Great location but really hit or miss pending on when you visit. This location is just off of the Dundas TTC Subway Station, on the highest floor of 10 Dundas Street East. It's surprising how many theatres are packed in here as you navigate from the building lobby up to the theatre lobby. The staff do a great job at checking for proof of vaccinations and being extra courteous and patient. This location has an orderly line system provided for being required to enter the theatre lobby. Additionally, you'll have to get in before purchasing the tickets on-site. The staff is pretty responsive in helping and letting customers know the usual about which theatre and what floor to be directed to. The building maintenance is pretty hit or miss and could be better. When we visited, the women's bathroom was in horrible shape near theatre #6. When we went, one of the stalls had no door, at least two stalls were not dealt with and were clogged. In another stall, water was just everywhere. It was an absolute mess and was disgusting. This was around 3pm on a Saturday. Unfortunately, the IMAX theatre #6 that we went to was overly loud for our viewing of DUNE. Our viewing experience was taken away by the sound quality and at some points, we could not even hear the actor's voices. Some of us had to put in earplugs/earbuds that we owned to muffle a bit of it. The theatre was clean though, and was nicely spaced out. Not sure if we would come back for IMAX, it wasn't worth the price, DUNE was pretty good though if you heard it. For those who want a more exclusive experience, the VIP addition is a must-try. The Cineplex Cinemas Yonge-Dundas and VIP offer a VIP experience for movie-goers that is worth the additional cost. The VIP section is well-designed, and the seats are comfortable, making the movie-watching experience enjoyable. The menu at the seats is a nice touch, and customers can order food and beverages from their seats. The staff member delivers the food and beverages to the seat, which is convenient for customers, and we ordered several beers for the group and a 'First Class' fishbowl, which was a great experience overall. Customers can order food and beverages from their seats, and a staff member will deliver the items to them. Even if you arrive late, you can still order outside and eat later or at the seats. The only downside is the location of the bathrooms outside the 19+ area, which may be inconvenient for some customers. Note, one downside of Cineplex is the new charge for online booking, which may be a turn-off for some moviegoers. However, there is a way to save some money by purchasing tickets in person. Another option is the CineClub Movie Subscription Program, which is available for $9.99 per month and waives the online booking fee. Members can enjoy one regular admission ticket every month with no expiration date. A limited number of tickets are also available for $9.99 for the same booking.
I recently watched a movie at this theater on a weeknight and was pleasantly surprised by the crowd. While I didn't interact much with the staff due to having a digital ticket and not ordering any food or drink, I found the seating in the theater to be comfortable and relatively clean, considering how busy it was. One of the major advantages of this theater is its unbeatable location, just steps away from Dundas Square and the hotel I stayed at. It offers great convenience, especially for tourists. Additionally, the building housing the theater also has other retailers, including a food court, which provides a more affordable alternative to the theater's food offerings, which I found to be quite expensive. Overall, despite the high pricing of food and drinks, the theater itself provided a comfortable movie-watching experience. Its prime location and the presence of additional amenities in the building make it a convenient choice for entertainment while in the area.
I was excited to enjoy the VIP tickets for MI: Dead Reckoning. To my surprise, the seats are not up to the mark. The seat which I paid for was very rough and it was a very bad experience for me during the whole movie. Moreover, the seats are not that enjoyable on recliners or comfortable. Though it has a good leg space and pretty wide seating arrangements, it is still not worth money. The food and drink services are good, and they have a good menu to decide upon. You can also enjoy the VIP lounge, which is pretty much similar to any pub style arrangement minus the crowd and loud songs. I thought I would not go for VIP experience again (which is not worth of money) rather than IMAX or standard ones. The seats in IMAX or standard Ines are more comfortable compared to the VIP seats.
Arrived for a VIP movie a bit early so we could eat in the lounge first. We arrived at 11:45 and were told they didn’t open until 12 and they would come by in 10-15 minutes to take our orders. 12:10-15 rolls around and there are masses of staff wandering around, but no one coming over. We went up to the bar to ask and were informed the kitchen wasn’t open yet. Then we were told we could go up to the bar to place our order, since the wait staff had failed to arrive yet. The level of miscommunication was ridiculous. If we had just been told from the start when the kitchen ACTUALLY opened we would have just gone to eat somewhere else. What the hell did we pay $25 PER PERSON for?!?!!
