Myself and my younger sister went to see a movie tonight (9.30pm session). Upon entry it seemed to be just us but then a small group of extremely loud guys came in. We tried to ignore them. Staff came as it seemed there was some issue before the movie began and the group left only to return when the movie started and this time their group multiplied. What was 3 guys turned into around 7 guys. They were talking, yelling, singing throughout the movie. I told them to be quiet multiple times. It got so bad I went out to find a staff member to complain to, but there was no staff members around. So we just had to sit there missing half of the movie because they couldnt be quiet. Upon the film ending the group tried to talk to us, grabbing us, and making us feel extremely uncomfortable. There were no staff around to help us, we were quite scared. They surrounded our car once we got in, one guy even tried to open our door and began yelling at us to open the door after I locked it. I have never had such a shocking and scary experience. My younger sister was scared for her life. Hoyts you need to do better. Staff should be around, and there should be security around as well. Especially for late night sessions. Fair to say after this experience we wont be coming back at all.

Great screen and audio, seats weren't too bad. Unfortunately, the cinema experience for our family will probably become a memory of the past, purely due to the prices. Based on us being the only people present in our screening, I suspect it's probably a similar story for other families too. We were absolutely disgusted at the prices of snacks and drinks available. Since we already had some snacks, we opted to buy 3x 600ml gatorades for drinks, thinking they at least would be reasonably priced. Wrong. Over $22 for three 600ml drinks. With $20 of snacks, 3 drinks and movie tickets, one of which was a concession, we were already over $100 for the night excluding fuel getting there. Movie theatres - get with the times of what you're competing with, instead of wondering why your cinemas are empty with people waiting for movies to show on Netflix.

I absolutely loved it, especially the service from a young lady named April. Firstly when I called, April answered my questions but, most exciting she actually answered the phone which 3 other Cinemas I called didn't , so she gets 100 stars for that and April is very calm on the phone, she answered all my many questions and made sure she checked to see what I was asking was correct , then went i went into the cinema, she looked after both myself and my sister with good pricing tickets and lovely popcorn and she was just ever so polite and nice and it is a Rarity to find such good service these days . So well done to your Cinemas for employing such a great young lady. Well done April Thanking you for making our experience wonderful we will patron Hoyts Cinema again

This is my favourite hoyts as the cinema has more space between rows which means you dont get popcorn on your head, the seats recline further than any other hoyts cinemas ive been to and when someone in the row wants to go to the loo you dont have to put your seat up mid movie to let them pass- there's heaps of space! It was quiet - just us and another 2 people in our movie last thurs. Clean, good covid check in process and bathrooms are plentiful and tidy. Happy to be back! Bit confused though by the sign on the girls bathroom door though- 10 guests only in this area. Do I need to take a number like at the deli or am I supposed to knock on all the stalls and take a headcount?

I entered this establishment to see the newly released Venom, I was able to buy large amounts of Popcorn and Drinks for my viewing experience. I was unable to use the buttons within the inside of the seat as my large body seemed to have blocked it, if the buttons on the INSIDE of the seat could PLEASE be moved elsewhere I would be oh so happy, I am too large for these seats. For the movie, it was quite well made, the main actress reminded me of my ex wife which made me cry, as I was leaving the cinema I was laughed at by the teenagers attending. I had the same old trouble of sitting in the toilets so I accidentally made a mess. #MoveTheButtons2018

Have never really had a bad experience at Greensborough. Always plenty of staff at the Candy Bar, but at times they don't have anyone at the ticket confirmation/check stand (I've been able to sinply walk through and go to whatever movie, even though I did have tickets online). Candy Bar pricing is as expectedly horrifying, would definitely recommend going to K-mart or Coles nearby for Snacks and drinks. Recliners are very comfortable make the movie experience much nicer. Ticket prices seem to just be going up and up, nearly at gold class pricing which seems crazy. Overall I can't complain, it's a cinema where you get exactly what you expect.

Nice place if you don't mind the wait. The seat upgrade is good and has definitely made it worth going. On the other hand, it was almost half an hour past the time the movie was due to start that they were still playing commercials, movie shorts etc. It would do a few commercials. Fair enough. Then it would do a few movie shorts. That is also fine and I enjoy them. Just about when you think the movie is about to start, It would repeat the process. I think it did it three times. We were bored out of our brains by the time the movie started. Hoyts, if you are going to make people wait that long, please make that public.

