Partner and I went here for the first time for an impromptu dinner. Being a Saturday night I thought there'd be no chance of getting a seat, but the staff were very accommodating and had us at a table in about 10 minutes. The warm, cozy atmosphere was much appreciated on what was a cold winter night! The mains were delicious - a nice, juicy fillet of kingfish, topped by crisp, flavourful skin - and petite portions of venison cooked to a succulent medium rare with ultra smooth, rich mash and sweet dates to complement the deep flavour of the meat. A chocolate mousse to end the night and we walked away full, merry and warm. I'll be sure to come back again, though hopefully the website and menu is updated in due course.

Celebrated my birthday here with family on Saturday night. The menu is comprised of meat dishes and token seafood offerings. We found the food palatable though excessively salty, particularly the seafood dishes. Dish presentation was simple yet contemporary. The service while friendly and helpful lacked warmth and cheerfulness to help balance the mood on a Saturday evening. The atmosphere can be best described as having a relaxed coastal vibe with Parisian charm. Furnishings are reminiscent of French country design and not particularly comfortable to sit and enjoy the evening without constant repositioning.

Top notch. As a melbourne based foodie, the steak frites was the best I’ve had in years. Make sure you order the bearnaise sauce with it! Excellent food, service also the same. Should we ever come back to this part of the world, this would be the first restaurant I’d book. Thanks for a great night. John & Sam.

"True authentic French delight” My family & I visited this gorgeous little treasure on Sunday night for my birthday. Our waitress was fantastic, the food was just divine that I couldn't choose what I loved most. The cheese souffle or the French onion soup. Maybe it was the steak- which was cooked to perfection. Nice cosy place in Avalon. Very friendly staff and very busy. The waiters try their hardest to look after everyone but sometimes the response is a bit slow but it is understandable. The food was great especially the meat. Would come here again the next time I come to Avalon Beach. One more thing, when going on weekends remember to make a reservation, we luckily got a seat because we came when the restaurant just opened.

We enjoyed a fantastic birthday celebration recently, our first visit but certainly not our last. Hands down the best steak frites I’ve ever had, beautiful wine, and friendly and attentive service. We will be back!

Fabulous. Meal and drinks were typically French, hi quality served by friendly staff. You’d think you were in Paris. Escargot and Venison were Devine. Can get a little noisy inside but on a hot summer night outside was perfect for our group of 6.

I’m French, and the quality is just average at best. Escargots were very bad (probably the worst I’ve had in Oz and maybe ever). Very oily Chevreuil was good tho. Cafe gourmand very average (creme brulee was nice, lemon tart and chocolate mousse not very good). Service was OK, depends on the waiter/waitress. And pricy!!!

Had a great meal there celebrating my daughter's 20th. It was busy for a Monday night but not too noisy. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the zucchini flowers, salmon tartare, duck confit, venison, and steak tartare. Service was pleasant and the atmosphere very 'Parisian' for a northern beaches suburb.

As soon as we walked in, I knew it would be authentic, and gooooood food. It really was everything you could hope for menu-wise, so French, wonderfully cooked, all the favourites. Great service, super friendly and a lethal dessert list too. Wine was fabulous and affordable. We will be back!

Love this place. Consistently good quality food and great service. I get the figs in season for entree and then main it with Steak Frites when hungry but replace the Steak with the souffle when I am not. The owners run a really good restaurant.

Drove an hour to get here from the inner west and it was worth every second! Attentive service fantastic wine selection and absolutely blown away by the food! The escargot was a highlight I seem to remember it being better than what I tried in Paris once! Highly recommended!

I was stunned. Best French food outside Paris and possibly the tastiest food since being in Australia (since '91!). Snails were spot on but it was the duck that blew me away.I actually put my cutlery down so I could savour the complex tastes. Amazing!

Amazing, the team and the food are some of the best on the Northern Beaches. The steak at this place is to die for, its a shame that lockdown means no visits but the take-away has got us by. Can't wait to be back in person. Keep it up !

We had a great meal here. The steak is amazing along with the herb butter. They have kids portions and mocktails, so the kids loved it too. Our girls even tried the escargot and the steak tartare and loved it. Great service too.

Beautiful food in a cosy setting. Had the spatchcock and steak frites for dinner. The spatchcock was incredible. Oysters were fresh and the scallops were beautifully cooked. Great service and a good wine selection.

Had one hour and a half hours to eat and was shunted out rudely after 55 minutes . We complained to the owner and his comment was “have a good weekend” totally unacceptable..Tres terrible.

I absolutely love the steak paired with the paris de butter! I take a one hour drive from Sydney just to have it... The oysters here are great too. Staff are always lovely. I'll be back!
