was hoping this gem of a store would have it.
My friend and I walked in and impulse bought two goldfish and it was very affordable (there was a package deal with the bowl) and they packages everything really nicely and gave us extra rocks to decorate our tank free of charge. Would buy again and recommend to a friend for some lit pets.
Animals living in horrible condition!! Fathers plucked, crowded in tiny cages. I was trying to buy some pallets for my budgies and the owner had no clue what pallets are. Then they got out some stocks expired!!for 3month and try to sell it to me at a cheaper price.
It's a hot and lovely night market. There are a variety of food choices with various dessert and drinks together with live music. Also, you can find quite a lot of souvenir items there. People spend a night full of funs and joys there.
Our Bowie had a grooming session with Ben today and she looked like a million $. Thanks Ben, you are the best. My labradoodle continues to have many raving fans. And you gave her a cute and ladylike look! Highly recommended.
We got our lovely Peter from Queen Victoria Market Pet Store and his supplies from them all the time. Best pet store in Melbourne really. Always friendly owners made my wife and I feel very welcome every time we swung by.
A great little pet store for all the essential accessories and needs for your fur baby. Great range of leashes, harness etc. Fantastic service and very helpful. We love our adidog and fuzzyard harness! Thank you guys.
Great pet shop for bunny owners. This shop has everything you need for your rabbits and sells bales of oaten hay which is better than what you can get at your other pet shops (and better value).
I find this pet shop to be an absolute 'Gem' great products at good prices, a staff that are both knowledgeable and pet lovers. I pop in weekly to ensure my rabbits and cats are looked after.
It's a market with everything, from soap to golden chains, animal food, aquarium, clothes you name it it got it.and the price is very cheap we called it queen heaven market …
I went into this pet shop today and was disgusted with the service after asking the prices on a few different things I was told “your asking too many questions” I WILL NOT BE BACK.
Nice place, helpful people. Their pets always look healthy unlike the chain pet stores. Seem to take better care of what they have. It’s great to support local pet shop!
The staffs has always been very kind and helpful. It has a huge selection of dog, cat, birds and small animal supplies that you can't find elsewhere.
Very friendly staff and the animals are well looked after. They have a wide range of animal supplies in good quality and reasonable price.
Fish tank in very poor quality. Tank overcrowded , saw two fish about to dye. Stressful environment for any living animal in the shop.
Buying stuff for my Peter Bunny and got the 2024 Christmas limited edition gift from Queen Victoria Market Pet Shop. Love love love!
Crowded bird cages and rabbits miserable in cages Why is this still happening?? Clueless owners zero knowledge ! AVOID!!!!!
Little pet shop yet a wide range of products from rabbit care to birds. Excellent customer service, best pet shop in Melbourne
Friendly staffs and nice advices for my pup. Has various options for treats and things for teething period. Highly suggested.
Found everything i wanted for my budgies at one place. Owners are good they help and recommend good things.
Cages are small and need to be upgraded to be larger but the overall service was amazing and very helpful.
They have some birds available here and some pet supplies, most of it is very cheap plastic junk though.
They supply the best rabbit hay. Affordable, fresh smell and my dwarf bunny loves to eat
