"This is exceptional French food - probably among the best outside Paris"
"Wow! You have to try this place"
"We had the bouillabaisse last night and, wow, it was so delicate and delicious"
"Not great, way too salty for my taste, had the pork not impressed, had the citron crepes for desert revolting tasted like the syrup was just lime cordial, wouldn’t recommend, I did read the reviews from previous customers, my meal wasn’t at all good, won’t be going back"
"Just had dinner here for the first time tonight and it was such a great eating experience"
This is exceptional French food - probably among the best outside Paris. Our French class has been there for lunch on several occasions and never been disappointed. I adore brains and this is probably the only restaurant in Sydney that serves them- beautifully! All the other offerings are superb too. Make a special visit! More
Wow! You have to try this place. Best French food I've had in Sydney all year. And we nearly didn't go here for dinner because the menu graphic design wasn't great. I'm so glad we went. The cuisine is perfect. I recommend sharing the 450g Truffled Black Angus steak with a couple of sides. Creme brulee is exceptional too.
We had the bouillabaisse last night and, wow, it was so delicate and delicious. Generous amounts of perfectly cooked seafood including mussels, king prawns, scallops, cuttlefish, clams, white fish etc. Well priced too. We were so impressed and will definitely be back. More

Just had dinner here for the first time tonight and it was such a great eating experience. The duck was ah-mazing and my partner's steak was nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked. We will definitely be back to try the other dishes on your menu!
We went to this restaurant about a month ago for Sunday night dinner. It looked like all the food was pre-prepared, microwaved and re-fried before being served - especially given that the whole restaurant was being run by 1 person. Food was
I have been here twice. Please be aware I am vegetarian and they are not. The staff are lovely. The vegetarian food is excruciatingly bad. The truffle arancini balls are inedible, dry nuggets of doom. The vegetarian crepes are a disgrace. I
Food was just fair. Presentation pretty ordinary but forgivable given the menu mainly consisted of ‘stews or casseroles. The waitress brought out the mains before clearing the entree plates and had no idea what item she was serving. But to
What a discovery! La Saveur really lived up to its name. The flavours are drool-inducing. Sydney needs more little French restaurants, places where you can walk in off the street and enter a cosy little space in provincial France, perhaps
At last I have found a perfect everyday French restaurant - a modest menu with beautifully cooked and great to eat meals. I have had three meals and loved everything thus far, the snail starter was up to the best in Paris, the duck a pure
Used a Groupon. Menu was limited compared to voucher. Chicken crepe had too much sauce. Pork loin was overcooked. Lemon crepe tasted like it was covered in lemon cordial. Flavours we're good but overall execution wasn't great. Asked for a
Absolutely delicious food. The coq au vin outstanding. The chicken tender and melting in the mouth. Had the good fortune of meeting the chef who has been cooking french cuisine for nearly thirty years. The sauce: pure reduction of stock -
There weren't many customers on our night so it was quiet for us to enjoy our dinner. Didn't wait too long between each course. The food was delicious and always hot when it came to the table. The food portion size was perfect - not too
Great little French cafe tucked away at the end of Darling Street Balmain. Loved the authentic French cuisine and presentation. We were there for lunch on a Saturday and front of house/waiter/chef James was delightful. Will go again and
Good food but only some of it is French. It was delicious though, we went for dinner and i would highly recommend both the steaks and the lamb ragout pasta. The waiters working were hovering over us waiting to take our plates. Put your
Fantastic little cafe/restaurant. Just opened and doing everything right. My friend and I had the lunch special last Friday - choice of 2 soups and a pasta or risotto. I had the vegetarian lasagne - one of the best I have ever eaten -
V old fashioned but classic French food at good prices. It has a local following, for sure. It is the kind of place for dates who know each other well. But pretty good for families too. A great thing: It is BYO. Yes, in Balmain. More
The food is ok for an average meal. I would not come here for a special occasion though. Unfortunately their price point is toward a special occasion. The seafood flavour is overpowered by the cheese More
Very average and not very authentic french cuisine. I have been here a few times because friends like it but I think it is overrated and not very french. There are better alternatives in the area. More
My lunch! this is lunch special Clam chowder+grilled chicken tenderloin on pumpkin risotto! I eat all and sooo delicious Definitely I come this place again. It only $14.80! Perfect price and
Great flavours in every meal we had and very affordable. Customer service was very professional and every worker seemed to have a care factor for the restaurant. Will definitely be back soon.
Had a wonderful lunch meal. Chef James and the staff were very quick with their service and spot on with their recommendations. Food was very fresh and tasty, definitely going to go back!
It is a very good restaurant with authentic French and German cuisine. Especially fresh salads and smooth steaks are fantastic.Friendly staff and cozy and clean atmosphere are also good.
Pretty good value for money. Service was OK but the guy probably could have used an extra extra set of hands. Not sure just how French the whole menu was but food was tasty regardless.
The friendly staff, cozy atmosphere and hearty food well exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic French meal in the heart of Balmain.
This little French restaurant never disappoints. The food from entres to mains to desserts and even side dishes are awesome. Highly recommend this BYO restaurant. More
My friend and I were attracted by the desert on the table outside. LA SAVEUR is a new restaurant here, i am so glad that I came in and tried the cafe and the desert.
Excellent. A satisfying, quirky, paired-back restaurant with a moreish selection of dishes that does very well for itself. The dessert items could use some refining.
Had dinner here tonight with some friends that were visiting from interstate. We were all blown away by the taste of the food. We will definitely be returning. More
We chanced upon this amazing French restaurant in Balmain, genuine French food with an expansive menu, a hidden gem not to be missed, absolutely delicious! More
Amazing food, fantastic menu.and also the service was delightful. The best french restaurant we have been to,superb. Will definitely come back.thank you. More
Had lunch there about a month ago for a birthday. As my friend and I are French I thought it could be a nice surprise to bring her to a French restaurant.
It was a nice French Restaurant The food was so delicious and testy. My family was all satisfied and happy with that we want to come back here again soon
The menu has definitely improved. Food is well cooked and tasty. Somewhat french fusion food but none the less quite nice. Staff are very friendly.
It was a pleasure to eat here. The food was tasty and fresh. The service was great, and the atmosphere was welcoming. Great to enjoy a quiet dinner
My girlfriend and I have just discovered this restaurant by chance, and found the food very nice & tasty. We will come back for sure …
Exceptional food. Tasty, authentic French flavours. Good idea to book as this place very popular. It's also BYO. More
Amazing seafood that is so fresh, brilliant customer service and really well priced! We will be back for sure! More
Absolutely magnificent! Possibly the best French restaurant I've been to outside of Paris. It is a very
Beautiful food. Wonderful neighbourhood restaurant. And lots of gluten free options. Will be back again.
Customer service was appalling and the waitress made me feel uncomfortable.