Went to see Mission Impossible in IMAX at Yonge Dundas Cineplex, and it was a pretty solid experience. The seats were really comfortable - nice bonus for long movies. The sound quality stood out as well, was really good. It added a lot to the immersive experience of the movie, especially in the action scenes. The IMAX screen size was a huge upgrade from the standard screens. Watched Fast and Furious here before (non-IMAX), and it wasn't the same - the screen felt small and didn't quite deliver that theatre feel. All in all, I think I'll be sticking with IMAX here for future movies. Definitely worth checking out if you're into a more immersive cinema experience.
Decent place to watch movies. Since there are many movie lounges, the sound travels through the walls. We watched a great movie, A Quite Place, and the experience could have been better for the price we paid for the VIP seatings. The couches were not comfortable at all, they don’t recline either. I would recommend going to the VIP experience at Shops at Don Mills location if that’s a big deal for you. The washrooms were dirty, very smelly. I would not recommend the place if you appreciate quality, but it would do for a movie night.
Such a horrible experience at the VIP movie theatre. Saw a huge argument at night about government issued ID. Four people were stopped at the entrance for not having physical IDs to enter the theatre. The Manager, I think his name was Peter, was being very unprofessional and a girl named June was very rude and disrespectful to those guys. I did not have a physical ID, I showed them my ID on my phone and they let me in. Its so sad that cineplex Manager ruined their night. Shame on you Peter. You could have done a better job
Such a great experience! This was my first time going to this Cineplex and I can easily say it was much nicer than others I’ve been to. Not only is it conveniently located, but it’s really easy getting tickets and entering in. All workers checked vaccination receipts correctly and wouldn’t let you enter without proof of vaccination. I went to see The French Dispatch which was located on the upper level. The theatre was kept quite clean and I had no complaints. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area!
I love this place. First of all Dundas square is very lively place and this Cineplex is at Dundas and Yonge street mostly into the hustle and bustle of the city where music, Yonge people and diversity can all be seen at one place. On top of everything it screens the Hindi movies as well. That is icing on cake. It houses 20+ Audi's and ambience inside the Cineplex is also great. Overall great experience. Good for families, couples, friends group of all ages. Love to go there whenever I can.
If you want to take an steam sauna at the same time watching a 4DX movie, then it is a good theatre. I went there to watch new Mission Impossible, but the salon was not breathable. Worst than that is it was not a one time problem. I went there two month ago to watch Fast X and the situation was same. It is funny that they charge you full price, but do not even provide a ventilation. I could not watch the movie and had to leave few times to get some air. It was disappointing.
Right downtown in the middle of Toronto social life with a lively public plaza at the entrance. Escalators whisk you to the multiple modern screens. Chairs are comfortable but not recliners. But who sleeps in a good movie? The only negative is the ugly exit that pushes you down to street level emptying on to Yonge St and away from the nearby active public plaza. Very disorienting and you feel like you are given a rude bum rush out of the building. Not a good last impression.
This is a great theatre in downtown Toronto at Yonge-Dundas Square. There are several theatre options: VIP is fun. Nice seats. Food and drink service in your seat. A fully licensed bar. There are a lot of pluses for this theatre. It’s also very clean. *** Wheelchair accessible. I attended a movie with a family member who is in a wheelchair. The elevator brings you up easily to the theatre. You can also stop by the food court for a quick bite to eat. Very easy to maneuver.
I took my 1 month old to see Barbie. I liked that they lowered the volume and provided change tables, didn't see a trash can though. The stroller parking was a disaster - I understand people don't want their strollers stolen or want to keep their baby in them but the entire section when entering was full of strollers. Perhaps they should have parking outside the theatre. Overall it was a good way to get out of the house and I recommend it for those with babies.
