We had a girls day out today and went to see hustlers at village at airport west. There was a gorgeous older lady that was the only one serving people at the concession bar/ticket purchases. That lady was impeccable. She was so lovely, sweet, kind, and just all around helpful and friendly! The poor lady seemed to be the only staff working the counters, tickets and such, and she was still keeping everyone happy and moving quickly. The cinemas themselves were ok, the seats need to be redone (when seated, it felt like we were positioned very diagonally, instead of having a slight back arch so you can lean back in any way to enjoy your viewing experience). Apart from that, the cinemas were clean, we didn’t have to move or throw out anything left behind from the previous sessions (which we have had to do in the past with other corporations), and once again, the lovely lady from the concession bar was straight in once the movie ended, and she was ready to clean and maintain upkeep instantaneously. If you park on the roof (ramp to get up is right next to the big NAB sign and Westfield sign), and there’s a plethora of parking spots to choose from. If you don’t park on the roof, that just means you need to walk up a flight or two of stairs from the food court to access the cinemas as well (pictured).
Sat through 15 minutes of solid advertisements (that you’d find on normal TV) before the previews finally started. I’ve NEVER experienced this before. They even had an advertisement for ADVERTISING ON THE CINEMA SCREEN FOR AS LITTLE AS $5 PER LISTING! What the hell am I paying for? I might as well have payed for it on streaming from the comfort of my own home with Ads you can (and should skip). I knew this place was in desperate need for a complete refurbishment…. But it was opening night for Napoleon and I could be bothered pre-preferring tickets for a better cinema, knowing full well that there’d surely be tickets available at Airport West. There was 7 people at the screening. The screen is tiny, the sound is muffled, the seats are uncomfortable, the game arcades are $3 per credit instead of a single coin etc etc. This place needs to be condemned. NEVER AGAIN
It wasn't that great, the only good thing is you can pick whichever sits you want, but only when you get there. Seats don't recline, armrests don't move. Not much space to sit when you are tall. Popcorn tasted burnt. The 2 workers were rude and arrogant. I came on a Saturday with family. Only came here, as it was the only place showing the movie we wanted to see, on that particular day. If the customer service was better, knowing how to cook popcorn is one thing, also service with a smile for example and they renovate the chairs... I would have given them at least 4stars. But rating low for this place. Sorry. Not coming back here again.
Was refreshing to go back to the place where I first started working. The cinema hasn't really changed since the 90s except for the fact that the ticket office is gone as is all the electronic signs (which were so retro but funky) it's still cool to visit but they really need to remove the strip down the middle and move the seats together. Seems like an easy cost effective fix that would instantly make the cinema more modern. Its a shame they don't spend the $$$ on it as more people would def go if it was better. :(
This cinema is lacking. Been here so many times since I live in this area. The cinema has been the same for over 20 years. Came into one of their cinemas, sat down and theres a funky smell on the seats, whereas in another cinema the seats are dirty and stained and in another of their cinemas the walls are falling apart. This is very upsetting, village needs to put more money into upgrading this cinema instead of upgrading the other areas. Staff are nice and popcorn is okay. Please upgrade this cinema.
Dated, tired and worn. I've had a couple of pretty unpleasant movie experiences here, as It seems to be the location where parents dump there kids for a few hours. Village aren't currently not offering any pension/disability/health care card concession tickets either, these are exactly the same as a normal adult ticket at $18. There are plenty of Village cinema complexes in Melbourne which are cleaner, so I will be going to one of those in the future. At least the parking is free.
It is good if your not fazed by quality and comfort, 2 standard tickets some popcorn and a drink cost us 53 dollars the seats were old and smelly and the screen was really high up. Audio was meh not an awful lot of bass but decent clarity. The picture quality was a bit lacklustre for the cost. The curtains weren't opened properly for half the movie untill someone got up and complained so not the most amaizng experience but not the worst.
