The trails here are nice, easy, and paved until you get to Wilcrest. The fun part begins once you pass Wilcrest and get to the actual trails. You have two options: stay high and ride a flat/easy trail, or take the path down and go for speed and harder difficulty. These trails are among my favorite. They have a lot of up and down and fast trails. The trails pick up once you get to the Anthills, but dies down quickly after that. I will continue to come here and greatly appreciate the people that maintain these trails.

Well we were not suppose to crosse the fence but.. we did haha It's always good to come back to any park to walk and relax a bit. Saw many people jogging, walking also few cyclelist riding bicycle. Only cons I could say is how small of a parking is. It is a decent size but when its crowded it is hard to park, and also entering and exiting parking could be dangerous. From the way how road is formed. Other then that it's a great place to spend bit of a time.

The bicyclists often zip past pedestrian visitors with no notice. Check your back if you are walking. Motorized skateboards are no longer listed on Mr. Cagel's Precinct 4 signs, but a visit to the rules site referenced by the signs' QR code declares motorized vehicles are still banned. When confronting one such rider, he claimed that since that prohibition is no longer mentioned on the signs, he can race up and down the trail.

One of the highest frequency parks and places in all of Houston. Recently moved from Cypress Texas to Memorial for work and i missed the nature and parks from over there. Discovered this gem, and made me like the area even more , it's a perfect mixture of Houstons booming metropolis and Texas nature. It reminded me a little bit of Austin and San Antonio with the small hills. Park enthusiasts definitely check out this trail!

Great park to take the kids fishing. Plenty of trash barrels along the way so please keep it clean. I go here to catch carp for bait, then use them to catch gar like this 5 footer. There's loads of catfish too. There's tons of trees so use heavy line. There is ample parking with access off the feeder road. Tons of bike paths, benches, and exercise equipment as well.

Updating my review for safety reasons. This was a beautiful place to walk, but my friend's car was broken into and some of my stuff was stolen. I am from out of town and got the run around with the Houston police department. Please be careful and, if anything ever does happen, the correct police department to contact is the Harris County Constable Precinct 5.

Such amazing, nice , peaceful, and clean place. It was my first day to go there for biking and I could bike and see beautiful scenes. You can go for biking, hiking, walking , and running. I recommend everyone to go and see in person. Don't go at night or after 8 PM because it would be kind of dark. I took the pictures at 6:30 PM.

  • Jonno Norton

The park is nicely kept, but it smells like sewage here. The freeway noise is intollerable and you can smell the fumes coming off all the cars. Very poor quality air here not conducive to healthy exercise. I can't imagine why anybody would come here with such good alternatives nearby. Won't be returning to this location ever.

My go to hike and bike trail. Not so crowded like memorial is and offers just as Good. If not better scenery. Since the bayou runs right along the trail, it can be really cool... But it can also be really humid. Elevation changes means you can get a nice workout in. There are also plenty of scenic spots for photographers.

  • Chely Happy

Love this park to walk, run, ride a bike or come play with my dog. You can also have a nice pic-nic and enjoy the fresh air, wild flowers and even get to see cranes, turtles and rabbits! I just wish the trails had lighting for when it gets dark and you are still trying to make it back to your car or to your home.

This is an excellent series of trails in the metro area. Seems safe and well maintained. Great for family biking and walking with easy access. There's also some trail biking paths for the adventurous. Yoo-hoo colored creek water takes a star, it could be cleaner. All around good place for a huge city getaway!

  • Amy Hikes

Nice paved walk. About .8 of a mile in there is a cute playground for the kids. Also a restroom and water fountain. There is also a water fountain at around 2.3 miles in. Very sunny. Sun protection advised. Good for strollers and bikes. Lots of elevation change. Lots of blueberries. We saw a cute bunny.

  • Bruno Ríos

One of the best biking trails in town. The Anthills are great for mountain biking on one side of the bayou. The paved trail, although busy, can take you 18 miles out starting at BW8 and cruising through George Bush Park all the way to Fry Rd. It's the closest thing we can get to rolling hills.

