It's okay to watch South Indian New Movies at Woodside Cinemas in Toronto, Canada. Customer service good and you can buy movie tickets with credit cards and cash at movie theater entrance without any issues. If you have online booking and got any refund issues with your credit card, please contact with your credit card issuers to solve the refund issues. This Indian community theatre got 3 Cinemas and watch Indian language ( Mostly Hindi, Tamil and other south Indian languages ) Movies. After "Pandemic" (30 months later) Watched first Tamil ( Thamil - தமிழ்) Movie " Vicram " at Woodside Cinema 3 on Tuesday June 28, 2022. Now, Tuesday movie ticket only $10 ( including tax) Rest of the days $15. Theatre sound system good. In snack place Popcorn, chocolate, Mutton Roll, Samoa, Nacho and Pop Drinks are available. Also outside food or drinks not allowed. Please movie theater audiences, take your garbage or waste to garbage bin located inside the cinema. No entrance from Woodside Square Mall, We have to use Street entrance. Washrooms are clean. It was fun to watch new Indian language movies with your friends and family members. Get same "fun" watching Indian movies in South India. Enjoy your cinema entertainment with your favorite Indian movies.

I have been to Woodside Cinema many times. It’s a great place to view South Indian movies. The only downside to this was the cleanliness of the theatre. They don’t clean after every show the empty pop cans, pieces of papers are on and around the chairs. I was worried whether the seats are safer to sit during this pandemic time. However, the washrooms were very clean. There is another down side is that the viewing because of a few people were on their phones, and others were talking loudly and having full on conversations during the movie. Is this a Asian behaviour? Or Is it because, we were all watching a South Asian movie? However, people were less care or concerned about manners and being polite than they would at any Cineplex Cinema. I really wish management would put in a clip before the movie asking people to turn off their cellphones and be quiet, or at least having a sign on the doors stating so when you enter the viewing room. It would also be great if they could have an employee come in at intervals to ensure that there aren't people disrupting the viewing experience.

Okay movie theatre- can have better customer service, bathrooms and theatres seats and armrests need more deep cleaning due to COVID precautions and safety. Concession stands can be improved. Accessible by TTC which is good and has food options near by! Screens are good size and seats are comfortable. Sound of the movie is too loud---sound needs to be adjusted as it can cause ear damage watching a movie at that loud of a sound for more than 2 hours. Very hard to enjoy movie due to extremely loud sound of movie. There also needs to be a reminder at the beginning of the movie to not talk during the movie and to put phone on silent. Interval break of movie can be longer as people use washrooms and buy concessions during this time.

Proof of vaccination and ID is a must. Good collection of Indian cinemas available. The place is nice and located in an open mall. Plenty of parking space available. The seats must be made reserved mandatorily for movie time showings. We had a terrible experience as a couple sat at our reserved seat which had a Good view of the screen and ended up arguing with us stating it is not mandatory to sit at their reserved seats (tickets booked online). Therefore, we ended up sitting elsewhere and could not enjoy the movie much. It would be better if they could mention that the seats are reserved instead of adding a disclaimer.

The seats are nice but the screen is small. Sound is extremely loud at the start during commercial that I had to close my ears. I wish these movies can be played at Cineplex because what a waste to watch them on such small screens. On top of that the people who come here are extremely rude. One lady was sitting beside us coughing a lot with no mask. We thought, thank god we were wearing mask but we got sick with COVID after going here. Be careful! People who come here don't care about you or your family and have no manners to stay home while sick. The theatre should have stricter rules!

Theatre is not upto mark. It's maintained very bad. Never been upgraded once in last decade. Sound, Sceen and Ambience everything is low class. On top of this theatre group mafia controls restricted release of South Indian movies without getting them released in Cineplex and other big chain cinemas. York and Woodside mafia attacks theatres with pepper sparys and tears apart screens when south Indian movies are released in other theatres except in this mafia chain. I boycotted these theatres ever since. May they go bankrupt with this arrogance and selfishness.

"Woodside has only one good screen. The other two are quite disappointing, with poor-quality speakers and tiny screens. It's worth it if you can secure seats in the larger, better screen. However, the tickets are relatively expensive, almost $25 for the subpar screens. We watched the movie Leo here, and it turned out to be the worst movie experience we've had, since the movie itself was a flop adding to the misery . On the bright side, we watched 'Jailer' on the larger screen, which was enjoyable, earning this multiplex a 1-star rating."

