Renewed my car license here today - quick, seamless process and friendly service. The security guard noticed I looked confused outside the branch and proactively came to assist me. He let me know what forms and documents I needed, and showed me where to queue. As I was leaving, he asked me if I came right - it's little things like this that leave you feeling good after completing an otherwise mundane admin task. The teller who assisted me was very friendly and helpful - again noting that I was a bit lost and helping me with patience. I had been putting off this task for a month because of the horror stories you hear about long queues, offline systems, unexpected document requirements etc. but all I needed was my printed renewal notice and I was in and out in 5 minutes - paid by debit card. I never thought I'd feel so delighted by a visit to the post office to renew my car license.

License department - what is happening? Firstly no forms to complete. You have to go BUY a form from postnet at R5 per page. They also habe no signage about this inconvenience and you only find out upon asking others in the queue. The cleanliness is disgusting - even having it cleaned once a week will be better than nothing. The windows are full of dust with old cobwebs hanging around. The "signage" they do have up is so untidy and put up with license disc stickers. They still have a collection box for KZN out, which I am sure is not even functioning anymore. Lastly, if you only going to have 2 people on service (1 lady being extremely slow) then perhaps provide more seating for those waiting. Please get clean and do better.

Really great experience collecting a parcel! Took probably less than 3 mins, highly efficient. The lady helping me was exceptionally friendly and professional: 1) asked me how my day / week was 2) noticed on my ID that my birthday is around the corner, wished me well and made a funny joke about being a bit older herself and 40 being the cutoff 3) made an extra effort to give me correct change when the till was pretty empty Wish I would've gotten her name (braided hair, lipstick, denim dress). These 5 stars are for the manageress at Benmore and her staff - not the post office in general! After 4 attempts at other places to get my license disk - this branch was very helpful under very difficult circumstances. You can see that they are underfunded with faulty equipment but they try their best and I walked out with my disk. There were 2 windows open (usually there is only one) and they went out of their way when things were not working. Thank you!

For some reason they are good at “not finding” parcels even after sending an sms informing you that they have received your parcel. The service is slow and no, they won’t do anything about your misplaced parcel. At best they’ll say come again after a couple of days or wait for us to text you again. Employees look Bored and are not interested in helping clients

Horrible and terrible staff. They go out of your way not to help you and frustrate you! Try avoid them and rather pay a bit extra for third party services to get like license discs renewal. Terrible just terrible... One of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had in my life!

Visited the post office for assistance with an issue I experienced with the online vehicle license renewal. The staff were all extremely polite, helpful and well informed. I was assisted very promptly and had my issue resolved within no time.

Benmore Post Office has closed down. It was really convenient so it's sad that it closed down.
