Every dish was delicious, and the service was just fantastic. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Although it's a large restaurant, it wasn't crazy loud which was good. The fitout also was fabulous. Highly recommend. If you can't make lunch or dinner, just visit the bakery section for the bread. The bread was incredible!! More
A fantastic new restaurant in town! The head chef has put his decades of experience into creating the menu to deliver a culinary experience. It was fantastic to have a chat with him and discuss his recommendations. Rich in flavours but all
Antara 128 falls just short of greatness. From the team behind Aru and Sunda, Antara is the latest bakery/breakfast/dinner spot in the CBD. Having visited twice - once for their pastries and once for their dinner service - we can now say:
Visited early in the day for some pastries. They have a few selection of sweet and savoury ones, and I went with the garlic creme fraiche, chocolate hazelnut pear danish and the baker's breakfast. Pastries were nice and flaky; the garlic
I think the beef was the best dish of the day. Bread was amazing, the rest of the dishes were just mediocre - sorry! Socha, the sommelier was amazing, she understood well my brief on the wine I was going for and we wanted to get it right
Lunch at @antara.melbourne- Having heard about this new opening through @alicenivens_, I decided to pivot our lunch to Antara. Tbh I was mostly attracted to their tart tartin (which mind you, we ran outta time to try ) but the other
Best breakfast and pastries, I have ever had. I thought the sugar made from coconut, was a bit try hard and they do not serve decaf......very minor details for me though. You must try the omelette with smoked trout,.....incredible ! More
Stopped for the pastries and they're good, great lamination and a proper flakey buttery croissant/dough. The chocolate croissant had a generous amount of chocolate and the Baker's breakfast would be a staple if I worked close by. More
$25 for a full English breakfast.....think they gave me the pixie version! Pastry that was burnt and flavourless, egg that was still half raw, a couple slices of small tomato. Sobressada ( a raw cured sausage) was replaced by 2 small
Great atmosphere and great service. Food was tasty though the breakfast menu options were slightly limited in my view (though this makes choosing what to eat easier). Serving sizes are reasonable and the food is presented well. More
Don’t go there for breakfast. Now I understand why it’s so empty in the morning. Management is a bit loose. Chefs need to clap three times to get someone to serve the dishes after 5 mins. I waived towards a waitress and she walked
Tried their elderflower strawberry pastry. So so good! Unique flavour and good combination. Haven’t tried their other dishes but would love to next time. Athmosphere is very classy, clean and so posh
Minimal but lovely venue with a large open kitchen offering a full view of the woodfired oven. The service was good and the space is nice but the food was a little hit or miss.
The ambiance is pleasant, but the portion sizes, especially the prawns, are small. The taste is average. It's not worth the price charged for the quality offered. More
Ordered the parsley and garlic croissant. Rating: 7.5/ 10 Review: good but not exceptional and was served cold. Wouldn’t order again. Notable garlic flavor. More
Didn’t have any more photo but we ordered the ceviche (amazing), ribs .. (tasty) and some bread .. Amazing table service, will definitely pay another visit More
I recently dined at Antara, and while the food was decent, it didn't quite reach greatness. Maybe my expectation was too high.
Delicious pastries! I think that’s the highlight for me. I haven’t tasted pastries this good in a very long time.