  • Rishanth Jeevakumar

Solid movie theatre for Tamil movies. I almost only watch Tamil movies here. I wish they would turn on the AC or something during the movie because sometimes it gets very hot. Aside from that, after their renovation they did a couple years ago this is definitely the go to spot. Local too, it in Scarborough also has a huge parking lot. Audio is good and staff are usually very friendly. They always have good movies playing too! Generally clean too!

  • Herath Kathir

Nice theatres and playing good movies but this theatre owners are threatening the other theatre owners who is playing the Tamil movies thinking they are the only one can play Tamil movies in Canada. This kind of criminal mentality is not accepted as we all are law obeying Canadians. Any Theatre owner has rights to play any movie with proper distribution license . That should not be stopped by wood side cinema theatre owners in any circumstances.

Woodsode Square Cinemas is a great movie theater that I have visited many times. Although the seating arrangements can be uncomfortable at times, the overall experience is good. With its central location, and convenient show times, Woodsode Square Cinemas is a great choice for Indian movie lovers. Whether you're looking for a solo movie experience or a fun night out with friends and family, Woodsode Square Cinemas is the place to go.

  • T R

please lower the sound of the movies- it will cause ringing in ears as well as long term tinnitus. there is no reason for the movie to be that loud. please also clean the theaters in between showings and play an ad in native languages to tell people to not talk during movies and to not go on phone during movies. overall alright to watch movies, but pricing for movies changes always as it is based on actor popularity and language.

  • Thamays Ganesha

The booking website is the worst, and the theater's sound quality is poor, with excessive noise, providing a far less immersive experience than a proper theater. Furthermore, it's very cold inside. However, the most frustrating aspect is that we don't have any other options for watching South Indian films. A better alternative might be to stay calm and watch them on OTT sites.

  • parthiban samykutti (ParksExplorer)

Very average theater, I was expecting the theatre with big screens but this theater has very small screen. Also I couldn’t see this theater is more effective way of cleaning. We had a samosa in the shop inside the theater, but our experience is not good with taste or quality to the price. We went here for watching RRR, the film is so nice but I should not watch it here.

  • Aravind Madasamy

The sound sucks, the theatre stinks, terrible snacks and drinks, but good at creating chaos. Please do not go to this theatre. Boycott Woodside, Albion and all the tamil theatres that are doing politics and preventing the release of one of the most important tamil films - Ponniyin Selvan. Have some dignity please, honestly this is disgusting @woodside

  • sripirakas sakthithasan

This is the cinema with the worst online booking system. Online booking never goes through and credit cards are charged though the transaction is declined. No booking via phone either. We had to call the cinema multiple times to get a refund of an incorrect charge on our credit card and it takes 7 or more days for them to process it. Its a joke!

  • Jantu Mramm

Need security , don’t go to late show here like 10:30 show , new fob lankan boys from srilanka comes with beer inside and swears bad words and loud alll the time during show , i will take my part and report to ministry about the management that they don’t do much to control this kinda behaviour , i will never ho to wiodside cinema ever again

  • Ragul Thiyagarajah

I don’t understand how a management and leadership this bad manages buy South Indian movies over Cineplex. The seats are uncomfortable, the audio is too loud, movies are never played on time, and bad customer service. Audiences like me have no other way to experience movies we love other than this terrible theatre. The management is …

  • Sarujaa Seelan

I checked, and there was no warning about refunds being forbidden when I recently bought tickets online. They flat-out refused when I tried to ask for a refund in person and wouldn't even call the manager. How can you refuse to give a refund when this is basically retail? The women's restroom was also absolutely disgusting with insects.

  • Vignesh Viz

Much worse than a poorly maintained theatre in a rural area in our home country. Are we in Canada? Terrible experience. Stopped visiting this theatre as it's much better to watch in a 55" TV with a decent sound bar at home conveniently in OTT. Better wait and watch in TV as they won't allow Tamil movies to screen elsewhere in CA.

  • Pug lover

Worst theater experience! Uncomfortable seats, small screen, unbearable bass and sound, terrible customer service. Tickets prices are not fair at all! Hindi $10 Tamil&Telugu $15 - big star movies $20. Back home theaters are way better than these cheap ones! wish there's an option for 0 stars ! Would never visit again.

