First time at the rooftop cinema last night. Went to see Jumanji. Good screen and seats, decent sound. Will definitely be back but have to say I thought the place was slightly disorganised / poorly managed. Maybe it was an off-night. People had clearly been queuing / waiting for a while to get their seats and when they ‘opened’ the cinema at 8pm, the nice polite line of people was ruined by those everyone else just cutting in. Everyone went to get their seats but turned out 4 rows were reserved. Once people were getting comfortable it turned out the manager hadn’t divided the row of seats into 6 and 6, but rather 5 and 7. Had to get people to move to fix it. No big deal but just added to the lack of organisation. Film was supposed to start at 8.30pm. Didn’t start running the ads until 8.50pm ad the reserved attendees were yet to show. When they did they were loud and drunk. Someone’s birthday. Obviously having a great time which is cool, but don’t come to the cinema maybe? A few of the stayed at the bar talking loudly for the first and last 10-15 mins of the film. Again, lack of management. Let people with a bit of money do what they wanted. Most people were clearly annoyed, and had been when they were in Mesa verde on the level below, as they kept turning around to see who was making all the noise. Everyone is entitled to a good night out, and I hope the person had a great birthday, but you’re at a cinema. Management should have done more but there you go. Overall had a great time and can’t wait to come back. Just management could be better. Prices were fine, don’t know what people moan about. You’re in the city. One more thing - I hope you like stairs! FYI - writing this on my phone, hence the short sentences!

rooftop bar in Melbourne CBD, is always a an incredible experience. The view of Melbourne CBD from the rooftop was absolutely stunning, with breathtaking panoramic views of the city skyline. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a drink while taking in the iconic sights of Melbourne. The bar itself had an impressive selection of drinks, with a wide range of cocktails, craft beers, and wines to choose from. Whether you're a fan of classic cocktails or prefer to try something more unique, this rooftop bar has something to satisfy every palate or a simple beer! The live music created a vibrant and energetic atmosphere, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the overall experience. The music perfectly complemented the stunning views and the lively ambiance of the bar, making it a truly memorable night. If you're in Melbourne and looking for a rooftop bar with a great view, great drinks, and live music, this is the place to be. It's the perfect spot to relax, socialize, and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of the city. I highly recommend checking it out!

Good morning, Firstly can I say that last night was my and my wife's first time and really enjoyed the concept and the venue was great as well as the prices not only the ticket for the cinema but drinks and burgers. Also the staff were all very friendly and helpful. What was the problem was the fact we parked in the car park that you recommend "Golden Square" car park which shuts at 12.00. Meaning that we had to leave early and missed the end of the movie. It was lucky for me that my wife went to the toilet about 11.40 and asked one of your staff about at length of the movie and he said that it was a 3 hour movie so we had to leave. Knowing this now why would your company recommend Golden Square car park. Please change your recommendation so people can watch and enjoy the end of the movie. I work in Shepparton and needed my car this morning. Missing the end of the movie really put a dampener on the night. Cheers Michael Polan

On getting there meaning of stopped by security. Overzealous very rude. They think you a drunk which to me is a very serious accusations. Personally I don't drink. Before I forget in there was a massive altercation between security and 3 other men that just want to enjoy it tonight. Terrible violence from the security kicking into two men that required hospitalization. To want to have an enjoyable night and see that my recommendation is don't go. I've never seen such disgusting and unprofessional conduct by security

Quite a good place to just chill and watch a movie. You've got your usual bar fare, and whilst the drinks aren't too badly priced, the food is slightly so for what it is. Staff are friendly and great to deal with. In my experience it's best to grab a seat at the back on the platform if you can. Okay you don't get to lounge back in a deck chair, but they are much easier to get to and you don't have to risk tripping up trying to get to the deckchair you want. The really need to put more of a gap in the rows!

Another i the long list of funky Melbourne bars. This old building has a couple of 'em, but this one is on the roof. That's 7 (big) floors of stairs if you're feeling fit (or one lift ride if you're not). The rooftop space is functional but not at all fancy. I was here the night of the recent lunar eclipse: it was a great spot for that. It's a typical range of beers, ciders, and liquor delivered by a typical gang of young folks. You're here for laid-back rooftop drinking, and not much else.

My friends and I got turned away because I was apparently drunk even though I had only enough to be tipsy and am naturally bubbly. The dudes before us were much drunker than us and got to go in. Basically we got turned away because the security lady didn't like me or just wanted men inside. So sad because I hadn't been here in four years and wanted to go back. Guess I won't be coming back at all

the stairs give me the workout i need to cope with the gormless scenester prats that flop about this otherwise fun, iconic bar - which tries (in vain) to prove that melbourne bars can have views too. (sorry guys, melbourne is dead-flat whilst sydney has hills, and epic scenery). the chance that i might witness a bearded, bespectacled clone plummet to his doom makes this a sports bar in my book.

