"Hello Everyone, So I wanted to make a review on here because I worked at the Movie Tavern for over a year"
"Well we just got here and not going so great so far"
For the ultimate movie theater experience I highly recommend this place. Whether you go as a group w/family & friends, date night, or treat yourself & catch a show this place has plenty of amenities to offer. In addition to your usual lobby treats (candy, soft drinks, popcorn, etc) they serve alcoholic beverages from a well stocked bar, & a variety of delightful dining dishes ranging from burgers, deli sandwiches, & pizza, to BBQ chicken wings, Mexican food, & specialty salads right to your seat. They also screen available 3D versions, (& my most recent visit there with my 10yr old granddaughter to see Avatar; The State of Water & an EXCELLENT choice in viewing this picture) & limited, or specially select cities for theatrical &/or early release movies, as well as special events like live concerts or other fan related viewings. I brought several members of my family here to see Coldplay's 2022 Music of the Spheres World Tour concert that was broadcast live via satellite from Buenos Aires. This was announced publicly for ticket sales exclusively from the band themselves on their website. It was shown only in selected cities & theaters world wide & ran live 1 night only but was also made available to view the following night as a replay for fans whose schedule didn't permit attendance on the night before. In any case all of my visits here have been wonderful experiences & extremely enjoyable in every way while the nicest ppl are there to greet & serve & assure you in having the best time possible
2 stars instead of 1 because the manager Chris was awesome and knows how to handle upset customers well. With that being said, nothing will change my mind to come back to Movie Tavern ever again. Online ordering of food via app/phone is completely contradictory considering the opening credits containing the CEO and owner of Movie Tavern explicitly asks all patrons to silence and turn off their phones prior to the movie starting. It is highly distracting for your neighbors to be tiddling with their phones even for the first part of the movie. Now that servers aren't taking orders at the seats, they absolutely do not care about you at all. They do not care to be discreet and quiet, they don't care if you got what you ordered, and they definitely do not care to bring you everything you need to enjoy your meal (i.e. napkins and eating utensils). I should not have to leave in the middle of the movie I paid for to hunt down someone to get me everything I've already paid for. Red buttons are a "thing of the past" (despite recent renovations to add plushy seats, red buttons are still there and active) so they have no way of ensuring customers are content with their meals. Not to mention the absolute lack of awareness of patrons bringing INFANTS into the theater who do nothing but cry and disrupt the movie because of its loud and sudden noises. Obviously, the employees do not care enough to enforce the "please escort disruptive children from the theater" rule.
Overall a horrible experience! Do not waste your money! They let all of their servers go during Covid which is understandable, but now that audiences are back to the theaters after covid is pretty much gone, they have decided that they like saving money of not hiring any servers. You can still order food, but you have to do it through an website that did not work on my phone, then I tried the app which stalled multiple times, then I had to get back out of my seat and walk all the way to the lobby to order food. What a horrible system! Also you have to pay before hand and type in all of your credit card info in the dark while the movie is starting when in the past you could just pay at the end with your server. To top it all off, they forgot my drink and I asked the server and he never brought it, so I had to get up during the movie and go ask for my drink because the table buttons don't work anymore and you have no way of contacting the servers!! Let's talk about picture and sound quality as well, the theater picture was way too dark, I know this as a visual expert, and the colors were off. Also the sound of the movie was turned down way too low, it should have been booming but it was just not. Do not go here and waste your money until they decide to go back to the way things were in the past with good attentive servers and staff and regular food ordering!
Hello Everyone, So I wanted to make a review on here because I worked at the Movie Tavern for over a year. While working there, I had a wonderful time, there were times it was stressful and overwhelming but overall it was great. Most of the staff are chill af, even the managers. Whenever I needed someone to talk to, they were there to hear you out. To the people that "miss taking your order" From what they told me, when COVID 19 hit, they had to get rid of it and just bring your food/drinks to your seats, for you to order now you can order at the food order station next to the box office or at the bar in lobby. To the people that say "well if you can bring our food then why can't you just take our order?" Because we might either misplace it or get it messed up, also we (especially me) always try to wear gloves whenever we handle the food/drinks. I'm truly sorry to the people who don't get y'alls food/drinks, but if that ever does happen, please go to one of the runners or managers, they'll help you out as much as they can. Anyways I hope to the people that gave Movie Tavern a bad review to give it another chance, but if you don't that's okay too. We're not perfect, but we do try. Have a good day and Happy Easter -Kenzie Ps. If there is any other issues, please let me know.