This was my very first VIP Cineplex. It changed how I went to movies, but I hadn't been back to this specific VIP in years. I still love VIP Cineplex. Arrived, hung out in the lounge, got a drink, ordered food, watched a movie in a very comfortable chair. Sadly not a power recliner, but still very comfortable. Food was easy and fast and pretty good. The staff was all very friendly and competent. Downside, straw in my water that I didn't ask for.
Great place at an amazing location. It is at Yonge and Dundas square which is the most eventful place at all times. Even if you go to view late show, it never disappoints you. The crowd is great and energy is always high. The only thing I could mention that I think could improve is the seating. Seats were too close and if you sit in the middle, it feels cramped up. But rest was amazing!
So many escalators to get to theater. Once your there it’s gigantic, many screens and more escalators. The staff was polite, welcomed and thanked me for coming in. I find the concession is slow even when it’s not busy. I recommend trying 4DX at least once during an exciting action movie. (be cautious if you have motion sickness) A nice theater to go to if your near Eaton Centre mall
One of the few Cineplexes in city where you shall find multi linguistics movies running almost every day. This Cineplex has the rare 4DX theatres which is an experience of its own kind. Rest all are pretty much similar to other Cineplex in Toronto and GTA. I shall definitely recommend this place for movies for the amazing service by staff and well maintained theatres
I always go to this Cinema to watch movies. It's conveniently located at the corner of Dundas and Yonge Street where the subway is. I watched the James Bond movie "No Time To Die" in the Imax Theatre. The place, as always, is clean and tidy. The washroom too. I think the management is really serious in keeping this place in a great shape. Highly recommended.
In the heart of downtown Toronto. The cinema has food, many theatres, and right next to the subway station. The staff are professional and friendly with facilities on site. They hold a variety of mainstream and indie films. Next to the Eaton center, it is accessible with an esclator and elevator. Overall, it's a great place to watch movies.
overrated location. premade popcorn in bag that is not even warm. it is cold and tasteless even with their butter. the patrons visiting the theatre aren't that great. the staff is rude which I don't blame them for. the screens are only big in some auditoriums. the imax is not even a real imax and the VIP does not have recliners.
Experienced the vip tickets today and loved the way they treat.the best part is you can enjoy your meals and drink, and lot to choose from the menu, nice and clean and very comfortable seats. And i prefer this location because there are a lot of activities before and after the movie time friendly staff and polite. Thank you
VIP garbage. Staff stand around and talk and do not serve the customers unless you yell at them to break up their gab session. Talked to manager Peter a waste of time. So much for VIP treatment. They want you to pay extra but they stand around and yak by the cash register. If you do not believe me go there and find out.
Parking: underground Eaton Center or Street parking (hard to find though) You have to take 3 flights of escalators to get to the theather. It’s a smaller theather with limited food options but there is a food court on the 2nd floor. The theather it self is clean! The bathrooms are small. Overall good theather.
It’s right across the yonge dundas square subway station which makes it very convenient. It’s on the upper floors so you have to take the escalators. There is Starbucks in the first floor if you want that before the movie. Usually a crowded place as there are other businesses in the building as well.
Buyer beware… do not book row G in IMAX. All of the other rows are tiered but the row in front of G is only a couple of inches (rather than six or so) lower than G. Bottom 15% of screen blocked with no one in front of you. If someone sits there their head goes about a third up the screen.
Clean, decent location. Servers at the food counter are well trained and kind. Theatre seats are comfortable and the temperature is nice. There are booster seats easily accessible and plenty of workers to get help. Much nicer than the Varsity location.
Watched a regular movie (not imax or VIP) and the picture quality was horrible. I had to squint my eyes to clearly capture the details of the movie. This cinema is extremely outdated. Regular cinemas in 3rd world countries are WAYYY better than this.
VIP is not worth it. Sound quality not up to the mark and non-reclining seats make it a bummer considering most VIP theaters have reclining seats. Infact in US regular screens have recliners for cheaper ticket pricing. IMAX screen is pretty good.
Its a nice experience here . 24 immersive screens with 4DX and 3D screens here. A nice food court having Harvey and fruit juice etc . Cons : THEY DONT PROVIDE ITS OWN PARKING. You have to take your own paid parking outside the mall or nearby .