Not related to the cinema experience. I went with my 13 year old child to HOYTS Greensborough for the Ben & Jerry's ice cream but my kid was not allowed past the entry point to choose her own ice cream as she only have had 1 dose of the vaccine. While I understand that everyone eligible has to be fully vaccinated in the cinema watching a movie as it's an enclosed environment. Not letting a 13 year old kid in to choose her own ice cream flavours just 5 steps into your premises is a bit harsh in my opinion. Maybe have your check point just a bit further in after the Ben & Jerry's counter?

Until last year I had never been to the cinema on my own. I moved to Eltham in May 2018. Going on your own is the only way. Greensborough is a terrific cinema centre. 5 minutes drive from home. Plenty of parking, your vehicle is safe, lots of food options and the cinemas themselves are just beautiful Intimate and comfortable. The recliners are just sensational as are the ledges to put your popcorn and drinks on. Just be careful when you recline the seat to watch the movie. Its so comfortable there is a real danger you will nod off to sleep and miss the movie.

  • Firecracker

The very accessible entrance for a wheelchair. However, it needs to fix the spot/location in a way that people with disabilities can enjoy watching a movie without hurting their necks sitting down near the digital screen. I think if you can make the entrance to a cinema from the back cinema, not from the bottom near to the screen which is an obstacle to go up. then there will be a good platform in the back. my voice may not hear or my advice may not be considered, but think the way serves all kinds of people who live in GB.

  • Karmen Mezei

To be honest, the recliner chairs weren't as comfortable as they look. When in normal position its neither straight nor in a good angle, so you need to lean forward with back unsupported to sit straight. If you recline the chair, your head's to far back to watch comfortably. The screen was too far and too small and for the size of the cinema. Honestly, would not visit again. For the price of the tickets etc..Plenty Valley and Epping Readings is much better value, with bigger screens.

  • Ashley Matthews

Saw Nightmare Alley on 23/1/2022 when the (thankfully false) fire alarm went off at the end of our film. Not only did no staff members enter our screening to tell us what was going on, an audience member had to leave to go and ask. When the alarm was finally turned off, the film was not rewound (the least the cinema could do considering much of the final scene was interrupted by the alarm) and no staff apologised for the inconvenience. Highly unprofessional

Superfast and friendly service. Crazy comfortable chairs and great atmosphere. Screen size varies so check which cinema is playing what before you commit to a blockbuster in one of the small cinemas. Everything is online now so lines are non existent and the new food service system means two lots of waiting but no long lines which is prefered by me. I prefer to keep moving. Especially with young kids. You can also pre-order food which I haven't done.

I am a long time visitor of Hoyts Greensborough. I have left every visit more than satisfied with the experience. Hoyts Greensborough has by far THE comfiest chairs of any cinema I’ve ever been to. The staff are impeccable. Particularly Lara, who is a worker in which I have had the pleasure of interacting with on frequent occasions. She goes above and beyond to satisfy customers. Greensborough Hoyts is my go to cinema love it! No complaints <3

  • Marie Eastman

Candy bar pricing is expensive, and the lack of signage for the prices is annoying. The cinemas are fine and the reclining chairs are nice and comfortable. After an awful experience here on a 40+ degree day when the air con was not working and sitting in the hot cinema was almost unbearable, the manager, after many complaints by numerous patrons, gave complimentary tickets for another session, which was appreciated.

  • CJ Gribben

More expensive than Reading Cinema, Epping, but that's Hoyts pricing, not a fault of this location. Have been overcharged at the candy bar a couple of times by staff - just make sure you check things aren't charged for twice, as you should do anywhere (we're all human). Discounting issues from many years ago (with aging and quality, non issues now), it's basically a positive experience every visit.

  • Jim McArdle

Terrible service, antagonised my mates and I and made us feel useless. Employees where harassing us about id and when gave proof of Id, we were laughed at. Feel completely disrespected and workers should be disgusted. Will never go back here and would never recommend it. This was a Sunday night around 9’oclock. And also $6.70 for a stock standard sprite... like are you deadset or what.....

  • Ngoc Truong

For a first time customer, there should be a sign to show direction to the entrance. I had a movie session at 8.50pm Tuesday and tried 4 entrance, all closed even the entrance below the big Hoyts sign. I was early but ended up late for the movie and waited more than 5mins for the phone to be picked up. Other than that, the rest was fine. Easy checked in and clean cinema.