  • Anna - Lee

Great location. Intimate setting. Six flights of stairs to climb to get to roof. Chairs are a little cramped, you can't really get through over pple. Once you take your seat you'll be comfortable enough. I would recommend to bring your own blanket. How many barmy summer nights in Melbourne can you count on? Staff at bar were very friendly and bar prices were typical. It was an enjoyable night.

  • Kevin Yim

Concept is cool, but what is the point of the $4 booking fee for online purchases when you have to still line up at the ticket booth to get a wrist band? You can’t just walk in to the cinema like every other cinema and scan your QR code. Also, the seats are placed in rows of 5. So many wasted seats in the middle because majority of people are coming in pairs to watch a movie.

  • Doc Ussher

It's exactly what you hope it would be from a rooftop cinema - big clear screen (luck involved with person's head in front of you as seats are level, but usually choices of other seats and all seats are great view), sound is great and loud enough, bar open throughout, rich Brunetti choctops, etc. A great alternative way to watch a movie, especially classics with friends.

  • S. McMahon

The lift up or down is never working so you’ll have to take stairs seven levels up to see something you haven’t witnessed before, and outdoor cinema or bar depending if something is being shown that night. Great drink selection at the recently redesigned bar, panoramic views of Melbourne inner city buildings. At least visit once if you’re in Melbourne rarely.

  • Juan Carlos Barragan

Hi Rooftop Bar, why don't you tell us about your racist door policy and your rude bouncers? We have some videos of your bouncers letting in only white people and rejecting people from asian/latino/indian background. This would be an excellent topic to discuss here and maybe to involve the media/authorities about your illegal practices.

  • Anthony Smarrelli

A pretty cool experience, and definitely worth checking out at least once, but bring a blanket. You can always hire a blanket there for $5 if you happen to overestimate your ability to tolerate the cold though, like me. Get there early and line up to spare yourself the disappointment of not being able to sit together.

  • Andrew L

Opens late on a weekday. Drink are reasonably priced for the city. Nice chilled out atmosphere with heaters for the cold winter nights. Only issue was they closed the lift early so you have to trek up to the 7th floor, that is not too bad but going back down after a few drinks was more challenging.

  • Steve Kodos

Fun bar to go, great novelty value and views of city. Had a revamp since last visit, lost a bit of character and the crowd is younger, it gets very busy so not good for a cosy evening. Beware they close doors when cinema running, I. E. Bar for cinema use only at those times.

  • Janis Gomez

My friend and I had been go at those cinema. It is the beautiful and unique theater because it is a rooftop cinema. Pleasant to sitting in the sun and listen to favorites music. But bring your own a blanket because it can get super cold up there!

  • Ridhav

If you are lucky enough to visit this place on one of clear days of Melbourne, you will absolutely love it. We came to one of the movie screenings, the only quirk was that the sound was not loud enough if you were sitting at the back.

  • Courtney Fabian

Great night out with Mates, doesn't even matter if the film is any good- kick back on comfy reclined deck chairs, eat pop corn and have a tap beer all while taking in the breathtaking 360 degrees of city skyline - double thumbs up

  • Travel Guy

Great experience but the burger and icecream shop closed at the start of the movie. There needs to be more time before the movie starts to be able to relax instead of being crammed at the bar. The entire area should be opened up.

  • Ben

A Melbourne institution. A let least one visit is a must for everyone; regardless if you're a local or simply visiting. Keep it mind it gets busy when the sun is shinning. Also doubles as a rooftop cinema throughout the Summer.

  • tobias darknubb

Wicked setting, good vibes, chill as, decently priced beer, decent burgers if youre hungry, perfect for beers mates and dates! And thats all in melbournes winter haha cannot wait to kick it at this joint on hot summer days :D

  • Joanna Chak

Beautiful gem of a hidden bar with friendly staff, fantastic drinks and one of the best burgers I've had in my entire life. The great Mexican restaurant below and the bookstore are also great reasons to scope out this place.

  • Jannis

Great view, nice staff. But often very crowded. Bouncers always keep on eye the male/female ratio so don't rock up with a big group of blokes. Drink prices are standard for roof top in the cbd! Always a friendly crowd!

  • Honest Reviews

This place is always very popular and is worth going to at least once. It can get incredibly crowded so don't expect to find a seat. The drinks are good but the food is very pricey for the size and wait.

  • Evelyn Hamlett

Great films on offer in a unique roof top Melbourne setting. Grab a burger and a drink before the film and sit back and relax. But bring or hire a blanket because it can get super cold up there!