Like walking into a set of total recall. Hasn’t changed since the late 80’s and in a way I think that’s a good thing. Tickets are cheaper here and it’s never busy so you’ll always get to see a movie in peace and quiet. The popcorn is hot and fresh, and Coca Cola drinks on offer, take note Hoyts who has moved to Pepsi drinks and cold pre packaged popcorn that’s been sitting there all day
Unfortunately, this place was all I expected from a village. The smell is very typical village cinemas. The screen was very high, had to look up the entire time even though I sat almost at the very back. Toilet cubicles were very narrow, it was very hard to get in and I have a small body. The flush was awkwardly positioned. Also, the gap on the door made me very uncomfortable
Great cinema with convenient access parking at the doorstep. The cinemas are neat and comfortable with a great sound system. I’ve had the pleasure of watching many first release movies at this cinema and find it an excellent opportunity to enjoy the cinema’s plush surroundings. There is new wheelchair access which provides entry right into the cinema.
I give you a 1 only cause I can't give you a 0, the experience was severely lacking in comfort, when you go see a 2, 3 hour picture you want COMOFORT, recliner leather chairs should be a standard across every cinema plus why am I looking up at a screen, sitting hear made me dearly miss hoyts, and well any other cinema chain.
Air conditioned not working throughout the cinemas, Liam the the ticket sales man was.no help, told him to ring the manager, didn't care, we paid for a comfortable movie time, went twice to him and did not care at all and said he does not control it. I think it's very poor service plus his attitude towards us.
Very small screen. But they sure know how to make Indians quee up for cinema shows. If they can’t manage it should book with seat numbers like others do. Feeling like watching movie in home theatre. Sound system is rubbish. Staff is helpful but everything else is not value for even for discount tickets.
The last time I came here, I had a horrible experience and haven't been back since. My last visit was much improved, the theatre was small - but I don't see that as a bad thing. The theatre was clean and the seats were comfortable. Not the best cinema I've been too, but certainly not the worst.
Where's the F@@kig phone number? I'm trying to find out if I can use gifted Gold cards tonight. They deliberately make it hard, so they can take your money, & give you nothing in return. Apparently this comment won't even post, without being forced to give them at least one star.
Staff are under a lot of pressure so don't bother them as they don't like being disturbed and the seats are really quite dirty but the parking is great except for the extra ordinary amount of bird excretion on the windows. We'll definitely be back as there's no place closer.
Not bad. The seats are not as good as the new hoyts but the selection of movies and snacks are not bad. The prices are what you would expect from a cinema and theatre was clean and had good sound and picture quality. It was not bad it was not jaw droppingly amazing either.
Lost count of how many times we’ve been here, used Telstra rewards to get $12.50 std tickets, the gold class is exceptional if you want to push the boat out. Great range of high quality food and drinks with table service that manages not to interrupt the view experience.
WORST CINEMA I HAVE EVER BEEN TO SEATS ARE FILTHY NEED STEAM CLEANING ALSO CARPETS HAS A MUSTY SMELL NOT EVEN CLEANED WENT TO SEE AVATAR 19.1.2023 POP CORN N PAPERS ON SEATS N FLOOR LEFT EARLY AS IT STUNK SO MUCH WASENT even given a refund when told staff
In need for a major upgrade! First time at this cinemas I'm usually a Hoyts customer but I had tickets so thought I'd try it out. We had to sit in the front row because my 5 year old couldn't see from behind the other seats. Won't be coming here again.
Very handy for us and we like the theatre. But on the night we saw Napoleon in Theatre 6 at Westfield, Airport West the screen curtains didn't open fully and the whole movie was narrower on both sides and viewed through the curtain! Disappointing.
About Village cinemas I don't like their cinemas I live nearby that's the only reason I go to this cinema. I wish they had wide screen with recliner so it will be fun to watch movies. I like the cleanliness and staff of the cinema is very helpful.
A truely terrible cinema. Looks like it’s last upgrade was in 1990. Also the smallest cinema screen I’ve seen in 20+ years. I usually go to Hoyts. First time going to Village and definitely the last. An embarrassment to the Village Cinema brand.