Overall nice movie theater in Dundas area. Loved how there is a food court below the cinema serving bubble tea, pad Thai, ice cream, sandwiches and more. You can bring up to the movies and enjoy and there is a bar above. Kind people and staff.
We took our children to their first movie . It was a great experience. Washroom area was very clean. Lights were dimmed and volume reduced for our daytime movies ie which was perfect. Reserved seating made it easy to decide where to sit.
It's a very popping location, often busy as in the middle of yonge and dundas square with Eaton Center located in close walkable proximity. Service is quick and fast. It is located on the yop floor so take the elevator all the way up.
The volume was so loud in theatre 2 during Oppenheimer. It was difficult to actually hear the dialogue. And there was a lot of dialogue. Not impressed. Maybe the intention is to drown it out and then there's the thunderous soundtrack.
Better to use escalators than elevator..you will wait for it forever. You can buy tickets at vending machines. At the bar there are many options available, even hot drinks. The theater itself was great, we enjoyed the movie!
Went in there to see the live HD Opera performance. the staff were nice and was ushered into the VIP section which was full of boxes with no neat markings. The washrooms, the halls and the theaters themselves were clean.
I watched a movie at the VIP theater. The place was clean, and the interior design of the theater was great. Also, the atmosphere of the place was ambient. Overall, I recommend this place for a nice cinema experience.
I took my girl out for our anniversary in the VIP section. We ordered the beef tacos, which arrived cold, but I didn’t think much of it. I woke up at 4:30AM with severe food poisoning! BEWARE OF THEIR TACOS!!
Theatre needs some love, wallpaper is falling off the walls, and when I went to buy concessions, they only had popcorn. No candy, chocolate nothing, also looked like they have had nothing for sometime.
24 theatres at the same spot. Always releases great and broad selection of films including vintage and classics. I wish it had outtakes but the VIP lounge is pretty dope. Great food and service.
The theater has a convenient central location, which is a plus. However, the overall experience was just... meh, nothing exceptional to highlight. Decent option for a casual movie night.
Clean and very comfortable chairs , even the washrooms were a step above the competition especially for such a busy location, did I mention the chairs were super comfortable and soft?
Went to see the gran tourismo movie in 4DX didn’t disappoint I don’t know why but this cinema was more advanced than some other cinemas like silver city in Richmond hill and Newmarket
Extremely clean for a large theatre and especially for one right downtown. Fast moving line-ups and staff are friendly and efficient. Love the giant movie quotes on the floors...
Love the location! Seats are comfy and tickets are reasonably priced! Love their 4DX and VIP sections too. I wish they added some recliners at least in the VIPs.
Great personable food service. Sound, screens are clear and perfect volume. Seats are very comfortable and have enough leg room for people to pass through.
Love this cineplex location! It's one of the most well maintained that I've seen. It's also absolutely huge and the staff are constantly working super hard
Super comfortable, big screens, nice staff. Don’t tell them but I brought my own food one time without them noticing. Just amazing experience all around.
Great cinema experince. Place can be bit more cleaner and chairs can be bit more comfortable. Some food outlets were closed when we finished at 9.00 pm
the screen is small. If you sit in the last row,it looks more like an 85-inch TV rather than a theatre. But for the price it's good and it's clean.
It’s an ok location. The building seems old even though it is relatively new. I wish they had more glasses and sun light. Not the best location.
I really enjoy this theatre. Can't really complain about the prices. Everyone knows we're grossly over charged for the snacks at any theatre.
Nice location, nice ambiance. Theater is huge with a great selection. Not to busy. Theater was clean and comfortable. Happy with my visit!
My first VIP movie experience ( I've obviously been living under a rock ) I very much enjoyed the time spent. Can't wait to do it again !
This is a huge place across from the Eaton Centre with all the special formats including VIP, IMAX, AVX, 4X and DBox.
we paid $13 to watch beautiful people have an existential crisis. it was worth it. the pink was worth it.
Cineplex provides a great movie-watching experience with modern theaters, technology, and snacks.
Centrally located and easily accessible via TTC. it opens up right into the building.