Well we just got here and not going so great so far. Very unfriendly staff. Bought are tickets and guy seemed annoyed to even be there. Didn't say a word to us. Don't have menus said there's on outside in the lobby on the wall. Usually like coming here but this is not starting out great at all. Well would change it to zero if I could. After waiting 20 min for a server I asked where I can order. Said the bar. No one working there, I said I've been waiting 20 min qnd no one showed. Then was informed the service buttons are no longer in service. Maybe something to say before hand. Have had ZERO service since being here. Never had such a terrible experience at the movies in my life.So after even more I just decided to get a refund. Manager was called up. Asked nothing, didn't acknowledge me like the rest of the employees, no hey what's going on what was the problem. Nothing. Just gave me my money back without a good bye or anything and lost me for life. Then you look around EVERY SINGLE employee is sitting around with their faces buried in there phones. I will never be back which sucks because I used to love coming here. Loved the movies and the experience. Was trying to take my son to share that with him and this has been the absolute worst outing experience I've ever had.
This is my girlfriend's and I go to movie theater. Affordable movies, comfortable chairs, not too crowded, and they have food and drinks. *Update - 7 months later* We still love coming here. Winfred and Colton make coming an awesome experience when walking through the door. The customer service has been phenomenal since the beginning and they make the experience so much better. Price - the price is on par if not cheaper than other mobile theaters. Also they have $6 movies on Tuesdays. Alcoholic beverages - their alcoholic beverages are really good and we bought this big beer mug for I believe $26 when we first started coming here. They switch out the mug every time we come and the refills are only $15 plus tax. This big mug gets us both riding the wave (buzzed) and it is really good. I added a picture of the mug with my wife's IPhone 14 Pro Max next fo it for size comparison. Parking - Decent. Its right next to the mall but it does not use mall parking. It has an up top parking and down low covered parking and open parking. All parking is free. Occupancy - movies can surely sell out here so it's nice being around common movie lovers. However, when the hype dies down, you can also have a movie theater all to yourself with 6 people.
The theater itself was clean and the seats were comfortable. I like that it was less expensive than AMC. Our experience this evening was not great, thanks to the "order from your seat" program. Being new, we had trouble finding the theater, so arrived just before the movie (previews) was due to start. We decided to try out the order delivery to your seat. Pretty simple, 2 regular lemonades, a regular (large) popcorn and a box of Dots. Not rocket science. Ten minutes AFTER the "delivery time", I got up, missing an important point in the movie, which had started, to go find out where our order was. The bartender promised to figure out what happened. I went back to my seat. Ten minutes later, someone wanders in with a pair of jumbo root beers, a jumbo popcorn, wondering if they were ours. Nope, I replied, we ordered lemonades. Ten minutes later, someone different wanders in with two jumbo lemonades, but no popcorn and no Dots. Ten minutes later, a jumbo popcorn and Dots showed up. The popcorn was stale and most of it was crumbs. I'm not sure why they thought bringing us jumbo items would make up for not getting our order right the first time. But, it didn't. All in all, I'm not sure I'll go back.
I am an avid AMC Dine In girly. But, I went to this Movie Tavern because it was one of the few theaters offering the re-release of Coraline. My seat and seat controls were dirty.. Some sticky substance. Ordered nachos to be delivered at 7:10. They weren’t delivered until 7:30ish. They tried to deliver me two different orders that weren’t mine, then sent a text saying that they attempted delivery. I don’t know to who because it wasn’t me. Nonetheless, I eventually got the nachos and honestly wish they just would’ve never showed up and I could’ve just gotten a refund. The nacho cheese tasted like water with a few shreds of semblance of a cheese flavor. The nachos tasted like Chipotle’s…if chipotle didn’t use like, or salt.. so essentially like nothing but corn. The guac was so acidic. Tasted like straight lime. I’ve had better salsa from a Great Value jar. The viewing experience was subpar. I only enjoyed it so much because it’s my favorite movie of all time. It’s a fine theater, just maybe skip the nachos. Complete waste of money and calories.
I used to go here quite often several years ago with my sister. I recently went there to go see one of the new movies and it wasn't as good as it used to be. My popcorn came out clammy and cold and it tasted bad, and the service there was pretty good but it could have been better. I know that due to COVID-19, things have changed such a pressing the button on the tables to have a waiter or waitress come and take your order during the movie but I don't like how the app has to be used and there's not a choice given to customers for how they want to order their food. I also don't want to have to sit on my phone to order food while the movie is going because I miss too much of the movie trying to place the order and pay by putting my card info into the order payment section, instead of someone coming to pick up my card and scan/swipe it to make the payment. I'll be going to other places like Studio Movie Grill instead of Movie Tavern from now on.
It seems of their kind, movie tavern has taken the biggest hit after COVID. Feels like 2020 walking in with COVID guidelines and extremely limited staff. It was a ghost town on Sunday afternoon near a shopping mall. We almost had the theater to ourselves. The staff was friendly. The food was fresh and tasted fine, but it wasn't special. We learned they inflated prices due to COVID and limited staff. A burger and fries was over $15 as was the chicken and waffles. The portions probably warranted a price more like $10 per meal. My fries were only half full in their container as pictured. They displayed some words before the movie apologizing for their changes with a little thank you video from the owner, but after 2 years and others appearing back up and running, unless movie tavern comes up with solutions soon, they won't only be a ghost town, they'll be closed. We probably won't go back with other options that seem more alive and stable.
