"Great big camp area"
"Want to spend time totally off grid, so off grid you're hard pressed to find a mobile connection? A place to sling a hammock, read in shaded grounds and enjoy peace? This is the place"
WAS a great place. Now a complete lack of maintenance and poor resources has left me with a poor experience. Apparently there was small print indicating the showers no longer worked which is not something one looks at when they worked the last time I was there. Also other websites advertise hot working showers there....apparently that's my fault for believing those sites. Toilets were blocked when we got there. By the look had been in this condition for a while. Atmosphere no longer present. Packed last time I was there....now there was hardly anyone around. Of those people there they were also disappointed. The rangers who eventually turned up to address my concerns were lovely and apologetic but were not in a position to do anything about it. The head ranger also contacted me by email to explain the circumstances which was appreciated, but the administration has failed to compensate me for the cost of my trip, despite the fact that I didnt charge them for the trailer hire and other expenses I wasted chosing this venue. The other major concerns I had was, on a total fire band day there were new Australians there with large open fires roaring with no supervision from rangers. Given what happened in Marysville this is reprehensible. Sometimes its so much better to accept responsibility and apologize. They have left me feeling it was my fault.
It was an lovely place to visit with the family and One way to get close to the mother nature. - No mobile connection, - running water, - average clean toilet - honesty ice bags run by CFA - undercover BBQ - clean environment - BYO firewood - clean running water lake to wash your self - near by was few 4wheel driving tracks for beginners & pro’s - pet friendly - Must not forget to take your rubbish home to preserve this area clean
Great experience, we went ther for a day and a half and it was the most beautiful thing ever. The only thing was that it had no power and there was not a great phone reception but other than that it had a great river with amazing spots to take photos of. At night it was really cold because it in the mountains so it is better to take something warm. Great Great Great experience!!!
Great big camp area. Plenty of open space. Limited shary areas. Mostly a gentle slope hill. River nearby for swimming and short walks. Well maintained. Toilets with power. Shelter with tables. Some tables in open areas. Head up to the top of the damn for a view. Can't swim in the damn unfortunately due to being a water supply for Melbourne. The space is huge!
Want to spend time totally off grid, so off grid you're hard pressed to find a mobile connection? A place to sling a hammock, read in shaded grounds and enjoy peace? This is the place. Access. Easy. Wheelchair friendly. Bring water and food as there are no facilities. Toilets... exellent.
Nice scenery, pristine wilderness. If you like carnivorous flies you will want to sell your house, leave your job and live here. Also no bins. Be warned! Anything you take you're gonna have to carry out, take bin bags and double bag that chicken carcass.
Nice camp site, we where there when it was supposedly booked out and it still felt reasonably spacious. Nice area with some good walks either from the camp ground or within about a half hour drive. Not perfect but not to far from it either.
Loads of different areas to camp, in a beautiful bushy setting. No working showers is a hassle if you are staying more than one night though. Remember to bring your own firewood! Would definitely stay here again, but for longer next time
Disappointing. The park is not well looked after. Walking tracks need some serious cleaning up. Don't waste your time going to the viewing platform down the bottom because you can't see a thing! It's all overgrown.
Would be a lot better nicer if it was cleaned up and got shower block working needs toilet upgrade shrubs and trees cut back looked after a little Maroondah dam is a complete mess
Huge amounts of space and there are flushing toilets with hot water available to wash up dishes. There are water taps around the camp ground not sure if it's safe to drink though.
Plenty of space available if you want to camp away from others. Toilets are close by for most spots too. The morning views are amazing from the tent and dam
Dozens of picnic tables/areas, park/gym amenity block , Rotunda/BBQ area. Camping areas with fire place. Walking/Hiking tracks. Swimming, Feet Tree Trail.
Decent spot, annoying ish to get to though. Bit confusing with signage and Google maps, but just keep going and you'll see it.
Beautiful scenery however the park was closed. Would be nice if there was a notice board or something to indicate closures.
Such a nice looking place, swings , toilets and walking tracks but it's not open to the public , not sure why
Nice spot with big undercover old shed with tables. Good for big groups. Bit pricey $28 a night.
Beautiful and scenic location. Ideal place to spend the weekend camping, Bush walking, bbq etc.
Great camp site. Great walking trails. No working showers but good toilets and fire pits etc
Closed for 3 years and none of the promised repairs were done. The place is just run down.
Paid, but worth spending camping time there. Big green place. Track place with a creek.
Wet and muddy camp ground. Lack of maintenance on showers and facilities.
Camping in a lovely park like setting with wide lawns and shady trees
Nice campsite not to far from Melbourne. Beautiful green campsites .
Great place to camp, wide open spaces, a running creek nearby.
Did I go there? Are you sure? Must have sleep walked.
Great camping area but don't forget the airoguard.
beutiful place. kids want to go back and camp
Not Werth paying $25 for run down no showers
Great family camping spot, a hidden gem.
Fantastic place for a family camping!
Very peaceful & beautiful
