I visited the branch on Monday (03/08/2020) to renew my license , stood in the queue for more than 2 hours until I received assistance. When I was there I enquired if I can cash in my sassa grant money but I was told to come back on Thursday. I was a bit surprised cos I was there anyways and if I had to come Thursday it means I will have stand in the queue again for hours . Unfortunately for me they didn't help. Thursday I went back with the kids cos there was no one to help with the baby sitting ,I had to leave them in the car because of the Covid 19 social distancing.I went inside and the queue was long as usual. Stood there for an hour 30 minutes and the queue was not moving instead they were assisting only the license renewals people and ours was stand still for over and hour. I then decided to go and get few things in the mall and I will come back later. I did that came back it was still the same , I went to check up on the kids ,3 times in the car cos I was uncomfortable leaving them alone yet I still didn't get help cos the queue was still not moving. I then decided to go back home without getting anyhelp . I have never experienced such poor service in my entire life , you can't expect people to stand for more than 2 hours in the queue without help it's ridiculous .

My husband and myself went to renew our car licence disks on the 02/6/2020. We waited in the line which was moving quiet fast. We were then approached by a staff member who wanted our ID's to make a copy. She then asked if we are renewing two separate cars or one car. We told her her twice that we are renewing two cars., One car was my husbands and one was mine. She still didn't seem to comprehend, at this point I had reached my level of patience and she blatantly told me that I have a stinking attitude. I return told her that I came to renew my licence and I did not come here to fight. This lady was absolutely rude and arrogant. I believe that she might be pregnant. I totally understand when staff need to ask questions to a client to gain clarity , but this was not the situation. This lady was been rude and it was he way she asked us. She was not doing us any favors so she had no need to speak that way. it just goes to show that some people really do not value their jobs and the clients that come to them. Any way I will never go back to the North gate Post Office ever. Very rude staff

Zero star rating. Long queues. Standing for 50 minutes. They check and stamp your docs whilst in queue, then you get to the front and asked for a letter from the company. It is the only post office that ask for this letter, even though I am the registered Representative on Record. Refused to help me. Tells me 'maybe I didn't ask'. I had proof of ID, BRNC, proof of address, all stamped by their employee. What a waste of time. No wonder post offices are closing one after the other and we have drive further and further to renew our licences. Prefer online Natis, but had to do it manually as the vehichle needs roadworthy, which is then a headache to reprint in Midrand. If you go to the PO to renew, ask them what you need to ask! Such an irritation, I renew vehicles almost every month.

This is the worst service I have ever received.The web and at the door it states that they close at 12.I was there at 11h20 am. As of covid we had to waite outside to enter. I was in the post office 11h58 as I got to the front to renew my licence the service clerk did not acknowledge me for 2 minuted and then stated that the post office is now closed and I have to come back on Monday . I asked for the manager and was told there is no manager in. I then asked for the managers contact details and was told they do not have it.Is that client service. I work in the service industry and I have to service all my clients even if we are closed.

Just some advice when renewing your car license. Take a copy of your id ,if it's a card id make a copy of both sides of the card . I was turned away as I didn't have a copy of the back and the worker doing the checks seems to love making life difficult. So to avoid wasting your time : print the forms and fill them out before getting there with a copy of your id back and front and carry a copy of proof of residence as they seem to wake up with new rules each time. I was able to pay by card but would suggest you carry enough cash just in case. Also remember to carry originals for certification purposes.

21 December 2020, arrived an hour before the post office opened, 7th in the que. Fantastic service, 30 min before the post office opened a man placed license renewals forms outside. 15 minutes before the post office opened, the same man asked every individualy if the vehicle was registered on our names and checked that our forms were completed and took our Id's to make copies if we did not already have one. All and all 20 minutes after opening I left with my license and still had a full day to do what I wanted to. I want to thank the post office and staff for this exceptional service. Great job!

Went in today to renew my car licence, though there was a queue which was to be expected it moved swiftly along with the help of a staff member named Melony. She went out of her way to ensure everyone had the right docs and even arranged copies of ID's for those that did not have. She checked on the queue regularly ensuring everyone ok. It was one of the most pleasant,efficient services I have experienced in years. I honestly believe they deserve 5 stars and can see a vast improvement in this branches service.Well done Melony and team!