Don’t come on a 4 dollar day very packed with teenagers that don’t know how to filter they mouths around kids and adults we spent 100 all together for 4 including tickets and drinks unfortunately they forgot my food and when I asked about the wait the man told me that the kitchen is closed and no orders where back there he was very nice about the situation and refunded what I didn’t get only issue I was lit and hungry so yea I was upset they forgot my order but the experience was ok I booked online so I skipped the line just make sure to order tickets and food in advance and thank you to the man who resolved my issue cuz I was hangry and that popcorn just wasn’t cutting it but u still did what u could which was refund my money 5 stars to him 3 for everybody else cuz they seemed irritated and I wasn’t the problem I watched blue beetle at 7:30 08/27/2023 I come here often the energy was just off today I guess just to many ppl maybe
The air conditioner was not on in the auditorium but the entry and halls were cool and comfortable. It was uncomfortably hot in the theater itself. One patrion brought her blanket but it was not needed. There was also a notification which we were not made aware of until we were seated that due to labor shortages, that said they did not have any servers to come and take our order. We will not be going back here in the future. This was unacceptable since they ask for tip for bringing our food to us but not taking our order. If you have staff to bring out the food, three different individuals, then you have staff to take orders. Do better. You set a precedence. Also the Movie Tavern site will not let us post our review due to our itemized receipt not showing a specific code nor did they have a code to give us to leave a review without being a member. Needless to say we will not be members.
Two things, first we ordered food and when delivered we noticed that half our order was missing. I called the main number and the individual that answered told me there was no way to contact the food consession stand because they have no phone! They told me we had to physically walk out to the consession to get our food and miss about 5 min of the movie. If the theater had been super busy we could have missed a significant amount of the movie while standing in line for our food!! STUPID!! If your going to serve food you must have a means for your customers to contact the consession stand via call button (similar to sonic) or by phone!! Second the audio was incredibly loud and almost unbearable!! It's always cool to have great sound in a theater but this movie (top gun maverick) was incredibly loud!!
Very disappointed with the attituderesponsefrom manager, went to see nun 2 today 9/17/23 @ 3pm showing, people behind me and my wife had there phone on and it was beeping threw out the show , after the movie I went to the manager and told him my complaint so he went and told the other manager so he came and ask for my tickets well he looked up the setting chart and said nobody was seating behind me and I said they must have magically appeared there then he said well this time I will give you some passes like if I was making it up so said to keep the passes , yes I could have got up and go and get the manager but I am handicap and my wife had a boot due to her injury so we Road out the storm. This wasn't the response and attitude I deserved
GOT EVERYTHING I PAYED FOR, BUT THE FOOD :( Went on a Special Date with My Lady. WoW has The Movie TAVERN ever changed, since our last visit. This location is BOSS! However my REASONABLE expectations could NOT be met. Was instructed (online) to pickup tickets using c.c. at the KIOSK IN THE HALL. THERE WAS NONE. PAYED FOR FOOD THAT NEVER CAME. STOOD IN A LONG LINE FOR A BOTTLE OF WINE, POPCORN AND PEANUT M&Ms. BEST THEY COULD DO! I WAS OVERSERVED & UNDERSERVICED! I HAD TO HAVE SOMEONE DRIVE ME HOME, because I did NEVER receive the greasy food THAT I payed for !!! I am NOW having to email Customer Service to have the Credit Card charges dropped! THIS IS TOO MUCH TO ASK OF YOUR CUSTOMERS, MARCUS !! BAD FORM, Sir Wm. Sir Sr. The First
We have been to Movie Tavern Hulen many times over the years. The theatres are always clean and the A/V is always great. The staff has greatly decreased in size though, basically ticket office/taker and a few "runners" for food/drink. The experience has certainly declined what made these type of theatres unique - dining. No longer have the buttons on chairs, no menus and no wait staff. Everything is done on an app on your phone, yet the prices are higher than ever. I would purchase concessions more if they weren't the price of a sit down restaurant. Ticket prices have increased as well for a lesser overall experience. It is no wonder that when we go now, every show is at 25% or less capacity regardless of time or day.
Not the super best movie experience, but absolutely adequate. It was reasonably clean, only a light musty smell, and the seats were very comfortable recliner style. Not crowded. I thought the snack bar was a little awkward, but the results were good. You can get food here other than snacks, but it's in the range of burgers and pizza. If that's all you want, then this place is plenty good enough. The movie picture and sound quality was very good. Easy parking, decent part of town. They have offers to throw group events, about $150 to rent an auditorium with a movie, and food would be extra. Sounds like a good deal. Otherwise they have senior and student prices, so it's reasonably priced for individuals as well.
It's a great place to watch a movie. But I was very disappointed because I haven't been there in a while. My reason for only giving it to stars because I felt like they robbed me out of the experience of a theater. Especially now that were actually able to go back to the theater after the pandemic. You want to walk into a theater and have that experience of ordering stuff on the counter and smelling the popcorn with a butter it just something about that. And this place just brought me of all of that because they have nothing there. You have to order from the app and I'll bring it to you. I thought that was very disappointing because when we walked in and you couldn't even smell the popcorn or butter.