  • V M

Cinema hall needs a renovation. It is old with old seat settings. It is difficult to find the seat numbers especially for senior people. The sound system was too loud for that small hall, but the sound effect was good. I enjoyed my jailer movie with my family. The washroom is not maintained well for women..

  • Vignesh Nandha Kumar

Big enough theater with comfortable seating. It's almost empty even on weekends, so you can just buy tickets right at the counter instead of wasting a couple of dollars on "convenience fee" with online booking. The food and beverages counter is pretty basic though. And they allow outside food too.

  • SRUTHI KONDURI

We prefer to watch South Indian movies as this is the only theater in which the movies arrive. But the staff always keep the air conditioning very high probably they forget that we are in Canada and think of Chennai hot climate..hmm and also they need to maintain cleanliness..

  • SHWEE !

BEWARE OF ONLINE PURCHASING!!! Me and my mom were buying tickets for the whole family from their site, and got charged a total of FOUR TIMES. We didn't even get our tickets. The least they can do is answer their e-mails/calls. Absolute fraud and horrible communication

  • Sara John

Charged 3 times , called 100 times no one picked up the phone went in person to get my refund, without asking any information simply told me they will refund in 7 days, what kind is scam is this?? Plus on the top they said their phone have no power from the morning.

  • Praveen Kana

1. The drinks does not only smell like a swimming pool it also taste like it. (Its not even legal in holland) 2. The food is too expensive and it tast like it is made yesterday and warmed up in a microwave 3. Sound is way to loud after the movie i had ear problems

  • Sarj Siva

Used to be a good place to go to; doesn’t seem like it anymore. Food options were very low on the Sunday I went. No mutton rolls or kulfi. Chai was just water with a tea bag. Auditorium wasn’t that clean either. Sticky cup holders and garbage still in them.

  • Joseph Moses

Watched RRR & the Sound system was good. Theater Seats were too small and too close to each other. There was Not enough space on Hand rest. The seats in the 1st 3 rows close to the screen were large and comfortable, unfortunately all seats

  • sakthipps

Never ever. There is no proof that these guys are directly related to the vandalism on the other theatres screening Tamil movies but it is evident they are. Besides, the theatre quality sucks. I would love to see these guys go out of business

  • Global Traveller

Not good at all. All seats are torn or very badly worn out. All of them should be in recycling bin. Noise from other two theatres keep overpowering the movie. When ticket price is same as other theatres better go to other theatres. Clean now.

  • Madhan Kumar

Seats are not comfortable and It is not clean. You will find difficult time finding your seat, online booking shows last row as "A" however once you go there the last row is not the "A" buy they call it VIP row, so it's quite confusing...

  • Jayson Subaskaran

Unfortunate that this hole in the wall is the only location at which one can watch South Indian films in Scarborough. Come here for the same 10 ads to be played on repeat at a ridiculous volume before your movie begins 15 minutes late,

  • Ayush Sadan

Just had a really bad experience for the malayalam movie Hridayam. When the show started there was no dialog sounds..they replayed 4 times to fix that sound issue and after 30mts total sound system went down. Almost 50+ people

  • vinay muthyapu

Good Theatre to experience the movies only concern is they show Telugu movies in Screen 1 and other screens are bigger than that if they switch screening Telugu movies to other screens that would be awesome That’s y 4 stars

  • Shyam N

The sound quality and seating needs a definite upgrade . Sounded like home theatre . Atmosphere is fine . Snacks options are little expensive . Restrooms are clean . Parking on weekend might be tough due to busier place

  • naveen k joseph

Not worth - Worst cinemas ever . Washrooms not clean , they don't turn on the AC to save bills and it is really exhausting inside . Very expensive food . It is better to choose cineplex , landmark or yorkcinemas ..

  • mahadevan deepak

This is one other establishment, that is not really investing back into their growth. Instead just reaping profits. For the cost of ticket, it is not on par. Cleanliness or the seating comfort are poor.

  • Jonathan S

Honestly I haven’t been to a worse theatre until this one. The seats are extremely dirty. It’s not worth paying to watch movie here, I don’t even feel comfortable and sitting in a nasty environment.