  • Shravani

Really shocked to see such beautiful park in the middle of the city with small stream besides the park . The place is very good . Read somewhere tat there are snakes in this park so stopped going . Else it’s a really beautiful place with thick trees away from huzzle buzzle.

  • Jasmine Sinini

I love going to Terry Hershey Park. Always peaceful when I go for my run. The blue bonnets are definitely in full bloom and always pretty to stop and look at. Only on rare occasions you get a rude biker that doesn't slow down when passing pedestrians or passing too close.

  • Misha Shvartsman

Nice trail but it is not a wild area. It is an urban walk with rude bikers that have little consideration for hikers. Also marsh is not kept up well, too much plastic and garbage thrown around. It is still mostly enjoyable walk including nice clearings with dandelions

  • Tish

such a great little park. Super green and earthy, the trail is very smooth. I rode my longboard, others biked and ran-so very well paved for an adventure. Some fun hidden places in here ! I stopped in on a xcountry road trip, it was one of my favorite skate stops.

  • Georgia Hackleman

My favorite part of the trail is the section from Beltway 8 to Kirkwood. There are sections with good grade, bridges, and follows the bayou. Many times rabbits can be seen along the trail. It's great way to feel very far removed from the city.

  • Michael R McCarty

The family and I love to take walks on the trail but now with our new bikes we found ourselves riding 7 miles round trip. Having a place to get outside with the family that is as awesome as Memorial Park and the new downtown Bayou trails.

  • Mr. No Tengo Dinero

I love this park! Nice and smooth path for my feet! Brought my longboard with me and I enjoyed the road! Definitely a good place for getting exercise by walking, riding and running! Highly recommended and come and walk! :) Cheers …

  • Giorgio Rdz

It's an amazing park with amazing views. It feels like an escape from the city life. The only thing that I believe needs improvement would be add lighting into the park. But I don't know if the concept of the park to be nature park.

  • Alt Code

Starting at Beltway 8 to Fry Rd in Katy. At leat 33 miles of paved trail with new asphalt on almost 75% of the trail. There are other paved trails connecting to The Terry Hershey trail at Elridge and Fry Rd. Totaling over 50 miles.

  • Kaare P

Ok bike and walking trail, but criminals prey on the parking lot. Had my truck window smashed and pants stolen from the front seat and backpack stolen from back seat. Learn from me and keep your vehicle empty if you go here.

  • L. Stewart Hearl

I've never bee in the park itself but I have walked on the walking/bike paths that run on either side of a drainage culvert. The paths reach from Whittington to considerably north of Briar Forest where the actual park is.

  • Houston

Beautiful trails, well kept, feels safe with plenty of others always running/walking/biking along with you, take one leave one boxes to Trade books, water fountains every mile or two, clean bathrooms every 3 miles or so.

  • Phi

Very fun bike trail that's not too challenging for the whole family to ride along on a breezy morning/afternoon. Rode it from Beltway 8 to Hwy 6, takes about 1-2hrs depending on your speed and how many breaks you take.

  • Meet Krizzy

Hello. I got here at 7:15 a.m. and the gates to the restrooms were closed on this end of the trail (BW8 feeder). I left the trail at 10:00 a.m. and the restrooms remained closed!¡ Bring your wipies and good luck!

  • Tony Som

A very beautiful, calming place to walk and think. For a second I thought I was not in Houston anymore I love nature I think I will be coming here more often just part has been hidden from me for too long

  • Tuck, Jeremiah

Large enough to have your own spread, clean as a park could be expected, versatile park amenities for working out, handicap accessible, wildlife, and safe but watch the kids there is water around park

  • Israel Garcia

The park is nice apart from the stench of the drain and water but apart from that it's great for people who love running. I would kind of recommend it but for the people who hate bad odors do not go.

  • Eddie N

Its scenic and very beautiful..the only downside is it's both a park hike and a bike Trail therefore both hikers and bikers are sharing the same train. All in all it brings me peace and tranquility.

