Honesty, if you want delicious food at great prices then Cockatoo Bakery is a far better option than some of the other local bakeries. Their staff are friendly and helpful, the pies are flaky on the outside and delicious on the inside, and omg they do these like ham / chicken salad rolls and they are a ripper! I've also never been able to go in there and not get an iced apple cake..they know how to do them properly in a saucer shape with the icing spread out over the top rather than those weird volcano shaped ones you sometimes see with barely a squirt of icing.

The best local pies in the hills! The way they've designed their meat pie to always hold the meat in the pastry pocket is a genius move, easy to eat while on the go! All their pies I've tried are fantastic, faves are:: Shepard's Pie, Steak & Pepper, Steak Bacon & Cheese. Their sweets should not be overlooked when taking a visit, the Vanilla Slice is rock solid! So glad these guys are my local bakery, no need to go anywhere else for a meaty treat with a side of sweets :)

Real men don't eat quiche?! They do if they live in Cockatoo - and Cockatoo Bakery's are very, VERY good. In fact, haven't yet met a CB pie I didn''t like. Bread, rolls, pastries tick all boxes. Fresh from the oven grain loaf at 6am? Done... Latte to wash it down? Done. Danish to follow? Done. Only complaints: No chewy Panne Di Casa, and no apple slices. (Sigh) Sometimes real men need apple slices.

Small town bakery. Having been here twice in the last week I've tried a chicken & salad roll, chicken pie, sausage roll, and apple danish and all have been wonderful. The pastries are the perfect texture. I even prefer the food here to the award-winning Emerald Bakery, though here it's take-away only with nowhere to sit.

Good little honest and no-frills country bakery with a great selection of pies and desserts at reasonable prices. It's really nice being able to grab a sausage roll and donut and not be charged $10 which is the case with some other bakeries in the area! Staff are friendly and personable.

Great bakery and reasonably priced. Their bread and rolls are especially good, and the vanilla slices are wonderful. I can also recommend the ready to go rolls and selection of pies, pasties etc. I haven't had coffee from there, but as the tradies seem to love it, it must be good!

Great friendly service. Best coffee U can buy in town. Slight wait for service, but U could see the staff are doing their best, because they super busy. Which shows how much the locals like there food and service.

Fantastic prices, tasty and everything is baked on site. No seating but parks are nearby if you want to make a picnic. I live in Emerald and travelling to Cockatoo is worth the 5 minute drive just for the bakery.

Decent value for money here. Range of sweet pastries are particularly good. Classic things well done. You can also rely on finding a pie, sausage roll and a loaf of bread to satisfy the need!

If you're after a very good pie of any sort I highly recommend this place some of the best I've had in a while and the apple scrolls are unbelievable.