  • Travis van der Spil

An oldie but still a goodie. Fantastic city skyline views, chill tunes, decent drinks list + food options - all delivered by attentive COVID friendly staff giving service with a smile …

  • Roma Rose

Went on a cold wet winter night and had the best night the staff were really helpful the view was to die for the city at night is a beautiful sight and it top it off a great classic movie ❤❤

  • Jordan Verbeek

There is some good food served here. The crowd has gotten a bit younger and rowdier in recent months. However, there are few places that can top views like the Rooftop Cinema.

  • L P

The place is amazing. The bartenders not so much though. A couple of them treat people like they should be grateful just to be there getting a drink from them. Try it though.

  • May A.

Never really seen a movie up there but enjoy going for drinks on a sunny day! Nice and relaxed atmosphere. Good service with Ok prices. Looking forward to watch a movie tho!

  • Helen Horsell

Great rooftop bar that you would miss if you didn't know where it was. Hard to get a seat as it's filled with all the hip young people of Melbourne but worth it if you can

  • Jason Hendry

Don't be fooled, this is rooftop bar and cinema. When the weather is good, best place in Melbourne for Burger and beer lunch with a fantastic 360 degree view of the city.

  • Eye Kandi Art Gallery r

Great place in the city to get away from the hustle and bustle .. I had a felafel salad and fries it was delicious! Nice to sit out in the sun and listen to some music .

  • José Miguel Reis

Awesome space, great music and atmosphere! Went there on a beutiful sunday evening, saw a spectacular sunset plus fireworks at night. A must visit while in Melbourne :D

  • Kelvin Li

I always like the journey to the top for my pint of little creature. First rooftop bar I have been to, and its still my favourite place to hang out with my mates.

  • Lindsey Mineff

It's definitely a tourist spot, BUT for good reason. The view is great, it's really cool that they have movies, and on a summer night... you can't beat it.

  • Terri Dunn

Went here for drinks only and there was a really good atmosphere. Can get really busy and people are scrambling for seats. Overall a really good venue.

  • Nick Burt

A sweet setup on the roof however chairs are too close together, they squeeze too many in, makes for an incredibly difficult time walking past people

  • Michael Briggs

Awesome bar with an even better view. Came here in the middle of winter for the first time and it was great. Can't wait to come back in summer!

  • Nelson Ng (Adventure Rider)

I enjoy my time with my friends there. We three finish 3 bottles of white wine without feeling drunk. I guess the cold weather help.

  • Kenneth Tasker

We loved this. What an amazing place to see a movie. This is a great example of why Melbourne is one of the best cities in the world.

  • Bridge Norton

Your standard bar with a few extra perks... You can assume if anyone has a bad time here it's because they brought it with them!

  • Laura Walker-York-Moore

Wonderful rooftop bar, delicious burgers and great views. This often the 'go to' place when we're struggling to be adventurous.

  • Kay Roq

Nice to bring guests a couple times but it's not a place to chillax regularly (too touristy). Summertime rooftop is sweet.

  • Joana Lima

Burgers are good but the view you get (especially at night) is priceless. Very wallet friendly if you are on a budget!

  • Emma Krouglova

Cute venue, great location and good cocktails however, their bouncers/ security were very unfriendly and quite rude

  • Jessyka Nunes Passos

A great option to go at sunny days or cold nights. This place is nice all the time! Nice view to romantic dates.

  • hayden b

Movie is kinda overrated but the night life is great! 2007 hipster crowd 2017 nothing has changed! great times!

  • Nathan Nardella

awesome experience, great location and a good range of new movies and classics! perfect for a hot summer night

  • Madz Mallen

Gorgeous rooftop bar complete with a cinema. Amazing view of Melbourne, all that's missing is a pool!

  • Rhys McPherson

Great atmosphere but shame about the air-conditioning from other bars overpowering the sound system

  • Justin Durrant

Great fun, although it's a bit packed and hard to get to your seat especially carrying two drinks

  • Perry Martin

A cool place to visit. A lot of stairs to climb if busy. Recommend if you are going to Cookie.

  • Nam Tonthat

One of a kind experience and the cinema plays classic films as well as recent releases.

  • Joe Cho

A wonderful place to chill out with friends because of the air, music, food and drinks.

  • Bryce Kenny

Great vibes and cheap drinks, however gets very crowded with not enough seating space

  • Martin Mio

Get super busy on weekends. Go on a week night and get a different view of Melbourne.

  • Andy Wood

Guys on the door are jerks more often than not, but great atmosphere up the top here.

The view is every thing. Even if the beer and food was worse the view merits 5 stars

  • James Bernard

One of my favourite places in Melbourne. Gets crazy busy on hot sunny weekend days.