  • Robyn Major

Was so disappointed with the cinema as my partner and I went yesterday to see...killer of the flower moon which goes for 3hrs just after 5 minutes of the movie started the put the air-conditioning on which was good as it was hot in there and stuffy but after 15 minutes it was off for the duration of the movie..it was hot and very uncomfortable so disappointed .

  • HauntedMound2012

Have been here a couple times, male workers are very nice and welcoming but every-time ive gone the female workers are very rude and passive aggressive and have no costumer service skills and gave dirty looks. Like the incliner seats. Popcorn is good. Dont know how some girls get jobs here if they just gossip to each other and ignore the customer.

  • Michael Sterling

The positives are the upgrade to seating is great, it is always easy to park, the staff are generally very good. The reason for reduction of stars is the ads at the start of the movie, we arrived for a 6.30 movie and had to endure over 30 mins of ads at the start before the movie started. I don’t mind some ads, but 30 mins worth is ridiculous.

  • Rachel Winter

They have mums and babies sessions, called "prams at the pix" which run on a Wednesday morning. These are great, they leave the house lights up and the sound is lowered a little.the staff are friendly and helpful. They also allowed me to bring in a cappuccino from the coffee shop in the centre. Plenty of room for prams in cinema one.

  • Pamella Seton

The staff here were friendly and helpful. I was attempting to pay for my tickets through Optus perks and the website was not processing my payment. Management honoured the discount I would have received if the site was able to process the payment and that just made my day. Excellent customer service and honouring of alliance deals

  • Christopher Lee

It's alright, the food is kind of pricey and getting smaller. The staff is usually friendly except for when it's newbies working the register. The food is good, popcorn is evenly salted and the choc-tops are always a go to. The chairs they have are absolutely amazing and the car park even though small, is very well placed

  • Hoofprints AndPaws

The most chill cinema. The staff are adorable. India and Tegan especially are the sweetest people who really are just out here trying to get you your popcorn and drink efficiently. Points for them. A raise, even. Update: went there again. Staff is fantastic as usual and makes the whole experience way more fun.

  • Steve

Outstanding service today. We had some issues booking tickets online today and Peter had no hesitation in assisting my wife and I expediently resolve our issues, over and above our expectations. Couldn’t be more complimentary of the service provided from Peter and Hoyts Greensborough. Well done and thank you!

  • K Cha

I haven’t visited this cinema in awhile, and I would have to say things have gone down hill in regard to their comfort. The seats are completely falling apart and the amount of dust is yuck! The team totally forgot to clean the cinema before everyone was seated also, so they came in when the previews were on.

  • Melinda Mawdsley

Pretty comfy seating and spacious. Would have given 5 stars but i was disappointed in audio being abnoxiously loud to the point where the cinema itself was rattling. It was so ridiculously loud that it was painful on my eardrums, gave me a headache and i didnt enjoy the experience i paid for. #IMNOTDEAF!

  • Christine Hristovski

Just got out of See how they Run. It's a who dunit but not an easy watch as the projector obviously wasn't working properly. The screen went blank twice during the movie for a few minutes each time. We let the staff know but they didn't care. Others walked out before it finished waste of time and money.

  • Peter Phillips

Good cinema. Supported by good restaurants, fast food providers with a range of cuisine including a gourmet ice cream provider. Of course cinema food is extremely expensive. Don’t forget RACV members can buy discounted tickets and candy bar vouchers. Parking is plentiful; just check parking signs.

  • S Cheng

I really like this cinema because it is so under rated. The cinema itself is very nice and cosy and most importantly clean! The chairs re lap reclining which makes it very comfortable to relax in and enjoy the movie. Very good experience! The staff were also very nice and friendly when serving.

  • Julian Howden

Disappointed with the experience at Greensborough Hoyts. The screen seemed to be very dirty or dusty. There was also damage to the bottom edge of the screen which had a number of ripples in it. This was distracting, especially when the area was lighter in tone. Cinema 3 Greensborough Hoyts

  • aussienick01 A

Much like every Cinema everywhere the service is nice, but the product are pricey. (Don't go to the candy bar) the seats are very comfortable, they recline and the facing of seats is far enough so that you can be the one guy who talks in the cinema and no one will hear you that match.

  • Chloe Reiner

I had the pleasure of speaking to Ava at my trip to hoyts last week, and she was absolutely brilliant with her service! So kind and helpful, and the whole hoyts crew did a fantastic job at welcoming my family through and caring for us as it was our first time visiting, thank you!