  • Arjun kashetty

Sound clarity is at its worst quality, we go there because we don't have a choice for telugu movies. Either they have to improve the clarity or let other good theaters to play south India movies.

  • Gopinath Sam

Best theater to watch South Indian movies. Sound effect could be better but enjoyed the movie and feels like local area theatre with fun and energetic audience. Snacks at interval is good.

  • Rejo Mathew

It's an ok cinema experience but one of the only places where you will find hindi and south indian movies playing. So we go there for the content and hardly the movie going experience.

  • Priyanka Chowkampally

The screen is small and the seating is not that good. There are no recliners and my husband got a back ache. However , the sound quality is good and picture quality is good.

  • Jassleen Kaur

I saw RRR, Nice movie and nice cinemas. They had nice popcorns and samosas only suggestion is that if they could serve a sauce with samosas it would have been a total 5⭐️

  • agastya sai

The ambience is nice, theater is not that big, the only pblm I have is that the sound system can be better. It is a bit lower compared to other theaters in Scarborough.

  • SHERY JACOB

Good theatre to watch Indian films in Scarborough! The staff was really helpful especially Arjun, he was so kind and gave the instructions slow and precisely!

  • Shalomi Baburajah

The food does not taste good, the washrooms have toilets that don’t flush, and some of the toilets leak, the soap is diluted with water, not hygienic at all.

  • Money

Trash place. Seats are horrible and it’s very messy in the theatre room. Also, washrooms are dirty and no soap and some of the sinks doesn’t turn on water.

  • Srikanth Srinivas

Service was very friendly and very good at the stalls. They can improve on maintenance and service of rest areas. The inside of the theater was clean.

  • V R

Great Cinema to see your Bollywood, Punjabi and Tamil films. The staff is very friendly and will assist you in getting your ticket and snacks on time.

  • Rajesh

Cheap of you guys stalling Ponniyin Selvan Tamil release in Canada. One who stops others growth will never raise in life. Life will teach you that.

  • aubrey jerome

Here you get the chance to watch indian movies especially the south movies. The seats in the middle are much bette. Sound quality is good too

  • Amal M

I saw all my Tamil movies in Woodside Square cinemas. I love this place especially to have a dosa after any cinema from the Saravana bhavan

  • Aakash Uma Maheswaran

Excellent theatre with a raucous audience. Although some kernels were burnt, the popcorn was nice. The staff is friendly and helpful.

  • THOMSON DEVASIA

It's better you watch the movie at home at Ott. extremely poor sound quality, and this theatre ruins the greatest movie experiences

  • Prinse G

Worst sound system in the world! Why can’t you lower the volume during the advertisements atleast, my ears are still hurting!

  • alekhya vinni

It’s a great place to watch all south indian movies . Except for the seats which are slightly uncomfortable rest all is good

  • Ashwini Achu

Lot of confusion created with screens.. AC didn't work.. cleanliness was average..Food was okay..good for family hangout.

  • Amreen Shafiuddin

small theatre with few screens. picture quality is good. but sound quality can be improved. movies can be played on time

  • A B

Good place , night screen , nice video and sound quality but vip seats installed there should be made more comfortable.

  • Abhilash Torgal

Go to place for all the south Indian movies (Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam) for people residing in Scarborough.

  • Garthigga Yoganathan

The theatre was clean and spacious. But I think the food is overpriced. The popcorn is pretty small for the price .

  • CoderMan

It's okay, not too great. Good to watch Indian movies as compared to other worst theaters around the theaters.

  • Radha Krishnan

Worst booking system. They charge for cancelled transactions. Theatre quality is worst . Bad sound system.

  • Divya Lakshmi

Went for PS2. Had a good time. Theatre is neat and ticket price are reasonable. Restrooms are not hygiene.

  • Mohan Suswaram

Sought after for South Indian movies. The theatre is in the basement but it’s a clean and excellent one.

  • Aysha Thahani

I dont like the seating arrangements! If a tall guy sits in-front of you, you are done with the movie.

  • Aravindth Thiruchchelvam

Poor seating and sound quality. Need to renovate make it high standards. Sonny 72 inch TV much better.

  • Jose Abraham

Theatre is ok, but online site and service is not upto mark. Such a worse online site experience

Visited the place and had dinner at Saravana Bhavan. Food is awesome there and great ambience.