I usually come here to watch my movies in the Super DLX (SP?) theater. I've watched Spider-Man and the new Batman in the better screen and sound. Woo! Amazing quality picture and surround sound. The food typically delivers too. Unfortunately since COVID, the waiters no longer come to you to take your orders. But you can place your order online while listing your seat so it shouldn't get lost. When I came last they did forget my order though. I had to go to the staff but they delivered it shortly after. I highly suggest the fried pickles and tavern burger. Very tasty! I just wish the theater was a little more clean and service was better. But again it's nothing terrible.
It is a middle to high-end movie theater on the southwest side of Fort Worth. The outside of the theater looks like is deserted, but the internal is clean. The seatings are leather recliners with a large side table and cup holder. There are 8 or more theaters (I did not count), a general eating area, and two or three food serving counters within the complex. Like most cinema theaters, every Tuesday is the discount day, all tickets are $5 at this moment. I ordered beers to go and food was delivered to me before the movie was started. The screen is good the sound is a little too loud like all other cinemas—a good place to relax for a few hours.
I used to love going to movie tavern. I went to see Spiderman and saw that we had to order from our phones. I'd much rather give a tip to a waitor than hope that my order went through on my phone. Not to mention how terrible the app/website is. My wife had to try to order food for 30 minutes because it kept sending her back to the main page. Why do they need my name and email? I'm just ordering food. It shouldn't take 30 minutes to order food and enter unnecessary information. My family and I will not be returning to movie tavern unless they bring back the waiters that can take my order in person making my food ordering process faster.
We purchased tickets before the movie and after purchasing we were given the message that they are no longer offering wait staff but you can order food and drinks online to be delivered to your seat. We arrived and already customers were complaining about service but decided to look past that. After sitting down we realize they only offer snacks and sodas they do not deliver bar drinks. Went to the bar and ordered drinks and fried pickles where at least 15 employees stood around talking about their nails and talking bad about customers saying they wanted to fight them. This is the $11 fried pickles we got.
We attended last night to watch the movie REDEEMING LOVE, which was such a wonderful movie and an excellent production. I do have a complaint about the sound, because there's were several parts where the actors speak softly, and in general, the volume of the movie should have been quite a bit higher! This would have created a more powerful and wonderful experience for the whole audience. Movie Tavern, y'all crank up the volume for Disney, for Marvel, and all the others, y'all can do better for this one. Also, you would certainly top off the experience by showing this movie on a big theatre!
Nice place. Nice seats. Had two people decide our seats were theirs. Had to make them move. When ordering drinks, they would not let me pick them up, they would only deliver them to my seat. At the time I did not have my seat number. I went back to my seats ordered the drinks, and it took about 55 minutes before getting them to me. Their excuse was they only had four people to deliver the food. Personally, they should not offer a service they cannot Supply. I do understand finding help is hard, but they should let you pick up your items if you are there to get them. Otherwise, it was good.
Seats are fine, but Customer Service is terrible. My Daughter and her friend went to see a movie. My Daughter was told that her debit card wasn't working so her friend made a second purchase for her ticket. After the movie they went to walk around Hulen mall and my daughter noticed that her card had in fact been charged for her ticket $10.01 and the Manager Sabrina and Assistant Manager Troy refused to give her the refund. She tried to advocate and they showed her his card information and refused to give her a refund still. Don't go here unless you want your card charged twice.
This was my first time at this location and it was an enjoyable experience. The staff was nice and did a great job. The popcorn and pretzels that we ordered was fresh. From what I saw this location was clean as well. I will definitely visit this location again, especially on $5 Tuesday. UPDATE FROM PREVIOUS REVIEW: I did not realize they no longer have servers. I sat with my light red for almost an hour thinking I was going to get to order food. I finally went to the bar and ordered food. I got the hot dogs delivered to my seat pretty quick and they were hot and tasted good.
I was excited that the theater is reopened but the service is not up to par. Prices are up and the red button to call for a server is useless...who wants to miss part of a movie that was almost $13 for a ticket- during the day?!!! I didn't enjoy my sampler at all...at the end of the movie I had to go to the bar and request the condiment needed only to be ignored for several minutes by the person at the register...."Hello , I will be with you in just a moment" would have sufficed.I am glad they are open, but they need help in getting back to what good customer service is....
Last 3 visits this year there was a major problem each time. They never communicate with you about the issues, you have to hunt down employees to make sure they know and to get updates. A couple examples: Spiderman no way home : audio cut out and they continued to play the movie for the remaining 45 minutes without sound... spoiling a ton of the movie... offered replacement tickets. Doctor Strange M of Madness : They started the movie 30 minutes late due to system issues and then still made us watch the 25 minutes of ads/trailers.... offered nothing, not even apology.