  • amatiel488

Staff are all very helpful and friendly and attend to customers promptly. Cinema seating are recliner chairs which are super comfortable and easy to use. Everything is always clean and ready to use whenever I come here to watch movies. One of my favourite places to watch a movie!

  • EKREM CAGALA

A decent cinema with recliner seating. Convenient ticket purchasing via counter and/or electronic ticket machine which also allows snacks purchases. Not enough crowd monitoring though, as I watched a movie and had peoples phones ring or loud groups talking throughout the movie.

  • Trent Brown

Went here to see Dune. The screen was crinkled and it seemed the lens of the projector was dirty because the entire film had a dappled look, especially when background was white/ light. Undermined what should have been a visually striking film. Seats and sound were good.

  • Les Barnes

When did they introduce beer to the candy bar at the cinema? This is awesome. Great seats and clean too. Just need to police the morons that insist on checking their phones, sending texts or such like DURING the movie as the little white screen is a pain in the arse

  • Brett Jackson (bj)

It's an OK Hoyts, the picture and sound were good. The cinemas, I think, are a little narrow and long. The new recliner seating tiers have fixed this a little, but I'd probably still go to my local (Northland) over this (their session of The Gentlemen was later).

  • Lisa

Love the upgrade to reclining chairs and way more space. Staff are fairly friendly, I hope everyone takes it easy on them with the current restrictions. Cinemas need a bit more cleaning in between screenings, usually find popcorn and spilled soft drinks.

  • jamie mahon

Staff were friendly and nice. The cost of beverages and popcorn was overpriced, over $20 for a large popcorn and drink. I prebooked seats for my family of which 2 out of 7 had not been cleaned. The audio and video quality of the cinema was excellent.

  • Nathan Trevaskis

Watched the Avengers Infinity War here and i found the staff to be great and friendly as well as the reclining seats to be comfortable. The only negative is i found the self serve ticket scanner a bit hard to use so went to the main desk instead.

  • Sarah Megs

Great cinemas. way better then Village cinemas, because Hoyts have recliner chairs and are comfortable. you press the buttons on the inside of the chair to move it. student, concession and companion cards are accepted. it's inside the plaza.

  • Kat Lodder

Super comfy lounge chairs, and large cinema screens. The sound wasn't that great though, Could have been louder and crisper. Maybe a speaker upgrade is needed, especially for movies like Top Gun Maverick which is what we saw there.

  • Axial Cecal

They upgraded the seats but as of late this is the only positive (and location for me personally). Service has gone down hill, and those that work there have gotten lazy. Its a terrible situation and one can only hope they improve.

  • Nic Nolan

Agreed with the other reviewer, Watched dune in Cinema 1 and the screen had a very dirty looking screen. I assume the lamp on the projector needs changing. Shame as it was hard to appreciate a visually stunning movie like that

  • Glenn Smith

The overall experience was good. The movie was great, staff were lovely but by far the most salt in popcorn I've ever had. Almost couldn't eat it let alone finish it. Very concerning for health reasons.

  • April Blanchard

Always have loved this cinema! Clean and quiet. Great the tickets are getting cheaper but then yous go and bump the price of food and snacks right up! yous need to compete price wise a bit more. …

  • Amorenda Bridgland

It's been ages since I went to the cinema and I was impressed. Massive seat upgrades, very spacious and with reclining capabilities. Ooh la la. The movie was average but the experience was pleasant.

  • apar mehta

I always had the best experience at hoyts but this time it was worse recliner chairs were not working and the cinema 2 had worst sound system was hearing twice the same thing which was the worst.

  • Claire Pain

Lots of fun, the feature sucked (jurassic world dominion) but the popcorn was great and the seats were comfortable. My sister and I had a good laugh at the film though!! (And it isn't a comedy)

  • A Professional Reviewer

Great place to watch a movie! All theatres have reclining chairs with large spaces for everyone. Most movies are considerably cheap however some movies can have an unexpectedly inflated price.

  • John Cauchi

Got no idea of how to put a club sandwich together had 2 bites and left it and the short black was so bitter and had a burnt taste obviously the coffee machine hadn't been cleaned properly

  • Michael Letcher

Nice cinema, the candy meals are not much to be desired. I love getting some choc tops, drinks and a pop corn. From Village they have a $26 deal for all of that. Nothing like that here.