Their deals are what save this place. You get what you pay for, I guess. The seats aren't very comfortable, you're packed like sardines with the people next to you, that is, if there are any people next to you. I'm almost definitely certain
In my opinion this place isn’t run down at all. It gives you that classic cinema feel, it’s perfect! The seats are comfortable and the arms can also go up, you can sit where you want and most importantly the tickets are cheap! Even cheaper
Maybe I have been spoiled by going to a bunch of newer and better movie theatres over the last few years but Cinema 6 here seemed like a real throwback to the 80's. The seats were comfortable but the backs where too high creating problems
Not a busy cinema, but a little dated. Staff were friendly and helpful. Cinemas were clean and well presented, but the noise outside in the cinema foyer area such as people talking laughing and the disability lifting device could be heard
We personally never has any problems with the cinema hall but the screen size. This guys sells the best pop corn I ever tasted, smily customer services helps you to figure out the best combo. They do student services which is why am an
This is not our closest cinema but its worth the travel for the seating and experience. I have great memories with this place, having waited in a very long line when it first opened for free tickets to see Milo and Otis and seeing The
I like their kids Sat deals place is however very dated which is probably why they are doing it. When we went we waited for someone to check our tickets but no one was around so we just walked in. Staff didn't really seem to care.
Great cinema experience! Really good prices and I have no idea what people are wanting upgraded? Sure the seats aren’t arena style but they are really comfortable and I genuinely think this place is way better then highpoint
I Personally Love The Place, Close To Home, Great Parking, Plenty Of Cinema's And Good Films The Only Downside Is It's A Little Tired And In Need Of A Refresh Very Soon But I Still Like It **** Stars
Haven't been to the movie since before Covid. Pleasantly surprised by the the service and manner of the attendant today at 12pm. His manner was excellent. Hope the movie is as good
The screen jn which I was provided didn't even have seat selection they just gave me the ticket ans asked to sit somewhere and the screen was so small
Very old cinema's, chair's are small, worn and a bit uncomfortable. Good easy parking. Screens are small, sound ok. Wouldn't want to see a big budget
Nice traditional cinema. Enjoyed Avatar - Way of the Water there and drinks with my family. Could order snacks from the mall food court downstairs.
It's an old and small village cinema. It definitely needs an upgrade as for the same price you can go to reading cinema and get reclining chairs.
This place needs a serious refurb. Seats are filthy, seats uncomfortable and screens and sound not up to standard. Has potential to be better.
Bloody expensive for a very old cinema. Can pay the same price at other cinemas and have a comfy recliner chair with much better experience
Why dont you guys bring in designated seat nos? watched a few movies here but its always first in first serve that gets the seat they want
Booking fee for buying a ticket at the Village movie theatre ....explanation its the software used...since when...another rip off
Price is cheap but no aircons seats are not adjustable as well. Went to counter and guy was i cant do nothing about it
great cinemas. easy parking that is provides access directly to the cinema entry. best popcorn and usually very quiet.
Bloody expensive for a very old cinema. Dont come here for clean and comfy seats, you won't find them ♀️ …
The cinema 7 is not clean after the previous show bad service . It seems i am at some kind of 3rd class theatre.
It's ok, getting a bit tired compared to hoyts now But the popcorn is fresh here ,so much better than Hoyts ☺️
Great cinema, chairs could be updated and a bit cleaner between each seating but for value you cant beat it
Nice theatre, clean, seating comfortable with out being luxury.. counter service was friendly and helpful.
Haven't been in a long time was like being a teenager again in the back row hugging and kissing my girl
Good cinemas, much better now a lift has been added. So you can easily come up from the lower level
5 Stars for cleanliness and friendly staff!! We had a great night out and will definitely return:)
Too many ads about 30min of ads super annoying to sit through. Not the best quality seats.
Great place to watch movies but they need more staff members during busy periods
Good service. Tuesday is back 50% off for members. Quick turnaround.
Comfortable seating, good foods and amazing costamer service!
Great cinema but some of the chairs are broken
Like the small cinema and lack of people.
amazing service. prebooked tickets
Nice clean theatre.