For us this was our go to,then this past week we went and there's no service. We ordered and had to leave the movie go to the bar for another order, which only had one person working it.had to wait 15 mins,so I missed that part...just for coffee and candy for my dessert, which sat right there...when it finally came, the thrill of it all was gone, and the movie was almost over...I understand low staff, but 1 person per movie would at least keep us from missing parts...but no service at all,now you're just like the other theaters. Please bring it back.
The concession service was an absolute joke, we waited 45min and never received our stuff. When I went back out to ask they said give it 1-2 more min that they were probably a little behind. It still never showed up and my husband had to go back out and talk to them again. The popcorn is stale and stone cold, we could also hear the movie from the room next to is that was going on at the same time as ours. It made it hard to even focus on the movie I paid money to go watch. We will not comeback to the theater again.
The last 2 movies Ive seen there one person a adult was on her phone most the time and the last movie “scream” parents brought a kid who was still on a bottle they set up a phone on the table and we could see the bright light from the screen the whole movie. Employees who walked up on them to deliver food drinks etc never asked them to turn it off. I literally got a show of blues clues and scream at once. It was not exciting. Employees need to voice the “no phone” during movies there.
Went there as a 8th grader with my classmates and I wasn’t very impressed. First, the food was very overpriced in which I still ordered; but that’s besides the point, then when I got my food the fried pickles were not crunchy AT ALL; it still had uncooked frying batter on the inside and my chicken was a little rubbery and funny tasting… I do not recommend buying food from here only go for the movie and that’s it. To overpriced and not enough good value for the price you are paying.
The order in advance/delivery to your chair aspect is great! Except when your food is delivered while the moving is starting, your order is wrong, you don't want to miss any of your movie, and you can't even press the service button to ask for help. I ordered a turkey, bacon, cheese wrap. It was supposed to come with turkey, bacon, cheese, avocado, lettuce, and ranch. It came with 25% turkey, 50% lettuce, onions, and 25% avocado. I ended up spending $15 to eat warm turkey.
I have been a loyal patron of the Hulen Movie Tavern for over a decade, and I must say that while I appreciate the recent renovations and the very comfy seats in the Extreme Theater, the quality of their food has left me thoroughly disappointed. It's disheartening to witness the positive changes in the theater experience while the dining aspect continues to fall short. I had high hopes for a memorable movie night, but the subpar wings certainly did not contribute to that.
I love going to Movie Tavern but I just went to see transformers and the movie theater we were at was hot and humid, I asked to talk to a manager and just told me that the a/c in that theater wasn’t working, I really wanted to see the movie so I stayed even do it was hot and plus I had just got my food, I just think that they should advertise people before saleing tickets if there having a/c issues in a theater , I loved them movie but dint enjoy it in a hot theater
Our experience was awesome from the time we walked in to the time we left. All employees were friendly. Hailey took awesome care of us when we ordered food and drinks. The nachos are fantastic ... A huge portion. And strawberry lemonade had free refills. After the movie we had dessert... Carrot cake and ice cream sandwich. We appreciated the amount of space between the seats, the nice sized moveable trays for our food. It was a very pleasant Date Day with my husband
Me and my boyfriend went to movie tavern to have a date night & to have a good time! Until they ruined our time, we missed half of the movie (Mario) don’t even remember what’s about! Cause me and boyfriend had to walk out and see where our food was at! The third time they brought us our large popcorn (which wasn’t even good, it was stale) & and still forgetting our large pizza! We were very disappointed! The movie was about to end & we didn’t get to enjoy our time…
My first time back to the theater in almost a year. It felt like a very safe experience, especially since no one else was in the theater with me! Makes me want to continue to support movie theaters! They kept it safe. I ordered my food through their app, same with the ticket reservation. They marked that the seats were cleaned, so you remove that sticker when you sit down. My only disappointment was they didn't let me use my $5 snack cash I had from last March.
This was my first time visiting Movie Tavern to enjoy a movie. I was an AMC moviegoer, but the service here was great!! Food is quite pricey, but the staff greeted us everywhere we go, drinks were served fast. When we left the movie, employees made sure we had a great experience. Seats are very comfortable, and a lot of space for servers to go around. If you want a great experience, Hulen theatre is great, just have some $$$ budgeted if you want to eat in.
Based on their business model, they have to charge more for tickets and a lot for their food, but it's frustrating how poor the quality of the food is given the price point. The food was frozen, rapidly heated, and then served (we ordered sliders and wings on different occasions). The theater was well set up to be able to eat and watch the movie comfortably, however, and the server did a decent job. Solid picture and sound quality. Not crowded.
Had a great time watching the movies with the kiddos. The super screen is the choice when watching your next movie. Due to the location of the movies, we have plenty of options to pick a seat. But tickets are a little bit pricey than the competition. However the theater and staff were great. I felt safe and the kids had a great time. The bar and menu options are decent but again you’re paying movie theater pricing. So bring your credit card.
