The worst customer service I have ever had. I didn't want to put a bad review until the second conversation we had because I felt sorry for them. But no I shouldnt feel sorry for people who do not care whatsoever about their customers. I Ordered Almost $100 worth of food. When we got our food the Honey chicken was missing the honey sauce. We double checked before calling anyone. First We called Uber just to make sure he didnt have it. He told me to call the restaurant so I did. The lady literally laughed out loud when I told her I was missing the sauce. She told me to check again! I said I already checked but Ill check again and wasnt there. Then told me to Check again (while laughing out loud) because its in the bag even when it wasn't so I got upset as this lady has been talking to me rudely not even tiny bit apologetic. I wasnt even asking for freebies or refund of some sort(But obviously nothing was offered) Then she said I should come and pickup the sauce? I was like what we paid for the delivery? then she told me to text this mobile number. I said why would I text this number what for? She told me to message the number my address. So I did..I even sent her a photo of all of my orders. 9 minutes passed she then sends me a message. Saying "Can you call Uber". I got shocked so I called the Mobile twice immediately, no answer. So I called the shop the lady answered and told me. " We will deliver your sauce later, we are busy" In a rude tone. I was like excuse me? I have been waiting for it my food has gone cold what do you mean you will drop it off later? then She said Okay Ill drop it off to you. I asked what time? I mean can I expect it in 10 mins as I am not far at all. She didnt answer and just said "we'll drop it off to you BYYYYYE". So I was left with uncertainty Everyone was already waiting and my food is now cold. After 10 mins or so someone knocked and it was them. They gave me the sauce abruptly in this amall container. No hi no hello no apologis no thank you nothing. Just walked off and that is that! We use to love this restaurant this is our favorite dumpling place my husband and I always get dumplings from them and only them. It's such a shame that some people can be this rude!

This place was very good when the dad and his son would serve. However, tonight they had some other man serve and he was very rude. We waited 30 mins to get the young man’s attention just to order. We ordered the food then 1 hr went past literally no one in the restaurant but us just to ask how long the food was going to be politely. Another family walks in European and they order. Within 10 mins all there dishes arrive. We ask where our 3 dishes are and asked to cancel since it’s been too long. The man then brings out 1 dish then 30 mins later he brings out the the other two dishes. To top it off I go to pay and he enters $580 on the eftpos machines with a smirk on his face. Lucky I noticed and asked to speak to the dad or the son that usually works here. Thank goodness the owners son came out and apologised for both issues as he knows we were regulars. So disappointing! Get rid of the new guy! He doesn’t know service!

We ordered a huge order through Uber Eats & when the driver arrived, he canceled the whole order instead of transferring the job to a new driver! I called the restaurant to see what happened & what we could do to fix it. They informed me that they still have my order & it’s ready to go but there’s no driver. They said they will call Uber Eats first then call me back. I had another employee call be back & explained that Uber will refund me the first order. While on the phone we made sure to re order correctly & they stayed on the phone until the order came through properly. When the food arrived we were really happy with the amount we got and that it was all still hot. Both pork & veggie dumplings, vegetarian noodles/rice, sweet & sour pork & lemon chicken was super delicious. My partner said that the special fried rice really hit the spot! We even got a special little note saying sorry for the order being stuffed around with a couple drinks which was a nice touch for the uber stuff around, very thoughtful Thank you to the team for being super amazing & helpful. Will get food from here again!

We ordered a soup, dumplings and a chilli beef on rice. The soup was the worst I have ever had, it tasted like packet beef stock watered down to nothing, those cup of noodle soups you can buy from a Asian grocery are 100% times better. The chilli beef half the plate was covered in oil and the veg they used were a poor choice but it was still eatable. The Dumplings were nothing special but you could argue they are the best in cranbourne but that's nothing to be proud about as there is little to no competition. My wife is Chinese so we eat at alot of Chinese restaurants and this place doesn't deserve the high rating it has, but I must admit when this place first opened many years ago it was pretty good. Also owner was asleep in side the restaurant as people were dinning.

I ordered the steamed rice, salt and pepper chicken rips and pineapple fritters. I didn't receive the pineapple fritters or ice cream that goes with it, the steamed rice was so hard and dry it's like it hasn't been cooked and the chicken was pooling oil. I have ordered this several times and it's usually amazing but not tonight. I rang the restaurant to be told they would give me a store credit for the 2 small scoops of ice-cream only! The food was inedible but yes let's only focus on the ice-cream ‍♀️ The lady who answered the phone was stuck in the middle for which I am sorry. Especially while the owner was being rude and dismissive I would have given zero stars if I had the option...

We had the beef dumplings very more ish. It is dog friendly, although I never asked, it's advertised as dog friendly. I would reckon if you have a dog, you would eat alfresco? Could be wrong on the alfresco part. it might be the whole restaurant .

Under new management was the reason I was given for 'Tom Yum' - bistro salad bowl sized soup $6 - having a layer of sesame oil, being vanilla yellow with whipped egg run through. Evidence of shrimp and what seemed to be boiled toast were the solids. Zero vegetables or even a hint of red in the ordered item. "Satay Chicken Skewer" entree was battered and deep fried. The dipping sauce was vegimite brown ... more salt than peanut ... and no evidence of chilli, let alone other seasoning. *** Stick to the pre-made, frozen dumplings *** [maybe they will still be edible] --- seriously annoyed that my Chinese New Year dinner was such a disappointment---

Came across this little gem when last visited in 2019; back in the area for a few days and couldn't wait to see if food was as good as the first time. Definitely did not disappoint - the quality and value for money is still exceptional.