Pathetic service as usual!!! Sign says they open at 8.30am but some fool came out to say they opening at 9am today. They had a meeting whilst people waited! Meetings should happen BEFORE opening hours- not after!!!! Rude and arrogant- no sympathy for people's precious time wasted!!! If he is the Manager- he should be fired! But then again- what do you expect from government places in SA hey!!! When people say proudly South African- I want to puke!!!

Northgate post-office is hard to find if it's your first time going there, it's tucked away inside the Northgate center but it's only accessible from one entrance. It's past the piknpay entrance and before the mtn shop. Hope that helps. You can get your vehicle license renewed here and they are quite efficient at it, because the line I was in for renewals actually moved quite quickly.

I really wonder why they even bother having a landline as nobody never answers the phone, if they are short staffed they should let me know as i know somebody who is capable of answering and transferring calls. This is not the customer service i as an individual expected. There is also no -1 star rating here, i swear i would rate them -1million. Disgusted Eddie

Place is falling apart, ceiling open with aircon pipes coming right out of the roof the unit on the counter? Packed because they will only use one till to process vehicle registrations. Cash only. No photocopier! Bring your own copy of drivers people. Otherwise an average experience filled with people complaining, lots of queuing and borrowing of pens.

Disgusting service once again. The operating hours mean nothing, arrived over an hour before closing time and after standing in a queue for 10 minutes a lady came out and informed me and the person behind me that they would not be taking any more licence renewal customers. They make the rules as they go along and then wonder why the SAPO is bankrupt!

Unprofessional staff. Never experienced more unfriendly, unprofessional group of people located in one place. What is the purpose of a Post office. Postnet is there for packages and letters, Traffic depart for licences, What is your purpose? No point in having you.Just close your doors for good. You are to lazy.

They will mess you around as much as possible. I have renewed my daughter's car liscence disc there for the last two years, this year the person i had to deal with decided he wanted to mess me around. The paper work was the same as the the last two years but not good enough for him. Close them down!

At least this place is better than other post offices. In Randburg, Lonehill and epson down, the staff just said that the system stopped for two weeks for vehicle disk renewal. Ah~ they prepared a chair for the elderly, probably because of the comment of person who visited this place yesterday.

Been at this post office for over an hour and there is only x1 person doing renewal of disc and there is so much people still to go, x3 staff are inside but x1 guy is doing the disc the others are sitting should have more thank 1person renewing disc etc x1 person is on phone for so long

Customer service needs a some serious attention. After spending +30min in a queue, a guy comes with the renewal license doc to tell u to go make a copy at post net. I was sooo irritated to be told by a parking attendant to just go to honeydew branch. Which did not need an ID copy...

No one ever answers the phone here. Did the online licence renewal and being messed around for a week. I even went in for a reprint and they won’t give me one. I have to wait for courier. Who knows where the hell they are coz the tracking number doesn’t work either. Disgusted.

Only 1 teller open for car license discs on the last Saturday of the month. Extremely rude woman who was supposed to be assisting people in the queue but has zero people skills and instead of helping she just gives people a hard time because she has some sense of power.

This post office closes more than an hour before they're supposed to almost every single day, and they refuse to pick up their phones most of the day. This is the 5th fay that I have arrived at least an hour before closing time and they are closed already.

Another waste of time post office, they charge R73. To process license disc's but you have to bring your own copy of your ID, so now it takes twice as long. And they refill the paper in front of me, no tapping as well, so carry your physical credit card

I went to renew my vehicle license. You need to print the renewal form from the traffic department beforehand otherwise you will have to pay for one at Postnet. There was only 1 counter working resulting in long queues

Don't go there between 13:00 and 14:00 Tu renew your car license as the person is on lunch. I got there at 12:45 and was told if I haven't been helped by 13:00 then I must wait till 14:00.

Post Office Northgate does not provide forms to fill anymore since 2023 started . You have to buy at Postnet :form cost R9 and to do copy R3 as copy of Id or Drivers license is needed