Somehow they made this experience worse. Since the pandemic they've upcharged the food and fired all their servers, and then once you get your $15 school lunch they make you eat out of a cardboard box cause they must have also fired all their dishwashers. They've removed everything that made the premium price almost worth it. Now, there's literally no reason to buy anything here. You'd be better off going to a normal theatre then this scam.
One star for the comfortable seats. The food was bad, the popcorn was cold and the drinks tasted watered down. The place smells "funny" and the server was ok but the ones that actually deliver the food were rude. I don't see me ever visiting this place again. Side note- if you don't like that oily mess(butter) added to your popcorn let them know ahead of time. They automatically charge you a dollar for it without asking if u want it or not.
I went to watch a movie today and ordered popcorn but they never brought it. They brought our water maybe 5 minutes or so into the movie, but our popcorn was no where to be seen. 1 hour into the 2hr movie, I pressed the red button to call the waiters and they still never came. I had my grandma press hers too and still nothing. We were able to get a refund but what’s the point of going to a movie without getting popcorn. Very disappointed
I love this movie theatre! Always clean and polite! I always get treated like people are thoroughly happy to have my patronage and the staff always looks like they are enjoying themselves as well. The few times I have ordered things from the menu they were brought quickly and timely and were decently satisfying. I highly recommend this place for family outings. On top of everything, they do military and veteran discounts!
It has been a year since I saw a movie here and in the ensuing months watched movies at a competing theater chain that has reclining and newer seats and also offers dining at your seat. While overall a good experience, I noticed many of the seats were very worn, albeit comfortable. We also pressed our order button midway through the movie and nobody ever came to take the add on to our order. Picture and sound were good.
I do not even give this place a one star, not satisfied, I arrive 30 minutes before the movie started to order food and they took 30 minutes, then they dropped my food and took 50 minutes more to bring my food that they drop and was missing..not to mention food cold, they did not give us napkins, I spent almost $200....the food it's very expensive for some small portion..movie tavern need to upgrade. Not good service..
It was an awful experience to spend a lot of money on food and drinks only to sit down and have a family of six four kids all under 5 and two adults walk in and sit there kids next to you and the two adults go sit as far away from their kids as possible. And they are not even serving at the table anymore. Waste of time and money now. Parents should be required to sit with their children I don't care what the rating is.
I give this rating because when purchasing tickets, the cashier did not ask if we were members. She just took our money. Also.. before entering your movie choice, they should let the customer know that there is no option to pay cash upon ordering through their scan menus. Needs to be more informative. And whomever the chef is needs to add more meat than lettuce to order. Especially when you pay for extra add ons.
The line to get food was so long. We decided to use the kiosk to order it. So we went through everything, and then it did not work due to kiosk error message.... by this time we were late for movie. So order food on app. Hot dog and pickles came..... 10 min later nachos and stale cold ,....then 30 min later my flat watery dr pepper arrives and had to finally ask for my boyfriends drink.....ridiculou!!!!!!
Natalie (the manager) was phenomenal today. I called ahead to make sure the CC devices were charged and working as most theaters don’t train their staff to keep them charged. She checked, called me back and assured me they were all good and would be waiting for us. She even came to our seat prior to movie starting to be sure. Incredible service!!! All other staff was on top of everything that I saw as well.
Hulen Movie Tavern has gone WAY down. We've now seen 4 movies over the last few weeks, and literally every time we've gone. It's been the same experience. The menu you order from SUCKS. You no longer really get any service from servers, and the quality of the food has gone WAY down. We haven't wanted to, but we're going to find another theater to start going to. Get it together Hulen Movie Tavern.
I hosted a watch party for Black Panther 2 here on November 10, 2022 and the staff was FANTASTIC. Everyone was so helpful and nice. From the girls taking tickets to concessions, even the manager checked in on us. The theater was clean, food service was great. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again and am literally headed to browse the site for our next date. Thanks everyone for a great experience!
Staff really cares. Not kidding. Not being sarcastic. The young rude staff serving food and drinks usually forget to bring you what u pay for but the management really went above and beyond to fix the server's error. They credited me back the popcorn I never got. My teenager nephew loves the fries and chicken strips. So thumbs up there. And I really like the location and the rewards points.
Showed up. Guy says the tickets won’t scan. Says that the movie isn’t playing even though it clearly is. They don’t have a manager on site. The theater, number 7, was covered in debris. Stacked dirty plates, popcorn on the ground, absolutely filthy. The seats are damaged and worn. The thing honestly needs to be torn down and rebuilt. It’s an embarrassment to movie theaters everywhere.
If I could give this place a zero I would‼️ Went to watch Scream and I have my 4 year old who went also, the employee she was on her phone when we walked up saw our tickets for which movie and even gave us KIDS 3D glasses just for them to come in and tell us we could not watch movie due to his age and even on the way out same employee that let us through was on her phone still ..
The ticket office was friendly. The place was clean. I didn’t give it 5 stars because the staff the brings in people’s orders during the movie just walks right in front and stands there blocking views. They don’t even try to be a little courteous and duck down or anything. Also they are higher the theaters that are 10 -15 minutes away. Disappointed I feel they could do better.
