I have a fully established tank and test the water regularly. Everything was great. Bought 15 cardinal tetras and 12 of them died within 48 hours and they would not replace. I thought I would give the benefit of the doubt and bought 8 loaches. One was dead before we got home (less than ten minute drive). They had ich and most of the other fish in the tank died. Only one loach was living after 48 hours. There was lots of other deaths too from fish we already had. Again no response from them. Also when you go there the service is extremely slow. If you buy plants from them you can expect your tank to be overrun by snails and duckweed. I will drive further and pay more before I ever buy from here again.

Don't do this often but it is necessary! The Planted Tank is a must go to shop. These guys go over and above super friendly and very knowledgeable in their field! for someone who just got into fish tanks and plants these guys took every bit of stress off my shoulders by explaining everything answering any questions i had. The stock they have is incredible from tank décor, fish, plants and more! i can't recommend these guys enough well done and thank you for helping me spend my money on this great new hobby If you have not been you definitely need to!

I can't say enough good things about Gene and his beautiful store!!! Beautiful fish, TOTALLY knowledgeable, incredible lizards and so much more!! Got my first tank set up with driftwood and rocks and moss and it's changed my life!! Transitioning all my tanks to the natural look. And just to round out my fantastic trip to The Planted Tank I got the greatest puppy love in the world!!!! Goes without saying this is my fish store for everything!! Very popular place on the Facebook. Though I'd try my luck as nothing in the north for good fish. Pleasantly surprised. They are in the midst of building their store, but still make it a friendly place with a decent stock... some typical fish and some really nice harder to fid species. If you're a plant nerd, this is definitely the place to go. Can't Can't for them to finish their plans... sounds like a one of a kind location. Cheers to the staff... Great knowledge. See you again.

I went to purchase some shrimp, the quality of service is among the best I've received at any fish store. Gene is clearly an expert and is passionate about this work. Don't go in expecting to have a highly polished experience, but don't let this appearance deceive you, it's clear that the owners would prefer to spend their money on more and better quality selection and care than on making each and every detail of the store look flawless. An attitude that I appreciate.

Extremely poor service is all I can say. The store and products look good but I have never been there in person. Tried to establish two delivery orders with The Planted Tank but neither were completed successfully. I live in Edmonton, I am disabled and they state they would do a delivery to my place. The last order was arranged to deliver on a date but none of my calls, texts or messages were answered or returned to me. I am extremely disappointed in there service.

Gene is your man for it all ! Him and his staff are super knowledgeable and give great advice. Like the name says , they got lots of plants for your aquarium ! So many different varieties! But it doesn’t stop there ! From rare breeds , normal fish and specialties to crustations , shrimps , snails and aquatic frogs ! Can’t ever recommend them enough ( also - they have KILLIFISH which no one like ever has any. They are awesome. )

I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this place! Everyone is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We are not the most experienced fish keepers and these guys were always able to help when we had questions or didn’t know what to do. A big thanks to Gene for delivering a tank and helping bringing it into our basement. Our Oscar’s couldn’t be happier in their new tank, thanks to these guys. I would give more stars if I could.

I bought some plants from The Planted Tank, and I am more then impressed!!! Showed up in a day and a half, packed nicely with a heating pad tucked in so my plants stay safe!! Harry is super knowledgeable!! What he doesn't know, you don't need to know! Give em a try, you will not be disappointed!!! You will be back for more!!! Harry will bend over backwards just to help you out in the best he can!!!

1st time to store. Really blew me away. I enjoy aquarium stores. This really is something unique. The owner (and staff) are as nice as other reviewers have described them. Owner is a middle aged lifelong fish junkie. Very interesting variety of fish & plants. Exceptional tank maintenance. Amazing displays. Worth a stop even if you don't have anything on your shopping list.

The customer service is excellent! Im not sure if the guy who helped me was the owner or associate but very helpful. He explained well the plants I was inquiring and gave me a free one. The price is just perfect and reasonable. This store has plenty of choices in aquiarium plants and fish. Highly recommended !!!

Excellent selections of freshwater fish and rare breeds not commonly sold at pet stores. They have a good variety of aquarium decor and fresh plants as well. All their tanks are very well kept and maintained. The owner is friendly and very helpful in answering any questions you may have.

Funny little store that doesn't look like a store. They had a nice selection of hardscape and plants as well as fish. I saw that they also had water softener etc. Very friendly and helpful staff. Update! The plants that I bought there a month or two ago are happy and thriving.

Visited this place for the first time today. Extremely friendly staff and very helpful. Nice selection of plants and livestock. Everything looked really clean and healthy. Will definately be my goto local shop for all my Aquarium needs. Highly recommend you check them out.

I would give it 6 stars if I could! It just opened in October and has nice plants and interesting fish, with more room for potential. But what was really outstanding was the owner, really knows his stuff and you can tell he likes his job, hard to find these days.

Gene and his staff were amazingly helpful in getting my first tank started! From what plants and fish are best together to filter and food recommendations, they are very knowledgeable and sweet. Great location and prices as well- can't recommend them enough!