  • Wade Lamberth

$90 for a family of 3 (seats and one medium combo). Then spent 25 min watching ads after the movie was supposed to start. No wonder its been over a year since we went to the cinemas

  • Christopher “Kraden” McKenna

Nice staff, good screens for a medium sized cinema. Their location inside the ball is great with food, snacks and parking nearby. Comfortable seats with more leg room than expected!

  • Sam Redman

Love the new reclining chairs. Smaller theatres now so book ahead, and if going at night if can get really cold so dress appropriately. I even saw someone bring blanket and pillow!

  • Harley Ryan

Extra comfy seats and good quality sound and large cinemas, only thing is that the tickets cost 17 dollars! Which when you have a family is quite expensive, overall great cinema.

  • R R

Don’t go to Cinema 2 the sound system is not at all good. Place is good but sounds is not good. I fell watching at home on Netflix will be give much better sound than cinema 2

  • Astrid Lima

The tables and armrests in the cinema I was in were very gross! Looked liked they had weeks of grease and dirt built up and had never been wiped down. Yuck!!

  • Pooia Lalbakhsh

A very nice place, surrounded by many restaurants and a small cafe. The seats are comfy, staff are friendly and helpful. All in all if was a good experience.

  • Walter Shepherd

This cinema has very comfortable seats and have powered recline. Very nice. Cinemas appeared clean and comfortable. One of the nicest cinemas I've been to.

  • P B

The seats are comfy but the deterioration of the fabric is horrible & the smell in the cinema smelt like mould. But other than that we had a good time.

  • Imogen

Comfy chairs to sit in that recline, generally clean, average snacks, good range of films...not really sure what else to say... recommend attending

  • Glenn Eaton

Nice smaller multi screen cinema. Recliner seats are excellent. Still a top place to see movies, and they have really cheap tickets for seniors.

  • Hayley Young

Prams at the Pics is great for mums as the lights stay dim but it does get busy and can be hard to find space for your pram if you're not early.

  • Glenn Porthouse

This place is really showing it's age. My seat was broken, very uncomfortable. Not very clean either. Don't think I'll be coming back.

  • Don Ewart

Great recliner seats. Quality sound and projection. Staff generally friendly. A good suburban cinema complex with ample free parking.

  • Niko Xes - Rinku

Really expensive food, too loud, flashing causing me seizures and gross toilets. The staff did give me a caption device on request.

  • Kunjal Patel

DBOX experience was great , make sure you read the safety rules before you take kids as not all ages kids are allowed in DBOX.

  • Pippa Podrigues

Cinema 6 was filthy. The arm rests felt greasy in the third row so we ended up moving to seat that weren’t allocated to us.

  • Angie B

Excellent service and great to have sessions for seniors and Prams at the Pix. Seats are fairly worn given its recent Reno.

  • Kristen Pieper (Pnuts4Dogs11)

Love the recliner seats so you can kick back in comfort whilst snacking on popcorn and candy. Friendly staff. Clean venue.

  • Leanne Fisher

Best experience I've had watching a movie love those recliners, wish they had them where I'm from. Movie was good too lol

  • Ann Cox (Annie)

A delightful cinema with fabulous recliner seats, drinks and snacks, with restaurants nearby. Accessable seating options.

  • Tony Patterson

Very good and very polite staff and it's first time visiting the centre would love to see more of the shops . …

  • Christinne Quix

Hoyts are the best movie theatres. Great move offering 10% comfortable reclining chairs. Greensborough nice venue.

  • Adam Turco

Since the cinema got upgraded it is superb. All normal seats recline and plenty of leg space. Good job Hoyts!

  • Bryan Kearney

Staff great, cinema was clean. The seats are a bit worn and need updating , but the recline function worked

  • Amy Harris

We went and seen a good movie the chairs were comfy the staff were helpful and worth the money will be back

  • ronald hoppe

Comfy recliners, great screen and sound quality. Not happy with empty soap dispensers in the Mens toilet.

  • Michael Mack

Great sound and screen image, seats beginning some maintenance, but were working with out issues

  • Angelina Mossuto

Great members deal. Sign up at service desk to get free refill on popcorn. Good family vibes.

$18 for medium popcorn and medium Pepsi, was way too expensive.... .. seats were very comfy!

  • Tilly Zac

Love the recliner chairs, always good service. Just wish the popcorn didn't cost the earth!

The service was good, however there were a few seats broken in the cinema we were in.