Seats are good and theater is good. Service is absolutely terrible, no sense of urgency at the bar and it took almost an hour to get popcorn and bottles of water. Not sure how my food comes out 20 minutes prior to popcorn and bottles of water, other than terrible management and employees who don't care about service. Highly recommend going to AMC Clearfork over movie tavern.
Great place to get a bite to eat and enjoy a movie. Place is clean and staff is friendly. The seating reclines and there is plenty of leg room. Due to the lack of people wanting to work food can be ordered at the theater or online and they will bring it to your seat. You can buy tickets online and reserve your seats that you want if their available. Great atmosphere.
Went to this theater 7/23/23. It used to be decent. It is no longer a push button service, at least not the theater I sat in.... You now have to stand in a a very long line and order with your ticket and they bring it to you. I only ordered a large pepsi and it cost $8.61 exactly. OMG! The seats are worn down and uncomfortable and very loud and squeaky. Never again!
Staff was kind. Easy getting tickets. Popcorn was extremely disappointing!! When it got to us and was cold, like it had been sitting under an a/c vent for a day or so, kind of stale. Instead of having to wait for it to be delivered to out seats, they should let you pick it up on your way to your seat. I bought 3 large Popcorn = $$$ it was all cold.
I bought a large soda and they never brought it to me. This has happened 2 times now here. Next time, I'll go to a place with a proper concession stand so I can actually get what I pay for. $10 is too much for a soda if they're just gonna forget to serve it. Theaters with a concession stand never forgot my drink, not one time. The Movie Tavern format is bad
The theatre has always been clean and the staff has always been friendly when we've been. The only thing I don't agree with is the price of the food for the amount you receive. Paying $11-13 for loaded fries the size of a toddler's plate and $7.20 for a soda is just outright absurd. Otherwise, the theatre and the staff have always been on point for us.
Overall nice theatre. Nice seats, small screens, $17 popcorn and soda was steep. Preview ad before movie touted they have the best sound. Not sure as we could barely hear the movie over the AC blower. They still bring food and drink to your seat but won’t take your order at your seat. One has to go back to the bar or concession stand. Makes no sense.
Pretty good spot. They’ve got the comfy seats! The food was pretty good but the timing was weird. We got our dinner in about 40 minutes (this is expected) but had to ask for our drinks and popcorn which ended up taking an hour and a half. The staff were hustling but something was just wacky in the back. Still glad this spot is here and will be back!
Love coming here! But i miss the chicken nachos pre covid. The new nachos are no where as good heck even the plain just cheese nachos in other theaters are better. The popcorn is delicious. The glazed chicken sliders are very good . Their loaded or even plain fries are always good so far. The blue thing margarita on the rocks is delicious.
Never have I ever been in a theater like this. Reclining seats, complimentary popcorn, complimentary water, you can order off the menu and dine while movie watching. If you go on Tuesdays you only have to pay $5. Can't beat that! Update: Since Covid things have changed some but for the most part, I'm still enjoying being at the movies.
Disappointed they got rid of the ahi tuna. Eating dairy free is very difficult here. Not really any good options. You sort of expect the dishes to be more expensive but it was more than I anticipated for the options. Drinks were about the same as other theaters. All the workers had fantastic attitudes and cute Halloween outfits.
Movies are great to watch here. It is clean and the seats are comfortable. Food is not what it used to be. It's like they are trying to make the food too high brow but that is not their target consumer. The service is hit and miss. Sometimes you get a good server, sometimes you should have ordered at the bar before going in.
As always, spotlessly clean. Great customer service. Don't think I have ever seen a cleaner theater screening room anywhere else! Very inviting and most comfortable seats in the business. My favorite place to see a movie. Try not to go anywhere but there. Next best after Movie Tavern is Cinemark depending on theater
My husband and I went to see Guardians of the Galaxy III on 6/17 and we both ordered food- he got pizza, I got the Buffalo chicken wrap. I got the worst food poisoning that turned in to a GI infection- I've been sick since we went to the movie. If you go, save yourself a trip to the hospital and don't eat there.
Great idea and cool seating brought down by poor customer service. The girl waiting on us acted like we were wasting her time. The woman who sold us the tickets was more helpful, but the attitude of the server brought down the experience. Seats were nice and a decent menu, but they had no cold drinks.
The food is always pretty good. For a movie theater I can't ask for better honestly. There's a good selection on the menu. Beer is always cold. The seats are very comfortable. Temperatures are always set comfortably. Their prices are getting a little high lately, but still overall we love going here.
Barbie move was great! Kids loved it! The young man at the food court wasn’t very friendly, we weren’t greeted and when I was placing my order he seemed to be in a rush to ring me up. The icee machine was out of order the popcorn was cold. The theater isn’t like it use to be the inside smelled moldy.
