Don't let the subtle signage prevent your tastebuds from experiencing this wonderful bakery. The sweet treats here are genuinely fantastic - fresh, delicious, flakey and clearly made to have every bite enjoyed and not just photographed for Instagram. They have a few rotating specials alongside their regular items. I can highly recommend the cruffins (the cheesecake filled ones are particularly yummy), kouign-amann, and brioche feuilletine. There are also savoury items as well but I've not tried many of them (what I have eaten though has been delicious too). There is a chance you might drive past it because the signage is tricky to spot. So if you are driving I'd suggest grabbing a spot on Malvern Road and walking around the corner.

I’ve heard about you guys for so long, finally got to go on a day off. Got a plain croissant (as I always do with any bakery), the viral Biscoff & Ube Cruffin. The price was decent for the size of the pastries offered. The croissant was huge! Great honeycomb pattern, but I must say the flavor is not the best I have had, and probably just the batch I got, but it’s on the dry side as well. It’s good, just not impressive. However, the Biscoff and Cruffin were delicious. Not too sweet, the filling ratio was just right, generous but not overwhelming. I’ll definitely get them again. Will come back to try other pastries. P/s: I really crave a good kouign amann, just saying

Holy mother of all things blessed… the best croissant I’ve had since Paris. I’ve pretty much had every top patisserie croissant in Melbourne and this is right up there. Lune is impressive but they can have their off days but this croissant was unbelievable. The glazing on the top is unique and adds a lovely touch of sweetness. The triple choc croissant is the best chocolate croissant I’ve ever had - but it’s a serious dessert be warned! The breads are clearly freshly baked with the right about of crunch and inner softness. I’ve found my new favourite patisserie/bakery.

I try to visit here everytime I'm in Melbourne. Everytime I always get great service and even better food! At my most recent visit my friend and I got the croissant ice-cream cone. I was lucky to know they served them as I follow them on instagram, better advertisment or signage for the icecream in store might be good idea. I look forward to my next visit!

Enjoyed a delicious mini cheesecake at Clementine cafe, so good! Quite a unique pastry which you don't see many places offer. Crispy and flakey pastry surrounding a luscious not-too-sweet cheese custard. Looking forward to trying everything else!

Must try croissant in Melbourne!! I ordered the apple crumble croissant and the lotus biscoff croissant wheel. Crispy outside and full of cream inside. It’s not too sweet but prefect with a cup of coffee. Dog friendly and the staffs are helpful and professional like a restaurant. It’s worth to drive 30 mins for the croissants. Can’t wait to visit again.

I live right around the corner and I’m not joking when I say everyone in the building is talking about how good AM bakery is! The lady that served me was so nice and chatty and the coffee was great! However the croissants are just amazing!!! Flaky and delicious. It’s also really great that you can see them being made on the other side of the curtain.

This place blows my mind. This little corner has been craving a bakery like this. The quality of the pastry is so high, and the space is so unpretentious and friendly. I have to stop myself from going too often. Love that the menu is always changing so there’s something different constantly. Currently loving the pandan croissant.

A lot of different variety of croissants are available here. Biscoff and black sesame croissants were new to me. The biscoff croissant was yummmm! They have savoury items too such as sausage roll with pork filling, pizza flavoured baguette etc. Coffee was good too, $5 for a large mocha. I wish they were open for longer hours.

In awe of the skill and hard work that must go into creating pastries of this quality. With each visit I've tried something beautiful, seasonal and delicious. Their range of pastries and bread available is always exceptional! Parking is not an issue as there are plenty of options off Malvern rd, just a short walk away.

Newly opened AM Bakehouse is an incredible addition to Glen Iris. Freshly baked breads and pastry are incredible. We had the almond and apple crumble croissant which were buttery and flakey. The donuts were amazing. The coffee was excellent. Will definitely be returning regularly.

  • Chanelle F

Happened to stumble across this place whilst driving through. Despite being a small bakery there was a good variety of pastries that all looked delicious. The almond croissant had the perfect amount of sweetness and moisture while the sausage was gourmet AF. Highly rate.

  • Lady

My new favorite! Everything just taste amazing! From coffee to pastries. Loved the hazelnut croissant and apple crumble. Just the exact amount of sweetness. Can’t go wrong with savoury pastries either. Worth trying new pastries every visit! :) Would definitely recommend!

  • Viet Phuong Anh Le

This is a spacious bakery with both outdoor and indoor seating. The plain croissant is very delicious, crunchy outside but really fluffy inside. I really like the strawberry danish. The bacon and corn croissant was very popular on the day we visited. The coffee was so so

I have been here 4 times and 3 of those times they have sold out of everything ! I walked away with nothing. If the one time I was lucky to get something was anything to go by then I can see why they sell out. They are simply that good. Get in early or good luck.

  • Rose Mar

Dangerously delicious! Super friendly staff. I ordered the jam custard donut and I could seriously eat 10 by myself. Not too sweet, the dough is spongy and light, the raspberry sprinkle on top has a nice tartness in contrast to the sweet. The perfect donut …

  • Vanessa

Hands down, one of our favourite plain croissants and cinnamon rolls ever. They sell out fast so if you live far away like we do, it's best to call and check if the pastries you want are still available. Great coffee also. Returning customers for sure :)

  • melbcroissanthunter

On a busy main road it is easy to miss, however with their array of pastries its a must try!! Their plain croissant was very nice and fluffy and had a lovely amount of crunch. There was a good level of lamination however it did lack that

  • Thomas Carrello

Genuinely one of the best bakeries I’ve been to in Melbourne. Soft, bombolone-style doughnuts, crisp pastries, luxurious custards, well balanced flavours, friendly service and great coffee too - there was nothing I could fault! The only

Superb! Delicate balance of flavours, crunchy pastry, delicately crafted. Their “ice cream cone” was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!! As was their Mother’s Day frangipani and mango croissant Can’t wait to head back again! …

  • Grace Dennis

We tried this place purely because there is no decent coffee in our immediate area, Adriana and Matteo have turned this around. The coffee is really good, and a really well thought out size cup to shot ratio.

Stale sourdough loaf, breakfast baguette with almost zero fillings, sausage roll tasty but overall the letdown was as big as the prices. A real shame.