Zero customer service. Guy in front of me ordered $35 worth of food and got shrimp crackers as a thank you. I ordered $73 and got nothing. I asked for my crackers and they said I have to pay $2 I asked why? Pointed out the guy that she just served and she said he got take away and I'm eating in. You pay $2 or get nothing. Learn to speak proper English, learn some manners, learn some customer service skills. Absolutely ridiculous. Food is good but either too salty on some diahes or no seasoning whatsoever on others. Over priced for what it is.

Ordered in store and waited 45 mins for my food. Not a good start!!! Got the food home to find the honey chicken I order had NO honey and the chicken was dry as sticks. Chicken and sweet corn soup OMFG!!! It was lumpy and tasted absolutely disgusting. Dumpling were ok. Sweet and sour chicken with rice was ok considering the little amount of sauce!! The prawn crackers must have been about 3 days old because they were very stale. Will definitely not be ordering from this place again sorry.

The dumplings are good however I got the sesame prawn toast and chicken corn soup and both those items were terrible. The sesame prawn toast was very small and there was only a smidge of prawn in the toast which is highly overpriced for what you get and the chicken corn soup had no chicken in it.. was just a watery corn soup. Such a shame as the dumplings here are really good for whats around the area, won't be ordering from here again.

I am a Chinese who loves and knows dumplings. I like the dumpling and the seating at DUMPLING de CHEF. If only regional areas have more Chinese restaurants as good as this one, then people in regional area would understand, accept and enjoy Chinese culture much more quickly. I don't blame locals in regional areas hold some kinda bias towards China and Chinese since I tried Chinese restaurants in the areas of west gippslands.

Delicious! Dumplings (pan fried pork) were yum as, and they have sauce on the table to help yourself which seems like such a small insignificant thing but it’s so good! Also had the satay chicken which was super tasty, just not enough meat and lots of veg (which I don’t mind I love veggies) very very reasonably priced, and the whole meal was better than expected. I will be returning to try more!!

I don’t know how this is rated 4 stars, ordered the Tom Yum soup and this is what I get. I don’t know how this is okay to serve. Paid for boiling water, I got a refund in the end but would have much rather enjoyed my meal. Don’t recommend . Even their other portions are small, wontons were slightly burnt.

They changed hands a few years ago and went from our favourite Chinese restaurant to our least. The last takeaway order we had from them was something off Fawlty Towers e.g. the lemon chicken had no lemon, the pork dumplings were beef, and the fried rice was plain steamed rice. The overall taste and quality is nothing to write home about whereas before it was always fantastic.

Dumplings are good here....wonton noodle soup is also good....spicy beef noodle soup could be better in my opinion (alleyway kitchen has better one)... Fried rice is ok.

Very good staff but not the dishes. We had pork and chicken prawn dumplings and not satisfied with both. The meat used are all over processed. Another dish with fried Chicken the texture is almost like fake. Calamari is very dry and salty. It’s not the oriental dumplings that we expect. It’s a Chinese restaurant for westerner. And ppl smoke behind the kitchen.

Love their Veggie dumplings, they’re my go to order every time I’m there!

As a dumpling lover i would normally go somewhere like clayton,box hill, carnegie or cbd but living in cranbourne this is closet dumpling restaurant. Only been once the fried dumpling were over cooked other than that it was ok nothing to complain about but also nothing to rave about. It would be good if they could do xialong bao my favourite dumpling!!

We were told it would be 15 mins it took 30 mins we got home and the fried rice is so bland the Singapore noodles bland prawn toast just tasted like oil so disappointed spent $45 and the dogs are getting it

Awesome dumplings & egg omelette!! I was only disappointed with my special fried rice, would’ve tasted amazing but majority of the rice wasn’t cooked properly and I couldn’t enjoy it. But definitely recommend this place for their dumplings!!

I don't know what has happened but gone down hill in a big way fried rice use to be amazing same with all the the other food but the last 3 times I have been it has been dry rice container wasn't even full dumplings aren't even half as good as they use to be disappointed 3 strikes won't be going back

Very delicious dumplings. It's a nice touch that they've got the perfect blend of soy/vinegar ready to go when you pick up a takeaway order. The only reason I didn't rate 5 star was because I was told it would be a 15 minute wait, but ended up being 30 minutes even though it didn't seem too busy.

The dumplings were really good and had cheap prices, too (I got 12 dumplings for $13, I haven’t seen prices like that in a long time). The lady at the front desk was incredibly nice to us, and the service was good, especially taking into consideration that there was only one chef available.

Ordered delivery with a 30 min wait. Ended up being 90 minutes. Mongolian beef was disgusting, tasted like soft powdery slop. Rice was under cooked. Not happy

Didn't label the containers and having a vegetarian dish and a meat dish means that we didn't know which dumplings were which. Further, the vegetarian got to the second last dumpling and it was a pork one hidden amongst the vegetable dumplings.

Best vegetarian dumplings ever eaten. The quality and taste is consistent. Everytime it’s mouthwatering and amazing. Highly recommended. Kung pao chicken was exceptional once and average other time. But vege dumplings, consistently awesome.

Got the stir fry hokkien noodles. Was very very very oily, barely any meat or veggies in it and tasted like msg too much. The after taste of msg was very over the top.

High quality food in this little quaint shop on the main road of Cranbourne. Dumplings are nice but I'd recommend trying their main dishes as well.

Delicious food! Really simple outlay, and quick with the food. Make sure you try the chicken ribs, and always do soy AND vinegar on the dumplings.