Absolutely horrible service. Was never helped during entire movie. Finally went to the front and ordered popcorn, which also never came. Asked for help multiple times and no one had a clue what was going on. No one there seemed to know what they were doing. Highly recommend to avoid at all costs
WAS LOOKING FOR THE RAVE, THEY CHANGE THE NAME TO MOVIE TAVERN, WATCH THE MOVIE MISSION IMPOSSIBLE,TOM CRUISE DID IT AGAIN, ACTION, SADNESS, ACTION, KEEP ME ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT, …
Charging $10 for a popcorn bucket, at least serve it fresh instead of mixing old popcorn with fresh one. What you thought people won't notice? Ruined the experience. We only went out with the kids for the experience, I mean we could have rented the movie on prime and watched it at home.
I used to work here as a Back of House Bartender back in 2016/2017, for abour 6 months and it was definitely the worst job I've ever had. The entire time i worked there i was only given 1 lunch break. If you work here, you'll definitely be understaffed, underappreciated and overworked.
Good place, food a tad overpriced but that's expected, they could stand to hang some of the movie screens a little straighter and they could also stand to hire staff that don't snap at you when you ask them to repeat what they mumbled. The bartender is great though, love that guy.
Great place to watch a movie. Service is excellent. Dream loungers are very comfortable. Handicapped seating available and is the best! App is not as user-friendly as would be desired. But the manager, Natalie, is great to provide excellent phone service to help seniors.
We haven't been in a long time. They changed their seating to reclining which was great. Free popcorn on Tuesday. I'm not sure when that started. The only disappointment was the pizza. We use to love it now it's paper thin. Great time all in all. Loved SpiderMan …
Quick Check In if you order tickets online. Order food next to where you get your tickets and they'll deliver your food to you at your seat in the theater! Seats power recline and you have a nice table in front of you. Menu is loaded with lots of good food and drinks!
I love the atmosphere and the food. They have a restaurant/seating area in the lobby with a bar so you can wait for your next movie. They bring food to your seat but you have to order up front or on the app because of COVID. Overall this was a great experience.
The movie experience was great they have the relaxing lounge seats.... You cannot order your food from the seats anymore you have to go online or go down to the concession stands but all in all still a great place to see any movie with all the sound effects...
I have had good experiences in the past but last time I went it took an hour to get our cold food and out drinks showed up after the cold food. Would be a 1 star if we didn't have a decent experience before. Don't go expecting service when it's busy.
I was really dissatisfied with all the food my wings tasted rubbery my cheese sticks were not hot and I got the chicken buffalo wrap and it was soggy and salty and with everything together. This was the worst movie time experience I’ve ever
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Hulen Movie Tavern as I have many times, and I must say that my experience is made truly memorable by the outstanding service provided by one of the associates. I wanted to take a moment to express
we mistakenly reserved a theater at a theater down the street. When we went to see the food menu and theater the staff told us we could look at it online. We drove to movie tavern, Patrick immediately started helping us and showed us the
The movie was ok. But.... 6 bucks for a soda? We paid close to 50 dollars fro two sodas and two burgers..... at that price even MDs sounds good and that is sad. I can now wait two months...buy the movie and eat three meals at that price.
Loved this place unlike studio movie grill with those hard office chairs. This place has the dream lounge recliners and what I call bar food(quick bites) pizza, nachos, quesadillas, hamburgers etc. full bar and salad bar. I like being
Decided to visit because the location was close to our hotel. We had a great experience. The theater was clean and comfortable. You can order your food before you sit down and they will bring it to your seat. Recommend them for sure.
Extremely slow service at the ticket line and at the bar, where we had to place our food order. Absolutely NO sense of urgency for the mounting line of patrons waiting to get movie tickets and food ordered before the show began :(
Always an outstanding experience. Shout out to manager Patrick and the staff for hosting our event with 130+ students and staff. They go above and beyond to think of everything for your event. Great communication and hospitality!
Haven't been to the movies in a while so going here after 2 years was a welcomed exciting adventure time for myself and two sisters! Clean, plenty of bathrooms, chairs in the movie were so comfortable. Temperature was fine also!
Judging by the comments this theatre was not in a good place 7 to 8 months ago. From my experience the company has made real efforts to correct itself. Smiles and great customer service from the ticket seller, bartender, ticket
Will give the movie tavern a try. The screens weren't as large as some of the other ones but it was laid back and reasonably priced. The popcorn was very good as well you know you can't go to a movie without having popcorn
Decent location. Could use some more help in the kitchen and check their theater's sound equipment. I recently saw the new Transformers movie and audio was subpar. My home entertainment system would have sounded better.
Nice movie theater with great workers. The chairs were very comfortable and the food was surprisingly very good. The sound of the movie was at a good level to hear everything without distractions of other patrons.
I really enjoyed coming to this theater more for the option of eating at your seat. This is the third time that the website does not work to order food, I feel that the quality is going down. very disappointed.
really nice seats. I haven't been to a movie theater in a while and a lot has changed. there are no longer servers and you can only order your food online..still pretty pricey but that's all theaters nowadays.
