Had my laptop stolen from me at my house in December. When I went to try open a case the Constable on duty kept telling me to wait and helped any ladies that were waiting even though I'd been there before any of the 3 ladies had gotten there. When I asked what was going on, he said I can wait(I've also got a busy schedule. I don't mind letting a lady go before me but when it becomes 3 in a row and I get told I can wait, then I'm sorry but it is supposed to be 1st come 1st serve). Then eventually he started taking my statement after if complained to the Captain twice only too halfway through tell me again I can wait for another officer too help me g pushing my docket to one side. Then turning again to a pretty lady and helping her but pointing at the station commanders cell no telling me if I've got a problem I can phone him. So I left then went too Claremont police station who were very helpful by phoning Lansdowne too check if the docket had officially been opened etc which it had not. They told me they could open the docket but said it would then take an additional 6 weeks to be posted back too Lansdowne any way as it's their durastriction. So I decided to try again later that night with a different shift staff. When asked why I was reporting it so late, I explained to the officer what had happened. He then told me that the day shift should have done their own work & opened the case & he's not here too do there work for them so I must come back in the morning so the day shift can do their own work. So again I left without a case open.Bext day I walked in too see the same officer that was helping the ladies the 1st time I was there , so I didn't even bother. Went back another day later and was eventually helped by a different day shift officer. It took me 4 days of running up and down between police stations at all different times of day & night to get my case of robbery opened up. The best part about it was the 1st time I was there I chatted to a detective while waiting too be helped and when I told him I'd been robbed and I know the guys name who did it, he asked me the guys name & took me to the computer in the back which takes fingerprints and pulled up a picture of the guy who I identified as the suspect. He told me to wait and they would open a docket for me, that's when he left and the whole story began. So they knew exactly who'd committed the crime & it still took me 4 days too lay the charge. Absolutely Pathetic service of which makes me ashamed of our men in blue. I must however say that once I'd opened the case, detective Hashe was outstanding with the speed in making the arrest & getting my laptop back and getting the guy into a court of law. I was exceptionally happy with him and SAPS should be thankful to him for restoring my faith in the police. Well done & thank you Detective Hashe. Regards Denim Hamilton.

Got robbed wanted to lay a case, nope. Not interested. Told me go to insurance or small claims. Pathetic, asked cop for his name as unprofessional, walked me outside ( backwards) and just refused to give his name. Asked a few times to see identification, nope just gave me a telephone number. Police badge missing. , fell off not put back on his jersey. Asked for supervisor in charge, guy at the back said noone wants to be supervisor. Then we wonder why our country such a mess. Very very unprofessional. Zero customer service, this is why criminals run South Africa.

This is the most corrupted Police Station. They arrested me and then beat me. The next day they released me. They kept my phone and money. They refused to allow me to use Telephone. Then they stole from my property that was booked in. The also want to my house and stole. I am disgusted that even after all this Col Van Wyk allows his criminal police people to work there. Then take cases from liars and criminals just because it's against me. Sies

What a Joke, guy beating up outside my property. Police took 30mins. I called the ambulance too. They tell the guy go home where he came from. I look at a bald headed policeman (other one on looking at messages) tell him call the ambulance. he didn't of course. He wants to confront me for answering him back. This intimidation BS by these so call thugs dress as police is pathetic. But way better that Grassy Police station

Haven't experienced bad service here before. Police officers are always eager to help you. I wish all SAPS could be as good as this branch.

Trying to call them at 21:40 pm no luck untill I eventually got through at 10:10. Ridiculous waiting time for a police station