  • Mitchell Gorman

The park itself is great but the highway traffic puts a bit of damper on things. Going to the entrance off Eldrige is worth it if you have the time, but this location is good for a quick walk.

  • George Froming

The best continues biking and running trail in Houston. You stay off all roads, as you follow Buffalo Bayou from the Addicks Reservoir at Hey 6, through the Energy Corridor to Beltway 8.

  • Daniel Tran

Great for biking, walking, and running. If you have kids, might be a little careful and make sure they are wearing helmets. I have seen many fast bike riders that were very considerate.

  • Michael Trinidad

Hard to get past the smell coming from water treatment. Trail under construction ad hoping to get better access and get a better feel of entire park. I will be happy to edit my post.

  • Robbie A Ross

Omg !! I love this park. I always feel safe here And always leave nature an offering here!! Natural (biodegradable) food for the wild life and my deities ✨ …

  • cireen piz

Great place to walk, ride bikes and take your dogs. It does get quiet busy on the weekends. No trash cans along the path to throw away poop after cleaning up after your pooches.

  • George Wang

this is the oasis in the city. it is a nice, quiet green area along the buffalo bayou that is perfect for jogging or a casual walk. the pavement is all new, thanks to the city.

  • Ashley Reichert

Beautiful escape from the concrete jungle, especially in the spring when the flowers are blooming. I like to find different entrance points as the park is long and lots to see.

  • Creative Music New age

Great park and nice area need only Medicaid Boxes for emergency cases and small beverage market ( water and soft drinks ) thank you Harris County for the efforts Best Regards

  • Alex Ochoa

Very pretty and clean. Unfortunately some of the cyclists are pretty close to running you over but the majority call their direction. The actual trail is beautiful and long.

  • Marmot Canales (canarino3075)

Great park to visit on a weekday. Parking is rather small though. It can be noisy near the beltway, but as you walk through the bayou the noise greatly decreases. …

  • Andra Kim

Great paths with pretty good lighting and beautifully placed trees in some sections of the trail. Also appreciate the beautiful neighborhood and homes along the trail.

  • Lisbet Marquez Marketing Consultant

Who can have a complaint against beautiful mother nature? Not me. This place is great for walks, runs, skateboarding, biking, and whatever mode of transport you like.

  • Run Crz

One of my favorite parks locally. Plenty of parking off beltway 8 and Highway 6. Like to of shaded section along the paths. The paved/cemented trails are shared

  • Alberto Nieto

It's a wonderful place to walk and enjoy the nature. Any age is welcome. Sick and or healthy people can have fan while they make some contacts with the nature .

  • Tammye Berry

Great biking trail with plenty of shaded areas from the heat. Some of the hills were a little advanced for me as a beginner but I would definitely do it again.

  • Aladdin

The trail is a little narrow. Alot of bikes so it is kinda annoying to keep watching your back from getting hit by a bike especially if you have kids with you.

  • Richard Smith

Nice park for hiking, riding, or just looking at the plants and nature. Along a bayou with plenty of quiet spots to stop and just be outdoors near the city

  • Bernardo Engelke

Ideal place for long running sessions. Not too busy. When my girlfriend and I went there, I ran and she went biking. And we both enjoyed our activities.

  • m appleg8

Wonderful Trails both asphalt and dirt. Great place to get back to Nature, you can forget that you're in the big city for a little while on the trail!

  • Jess McConnell

  • Chad Kelley

  • Anthoney Gennusa

Been riding that trail since I was a little boy. They have really made it very nice to ride, with smooth paved trails and benches along the way.

  • Aja. H

Beautiful scenery, with amazing trails with plenty of hills to walk up and down. Even has a play area with a restroom. I truly love this park.

  • Bellamy Kemp

Nice trails for biking, walking/running. Has some hills. So be prepared. It is an urban park. So, this is not your hidden getaway to be alone.

  • Barb Sterbanz

Beauty and hills within the city. Flooded during Harvey but pretty much back to normal. Check for closings. They are doing some construction.
